I am starting to think I would like to be a part of a class action law suit, my daughter had to switch schools because of her mood swings, and vague hallucinations. and vague paranoia. She once ran into a parking lot she was so afraid of needles! Took her to a psychiatrist, sensed she was quick to put her on mood stabilizers and left before the eval. Recently her ped refused to up her dose of singulair and told me about depression. I subsequently upped her flovent and took her off her singulair. I did this after I heard her teacher saqy she kept on leaving the classroom to go to the nurse, and was exhibiting defiant behavior. and saying she was depressed, hearing music that wasn't there, etc. Now that shye has been off of it a week, she is a different child, and hasn't argued with me once. Hasn't cried for 5 days. has not argued w2ith her brother either! I feel I have the child back from 5 years ago when she started taking it! unfrigging believable! I would love to sue, because these episodes have almost ruined my marriage, and caused me to miss many days of work, and feel guilty when I didn't Thank-God I just took her off of it on a whim!

FINALLY! I am also experiencing hair loss, hair breakage, my blond hair is turning RED, and when it's wet after thoroughly washing it, it absolutely WREAKS of chemicals! My hematologist also swears that it's not because of the Lovenox-my hair stylist agrees with me, that it IS the Lovenox because nothing else has changed in my lifestyle. I think we should do a class action law suit since it's not listed on the Lovenox.com website as a possible side effect!

I am a few days away from my 19th birthday and i've been taking Yasmin since the age of 11. I was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 11 and Yasmin has been what's keeping my period regular and more or less pain free since then. In May of 2008 i was switched to the generic version of Yasmin called, Ocella and started to notice more and more symptoms and side effects. My stomach pain in the mornings grew greater by the day and when i was on my sugar pill i would gain an unbearable migraine. Thinking it was just part of being a woman i ignored it and went about my life. It wasn't until December of 2008 while out with a group of friends i came into some serious stomach pain. thinking it was just a typical stomach ache that i normally got i ignored it. when i came to be about 4 am and the pain hadn't stopped i started to worry. first thing in the morning i went to the doctor who referred me to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that i had gall stones and that i should have my gall bladder removed before more complications were to occur. Being a college student only a week away from returning to my second semester i opted to wait until spring break to have the surgery. During the 3 month wait i experience extreme diarrhea whenever something was put in my mouth, extreme stomach pain, heartburn, nausea, headaches, sore muscles, the list goes on and on i felt like i had been hit by a truck every day and i still had to go to class. in March of 2009 i had my gall bladder removed thinking that the symptoms would finally stop i returned to school only to find that nothing got better. It's been 7 months since my gall bladder has been removed and i'm still having the same symptoms as before and now i've added depression, stress, lack of energy and interest and many other things to the list. I'm still taking Ocella because i've never been advised otherwise but the symptoms are taking over my life. I am a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering at college and it's just become harder and harder to focus on my work or to enjoy the aspects of college that i should be with the frequent trips to the bathroom or having to opt out of a fun activity because of stomach pain. I was wondering if anyone can help me, maybe point me in a direction where i can get better and get back to enjoying what a 19 should be. Thanks.

I'm so glad I found this website - thanks to all of you who have shared. I had a Kenalog injection in May 09 and about a couple of months ago noticed an indentation in the side of my leg. I had it given in my leg instead of buttocks due to other health issues currently going on. It is sore sometimes and hurts sometimes when I bend down or exercise. I also had abnormal periods for several months and didn't realize that it was related to the injection. I had a sinus infection/ear infection and had to get on a plane to go out of the country the next day, otherwise I would have never done this. No one mentioned (or I think knew) anything about the possible muscle/skin side effects. Does anyone know about a class action suit regarding this? I've already made a report with the FDA. I am working with a dr that is doing soft tissue work on it weekly, this does seem to be helping, the indentation decreases quite a bit, but it the indentation increases if I don't have the soft tissue work. I'm hoping I won't have to have plastic surgery to fix this, but looks like I will looking at all the other postings. Does anyone know of a class action law suit regarding this? I tried the person listed in Delaware's e-mail listed on the posting, but it wouldn't go thru.

I too have been experiencing the same side effects listed by most of you. I have also been seeing a gastroenterologist for about 9 months now because of stomach issues. All symptoms point to gallbladder disease but the tests come back normal. I called my gyne today and they seem unconcerned with what I have told them and advised me to continue to take my pills until my annual visit in October. I'm done with this pack on Saturday and am thinking of going sans pills for the next month until my appt. Any advice on what pill I should switch to when I do see my dr.?

