I had my Mirena put in Feb 08. I heard wonderful things about it from other women I know who have it. So, I gave it a shot. Wow. I had wonderfully clear skin before the Mirena. Now it is so embarrassing. I get huge pimples all over my chest, my neck, and my face. They are so painful. I have spent so much money on face cleaners and what-not and nothing has worked. Within a week after getting the Mirena put it, I was in the ER for unbearable pelvic pain. I had developed large cysts on both of my ovaries. It was awful.I still get the lovely sharp pains in my pelvic region that will at times make me double over. My periods last a full week now and I can have 2 periods a month (everyone who has it told me they don't even get periods anymore...what gives?). My breasts get so tender that any touch sends me through the roof and outing on and taking off my bra is so painful. And the WEIGHT GAIN. I had just 40 lbs of pregnancy weight and finally started feeling good about myself again. I get the Mirena and I have gained 15 lbs. I am bloated and disgusting. I look 4-5 months pregnant. I feel horrible. I have no health insurance right now and I don't have enough money to pay out of pocket to get the Mirena removed. As soon as I get back on track, I am definitely getting this removed. I can't stand what has happened to me. I look and feel utterly disgusting. :(

I am a 41 year old female in DENIAL about my high blood pressure as I don't drink, smoke and I am a fitness instructor. My BP averaged 145-95 daily. The DR explained TOPROL was designed for someone like me. The med will not be fighting my life style, just the blood pressure. There are no life style changes I can make, it's my dads fault! It's my 4th day, the first being the worst. I had a terrible headache and was wiped out. I am a bit tired today, but not too bad. Better today than yesterday! My BP is 114-71 on average. I have been a migraine sufferer my whole life, the last 3 years being the worst. I'm looking for brighter days! Hang in there. More women die from Heart disease than breast cancer.

On December 5th, I reported that, after stopping the Metoprolol, I was having some minor withdrawal symptoms. As an update, this week has not been good. I've had tightness in the chest, sleeping poorly and some gastric problems. It is now three weeks since the last dose. How long does it take to become symptom free?????

The main side effect for me has been urinating frequently. That inconvenience is worth it when you consider the value it has in preventing many strokes and heart attacks. I have made life-style changes like exercise that have brought my bp down from 142/90 to 122/82, but I still take half a 50/75 Maxzide several times a week just for the protection.

i LOVE Ovcon 35. i have tried 3-4 diffn't BC Pills and have come back to Ovcon. I lost weight (of course, with daily life style changes) and have not experienced any "bad" side effects. My periods last 2/3 days and i get my period on the same day each month. To avoid any naseau from BC Pills, a hint from my gyno is to take your pill before bedtime, so that you sleep through any naseausness. I have not experienced any emotional imbalances associated with Ovcon (you know, the psycho/schitzo/tearful dramas). Ovcon will be with me until I NEED to go off the pill. Highly recommend this pill
