I have been on the ring for 4 years now, and I haven't really experienced all these crazy side effects. I do have headaches, loss of energy, mood swings, decreased sex drive (which doesn't stop me anyway). Its all the same bull****. It really is true that everybody is different, but seriously, ALL forms of birth control WILL give you some kind of side effects. we are ruining our bodys natural order buy consuming these dangerous hormones. All because we want to have lots of sex without the troubles of a baby. Its a choice and a risk that we are taking. Now after reading all these scary things, its making me thing if I should switch. But how am i supposed to know if taking a different BC is going to make it better. its just going to be another batch of side effects. And is it really healthy to keep switching to diff BCs? A part of me wants to change BCs but another part of me loves it. I guess Im just scared of ALL birth control.

I am 17 and have been on ortho tri-cyclen lo for 2 years now I never really notice until I started having sex I wanted to do it for about the 1st 4 times than after that I never wanted sex, me and my bf had gone without sex for like 2months and every time he wants to do it I say I don't want to he says I never want to than it starts a huge fight, so we basically fight all the time. We have been together 11months yesterday. I don't know what to do I am really thinking its because of the pills, I get WAY moody, and I cry a lot. I'm always cranky and tired. I'm only 17!! I should want to have sex lots of sex not have no sex at all what is wrong with me? could if be the pills ? I have been on them for a long time now but I never really thought that it would be birth control to cause all of this.someone please reply.

After reading all the horrs stories about Lupron I too was very afraid but I discussed it with a family member in the medical field and so I made a decision to try it. I took one 3-month shot of Luprin for firboids. I have several of them, one was the size of a 5month fetus. The hot flashes came fast and furious. Many nights I have slept without clothes. After the shot I continued to have lots of sex. I have seen some blury vison from time to time. I dont know if I should attribute this to the Lupron. But since it is not allergy season as yet it can well be that. I had the shot October of 2004. Did not have another one and still did not have a period. However my blood count have gone up. I have had some headache when I wake in the morning but was able to sleep it off. I All in all I am doing fine, even though from time to time I still have very mild flashes. I sympathize with people out there who have had sever symptoms and still continue to have them.

Hello ladies! where do i begin: terrible headaches before what I think was my period, lightheadedness, just not feeling myself, cranky, tired, lazy, no energy, weight gain, bloating, I was even taking Ativan for a series of panic attacks I had had prior to getting Mirena inserted, and every time my so called period was coming, I felt the anxiousness start all over again, my ob said to get a full physical that I may be suffering from a thyroid problem, and she's never heard any of these side effects before, I told her about this website, and it confirmed my thought that Mirena was doing this to my body! No sex drive either, and that's not me! I told her I wanted it out, it's been 1 month and a half, I haven't taken ANY Ativan, haven't felt anxious had a normal period, and lots of sex! I'm enjoying my 2 little ones even more now, and feel myself again, I would not recommend Mirena to anyone!! I can't believe how bad I felt for so long, almost a year...my poor family!
