I called my doctor today to get the go ahead to stop this pill. I have only been on it for 5 or 6 months. The last two months have been horrible. I have had piercing headaches bad enough that I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep; tired all the time; no energy; no sexual desire. I also had two months where 3 weeks into a month I had loose bowels. None of this is normal for me. I would almost say I bordered on depression. No spunk, no happiness... and I have a lot of reason to be happy in my life. This drug is nasty as described someone else here and by my daughter as well. If you are offered this say NO ! It is horrible

My daughter is 18 months old. She has a bad ear infection that doctor thinks that it is lingering since it has started a month ago. Omnicef was her 3rd dose of antibiotics that we tried after amoxicillin and augmentin. After her 2nd dose she started getting red in her cheeks and had loose bowels, after 4th dose she was covered with hives and rash all over her body, worst on her cheeks. After taking her to the doctors office, we were told that she has allergic reaction to omnicef. She was given benadryl (4x 1tspn per day),doctor said it might take a week for the rash to disappear and for the ear infection she was prescribed with zithromax ( 1tspn per day for 3 days). If anybody has experience with this kind of problem, I would appreciate some feedback.

Hi, I am a 57 year old female who was just recently put on Fosamax to counteract the bone loss caused by Femera that I am taking to keep my breast cancer from coming back. The first two weeks I felt okay albeit I did have stomach ache for two days and loose bowels. Then the bone pain began and I mean pain, not light, not moderate as the labels say, and it was especially severe at night. I found myself also feeling dizzy, depressed, no energy, kinda weird. I couldn't have relations with my husband because my hips and pelvis were so painful, also my neck, lower back and legs. Not fun. I took myself off it....Bone pain subsiding..also gastric upsets were getting worse. I tend toward gastritis and have IBS so this drug did not agree with me. I hate it! Will not go on any of these again, as I have also had lots of jaw problems in the past, and dental problems and DO NOT WANT that horrible jaw thing to happen. Yike... Love Pam

What a Godsend this website is. I am a 48 year old female, and I have been taking Advair (the lowest dose) for about 2 months now, with steadily worstening side effects. Although I have to admit, my first dose of Advair was like a much need "breath of fresh air", the side effects are not worth it. In fact, I just got off the phone with my doctor, telling her I will no longer be taking the Advair. These were the side effects I have experienced: rapid heartbeat, rib pain, joint pain in my legs and fingers, loose bowels, and a noticeable change in weight / body shape. I have always been complimented on my tiny waist and flat stomach, but as of late I have noticed my waist size increasing, despite my usual exercise. In addition, the most serious and most disturbing side effects are insomnia and the onset of severe depression / anxiety / paranoia. I had issues with depression as a young woman in my 20's with anorexia, with no relapse until I began this medication. Yesterday, I had to pull over to a store parking lot to cry for no reason! If it were not for this website, I would have blamed myself for some sort of mental weakness or unhealthy thinking. Also, I have never experienced anxiety in my life, and while on this medication I have had several episodes of intense panic, where I was convinced I should immediately draft a last will and testament. My vision has been blurring in and out considerably, my voice sounds as if I have larynxitis daily, and I have also experienced profoundly increased thirst and urination. I have not had my blood pressure checked, but I feel like what must be an increase in this, as well. Lastly, the past few days I have noticed severe hair loss, which, until I read this website, I attributed to my recent dieting. (I have been desperately dieting and increasing exercise to try to regain my figure that this medication is apparently ruining. Until this time, I have weighed the same and had the same or stronger body than high school school (5'4'', 115 - 120 lbs.) God bless everyone who has contributed to this website to educate others about the horrors of this medication. My doctor wants to see me to "give me something else", but I am going look into alternative therapies (yoga, breathing exercises, teas, etc.) The comment that made the most sense on this website was the person who wrote "break up with your asthma...begin by taking a deep breath and telling yourself you no longer have asthma." Also, I have seen that God / Jesus can heal anything, so I am going to turn to Him in prayer instead of the doctors. After all, Who created our bodies to begin with? I will add you all to my prayers, and that God will help us all heal from this... both the asthma and the suffering created by Advair.

