I had my Mirena IUD inserted back in August and for the last 7 months I have had the period from HELL! its been on and off literally for the last 7 months, I am tired all the time and when I say all the time I mean it! I am usually in bed by 8:30pm...so between the periods and the sleeping you can kiss any sex life I could have had good bye. My moods are out of this world I can cry at the drop of a hat and then be completely pissed the next second. I haven't experienced any weight gain but I can't loose any weight either. I also feel hungry all the time as many of you have mentioned...its a never ending cycle!!!! I am going in tomorrow and just getting it removed cause I can't take this any more I am sure I'm super anemic now...and to have clear skin again would be nice! Thanks for all your input...it has made my decision that much easier.

I took Pseudovent for decongestion and 400mg of Motrin for sore throat. I was litterally up all night, and I was very nervous, and I had to continue to towel dry the sweat of my body throughout the night.

Thank you Ladies! I was up in the middle of the night last night researching YAZ because I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I woke up shaky, heart racing, sweating. It just wouldn't go away. Almost got my daughter and husband up to take me to ER. Then I read all the entries in this blog and was convinced it was the BCP. I got into see a doc in the am. She wasn't my normal doctor, so all I wanted was an overall check. She did EKG, blood and just an overall check -Normal. However, I did have a high pulse. That fluctuates throughout the day anyway, but again it was fast even at rest into the next day. I asked her if YAZ was the cause for this and she said probably not because I was only on it for 1 week. I had switched from being on OrthoTriCyclen. I switched because of depression, long periods, bloating, cramping... I might as well had been on no BCP than OTC. The strange thing was I had been on OTC for 5 years prior to having my first child (3 years ago) and loved it! Which makes me think your body chemistry is always changing. Anyway, my first week on Yaz was MISERABLE! I had constipation, dry mouth, exessive urnation, deydrated eventhough drinking 8 glasses of H2O a day, shaky muscles, muscle fatigue, muscle cramping, low libido, sweating, hot at night, loss of appetite, feeling cloudy in the head- like I hadn't slept for a couple of days, but not tired and then finally the heart issue. I went off of it and I slept like a champ last night. I think I still must have some residual hormones in my body but am convinced it will go away in the next week or so. I wanted to mention at the doc's office when I asked her about the potassium increase that could happen with YAZ, she had no idea that was a side effect. So, she wanted to find out more and had a little book, like a mini phone book, full of all the drugs and their side effects. She got to the page and was astounded by the number of side effects for a BCP. It took up a whole page of the book. She told me she had not seen so many side effects for a BCP ever! I got my potassium checked and it turned out fine. But, if you do have muscle issues go get that checked, b/c potassium is a big component to muscle health. What is odd is sister is on YASMIN and loves it! as well as many of her friends. She told me I would have really sore breasts the first couple of months, but that was about it.

I started taking Dox. because I lost my baby.. and my doc. prescribed it to me so i wouldn't get an infection. Im only supposed to take it for ten days.. its day seven and I have this burning sensation that is on my hands.. My hands are all red where its burning me.. The odd thing is it started with my knuckles.. and now it has spread. The weird part is that Its only on the tops of my hands..
I talked to my Pharmasist.. and he said that it was a rare side effect..
I have never heard of an ANTIBODIC that would make your hands burn..
I stopped taking it because my hands are litterally on fire..
If anyone else has gone through this please tell me what you have done to get them to stop burning..
I tried Aloe.. and it worked for ten minutes.. cold water makes it worse along with hot water.. putting pressure helps for a few seconds.. the only releif that I have found is blowing cool air on them..

