19 years old; got first shot 09/04/07; became ill on 10/06/07, but did not suspect Gardasil; got second shot on 10/30/07. Symptoms: severe acid reflux, vomiting several times a day (every day for 9 weeks), motion sickness, dizziness, ear pain, recurring nausea, severe abdominal pain (especially just before and during menstruation), diarrhea (several times a day), extreme fatigue, weak/achy legs, muscle tenderness throughout the body, recurring headaches, intermittent back pain, weight loss of 25 lbs in 9 weeks. It was is if she had been poisoned. Unable to function; missed classes and had to resign from part-time job. Underwent numerous medical tests; all were normal. Tried several different medications; none were effective. Doctors believe she had an autoimmune reaction to the Gardasil vaccine. After 9 weeks, she recovered on her own. Thank God, she did not get third shot!!! Residual problem as of 08/08: extreme abdominal pains, cramping, and nausea each month during menstruation. Keeping our fingers crossed that there are no future complications.

Please tell me where I can go for help. My mother is having terrible side effects from taking Lipitor a couple years ago. She will need a wheelchair soon. I can't believe so many of her problems are linked to this drug! Her doctors won't even consider the problem being Lipitor. Even though she is off it now, her problems seem to be progressing. Her feet are numb with the numbness moving up her legs. Muscle tone is gone and her left foot hangs. She was diagnosed with dropped foot last year. She also had a pace maker put in after she recovered from pneumonia. She has been told she has spinal stenosis and needs back surgery she probably is too weak to survive. Now she is being treated for neuropathy with no success. Her doctor has done a spinal tap and a nerve biopsy. She has seen a neurologist who sent her to a doctor in Houston. She has had gamma globulin IV's and an IV treatment in the hospital. I don't remember what it was called. Next step is a blood cleansing treatment done in Houston for 2 weeks to remove antibodies attacking the myelin sheath. Her eyes have occasionally hemorrhaged and she faints due to low blood pressure. My mother was very healthy except for slightly elevated cholesterol 3 years ago. What can we do? She is dying.

I have been on statins for 20 years. Started with Mevacor and then Lipitor 10 mg. Had a triple bypass 4 years ago and at that time my Lipitor was raised to 40 mg. I didn't seem to have any problems. About six months ago Zetia, Actos and Glucophage were added and since then it has been a nightmare. I have had general body cramping, fasciculations (twitching) in my legs, muscle pain, lethargy, atrophy of the muscles of my legs (right>left), and foot drop on the right side. Saw Neurologist and had EMG/Nerve conduction studies showing motor nerve deficit in my legs. This is the picture of ALS. I stopped Lipitor about 1 month ago and the rest of the meds about 1 week ago and everything is better (except the foot drop). Hopefully that will improve with time. The problem is that I need those meds. Anyone had problems with lipitor that then switched to another statin without problems? Anyone had problems with Zetia alone? Anyone had problems with Actos or Glucophage?
Thanks,

I am a 52 year old female using Rhinocort for a sinus infection. This is the second day I have used it and I am experiencing very itchy skin on my neck, arms and legs, muscle cramps in my toes, and am also feeling alternately restless and irratable to the point of tears for no reason whatsoever. I am absolutely sure that it is the Rhinocort that is causing all of this.
