Loosing weight symptoms and conditions

My father is a 72 y/old man who is being taking Advair for 2 to 3 years. Although his asthma is no longer a problem, his voice is not the same and he continuous loosing weight, so far 25 lbs. His doctor is not able to explain anything at all. Does any one have the same problem?

I have been on NR since July 18 of this year. I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I am also on Byetta. My experience with NR has not been good. First of all I was skeptical about constantly having a foreign object in my body especially such a sensitive area. Symptom 1, decreased sexual desire! Symptom 2, burning sensations down there. Then itching, and a horrible discharge and smell!! At this point I kept thinking how much worse can it get. Well it did, I should be loosing weight from the medication finally regulating my insulin levels, after all I work out 5 times a week and follow a healthy eating plan. My lower tummy is swollen as well as my hips and thighs. Not to mention I have pains in my hips, like they need a massage. On top of this all I have an increased resting pulse rate and blood pressure as well as tighten feelings in my chest. I really feel like this birth control is not safe for me. I was previously on yasmine, and loved it. My endo suggested NR due to the PCOS and IR they feel like it works best with Byetta! WRONG!!! I am waiting for the DR to return my call I am requesting AGAIN that my BC be changed.

I went for a physical in about September of 2000 because i was going to go back in the gym and workout.... Doctor said i was very healthy but did prescribe Levaquin for a small amout of Fluid on one lung he said showed up on an Xray... I think i took two maybe 3 of them but was sick the next day... He worked with me for the next 4 months trying to figure out what happend. Then i finally had to go to a specialist/Rheumatologist becuse i was loosing weight, tired and very tired, no appetite, sleepy etc... finally i was diagosied with Lupus Myositis (not sure about some of the spelling). Anyway i have been battleing with this from Sept. 2000 until now... August of 2007... I do pretty decent most of the time but am tired alot and cant do the things i did before... I am now 45 years old...

WOW!! I am so glad I found this site. I started on the NuvaRing last August since then I have beeb consistantly gaining weight. I exercise 5-6 days a week 1 1/2 hours a night. I was getting so frustrated because I would jog and jog. Instead of loosing weight I just kept gaining. I started dieting (didn't eat very much to began with ) still gaining weight. I was at 117 when I started now 140!!!. I have experieenced the bloating. My breasts doubled in size literally. I have many other of the side effects mentioned by other women on this site. I have just gone off of it tonight. I sure hope this goes well. Has anybody suffered any side effects coming off of it?

When my BP reached 200/125 the doctor gave me Lisinopril.
Within a week I went down hill with anxiety attacks, weak legs, exhausion and pain behind my eyes.
THANKS GOD FOR THIS WEBSIDE. In desperation as a last attempt ( i did not know why I felt this way) a friend recommended to check the internet. I have now gone to herbal remedies, eat garlic, calcium/magnesium and eat potassium rich foods. No or little sodium in my food and working on loosing weight. All this info is available in books and internet, but doctors are not willing to give this advice and just poison us with drugs. I guess they are on commision...?

i am taking gabapentin for tightnes in my legs , due to diabetis. would like to know if it has any effect on not loosing weight, even when i am on a strickt diet, i also sleep a lot in the daytime.

was on venlafaxine 75mg for about 6 months had to come off it as i was pregnant! felt sick tired dizzy but put it down to pregnancy. Was then put on dothipin which i could take while being pregnant but had to come off before baby was born.
Was put back on to venlafaxine in april 05. Developed a rash but was told it would go and to persist. Carried on taking instead of loosing weight after the baby i am putting it on also rash has come back over chest hands and feet are really itchy. Told my doctor i was coming off them. tried everyother day but i could not move my head was like jelly i felt sick tired my eyes were blurry i had to really focus. my brain felt like it was wobbling in my head it was so difficult with a young baby and a 10 yr old. I went back to the doctor who reduced me to 37.5mg i dont know what to do with myself my mother has had to have the kids my head it throbbing i cant see properly i feel sick so tired !
i am going back tomorrow as i need something to help me get off this vile drug. It should be banned i feel sorry for anyone who is experiencing what i am right now its an evil drugs and should not be recommended to anyone.

I have only been on Yasmin for 4 days and have felt totally nauseous, light headed and breathless. I have also had no appetite whatsoever, great way of loosing weight on a contraceptive pill, but this pill makes you feel like you have got your worse case of morning sickness! I definitely won't be taking day 5 after reading everyone elses comments! The contraceptive pill suks!. Give me back Logynon and a 3lb weight gain anyday.

I started Methotextrate 5 months agoi and I have been on Prednisone for three months now in combination with the methotextrate to attempt to get the symptoms of RA (Rhematoid arthritis) under control. Last month the Dr. tripled the dose from 5mg up to 15mg. I have been having problems with my vision. Sometimes it just blurs and then will clewar but there is no warning so I fear driving. Thinking is almost painful. I forgot my daughter's name. My thoughts often feel fuzzy. My muscles ache and sometimes I feel like moving takes to much energy. I couldn't use my left arm the other day because it weighed to much. I never really sleep and when I do the dreams are so real and vivid they wear me out. I get muscle cramps so bad taht my body is stuck until the cramp subsides. I feel weak much of the time. My primary Dr. sent me for an MRI thinking maybe I have MS but the MRI was beautiful. I do not have the intense pain from The RA I used to have now that I am on Prednisone
but I am thinking the pain was much better than the side effects (which never were really mentioned). I have read many of the postings here and have any of the same side effects but the above mentioned are the most disturbing. I am fortunate in that I am loosing weight and have not had the weight gain mentioned by many others. I guess I can thank the chemo for that:) I am comforted to know so many other people have problems with this drug (not that I wish suffering on anyone). I was starting to feel like maybe I am just crazy. I try to be a positive productive person but lately that is a challenge. I am going to be talking to the Dr. nad get off these horrible little pills. RA is easier to deal with than the side effects of the treatment.

When I started I was on Doxycycline at the same time I am on both for 10 days for sinus infection and chest congestion I Get really dizzy I have injured myself a few times on the meds and im loosing weight. Never do I want this med again, No sleep and its ruining my relationship I have turned very mean.

Well i have been loosing weight in my breast also... and still having awful headaches....and i am very hungry too i am supposed to get some hormone replacement therapy also so we will see .... i had my 3rd shot monday.....
