500mg 3 times a day for 10 days, vomited once, have had a horrible headache that started day b4 yesterday, still kinda have it, comes in waves, sux real bad lol

i have Sinusitis, Bronchitis, and a severe respiratory infection.

i see some guy on here mad cuz the doctor didn't tell him he would have bad headaches, like the doctor was going to know in advance he would. this anti-biotic affects different ppl different ways, its really not his responsibility to go over every single side-effect this very common anti-biotic is going to have, thats why the pharmacy gives you a huge pamphlet informing you on the medication, if you would had read it then you would see that headache, diarrhea, and constipation are all common side-effects

i didn't read it however, until i came here and read what i read, which is comforting really cuz at least i know why i have the headache so bad, and why i lost my lunch yesterday, was actually worried maybe i had an infection in my brain and thats why i had it, i know, sounds dumb, but what can i say, im paranoid lol

My son is 17 and started Celexa one week ago. He took 5mg for 3 days them 10 mg until today. He is nervous, anxious, nausea, can't sit still, fells like he has to go to the bathroom (no 2 all the time), and is on the verge of a full panic attack. The symptoms are always worse in the morning. He takes the meds in the morning and can't eat or drink because he feels so bad. (I thought eating might help) He has not been eating breakfast or lunch because of it. He stared taking 5mg this morning per the doctors request. Will this help? I would appreciate any input.

Hello everyone. I am a 40 year old female and have been on Toprol XL 50 mg. for about 6 years now. In the beginning I was taking Toprol, then because my prescription plan wanted to switch I am on Metoprolol. I was prescribed this after a stress test because my heart rate did not go down as quickly as the cardiologist wanted it. If only I knew what I did now, I would never have started it. HELLO!! I weighed 200 lbs. at the time and was a couch potato. What did he expect? Of course my heart rate wasn't going to go down being so out of shape. I am so angry that I was prescribed this drug for such a stupid reason. I am also on meds to lower my blood sugar and high blood pressure. I know that all of my problems are due to my weight and so I've made a decision to seriously change my diet so I can get off of all of this crap. I currently weigh 217 lbs. But as you all know, being on Toprol, it's so hard to lose weight. I want off of this crap as soon as possible. Can any one of you guys who has gotten themselves off of this medication please send me some information as to how you got off of Toprol XL? My doctor is a real moron who works solely for pharmaceutical companies so I refuse to go to him. I will be changing doctors soon.

i have been miserable taking these pills..first week of 2nd pack..couldn't figure out why my boobs were killing me in the first pack and then the debilitating fatigue (i am going to lose my job if this keeps up--i come home at lunch and can't do anything but sleep for an hour! in addition, as soon as i get home at 5 i have to rest again,.so not me and so NOT able to continue this way)..i also have had 2 weeks of major headaches with the first 2 characterized as the worst i can ever remember. I am not a person who has issues like this...I am 41 and never been on BC. I started because the older i get the worse the periods and pms are and longer...heavier, more intense moodiness and pain. I am convinced as of tonight that i think i rather have all that back. I can't do this. I left a message for my doctor after reading 2 days worth of blogs now i know its not a flu, pregnancy or the 'weather'. I was also having hard time breathing (felt like i couldn't get a deep breath so i had to really inhale and i looked like i was having an attack..i thought it was the humidity here in the NE...now i know thats from these damn pills). I also did not get my period the first brown pills till the Sunday i started my new pack and it lasted only a day.
If i didn't read this site, i was convinced something major was going on like a brain tumor or something. i need to get off these pills.

I was on prednisone for 1 year for chronic pericarditis, finally weaned off and no problem with my heart since. It now been 5 month and I now have chronic shoulder and foot pain, I've read that it can take up to a year for your body to adjust and produce the correct levels of cortisone, I'm taking voltaren when the pain is too much, I feel like a 75 year old in the morning and I'm only 48. I feel so sorry for everyone who has had issues as well.

