I had my mirena coil fitted 7 months ago by choice after an early stage miscarriage in April-my second in 15 months. My husband and I decided that we would not go for another baby(we have 3 great kids aged 4-14)and the mirena was the obvious choice.I had previously had the mirena 9 years before with absolute success and only had it removed as it was 5 years old. I experienced all the usual early settling niggles(bleeding, bloating, tiredness etc)but for the last 6 weeks every time i visit the loo there are strandy brown blood clots (old blood)My first thoughts were that the mirena has moved but length of strings suggests not.I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this as i know i did not have this problem with my last mirena?

Started in Jan. this year on 10mg dose. Came off in May for three months as I was experiencing nausea, joint pain and depression. Had to go back on last week as cholesterol is sky high. This time 40mg - feel violently sick, keeping going to the loo about -10 times between 7am and 10 am. and so tired am staying in bed most of day. Phoned the pharmacist today who says to stop taking over the weekend see my doctor on Monday as there is an alternative to Simvastatin that does not given so many problems and to try taking porridge each morning as this can significantly reduce cholesterol naturally?? Will give it a try, YUKKK......

I had mirena placed in may08. Things went relatively well. However, I have had lots of cramping and low back pain. I have NO sex drive!! I have spotting for weeks at a time. I have lots of burning, here and there, when I pee, and lots of cramping after. I've been losing lots of hair. Recently, I've started having lots of clear, gooey discharge. And frequent bouts of nausea. And when I do have sex, OH MY GAWD!!! The pain after is unbearable. Often I get so much stomach and back pain, I vomit. This is not something for me.

I´m 55 years old, and been taking Diovan 80 gr for more than three years now. Never had any problem, and my blood pressure is really under control. But lately I´ve been experiencing dizziness.Decided to reduce the doses to half a pill per day, and felt better. Did several tests with a cardiologist, and all seems OK, except that my blood pressure was again a bit high, and he recommended me to continue with the 80 gr doses. The Doctor attributed the dizziness to low mineral water intake. So I am now drinking 2.5 ltr of mineral water a day, but besides going very often to the loo, the dizziness did not disappear. Is it possible the Diovan is the cause.

Hi everyone i just started taking yasmin a week an a half ago and was told by the doctor that this is the best one out there for people wanting less side effects. Previous to this pill i was on levlen ed for about 1 1/2 years and i had
: weight gain, depression, anxiety, crying constantly, mood swings, bloating, IBS, severe reaadtions to caffeine i had to change to caffeine free soft drinks and water
as soon as i went off this pill i lost 5 kg in 2 weeks i really want to know if yasmin is ok to take or should i just stick to nothing because im seriously worried about having these symptoms again the weight gain especially!
any success stories on this pill or anything would help me make up my mind

hi virginia,
i have not personally tried lexapro but it sounds like you, like me have developed and anxiety disorder through the chemically induced panic attacks. have you looked up the symptoms of GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) this describes the physical sensation of feeling anxiety every day. luckily there are ways to treat it that do not involve drugs. have you tried looking at the linden method? i used this in the beginning and although i did not follow it religiously it gave me enough understanding of the condition to be able to start fighting it on my own. i have been off yasmin since june and am not 100% cured but on a good day i feel 95% better than i did. i can sleep now without the constant sense of nervousness,i don't worry about the palpitations any more as i know they are not harmful it is just my body reacting to an odd thought that has crossed my mind. i do still get a little anxious about going shopping or being in the car for long periods of time but that is because i suffer from diarreah when i get nervous or have a panic attack!!! not very convenient in a car with no loo in sight! i often wish i was one of the people that vomits in a panic attack as that is more socially acceptable..charmin subject i know!!! but i do see the funny side of it (when i'm not in a car with no loo in sight!) have you thought about trying hypnotherapy or accupuncture, they are meant to be very good for anxiety, you could also look up eft (emotional freedom technique) it is based on accupressure but is a series of taps that you perform on yourself whilst repeating positive affirmations,i tried it,it was very relaxing.not sure if it helped but i felt stronger just knowing that i was doing something. please don't feel depressed just because your doctor gave you these pills, you know from experience they don't always know best...if they did they would never prescribe yasmin again! your doctors just do not have the time of the resources to be able to discuss all the different options and treatments with you, they just do what is quick and easy which is write you a prescription, that is their job but it does not mean it is right for you. you can recover from this, you are stronger than you realise, look how far you have come already.you can do this virginia, have faith in yourself. i read a book called feel the fear and do it anyway,it is not really about anxiety disorders but it really fills you with a sense of power about facing your fears head on,it gave me the strength to try and get my life back, life is too good to just give up on,we need to make the most of the time we have here, make it count and have fun!!!! i read a great poem the other day about someone making a speech at a funeral. they were talking about the headstone with the birth date and the date of death. they said that the most important thing about that stone is the dash between the dates, that is where your life is,what you do with it makes a difference to so many people. i thought that was so true,we can't waste our dash just because of some stupid pill and a set of memories and odd feelings!!! get out there and enjoy your dash virginia, leave the lexapro on the counter or take it back to your doctor and tell them you don't need their chemicals, you can heal yourself because you are strong! you'll be amazed at how much you can do if you stop listening to your fear,it can't hurt you,the worst that can happen is it may get the better of you and you have a panic attack...so what, you've had them before,it didn't hurt you,you didn't die. you may feel a little embarrased but so what, who cares, people are kinder than you think, they would probably help you if they saw you suffering,i know i would. if not so what, you are out there and you are doing it,who cares what people think, you are not likely to see most of them again anyway! i have been where you were and still am a little but i will not be beaten or waste my life and i'm sure you won't either.
sorry if it sounds like i am preaching but i feel so strongly about this that i get a little carried away sometimes!!!!!!!
all the best to you virginia.
remember. love many, trust few, but always paddle your own canoe! life is what YOU make it......make it good again!

