I am 61 years old. I started taking Lisinopril 10mg, once a day about 6-7 months ago. Because of cough, I switched to Diovan 80mg, once a day (samples from my physician friend). After running out of Diovan samples, I started taking Lisinopril 5 mg, once a day again about three months ago. For better BP control, I ended up again taking Lisinopril 10 mg, once a day about 5-6 weeks ago. I started to simultaneously suffer from having persistent, extensive and progressively worsening joint and muscle pains in my both sides of neck, both shoulders, both upper arms, left elbow, left lower arm, both wrists, both hands, all fingers, both knees and left calf muscles. I had difficulties walking, moving my arms, shoulders, doing anything with my hands at the peak of the pains about 7-8 days ago. In the night, my fingers were very stiff and uncomfortable that I hardly could make a fist and I had difficulties getting up to go to bath room because of pains. I felt like I were a 90 years old man. Even Cataflam and Advil did not work well to relieve the pain. As a retired physician, I started to suspect it was Lisinopril-induced side effects. I searched on Google and found this web site. Now, I realize that I am not alone. I got my Lisinopril from CVS Pharmacy. I immediately stopped taking Lisinopril about one week ago. All my joint and muscle pains have been dramatically subsiding (although not completely disappeared) without taking any NSAID pain killer. Even "cough problem" became much worse during the same time. I am convinced that Lisinopril I got from CVS caused my serious, extensive, multiple joint and muscle pains. Perhaps, FDA should look into this side effect: whether it is common ACE inhibitor related side effect or it is possible manufacturer, country origin of the product related problem (made in a non-USA country and imported by CVS?). I would never take Lisinopril again. Posted by myh810.

I had my IUD removed in Oct and don’t have any regrets at all. I have now lost 20 of the 40 lbs I gained by cutting carbs and sugar. I feel fabulous!! HOWEVER .... I now have severe uncontrollable ITCHING behind my knee, lower leg, and now elbow and lower arm. There is no rash and I haven't changed soaps and someone told me it could be hormonal too. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS?? :(

Hello Everyone,

I am 33, male, I have been doing sport actively for at least 10 years (swimming and running) and I have been leading a health-conscious diet. I have a hereditary high-cholesterol condition, a type which appears in adulthood (so they say). Since 2004 my blood tests have showed roughly the following results: HDL 1.1, CHL 6.2, LDL 4.1, TRI 4.38 (mmol/L).
I have been taking Zocor 40mg for about less than a month and recently I have been experiencing cramps in my left lower arm, fatigue, itching (this morning for example I was woken by the cramp in my left arm, not nice). I have just read all your posts and have decided to abort my Zocor treatment at once. I have bought Q10 capsules and vitamins and started to drink 4 liters (herb tea) a day. I hope the pain will soon abate because now I have a totally dysfunctional left arm (I can't grasp because of the pain).

I am going to write in a week's time about the de-Zocoring of my body. In the meantime, I wish a speedy recovery to everyone.

Peter

Not being able to get a full night's rest is the worst effect for me. Have recently noticed stronger numbness in the pinky finger and lower arm. Doctor thinks that is an irritated Ulnar nerve. Random chest pains have caused me enough concern to go to the emergency room twice. Second time led to a heart catheterization. No blockage, so the cardilogist said "now you can have all the chest pain you want". Gee, great.

I checked the website http://www.lisinopril.com/lisinopril_pictures/ and see there are 5 or 6 manufacturers of this generic. I'm sure they'd say all generics are alike, but maybe I should try a different pharmacy with a different generic brand. Six people can use the same recipe for chocolate chip cookies and end up with 6 different tasting cookies.

I may ask my doctor about prescribing the real deal instead of the generic. I see very few side effects listed on this site for those. Of course, that could be because most health insurance plans want to pay for the generics.

After finishing a 7 day course of levaquin, having pain in calfs at night, painful walking upon rising, (first 15 steps) had wrist joint pain, and lower arm pain, ( arm pain seems to be improving) Will not ever take levaquin again. It was prescribed after small out patient surgery as a precaution for infection. Side effects of this drug are terrible. I really hope side effects go away soon.