I have been on Yaz for 3 years. I am now 39- I took it to help with Pre menstrual tension and moodiness, and mild acne. I have done nothing but shed like a DOG since I have been on it, I have no sex drive, I have gained 5 pounds, which is a lot since I am only 5ft.4 in. I just found out the real kicker... I have signs of kidney disease now, high creatinine levels, and can only link it to the use of YAZ. There is a class action law suit forming against Bayer Co., and anyone using this should check it out. They are talking about the possible RECALL of this medicine, and I would hate to think of any young girls out there ending up with kidney damage like me. Please be informed before you continue to take it.

I'm 48 and had a PE 4/2/09. I entered this site looking to see if hair loss was a common side effect to the Warfarin I've been taking and, lo and behold, not only do I now have an explanation for my thinning hair but the acne, the joint pain, WEIGHT GAIN (UGH!) and gas / bloating. The powers that be have decided that the cause of the PE was my Yasmin birth control pills (a huge law suit going on for Bayer now - the producers of Yasmin, Yaz and one other one) and put me on the Warfarin for 6 months to life - we'll see about the 'to life' part on 10/02/09. I think regardless, I'm going with 'Tannabo' and trying the Nattokinase once I'm done with the Warfarin. Thank you for this 'enlightening' website and everyone's input!

Mirena is a horrible thing to have inserted inside of your precious uterus! I just had it removed today after 6 months, and I am so much better just in the first few hours! I have to say the constant fatigue hasn't even budged, I am hoping I feel better soon. I constantly had pain in my lower abdomen ever since it was put in. I kept calling the doctor and they said that it would go away, and it did for short periods, then it would return! God forbid I have sex because I would be sitting there in pain for the whole night and next morning, more then normal. I actually got used to the constant pain I was having so to the point that I feel like I just was given a new uterus! I have been eating so healthy lately and my weight hasn't even budged, which I thought was from my body changing after having a baby! I am so happy to find out that isn't true! I am only 22 and I don't deserve to be in pain every *** day!!! I can't tell you how bad I think the Mirena was for my body and I won't be surprised if there is a class action law suit coming soon! I only hope it didn't puncture something! It sure felt like it. When I went to the doctor she tried telling me that the pain was me ovulating!!! HELLO I have a child!!! I have ovulated and it didn't hurt like this!!! Also when I first had it inserted I almost lost my milk for my 2 mo. old!!! I worked and worked to keep it---heads up! IF YOU FEEL LIKE THIS FOREIGN THING IN YOUR BODY HURTS AND IT SHOULDN'T BE THERE, REMOVE IT SOMETHING IS PROBABLY WRONG!!! DON'T LET YOUR DR TELL YOU IT'S NORMAL! 6 MOS LATER AND MY PAIN DIDN'T GO AWAY!

The cause our family believes is from NuvaRing, there is a law suit out right now to get it off the market. My sister is not the only one that my family has herd of passing away because of blood clouts from NuvaRing. I would like to encourage everyone to please not take it! It is not worth losing your life my sister was only 21 years old.

I posted back in August or September 2008. I FINALLY had my Mirena removed and when I say FINALLY, I mean FINALLY. I went in late October to have it removed only to be told that it could not be located. I then had to have an internal ultrasound to locate the IUD. Thankfully she found it, but I was very scared of the pain of removal that I talked some more with my OB about it and decided to wait until the New Year to see if my symptoms had subsided. My symptoms were namely the horrible acne I started having after insertion. My periods at this point were non-existent, which was nice, but as a 37 year old woman, the acne was more than I could handle. Come 2009, the acne was still there - and when I say acne, I mean acne. I mean hard cystic acne that turns red and does not go away with time and medication. I have been a Proactiv advocate for a long time and sadly not even Proactiv was managing my acne on the IUD. So . . . January I went in to have the Mirena removed. The doctor knew it's general location and tried to remove it. She could not locate it and the procedure was extremely painful. Long story short, I had to undergo out-patient surgery and be knocked out to have it removed. I'm back on the Yaz and am already noticing a difference in my skin!

If you ever struggled with acne during your teens and early twenties, I would think twice about the Mirena. I struggled with acne and was finally at a point where my skin was "maturing" and the Mirena made me feel like that 14 year old with horrible skin all over again.