I had Mirena put in on July 2nd. I had it removed today (August 4th). I gained 10lbs in 3 weeks, my hair is falling out like crazy, my face is breaking out, I was having kidney pain and the most recent was on Sunday when I couldn't get out of bed due to severe back pain and I couldn't lift my right leg. My husband had to pull me out of bed so I could use the bathroom. Any time I sat down, he had to pull me up. As the day went on, I could slowly start moving more. Yesterday and today my back was still very tender. I had it removed @ 3:30 this afternoon and my back pain and tenderness is completely gone (it's now 8:15 p.m.) My doctor told me that Progesterone is what causes all of those symptoms so he recommended I wait 2-3 months before trying any kind of birth control to get all of the hormones out of my body and make sure it's not a thyroid issue. Two people I know have Mirena and they have no symptoms and they love it. I on the other hand, can't say the same. I think people sensitive to progesterone need to find a different route.

I was scripted this med today, along with Lamotrigine and Seroquel, in an attempt to overcome intense panic attacks, insomnia and anger issues associated with post traumatic stress disorder.
I took all three, as prescribed, around 1pm today, and immediately took a 6 hour nap. I NEVER nap. I woke up around 7pm with the worse nausea and vomited up everything I had for lunch that day. I was dizzy and hot. I fell back asleep around 10pm, and awoke again at 3am to vomit up anything that could have been left in there. I feel like I've taken a strong psychedelic drug. I started this in an attempt to help me function in normal social situations but I don't see how that is possible when the walls are covered in intensely colored visual pattering and my computer screen is waving around as I write this. This drug sucks, I'm going to punch that shrink in the face.

Hey, Im 15 years old. Im going on holiday on Saturday for two weeks and am due to be on my period smack bang in the middle of the two weeks. I didn't want to miss out on all the fun like going swimming and wearing certain clothings so my nurse advised me to take Yasmin for 10 days to push my period a bit. I took it for the first time last night. All night i had really bad stomach pains and about 3:22 i had to rush to the bathroom to vomit. My stomach has been hurting all day today. By lunchtime i was really really hungry which is unusual for me as i hardly ever eat at lunch and do not usually get hungry. My stomach is still hurting quite a bit and was wondering if this feeling is normal. I don't want to be being sick every morning when im on holiday. Will i be being sick every morning or will the pain and vomiting stop after my body has got used to the pill?? x

Was on Prednisone for 11 days for an injury to my neck. I knew nothing about the drug except what my doctor told me that it would reduce inflammation in my neck and help with pain.

Well, it did nothing for the injury and pain in my neck. BUT.... I had HORRIBLE menstrual cramps and got my period 8 days early. I've had my period for 9 days now AND terrible pain in my upper left leg. I thought the pain was related to my leg and as the days went by I realized it was in my left hip! It's so bad I can't lift my leg without extreme pain. I KNOW IT'S FROM this awful drug.

I've been off of it for 4 days and the pain is still with me. I called my family dr. and was told Prednisone doesn't do that. BULL!! The paperwork I got with it from the pharmacy show "Changes in menstrual periods" "muscle/joint pain" "bone pain".

I wish I knew this BEFORE I ever took it.

Does anyone know if these symptoms and problems will go away after stopping it? I called the pharmacy and was told it will take 2-3 weeks for it to get out of my system!!

Has anyone had problems that eventually went away after stopping the drug?

Thanks and I hope everyone else is okay soon! This drug should be off the market. I received no help for my neck pain at all!!

I'm fed up. About 4 years ago I had a complete thyroidectomy and OMG my life has been a mess ever since, Yes, I needed the gland removed (it was a goiter pressing on my air way and esophagus), it needed to come out but OMG what a nightmare. Synthroid is a drug I can't figure out. I am convinced that this has ruined my life. I have developed chronic/non-stop head pain and pressure. My B.P. has gone up and now I'm on B.P. medicine. (still have severe head pain). It just never leaves me. E.R. visits/hospital stays and on and on. They treat me like I'm a complete lunatic because they can't seem to find anything organically wrong with me. Ummm-it hurts(my head). I am starting with a new Doctor who is a D.O. rather than an M.D. and I am praying that he finds what the **** is causing my pain. I feel like crap. The T.S.H. is in normal range but I have learned that the T.S.H. is not everything (even though my thyroid is gone). The isiots for lack od better description, are just too lazy to go the extra minute to find out what is wrong here. I just want to be able to function and this head pain will not let me do that. It is a nightmare and I have nothing but sympathy and empathy for anyone who suffers with pain on a daily basis.

