i was on lisinopril for a year and a half when it hit me like a ton of bricks.... i was twenty three years old and in super health, other than the moderatly high bp. i became very tired and dizzy like someone flipped a switch. At first i thought i was just coming down with a bad cold but after a week i knew it most have been somthing more. I was tired all the time, had problems with my sinuses, headaches, nausea, heart palpatations, dizzy, felt like i was going to faint all the time. I couldn't get to sleep at night and if i did i didn't want to get up in the morning. Even after 10 hrs of sleep i felt like i had just played two football games. I am one of the most optomistic people you will ever meet and i felt like i was going to die... I had no idea what was going on with me. I saw many doctors and they all told me that it was in my head. I felt this way for over a year when i suggested to my Dr that maybe it was the lisinopril. She really didn't think so but we stopped taking it and started a beta blocker. i have been off the lisinopril for 4 months and feel a ton better but still have a long way to go. Could anyone tell me how long this will last and what i could do to speed up my recovery... thanks CP

Been on warfarin about 3 weeks due to an a-fib condition.. Dose is 2.5mg a day. Since starting I cannot sleep, feel very tired and fatigued and slight sour stomach. Doctors say this is due to the a-fib but I don't think so. All I hear from my doctors is no side effects. Hs anyone else experienced these symptoms, and/or is there a website where I can find some answers.

I have been taking zocor for about 3 years. Started out with 10 mg every other day, then every day; for nearly the last year I have been taking 20 mg once a day. It did lower my cholesterol enough to suit the doc. Did not really notice any symptoms at first. It seems I have been noticing more and more problems recently. Especially after my husband decided to tell me that he thinks something is very wrong. Maybe my problems are just age related. Most recently I have had two falls brought on by a simple "toe stubbing". For the past 3-4 months I have had unrelenting lower back pain and hip pain. Both to the point that I can't sleep and am having trouble walking. All of that I attributed to arthritis which I do have in my hands. The tingling, pins/needles sensations and foot pain started over 2 years ago but my doc said that couldn't be the zocor. My liver function was normal every time he checked. Diabetes has been ruled out. I am overweight so I just wrote off the fatigue to that. But - three years ago I was walking daily on our farm - up and down hills for over one hour at a time - and teaching high school full time. I am retired now and I don't think I could do that much walking because of the pain and stiffness. Does any body know how long it will take me to get rid of the symptoms? I stopped the zocor without the doc's knowledge day before yesterday.

hi abs528, i am starting to feel better but i have learnt not to take anything for granted i just take it one step at a time,i still wake up with a sore throat most days and still get bad headaches. i will have been off yasmin for 2 weeks on monday. my anxiety levels have dropped quite a lot,i used to have days when i would feel really scared all the time but it does not seem as bad now, i have a long way to go because i have felt like that for a year i had developed a mild case of agoraphobia which is a real problem as i have 2 children and i feel terrible that i have stopped taking them out to fun places as i was always worried i would have a panic attack, but now i feel stronger hopefully i can overcome those once and for all...i am going to do my best! i just wish i had found this site a year ago when all my symptoms atrted,i would have stopped taking yasmin immediately,i only started taking it because my skin kept braking out in spots after i stopped breast feeding my youngest,i wish i had just tolerated the spots.

I have taken Lipitor for 4 years. Two months ago, my walk became off balance. Soon after I began to have sever muscle aches and weakness. I have low back and hip pain, upper shoulder & arm weakness and difficulty holding a pencil. I have been walking with a cane and sometimes need a walker. I have been unable to work for the last 6 weeks. My doctor continues to say it is not the lipitor because side effects happen within the first few months. Only after finding this website am I convinced this is the problem. I took myself off lipitor 6 weeks ago and have had some improvement, but have a long way to go. Is there anything I can do to reverse any of these problems?