The thing about 'hormones' and the 'benefits' of birth control is that there are OTHER methods of addressing these things without risking suicidal depression or fatal lung clots!!!! Sure, YAZ may 'work' for you, help your migraines, but, giving ALL of the info on this page ALONE, if I were you, I would seriously consider whether or not any negative affects are 'building up' in your system. Women and female teens are DYING because of this and the worst part of it all? Bayer or whomever is manufacturing this poison has ALREADY 'factored in' the 'collatoral damage' of the female s that will either die from its use or will suffer indefinite debilitating symptoms. That carnage was in their business model even BEFORE it hit the market. So, is a law suit in order - by all means YES!!! Has YAZ 'helped' some women? Perhaps... will those same women that 'benefit' from YAZ suffer in the future on account of this poison? I've STOPPED taking it and who knows how far reaching the will be. My MD did NOT review ONE SINGLE RISK with me NOR did she (and yes, it was a 'she' not a 'he' = unbelievable!) review my family history to determine if YAZ would KILL ME! Good that it helps your migraines which are terrible to deal with... Better if you continue to monitor yourself for possible side effects like those listed on this post. My side effect? I took YAZ for less than one week. On day 2 I was suicidally depressed and felt like DEATH. I cried for 3 DAYS STRAIGHT for NO APPARENT REASON. My head hurt, I could only lay around, I was confused and just ILL! After stopping on day 4, I didn't regain my 'normal self' and am still suffering...

Hi everyone, I have been on Yasmin for 3 years and I found it compared to the other pills I have been on not to bad. I did have the occasional mood swings but it was worse on other types of pills.

However I have as of last week decided to go off it as my partner and I are trying to have a baby! Coming off Yasmin I have found much harder all last week I was in tears over nothing, and the last three days I have had a server headache and dizziness. I assume these will go over time and ill let you know.

Hi I have been taking Yaz since August of 2007. I never connected any of my symptoms with my bc until I recently saw an advertisement on TV for a lawyer who is filing a class action law suit. I then begin to research side effects of Yaz and everything made sense. For the past 1 and 1/2 years I have been to doctor after doctor trying to find out what is wrong with me. It started with fatigue, muscle aches, and a fever that wouldn't go away. I was tested for every disease and problem in the book and sent to doctor after doctor and they never could find out what was wrong with me. Shortly after that in September of 2007 I developed chronic hives that they also couldn't find a reason for. When I asked my dr. if the Yaz could be causing the hives and other problems I was told that it wasn't possible. So I continued to take the Yaz and suffer. I continued to have more and more medical problems. My hair began falling out, I became depressed and tired all the time. I have gained 20 pounds during the time I have been on Yaz. I am only 30 years old and I have always been very healthy and active and been able to maintain a healthy weight with diet and exercise but since being on Yaz it doesn't seem to matter how little I eat or how often I exercise I continue to gain weight. I have been very frustrated. I have had my thyroid tested numerous times because according to my doctors that is what the symptoms that I have been having seem to be but those tests were always negative. I even had doctors and people I know suggest that it's in my head. I just stopped taking the Yaz and I am hopeful that my life will go back to normal. I am now on medication to control the hives and I am hopeful that they will go away once I have been off the Yaz for awhile.

I still currently have Mirena in. I have had it for 2 years 2 months. I am 27 years old. I have had no children. I was on the Depo shot for 8 years. Then switched over to Mirena. I was happy and it worked well for me for about 6 months. Then I began to get the dreaded side effects starting with horrible scaring acne. I got many treatments from my dermatologist including trying to take Yaz birth control (he knew I already had Mirena in) to try to stop the acne. The only thing that did help with the acne was blue light treatment combined with Levulan but I have to go often to get it or else the ance comes back full force and the acne treatment is expensive. For the past year I have had a sharp shooting pain in what feels like my right ovary shooting down my right leg. I went to OB/GYN after multiple pap smears/ultra sounds and blood tests, she couldn't find anything wrong. She sent me to see GI doctor. I went to see him in July 2008. He thought I might have appendicitis so referred me to get abdominal CT scan. Insurance refused to pay. He said I should get a colonoscopy. I refused. I have been ignoring the pain near my right side and down my leg ever since. If I really did have appendicitis my appendix would have burst by now. For the past couple of nights I have begun to have night sweats. I do believe all of the above is related to Mirena. I have begun to discuss with my husband alternate birth control and removal of this thing. If we get a law suit going I want to be involved.

