Yasmin is the WORST drug out there. I'd been taking Yasmin for 5 months when suddenly one day I had a terrible panic attack and couldn't stop shaking. I went to the ER and they told me I was just having a panic attack so I went home and layed on the couch for about 2 weeks having one panic attack after another and being extremely anxious. Eventually I went to my normal doctor who said Yasmin had nothing to do with it and put me on 37.5mg of Effexor which took away the panic attacks. Eventually I found this website and the Yasmin Survivors website and made the connection. I've been off Yasmin for almost 2 weeks and Im already making a very slow recovery. I don't recommend antidepressants but they are helping me get through it and im hoping very soon I wont need them anymore. This pill is not worth it. It almost ruined my life.

Alright this one time, in hight school, my father let have his suburben. Well i found a suit case with several medications, meprozine,soma,xanax...you know every teen drug-addicted personalities dream. Well i saw the bottle titled "soma", popped 10 and layed down. Well my girlfriend, her friend, came over and i had to take them to cheer-leading practice. I'm all on clound nine...feel like a fog, all good, well we get to driving and i turn up the music, remember i am feeling fckn relaxed as hell. Well i slam into the car in front of me. When i get out all i want to do is fck my girlfriend. This shit was awsome. Though they should slap one of those labels that say "do not operate motor vehicles or machinery" on it. Though i doubt i would have listen anyways. I give soma a 4 out of 5 stars.

I know there are times when people need medication to help them with depression, anxiety, etc. but I really think there are better anti depressants out there. I found effexor HORRIBLE! it was a b**** to get used to, and i was so dizzy, tired, anxious and just felt horrible for a while.
After my body got used to it, it was alright, but trying to get OFF effexor was even worse! i have never experienced anythign like that. I felt SO depressed and anxious and DIZZY and this carried on for about two weeks. I felt trapped. I even took some work off while getting off it because I couldnt' function properly at all. Also, my sex drive went down to zero. I'd defintely reccommend trying out a different anti-depressant than this one.

Hi all,
As so many other people have said...I'm really glad I've found this forum!
I too have gained weight..originally I was put on Paxil during menopause for depression and social anxiety, without being told by the doctor that I would gain weight (40 lbs!), then I was put on Toprol for an irregular heartbeat, not aware that this would make me gain weight too! Now I'm up another 40 lbs, (of course part of this is that I broke my ankle and was layed up for a few months) but still 80lbs, most of it due to drugs! I also have joint pain and nightmares and hair loss. I also have not been able to lose it dieting or exercising. There has to be an alternative. I'm going to make an appointment with my cardiologist and bring him some of these posts as well. I thank everyone for sharing their experiences...I will let you know what tanspires.
Hang in there everyone...

I've only been on the nuva ring for three days now. I hate it. I thought I was getting sick, because the day I put it in I was just exhausted. Then the next morning when I woke up I was sweating and I didn't want to move all day. I was so tired. I felt like if I stood up too long I would fall down. Then when I ate dinner my stomach bloated out like a cow. This morning I was still exhausted and I just layed there crying. I hardly ever get sick, and my symptoms really weren't making any sense.. and then I just put it all together. I'm pretty sure it's the nuva ring that's making me feel like crap. The day I put it in I also got this weird bloody discharge. Also, I haven't necessarily lost my sex drive.. but sex hasn't really been at all enjoyable. I want on a new birth control, but I don't even know what I would want.. the nuva ring is supposed to have the lowest amount of hormones.. so wouldn't anything else just be worse?

I have been taking Advair for about 4 months. I have a lot of sinus drainage,so when it's bad I use Advair 2x a day so I don't end up getting sick. However, this last time I ended up getting an earache. I was wondering if that was related to the drug. Before the ear pain I had a sore throat for about a week and sinus drainage. If I leaned to one side or layed on one side I would have pain on that side of my throat and ear then if I switched sides the other side would be sore. Finally it stayed in one ear and I am going to see my Doc tom. I don't usually get ear infections. I wondered if anyone else experienced increased ear pain. It's almost like instead of drainig it just stayed up in my throat and ears.

I went on geodon for the first and only night last night. I took 80mg at 11pm and went to sleep. Woke up at 2 and intervals after that with a hot sweat, tremors, RACING thoughts and extreme restlessness. Tried to get up and take a xanax and passed out on the floor. crawled back to best essentially and slept for a few more minutes before being awaken over and over again. Got up finally and almost passed out every time i tried to stand for more than 10-15 seconds. Finally layed down then went to ER ar 11am. Could sit up at that point in smallfragments. Left doctors office and could finally walk. At 11pm still feel symptoms. WILL NEVER TAKE THIS DRUG AGAIN.

I received my 3rd injection yesterday for lower back pain.. The fist 2 injections were fine nothing really to complain about, however yesterday I was relaxed it was my 3rd time. I felt a very strange sensation going up and then down to my leg on the left side. When I got up off the table slowly I was very unstable and dizzey. I could not walk without feeling I was going to fall. I walked slowly with the aide of a nurse then I got a horrifc pain in my head over my left eye. I was nauseas. They gave me 2 tynenol which was a joke for a pain like this then 2 advills then oxygen for the pain my husband tells me it took about 45 mins to start felling a little better I was very weak. Today I feel better just left with a normal headace. I dont think I would have gone again if this
was my first time. Can someone answer me and tell me if this was something that could happen to anyone. The Dr. and nurse poo pooed it saying if it was a headace due to the kenalog it would go away when I layed down> I could not lay down the pain was so bad. Thank you all for reading this

