Local health symptoms and conditions

this is my first post. i've had most of the same side effects as everyone else. i called my ob's office to have it removed and they tried to talk me out of it too. told me to come and do some tests to see if it's something else. then (blessing in disguise) i lost my job before my appointment. i call my local health dept. and ask if they can remove my mirena, and they say sure, can you come in tomorrow. no questions, no trying to talk me out of it. the cost is a sliding scale based on your income. i think they also take insurance.

Hey I see Im not the only one with problems that the doctors blam on other things!! I have always been so healthy UNTIL I had twins in Feb 06 and had Mirena put in Oct 06 and almost immediately started having side effects.I started to read up and realized the ones I had were all listed as side effects with it.The first side effects weren't that bad but OMG now I am horrible.I have so many side effects and am wondering if anyone is in the same boat??Mine are:weight gain,hair loss,facial hair,migraines,irritability,fatigue,NO sex drive,anxiety,depression,fluttering in my stomach,back and joint pain,pain during sex,stomach spasms,the list goes ON and ON, oh and lets not forget they say I have PCOS!! Now I wish they could tell me how I went from perfectly healthy to THIS!! I have been to 3 different docs and asked to have it removed but surprise surprise they all did not want to remove it and now I have NO insurance..I am to the point if I could take the thing out myself I would!! I am SOOO miserable and if I say I want it out who are they to tell me no?? Can anyone else relate?? I AM GOING CRAZY!!!

I have had the Merina IUD for almost a year now ,, when I got it put it I thought I was gonna faint it was so painful,, I have had severe cramps non stop since I have had the IUD,, I have made several trips to the ER and they try to make it out like ive just got an infection ,well things never got any better so i kept on going until they told me something that was worth hearing well sure enough about 6mnths after having my IUD I got told that I had a 3cm by 3cm mass on my uteras that some women experience with an IUD and still its in my uteras right along with the IUD ,, and like all the other women out there having problems ,, I have experienced low sex drive , sever irritability, weight gain, and im just plain oumit miserable. I have been having an awful fishy smelling discharge for the past 3 months, and like most women my OBGYN tries to throw the truth of the matter off and try to make it out like im crazy,, heck no!! im not crazy and I know my body and I know this just aint normal,,so I made me an appointment at my local Health Dept to get this thing out of Sooo!!! to all the women out there that want an IUD I don't recommend it,, Its dangerous and all it does is destroy your body and your life :(.....I hope all goes well with all of you , best wishes and good luck!! I noticed I didn't put my side effects. They are "Charlie horses" or leg cramps, I don't eat like I use to, back pain, tingling shoulders, neck pain, bloating out of this world, chest pains, and heart palpations. The bad thing is I called my local health unit and they told me to continue taking the pill. What should I do?

I had gotten Mirena a while back.(maybe 2 years ago) Everything seemed fine to me. But then I started getting really sick, and getting headaches. It was the strangest thing. It seemed like every weekend, there was one day where I was so sick that I couldn't get out of bed. I was throwing up at least 5 times a day, and couldn't eat or drink anything without it coming right back up immidately. All while having an awful pain in my lower neck area, and was very sensitive to light. It was horrible and very stressful, being the mother of a young child and sick almost every weekend.
I went to my doctor, after suffering through this for many months, and she told me I was having migraines. I had no idea because I had never had one in my life, prior to getting mirena. She gave me a perscription for migraine medication. My nausea was so bad that I had to get a nasal spray version of the medication, because I would throw up the pills before they got a chance to work.
So... months went by... I was waiting for things to get better. They didn't. And I got the mirena removed, and went back on the depo shot (only to gain 20 lbs in less than a year)
Now here's the strange thing. The nausea stopped (which is fantastic) but I haven't been using mirena for about a year now, and I still am getting the migraines. They aren't nearly as otfen, or as severe, but when I do get them, they are bad enough that I need to take my perscribed medication to make them go away, and take a really long nap in hopes that it will be gone by the time I wake up. I can't go to work, and I have to keep the lights off in the house until it goes away, and my poor son is looking to play with his mom, and all she can do is sleep.
Why is this?
How can I still be having side effects from something that I haven't used in almost a year?
Will this go on for the rest of my life?
Am I the only one that this happened too?
I really need some answers...

It's too bad that I had these side effects, because I would have loved to continue to using it. So if you are looking into this product, keep in mind that it hurts to get put in... but it works great IF you don't get painful migraines and spend a whole day throwing up stomach acid. It's your choice.