How much you wanna bet that if a commercial came on National TV that said: "If you have had or now have the Mirena IUC and are experiencing the following symptoms:...etc etc etc....please have it removed immediately", women by the hundreds of thousands would suddenly come out from under rocks and having been alerted to what was causing their problems, would have it removed and boy would there be a HUGE class action law suit. (I know there is supposedly one going on or was one but i cant seem to get a response from them.). I just know there are many many more of us but they just have no idea! I emailed everyone, I mean EVERYONE I know to pass along my story and you wouldn't believe how many people wrote back to me and said that they KNEW someone who had the Mirena and was having all those symptoms!! so ladies....put out an email bulletin to all your friends and family so people can be aware. Even if you saved one women, thats more than none!

Hi ladies! I have had Mirena for about 6 months, and at first I did have constant bleeding, but then it stopped and I would have normal periods. I never experienced the depression I have now. I do suffer from an anxiety disorder, but have never ever felt this type of depression before. I don't want to parent my little girl, go out to do things, be at my job, etc. The worst part is the feelings I have about parenting, and I think I started having postpartum depression again. I did not have these feelings right after having Mirena inserted; but have for about 2-3 months now. I am on other medication for anxiety, but I don't think this depression is being caused by my other meds. Have any of you felt this way? Thanks for reading.

Hi My name is Daniela, and I just checked my spam box and saw an e-mail about Yasmin dangerous side effects, I guess it is organized by lawyers that wants you to sign up for a law suit..anyway, that made me really think about it ,and I googled to read more about the Yaz birth control. I have been taking Yaz for 16 months, I just stopped taking the drug , because I had to go to the doctor again to prescribe me some more, but since I don't have health insurance anymore I have postponed the visit. It has been two weeks since I stopped the Yaz an for the last 4 days I have had chest pains all around the breast area, my chest and back will hurt at the same time, I got scared thinking I can get a heart atack, or else. I am 32 years old, and It is very scary to me at that early age to have problems like these. But by reading your complains I am realizing the pain is from these pills. The first 4 months I have been taking Yaz, then I switch to Ocella (generic of Yaz) because it is much cheaper. And thinking back then, I started taking Yaz Oct 2007,, In Jan 2008 I went to see my doctor for depression, I got very angry, explode about stuff, and being depressed, and now I am putting all the pieces together, and I can really see all the similar thing that other women has t experienced during the time they took that medicine. Wow, I am glad that I stopped Ocella. And I will go to my doctor for a full exam.
My dad was telling me how a doctor told my brother that his liver look very bad, the doctor thought he is an alcoholic, but he is not, he just takes a lot of pills about anything to get rid of pain, cold, or else. And that info also made me think about myself. And how I should try to avoid pills to take care of minor headache or pain.
Thanks to all the women for sharing their experience, it has really helped me put the pieces together and help myself, by thinking, not by taking pills.THANK YOU

My experienced with Mirena was my worst experience ever in my life. After I had my first son my doctor and I discussed some suggestions of birth control as I was trying to go back to school. My doctor suggested that mirena would be the best choice because i can have it for up to five years without worrying of getting pregnant; so I agreed with my doctor for i believed she knows more than i do when it comes to birth control methods. I had the mirena inserted in me, but since mirena was put in me I kept having excruciating stomach pain, cramping, bloating, head aches, non-stop bleeding and much more. Finally, after i realized that i could no longer bear the horrible pain of mirena, I decided to have my doctor take it out. However, just after mirena was taken out I had an ectopic pregnancy which caused me to lose one of my folopian, and now I'm only left with one tube. After the bad experience with mirena, i discussed with my doctor to find out if mirena was the cause of my ectopic pregnancy because i used to use other birth control methods, but i never had any terrible problem with them like mirena. My doctor stated that she wasn't sure if mirena was the cause, but I definitely believe that mirena was the cause of my ectopic pregnancy. I am so relieved to know that i am not the only one to have a very bad experience with mirena, and I was also waiting for this day when a law suit can be filed against mirena.

Thanks for allowing me to express my bad experience with mirena,

Hawa!

This is by far the worst medication I have ever taken. For the first time in my life, I really thought I might die. I had the most violent dreams and am extremely tired. I can't stay awake for long durations. My body is currently detoxing off the drug, but after reading this site's posts, I am now worried about permanent damage. This is an extremely dangerous drug! I worked in medical research and usually check drugs out, but did not this time. The memory loss is no joke. Days 3 and 4, I have complete black out periods where apparently I raided the fridge. Day 5, I collapsed and was bed ridden. I could barely get to bed. There's a law firm out of Dallas conducting a law suit. I plan on contacting them.
