I started taking sulfameth/trimethoprim for my acne nearly two weeks ago twice a day. Two days ago I started feeling what I thought were growing pains in both my legs. The pain slowly made its way both down and back up the legs. The next day I looked down at noon and these red dots had appeared all over my body. I've had a loss of appetite and the red dots have a mild iche to them. I also had a very very bad migrane for the rest of that day. Today I woke up and I am complety covered in red dots. My face is red, but not really dots, it feels more like a mild sunburn.

Hi Hill!!
Yes, I hat that swollen ankles, too!! I remember last summer one day we were going out for dinner and I wore some high heeled sandals. While we were sitting there at the restaurant I suddenly felt, that my feet were somehow hurting and looked down on them: I nearly screamed as I saw, that they were so swollen that they were pouring out of the sandals. That looked very horrible and I never had experienced that before!!
This lasted over the whole rest of summer and during the wintertime. Only since about 2 months it's slowly getting better and my ankles go finally back to their usual look and especially my feet stay IN my shoes and don't come out without being asked to do that!! :) Sounds funny, but it isn't really, I know!!
Just wanted to let you know that even this symptom is just another nice Yasmin withdrawal effect and can last a while but will go away for sure after that Yasmin stuff is finally completely out of your body!!!
Remember Yasmin has that diuretic in it which diswaters you all the time during taking it. So I think it's pretty normal, that, if we suddenly get off that Yasmin and diuretic stuff, all of our cells (they are somehow dried out all over the years) are absorbing all the water they can get. I think if our bodies get used to "not being diswatered every day" again, all of the swelling (and I had and still have that all over my body!!) will go back. Well, I hope so.... !!!!
All the best!!
Silke

I had an injection of Kenalog on Tuesday, Feb.21, 2006, between L5 and S1, right and left side. The following day I had flushing in my face and neck. I had also hit the back of my hand on that day. When I looked at my hand it had a small round bump on it. I didn't think too much of it until I looked down about 15 minutes later. The small bump turned into a VERY large bump, taking up about 1/4 of the top of my hand. I immediately put ice on it and it did not get any larger but it didn't get smaller either.
I called the Dr.'s office and was told that I was having an allergic reaction to the Kenalog as far as the flushing went. He prescribed Vistaril for the flushing and told me to put hot compresses on my hand the next day.
The hot compresses was supposed to break up the blood clot but so far it hasn't. Yesterday I noticed that the skin below the clot is very discolored (kind of red and kind of purple.
He said that the combination of Kenalog with the Plavix and full dose of aspirin I take daily made my blood vessels very weak and one broke.
I also experienced chest pains the night of the injections. As yet, I am still not feeling very well.
I had no clue there would be so many adverse side effects and wonder if I should continue with treatment. He told me they would not use Kenalog again but they would have me take Benadryl before the next injections and take Vistaril afterwards. If I do this, how will I know if I am allergic to the next drug?

Slept good at night but was deeply depressed during the day.
since I have a history of depression did'nt think it was the drug, but a strange thing happened. I went up on the roof of a 2 story bldg to fix the tv antenna and when I looked down I wanted to jump off. I thought I was going crazy...I really think the drug caused this. It's normal for me to think about death and such..many depressed people do...but I have never tried to kill myself.

I originally went on 10mg of lipitor a day in January,2007, experienced leg pain, muscle ache and weakness,so after 3 weeks went off the drug on my own.In June 2007 after talking to different Dr's I went back on Lipitor,10mg, figuring that I had not really given the drug a chance as sometimes side effects do subside after a while.I saw my Dr on July 3rd & my cholesterol had gone down to 170 in about 3 weeks.I told him about my symptoms, which were the same as before & he told me to let him know if they got worse.By August 30th 2007 I just could not tolerate the pain and achiness all over my body,I was not sleeping well as every time I turned in my bed I woke up from the pain ( We even got a new mattress fguring maybe that was contributing to the joint pain) My joints became swollen & red,I could not lift up my arms, they were so sore and weak,my neck was so stiff that it was hard to drive and have to turn my head,I had a constant headache and what seemed to me like a"fuzzy brain"I am 63 years old and have never experienced anything like this,I am an active woman with a great deal of energy and people who know me could not believe what was happening, instead of scooting ahead of everyone I was barely keeping up.I found myself not wanting to eat as my stomach was constantly bloated & in pain & I was gaining weight too.