I am 39 yrs old w/ 2 children by c-section and started taking Loestrin 24 to help with horrible heavy bleeding I was experiencing during my cycle. I have read most of the side effects that other women have and I guess I just got lucky. My life has changed for the better since I started taking Loestrin about 3 months ago. The first month, I did still have a heavy period and my cylce seemed longer than usual but I hung in there to allow my body to adjust to the pill. Almost 3 months into taking the pill, I am so happy I finally went to my doc to so something about the heavy periods I have been having for 10 yrs. I did not have a cycle at all during my 2nd month but had a 3 day cycle for my 3rd month. I was actually glad to have at least that because I was a little concerned. My initial symptoms included: loose bowels (which I still experience but only in the morning,as I take my pill at night), my breasts got smaller (great!), maybe a tiny bit of nausea and some fatigue. After the 1st month all symptoms are gone except the loose bowels in the AM. I don't mind putting up w/ the extra trips to the restroom in the AM for a barely-there cycle each month. My advice for those that have just started the pill and not feeling so great is "Hang in There". It should get better. Good Luck Ladies!

I found OsmoPrep easy to take and tolerate. Until I finished the second round. I just had two hours left to Drink.....I was to be NPO from midnight until test time the next day. Luckily I realized that what I needed to do was add even more liquid to my sy
stem. (I tend toward loose bowels anyway). I managed to get another 24 oz. in before midnight. Yes I drank 8 ounces with each dose of 4 tablets, but I needed MORE.
The next day my hands were a bit numb, but it was a cold day. However, after I checked into the hospital, my hands went completely numb. The nurse said that she'd never heard of that side effect. However, the doctor was late (aren't they always) and I lay there reading a book for almost three hours. Yes, the hands held the book; they weren't 'dead' but I could not feel myself touching the hand nor could the hand sense hot/cold or rough smooth very well at all. Test went fine. Recovery was quick. No more numbness as soon as I got liquid back in my system.

September 15, I first started taking Toprol XL 50 mg for an irregular heart
2007 beat. That was about 2.5 years ago. It didn't help me at
1:27 PM first so my Dr. upped it to 100mg. It helped for about a
year and a half before I began having diarrhea and loose bowels for over a year now. My doctor didn't seem too concerned about
that. At the same time I was taking 1500mg of Niacin a day. I thought
the loose bowels came from too much Niacin, so I asked the Dr. to take
me off that. That did not help me at all. I am seeiing my Dr. next week
I do hope I can get off of Toprol. I have other side effects as well, enlarged thyroid, dizziness, short term memory, depressed, sleepy. But I do mow the lawn without any fatigue. I am tired of the diarrhea every day 2 to 3 times a day. Thanks to everyone who has posted their side effects/ It helps to know others are having the same side effects I am with Toprol.

Has anyone experienced chronic loose stools while on this medication? If so when you stopped it, for those who did , was there a noticable change in your bowels, as far as not loose anymore? My grandfather is taking this medication and I'm not sure for how long ...but he is taking many others....and has been experience loose bowels for about 4 months now. The docs cant seem to figure it out , I feel like the medications and the mixing of medications is causing this and possibly already done some major damage. My grandfather is 86 years old and just recently had a massive heart attack.
Thanks ,
Maggie

Wondering if anyone else has had IBS as a result of Yasmin? After 4 yrs of tests and eliminating all sorts of possible reasons why I digest far too quickly and have night hunger and loose bowels on and off, I just got a new doctor who says that Yasmin might be throwing off my flora balance (yeast & bacteria) and wants me to consider trying a different bc pill. Anyone else have this problem--superfast digestion, symptoms of yeast overgrowth on and off, recurring loose bowels? I did do 2 rounds of antibiotics in the last 4 years--one for pneumonia, one for a sinus condition, and I'm wondering if the combination of Yasmin plus antibiotics screwed me up? (I do take enzymes and probiotics but the symptoms keep recurring).