emotionally i am doing much better,i am however having major troubles with my (ahem!) bowels! i seem to be going to the loo about 15 times a day,i think it is a recurrence of IBS but it is really throwing me off because i like to know i am not going to need the bathroom when i am out! this brings up my panic attack worry which in turn sets off my nervous stomach! i have not had these problems for about 12-13 years and i can only attribute it's return to all the problems i had while taking yasmin,i am taking various remedies to try and calm it down again, hopefully once the yasmin is out of my system and my anxiety levels are back to pre-yasmin levels my stomach problems will improve again..in the mean time if anyone has any advice on IBS or nervous stomachs i would love to hear from you!

I started Yasemin 10 days ago. I was fine for the first 2-3 days. On the 4th day I started getting very short of breath, dizzy, heart palpatations, nervous, out of it, crying for no reason and nauseous. After suffering over the weekend (with thoughts of driving myself to the hospital) i finally went to my normal doctor on Monday and she ran a bunch of tests. I told her that I just started this pill and she said she heard of Yasemin causing chest pains in many people. She put me on medication for vertigo and an inhaler. After reading the listings on this website i have to say my worries are put at ease a bit. I have a call into my gyno to change this pill at once.
I have tried many pills in the past to find the correct one for myself. None of them have caused such terrifying symptoms as this one.

I have been using bisacodyl laxatives for over a dozen years. Unfortunately due to the tolerance I my body has developed for this medication, I am often required to use between ten and fifteen tablets per dosage -- and I need to use them every night or morning. Since nearly the outset of my using this laxative, I have suffered from severe, intense, INTOLERABLE cramping of a degree I have never experienced with any other medication or from any other product. The cramps and pain are so severe that it is difficult for me to even put it into words. The pain emanates from just below my breast bone, in the center of my ribcage. It is so debilitating that the ONLY way that I can achieve even a slight degree of relief is to ball up a pillow or some similar object and place it directly where the pain is centered. The intensity can last anywhere from fifteen minutes up to and beyond an hour. It's made me late for work, for school, and is often accompanied by nausea, cold sweats and vomiting. I am seeking out others who have experienced these side effects after using this product to see what alternatives exist for me, and also to see how they might alleviate some of the pain. It is without question the most hideous, horrific pain I have ever experienced. Any thoughts?

On Dianette (Diane) for 6 years and read last week that docs should prescribe it no longer than 4 months!!!! Started Yasmin 3 months ago, severe throbbing headaches, was taking 8 painkillers a day, extreme pain in kidneys, running to loo constantly with full bladder each time, panicky, pressure in chest, depressed, sore back, tired all the time, stopped it 4 days ago - ALL symptoms GONE. Getting fitted for the cap fed up pumping hormones into my body

well they work, but I had to lie to the chemist as I take many other pills and have tried other things over the past but these are the best, you can sleep at night with NO coughing/spitting etc. I have bleeding from my backside, but it's only temporary and worth it.( it's only when I go to the 'loo'.)Just wondering if any damage will done?