To guest 13095
Don't worry about something else being wrong for now, the side effects and withdrawal are awful no matter how long or how much u take of pred. Hang in there. I've been off of pred. since June 10 and I was on it for 4 yrs. I'm having a horrible time with withdrawal. Be very thankful u were not on it very long. As with gypsi and others, the self-esteem seems to disappear when pred. comes into our lives. The weight gain, insomnia, moodiness, sweating, aching, fever, hand tremors, etc. All r a part of side effects and withdrawal. My blood pressure is going crazy, high and low. Does anyone have any advice on this? Take one day at a time and know u will get better. It does take some time to get over this, I have a long way to go and today I feel like going to the hospital, but, I know after while I will feel different. Check on some posts from jules777. I'm not sure about all the "natural" ways but what have we got to lose? I'll try anything right now to feel better. Today is miserable. Keep me in your prayers out there. Thanx, I appreciate it lots. January 2005 I had a work related medical, heart (EEG), blood pressure, cholesterol, gulcoses, weight perfect. Doctor mentioned I was very weezy in chest, I still smoked then as well, not anymore. I stated I was a mild hayfever & bronchical asthma sufferer, not on medication. Prescription Singulair. So I tried it!!! Initially I improved, my breathing, my reaction to different air temperatures, walking up hills, hayfever etc. March 2005 I went to the bathrm at 3am and fainted!!! I believe I was then misdiagnosised - maniac depressant, full of anxiety, even irregular levels of nervosis where detected in a brain electrodes analysis. Presciption Trazodone-antidepressant. Symptons persisted, dizziness, faintness, irregular energy levels, weight gain, bad moods, muscle tension in neck/shoulders, fear of life/social activity. I´ve stopped Singulair & in 10 days I feel a little back to normal. But I have a long way to go still, now I have to get off the antidepressants. Could all my suffering be related to Singulair????? My guest is, it is more than possible, especially after reading all the posted side effects - Merck & Sharp also produced it - look what suffering they caused with "VIOXX" - arthritic painkiller, even death!!

I had major sinus problems due to an infection that was never treated properly. I should have gone to the doctor sooner and when I did they mis-diagnosed it. It got into the bones of my skull. I eventually went on singulair because I had asthma. I thought it was the prednisone I was on that was making me weak. It was the singulair. I was on it about four and half years. I withered away to nothing. They said it would help my sinuses. I was constantly getting sinuses infections and using prednisone until I stopped the singulair. My muscles completely atrophied. I couldn't even get up from the floor or walk or even stand up for long. Once, I got off singulair my breathing got better, my sinuses even got better. I've been off about 15 months and am getting stronger but I still have a long way to go to walk and get out of the house. I used to take it at night and I immediately would feel to tired to do anything. While I was on singulair I was always getting what felt like the flu or colds. My asthma and sinuses were helped greatly by upper cervical specific chiropractic adjustments. You'll know if it is the right kind of chiropractor because he will use a dual probe on your neck to measure a heat reading. This is called pattern analysis. They only adjust the upper neck.

Hi all

I really feel for all those of you who had all these horrid side-effects from Yasmin. I have had some of them too, but while taking two other brands of BC pills. I cant tell however, if the problems were actually caused by the pills or from something else.

After taking Yasin for 5 months now I can honestly say Its my favourite from the ones I tried. My periods are very light, no cramps, no bloating and no mood swings, all of which which I really suffered from while being off pills completely. Also, my skin cleared up nicely after about the 8th week on Yasmin.

The only thing I can complain about is vaginal dryness and decreased sex drive, but I had that from the other pills as well. Of course, after reading all your posts I feel concerned, but as long as it continues to work fine for me, I'll stick with Yasmin. The pill I took before this one was Desolette, a brand that here in Europe is subject to lots of lawsuits. My new gynecologist refuses to prescribe it but its still sold.

I would'nt take BC pills at all if it wasnt for my bad cramps and really long periods. Sometimes I wonder if its worth all the risks. But each time Im off the pill I have to put my life on hold for 10 days or so each month.

It seems that there is a long way to go to find a pill that is completely safe (im unsure there will ever be).

My husband was also recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. He just turned 60, was active and healthy, but had according to the new guidelines high cholesterol. When he first started the "shuffle", muscle pain and weakness, sore joints, etc. his doctor's first thoughts were the symptoms might be caused by Lipitor. He was told to stop taking Lipitor for two weeks. His condition didn't improved and he was instructed to start taking the Lipitor again and his doctor referred him to a neurologist. After testing the neurologist diagnosed early Parkinson's. The neurologist also said that there is no test to determine if a patient has Parkinson's, i.e. blood test, and that the diagnosis is based on the physical condition of the patient. The neurologist gave my husband a prescription for the Parkinson's and when I picked it up I spoke to the pharmacist about the side effects of the Parkinson's and Lipitor medications. He said he would suggest my husband discontinue the use of Lipitor and try other ways to control his cholesterol. I found his comments very interesting and started researching Lipitor. After reading page after page of the same side effects I'm certain my husband's diagnosis is incorrect and all the symptoms are side effects of Lipitor. A week ago he took my advice and stopped taking the Lipitor. He said the dizziness is mostly gone and I think his walking and arm movements have improved, but he has a long way to go and hopefully, the side effects are reversible.

I read in the UK version of side effects that you do have to be under doctor's supervision to come off advair (which should tell us something) to watch for adrenal gland problems. (I don't think some doctors even know what they are prescribing and what the side effects are! I'm not that cynical, to think they might be getting some perk and don't care.) I go back to my doctor after 6 weeks after coming off advair. He gave me Proventil and I have an epi pen in case I need them. I haven't needed them. But, I know I have a long way to go.