Here is my story first. January 2004 I gave birth to my third child. 36 hours later my bp was 220/125 Labatolol made my head tingle so badly it drove me insane, niphedipine made gave me tachycardia, where just standing up my heart rate was 171. HCTZ caused me to have vasculitis. My kidney issues are the main cause of my bp issues, but for the past year and half I have maintained a okay bp. Four days ago for some reason it all changed, My bp was 170/110. My dr put me on Lisinopril and I took my first 10mgs last night. I do have panic attack disorders and me not falling alseep till two am could be why. All the other symptoms you talked about I have already had PRIOR to starting my medication. I have joint issues, I have had a cough, I have GERD, already had loose bowels. I'm praying this medication works and its one that doesn't cause me any ill effects. So far after one day my bp has come down a lot. If I have a hard time sleeping tonight it might have to do with the medication. Until then I can't say anything bad. Also my boyfriends mother is on this, has been on this, and has had NO ill effects from it.

I am on my 3rd day with lisinopril and I have sharp, acute gas pain that is keeping me awake. It is 12:39 am and I cannot sleep as the pain keeps waking me up. The first two days it was just loose bowels and horrendous, smelly gas and now this. I have a slight cough, but nothing annoying. Is there something else out there for hypertension that is not so hard on the system?

Itching, like poison ivy, on center of chest, elboes, ears, scalp, knees and around sock line. Itching appears related to areas of rubbing/perspiration. Itching appears to rotate, being in one or two locations for about 2 weeks and then disappearing, only to pop up again somewhere else. Only relief is hot shower water directed at area of redness/itching. Relieves it for 1-2 days. Oh, what a relief it is! :-) Also have "loose bowels," thirst, dry cough and slight sore throat, usually at night. Stopped taking for 30 days and ALL above symptoms disappeared. Started taking again and within 48 hours, symptoms mentioned above reappeared. Another problem, but not provable to toprol, are coldness to extremedies (hands in particular).
Do not get the nightmares/dreaming as mentioned by others.

I have a host of side affects to acknowledge. First the teeth clenching in an issue, it is messing my bite up. Second loose bowels and occasional diarhea. I can deal with the lack of sexual appitite but my girlfriend thinks I don't like her, she starts calling me a fag!
Worse of all I am lacking the aggressiveness towards life and personal accomplishments, I fear that I will turn out a broke but happy man. I walk around being somewhat tired and carefree about life, bills and just about everything.
I don't pick arguements with my girlfriend and overall Zoloft has been great but, I am concerned with being a happy loser!

500 mg, 4/day. Unlike most of the posts, I have not had loose bowels. However, I am terribly woozy, almost to the point where I'm afraid to drive. I have little to no energy and headaches, but I have just caught a cold so I'm sure that is a factor. I was prescribed this for a cyst in my armpit.

i reccomend not taking any medicine for the loose bowels though, because i felt much worse witht he headaches and dizzyness afterwards.

Hello All,
-- By cocoa05 | Reply | Private Message meI would like to Thank everyone so much! I thought I was really losing my mind. I started NuvaRing on Sept.27th. The nurse told me I could leave it in for four weeks if i wanted abd not have my cycle. And I did. The doc put me on NR due to the PH in my vagina off. He said it would help. While i think i has helped the PH it has caused: vagina dryness, headaches, nervousness, burning feeling, tiredness, depression, angry Bitchy attitude, low sex drive, paranoid, scared feelings, don't want anyone to talk to me, don't want to party or kick it with my friends, and a weird discharge thats kinda nasty. I also have freaked out on all my male friends. I feel like im somebody else. Some crazy woman. Im 34 years old. And i don't know who I am right now or what I want. I thought about taking this thing out tonight and throwing it in the trash compactor but i have one week to go till my cycle. I was on Desogen pill before and switched for the convince only. Darn NR. Well Thanks ladies this is it for me. And my OBGYN doctor will be having a serious talk next week. Shame on me for not doing more research before switching. And i have a pain in my side and very loose bowels. Run from NR ladies RUN!!!! ******