hi kim123.
i did not take lexapro, i tried diazepam for a very short while but it did not help me long term,it just took the edge off.i stopped it because it is very addictive. i did use the linden method,it is very good but i just did not have the time to do all the realxation cd's as i have 2 small children and getting 20 mins silence in my house would be almost as much of a miracle as me waking up cured! i imagine any kind of relaxation tape would be good.you need to relax your body and relax your mind, the linden method tapes basically tell you that your anxiety cannot hurt you and you do visualisations that include filling up imaginary clouds with your fears etc. if you have the time to do it then i recommend it. i also read loads of books on positive thinking and changing your life by changing your thought patterns. i know how you feel right now. i used to wake up and feel ok then within litterally seconds of getting up i would be full of fear and anxiety.i no longer feel that way.so it will get better for you to. if you do not want to increase your dose of lexapro then try the relaxation techniques.you can do it yourself by finding a comfy spot and thinking of a lovely peacefull scene, relax all your muscles and fill your mind with positive thoughts like how strong you are and how wonderfull your life, tell yourself you have no room for fear and negative thoughts, imagine a cloud and send all your negative thoughts into the cloud and just let them float away. it will take a while but you will feel more relaxed day by day.

Am I going crazy? I've been taking yasmin for only three weeks, i started having horrible back pain a few days ago that wont go away, and for the past three days i've litterally crying non stop and i dont know why which makes me cry more and have been very short tempered with my boyfriend over stupid things that dont matter at all. bless his heart because he probably thinks i'm crazy...I'm really considering stopping it because the only reason i was put on it was because i had a cyst on my ovary and its gone now so i figure from what everyone else is saying the sooner you quit taking it the better.

someone please tell me i'm not going crazy

thanks,
steph

During the first month of use I had a severe migrane headache. It was the worst headahce of my life. I litterally could not stand up for an entire day, if I did I felt light headed and my heart rate was very fast. I also had a numbness in my fingertips. It only lasted one day but it was VERY severe. My Dr. said to discontinue Nuva Ring

I was driving in rush hour traffic and I suddenly felt like I had pressure on my chest, the inability to take in enough air; was nauseated and going to faint. I was so frightened, I called a friend to tell her where I was because I litterally thought I was having a heart attack. She stayed on the phone with me and I kept driving, but the symtoms got worse and worse...I stopped by the road and called my son to come and get me. I was so dizzy that I couldn't even stabilize my vision.

He came and took me to urgent care...they checked me out and gave me an EKG...it came out fine.

The feeling subsided later in the evening and the next day it started again; only worse. All I got from the doctor was a $200 bill (I have no insurance.)

The dizziness is strong ans scary...the nausea is dibilitating; the dry cough, at night while lying down, especially is irritating and the sleeplessness is really getting to me.

I scanned the internet for answers and all I found was that panic anxiety disorder had the same sort of symptoms, but I couldn't imagine that would creep up on me so fast and every day??

Today, I feel the nauseating feeling again...the slight headache and I have had cramps on my feet for about 3 weeks now...amd the dizziness is so scary, especially when you have to drive 30 miles to work...

Today it hit me; LISINOPRIL...I took it about a year ago and felt the same way and guess what I starting taking again just over 3 weeks ago for my blood pressure? Yep...

I am NOT taking another pill...I am on hydrochorothiazide and I will have to find another way to control my blood pressure that rest of the way...diet ans exercise to start.

Thank you all so much for your testimonials, because you just made my life a lot brighter....and I think we should turn an attorney on to this site...we have been in a living hell because the makers refuse to believe us!

This is awful, I've been on singulair now for around 11 months and have gained around 15 pounds, it never occured to me that it was the singulair (i came of the birth control pill for 2 months and I still gained weight). I don't know what to do as I will die (litterally ) without it. Still does great with my asthma

VERY dizzy and feel disoriented, my dr. prescribed ultracet to me for my chronic neck pain, i have tried everything you can think of to help ease the pain, nothing helped until this med. however it does make me really dizzy, especially noticeable the next morning, i litterally feel like my eyes are crossing a feeling i get when i am extrememly sleepy. this time when i took my ultracet last nite, i also began itching, it seems unlikely that it is an allergic reaction to the medication because i ahve taken before and taken it several times with this not happening. i also noticed i am very grumpy when i take it, i never would have thought it was because of the ultracet until i read it on here! all in all i think this is a good medication for people who have pain and nothing has worked for them....
