Has anyone been LOOSING their HAIR on this pill. My daughter is taking to regulate her periods and so far she has turn from a sweet layed back princess to a hateful unbearable wench!!!! She has had all of the symptoms I'm reading about PLUS one!!!! She has been LOOSING her HAIR and its BREAKING OFF along the hairline making it look like someone is cutting it off and this, as a 14 yr teenager, is worse (for her) than all the other symptoms put together!!!! Of course, she's not affected by her thinking the world is coming to an end and arguing about everything she can and thinking I'm the dumbest person in the world!!! Wait! You think that has something to do with her age? lol In all seriousness if anyone is experiencing hair loss tell me about it. I'd like to make sure it is the medicine. Thanks!

I was on Lisonpril for three months, then switched to Diovan due to the cough caused by Lisonpril...but at least I could read that side effect in the prescription warning. There was no warning of weight gain with my current prescription of 1/2 pill a day(180mg). I have been on Diovan for three months and have cut caffeine and increased my exercise. At first the drug lowered my bp from 150/102 to 125/85 which I thought was great..but my bp has been slowly increasing. I started at 130 lbs and am now 150lbs...I have gained over 20lbs since starting the drug. I've experienced painful gas and insomnia. I am only 41 and two flights of stairs and I'm out of breath. A drug you take to make you feel better shouldn't make you feel worse. I'm going to try to use more natural methods.

In my opinion, Lisinopril is a silent and deadly killer. I was on the original drug Zestoretic for a long time without any problems. Within the first 24 hours of tasking Lisinopril I became very ill. I was on a trip and did not immediately realize it was caused because they switched me to the generic version called lisinopril. I have not had any other side effects from any other generic, nor do I have a problem with generics...only generics that posion the user!!!
I have had blurred vision, confusion, eye problems, heart palpitations, weight gain, sweating, rashes, and blood pressure that either falls to dramatic lows or rises to dramatic highs. I have lost feeling in my right foot and now am starting to experience numbness in my hands and other extremities. I have complained to doctors, pharmacists and to my medical provider. I am now in the process of fighting the state I live in to carry and cover the real product, Zestoretic, for me in my insurance. I have made at least twenty or more attempts to get this straightened out but all of my warnings are falling on deaf ears. Five of my other friends were put on Lisinopril in the last year. Most thought I was just being too radical about the effects of the drug. They used it and got by for about three to six months.
Guess what? They are all having serious side effects now too. Three have ended up in the hospital. One with a heart attack. One with a mild stroke. And a couple with kidney problems. My liver began to fail me and now my doctor wants to send me to a neurologist.... I know what the problem is. Believe me. I will switch back to Zestoretic this Monday. but here's the killer punchline America. Prinzide no longer makes their safe version. It is discontinued and from what I understand, Zestoretic has stopped producing all but one strength...their 20/25. My guess is with Walmart selling the generic for $4 bucks for a month's supply...it won't be long until Astra Zeneca pulls the 20/25's off the market... Got the picture!!!!!!!! Posion or nothing. P/S I will wriotge back aftger I have been on the Zestoretic for a week.

I am a 36 year old guy, i went to the doctor six weeks ago and had pretty high blood pressure, 200/100. She suggested I get on Lisonpril - 10 and Lipitor 20, metformin 1000. At the same time I started doing some research on the side effects of these drugs and they were pretty bad. I felt some of them mildly. But I did find a book, The Dash Diet for Hypertension Lower your Blood Pressure in 14 Days - without drugs by Thomas Moore, M.D. . I fallowed the suggestion and drastically changed the way I ate overnight. Cut out all bad food. I also cycle stationary bike for about 30 to 45 minutes. I added a lot one serving of oatmeal a day and cheerios every morning. It seemed to have done the trick for me. My blood pressure has come down as well as cholesterol to normal levels. The doc also agreed to lower my meds by half. So now 5 lisinopril and 10 lipitor. I am shooting for no meds in six months. I do still go out but go to places that serve a more natural selection. I hope this helps some of you out there.

after starting Diovan HCT 160 mg. it reduced my bp from over 150/90 to around 120/76- this went on for about a month, but now my bp keeps creeping up again to over 138/85 or 145/88, etc. But I have no side effects.
why is that?

II have been taking Lisonpril at 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg doses for the better part of a year. I have gotten over the cough but it does not seem to lower my BP that much and have experienced severe nervous reaction to the drug. !0mg is about all I can tolerate. My Doctor wanted me to keep increasing the dose up to 40 mg if I had to. When I reached 20 mg twice things got worse with no significant decrease in BP. I also began to experience a pain in my fingers as if I had arthritis. I take a dose in the morning and then about mid morning to Noon my ears begin to tighten up, some slight light headedness and I get nervous. Some of these nervous attacks have actually exasperated the BP problem by raising it. The Doctor prescribed some Xanex to take when this happens but do not want to get too hooked on taking it.
I also take Vitamins and Thyroxine(Synthroid) and wonder if there could be some interaction with this.
Has anyone experienced these symptoms especially the nervous reaction and light headiness??

I experienced a hike in b/p after taking benedryl. I was placed on Lisonpril. After two weeks, I experienced extreme difficulty walking, weakness and fatigue, vertigo, persistent cough, panic attacks and anxiety. My skin felt like I was bathed in menthol or vicks vapor rub. I am not sure if it is the same "tingling" or "burning" that has been reported by others. E/r visits, ekg, cat scans, blood tests came back normal. I received inconsistent medical advice from e/r docs, cardiologist and internist (i.e. stay on the med, but change it, take it only if your b/p is high, get off of it completely- you dont have high b/p and dont need it). I decided to get off of it. Its been three weeks off the Lisinopril. I have improved daily; however, I am not back to normal. Anxiety and "menthol-like" skin sensations still remain. This web site has helped tremendously with jsut knowing that I am not crazy or alone. Thanks.

My doctor switched me from Cozaar to Lisnopril at my request. The Cozaar was $40.00 with my insurance -- Lisonpril is $10.00. I think I'm going back to Cozaar. In the last two weeks, I've developed a pain that starts at the base of my head, behind my right ear, and travels down my right arm and into my back. I'm pretty sure it's from the Lisnopril, as weird as that may sound (My mother has the same pain and she also takes Lisnopril. She also has the hacking cough, something I haven't developed yet). I'm also having headaches at the top of my head -- something I've never had before.

I have had severe boughts of diahrrea. I never noticed a problem until my doctor put me on lisonpril along with metformin and flouxetine. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and was placed on metforming and flouxetine and now the doctor was concerned with my blood pressure fluctuating to the higher side and so he suggested the bp medication. I talked with the doctor about this diahrrea and they suggested I take my meds at a different time during the day and for a week and see if there is a change? If anyone else has had diarrhea like severe, please contact me

I was on 10 mg of Lisinopril for 2 weeks. After quitting, major side effects of the drug gradually subsided (including ringing of the ears, headache, sleeplessness, nausea, fatigue, general flu-like symptoms, panic and anxiety). I'm now 2.5 weeks off the med and was feeling fine but suddenly had a flare up of sleepless night followed by 2 days of nausea, dizziness, irritability and depression. This spell came just after I played an aggressive soccer game. Does vigorous exercise trigger recurring spells?