I have been taking Geodon for about 4-5 years. I was diagnosed with schizophrena in 97. I had tried Seroquel and Zyprexa prior but quit because I still heard things. I saw things. I had disillusions. On top of this, I have extreme anxiety as a symptom. I saw my doctor as a drug dealer trying to take my money. At $240 an hour, he probably was.
After 2 years of being off the medicine, I was quite a mess. In retrospect, my psychosis was influencing my thoughts. In an attempt to be normal by not being on medication, I had reached a whole new definition of abnormal thinking. I justified it by thinking I was a psychic and not psychotic. Hey, if spirits spoke to John Edwards, why not to me. They do make sense sometimes. They are just intrusive.
I came to a point of depression. I had never thought of killing myself before but it became an obsession. I just wanted it all to end. So back with the doctor and he prescribes me Zoloft and Geodon. The Zoloft had to go after 2 weeks because it made me extremely anxious. Anxiety causes increased thoughts and more anxiety.
I stayed on the Geodon. My doctor said that 120mg was the theraputic dose but I take 80 at night. Does it help. I guess. I have forgotten how I was before it. I still hear voices but my anxiety is under control. I can sleep at night when I take it without feeling like I am privy to some celestrial conversation. I haven't layed in bed worrying for years. I forgot a pill last week and had a restless sleep and that isn't fun.
I get hateful thoughts when I am getting close to the night. Anxiety starts to build and I am uncomfortable for a few hours. It takes about 3 hours for me to have an effect. I don't have the side effects other than insomnia when I skip. Sleep is impossible.
The major problem I have been having lately is with my memory. I feel like I am living life with a chemical labotomy. I can study for tests and pass but then forget the material shortly after. I can't remember if today was yesterday or a week before. This could be because I'm getting old though.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced any "shocking" sensations? My grandmother recently began having strange symptoms which she thinks may be caused by advair. She says that she thought she might be losing her mind because when she layed down at night, it felt like her bed was moving. Come to find out, it was her moving and not the bed; she was experiencing involuntary jerking movements and felt like she was receiving small shock sensations throughout her body. She says that the symptoms have gotten better since she stopped the Advair. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I took Imitrex for the first and my experience started 1/2 hour after I took it. I turned very pale white,my face swelled up I could not breath heart racing so fast I thought that my heart was going to come of my chest, I then became very dizzy and very tired and my arms and legs felt so limp like they were not even there.I could not even think so I layed down and fell asleep and didn't wake up till hours later. My DR. told me I was lucky.
p.s.
Be aware of all your side affects and make sure you ask your Dr.or pharmacy about counteracting with other meds that you take if any.. Imitrex

I am taking methylprednisolone on the 6 day course, am on day two. I am also taking Panlor pain medicine. The combination of these two has produced a very interesting and for me a very pleasing side effect. When I am layed down to sleep, but not quite asleep, I get a somewhat mild euphoria. Then followed by hypnogogic pre-dreamstate imagery that is sexual in nature. Then when actually asleep and dreaming the dreams have been incredibly vivid and intense, in one case a nightmare that resulted in my physically yelling and waking up, which is highly uncommon for me. For me nightmares or intense dreams are a good thing, I am a sometimes lucid dreamer and I enjoy such experiences. I am hoping that these side effects continue. Other than that I get a mildly upset stomach because I do not follow the directions and drink a full glass of water. I should note that this side effect is not present on the Panlor alone, only in combination with the corticosteroid. I was given the steroid to reduce inflamation of my sciatic nerve, and so far it does not seem to have helped, but its only day 2. I might also add that I have been happier, more likely to laugh, although I am not typically depressed or anything, I assume this is a more latent form of the euphoria some people experience.

I STARTED TAKING LEVAQUIN FOR A BLADDER INFECTION, A FEW DAYS LATER I LAYED IN THE TANNING BED AND DEVELOPED A HORRIBLE-ITCHY RASH. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE GOING BACK TO THE DOCTOR BUT I DON'T WANT THE RASH TO GET WORSE.

I was given Levaquin for 10days for reacurring sinus infections and ear infections, the same things happened to me my left shoulder started to cramp up real bad. cavles in both legs started to hurt, as well foot pain, and you can not get to sleep no matter what you take. So far I've been awake for 5 days. When I layed down can't close my eyes to sleep they just pop right back open, this goes on all night. The one time I did drift of to sleep, I woke with my heart pounding from a most horrible realistic dream. And another thing I did not know that if you have any type of vessle disease, it may cause a stroke, now why didn't my Doctor tell me this? probably because he did'nt know either.

I had Mirena inserted about 6 months ago and I am getting it out next week! The convenience of the IUC does not outweigh the side effects in my opinion. First of all it was extremely painful when it was inserted! I almost fainted walking out of Kaiser and layed curled up in bed for the rest of the day. Then I spotted for 3 months straight. I have also experienced acne ever since it was placed and I have never had breakouts this bad in my entire life and I'm 24. I also feel moody and bloated, and this is strange but I started lactating. The doctor said this could be a side effect from Mirena. The product should have been studied more before being released to the public. In my opinion it is not safe. I'm upset that many side effects are not listed about the product and after reading the message boards I am afraid of what else might be happening that I might not be aware of. If I would have known about all of these side effects I would have stuck with birth control pills. I read about miscarriages occurring after Mirena had been taken out and I really hope that's not true because I have no kids of my own and would like to someday. I would not advise to get Mirena. Please save yourself the misery and choose another form of birth control.