The only constant is the Synthroid. Maybe I can't take this stuff. It has to be that my body just can't tolerate it and need something else or T3 added (I don't know). I just pray that this new doc can figure it out because I feel so helpless with this. My pain is always there squeezing and pressing. It is horrible. Maybe Synthroid is the culprit. Good luck to everyone.

I started NuvaRing about a week ago and I think the diarrhea I experienced just hours after putting it in is related to it. I called my doctor first thing the next morning and since I had been sick with a cold, she thought that might be the reason for my symptoms - not the ring. She told me to take some Pepto and call her after a week. Took the Pepto and for two days I was fine but then after lunch the other day at work I had an urgent need to go to the bathroom and - sorry to be graphic - I pretty much emptied everything out of my body and it has been like that ever since. I was trying to be optimistic about the NR but I cannot keep anything in my body and I am now starting to experience a little pain in my lower abdomen.

I switched to the NR because I forgot to take my pill each day but I think that I will remember to take it now. Back to Yasmin and I will never complain about taking a damn pill again!

I had ankle surgery in March 2009. After several weeks of pain and inflammation, my doctor prescribed a Prednisone dose-pak to "settle everything down." Yesterday, day 1, I took 2 pills before breakfast, 1 after lunch, and 1 after supper. About 4 - 4 1/2 hours after taking my supper dose, I developed SEVERE abdominal pain (akin to labor pains) and diarrhea that lasted for several hours. The pain abated during the night and today I have had very sore abdominal muscles and a little bit of an upset stomach. I never took the bedtime dose

I don't care how much pain I have had in my ankle...nothing compares to the pain I experienced last night. I will never take this medicine again. According to all the information I have read about side effects, nothing indicated I would experience pain like this.

I am hopeful that now the stomach/abdominal pain "settles down."

I was given a sample pack of Singulair from my GP for seasonal allergy relief. I take Zyrtec and Flonase on a daily basis anyway. The Singulair was suggested in addition to the regular medications, only temporary. I have been on it for 4 days and feel terrible! Have itchy throat, trouble sleeping through the night, although I am VERY tired, can't focus, swollen eyes and NOW red eyes...my boss just suggested I go home from work again to get some rest. I bet they think I drink during lunch! This is terrible and I will stop taking this tonight. I'd rather deal with seasonal allergies than this...

SORRY! I didn't get to finish my post because I thought my 2 year old had tried to turn off the computer so I posted what I had typed quickly before I lost it all. I just wanted to finish by saying that the removal didn't bother me a bit! I was a little dizzy when I got up from the table and a little dizzy off and on for about an hour afterwards but that's it so far. I've had no bleeding (I am breastfeeding though) and I'm already feeling so much better. My doctor told me that it would take about 48 hours to get the hormones out of my system. I went from feeling exhausted this morning to having energy this afternoon and even got outside and did some gardening. My husband came home from work while I was out there and he couldn't believe it. We also had lunch together after my appt. and he made a joke about me not forgetting to pick up my 2 year old from my friends' house and I just laughed. As I was driving away he called me on my cell and said that having the Mirena out was working already cause my witchy Mirena personality would have read into that comment (ie...what, so you think I'm a bad mom, or I'm stupid or something) and exploded. NOT the new Mirena free me!! I took it for what it was...a joke!! YAY!!! Ya know what...he might just get lucky tonight, lol!! I feel like a new woman!!!

23 years old, Had my 1st gardisal shot almost exactly 24 hours ago! Felt kinda weird all throughout the day, but dismissed it. Around 3 am I was awakened by an extremely upset stomach and severe diarrhea. I called my doctor office and spoke to a medical assistant and she stated that none of the doctors where in the office but if I could go to an emergency room to go to the er! I assumed from her response that I shouldn't be having these symptoms, but she didn't want to say that. I used my entire hour lunch to nap and almost fell when I tried to get up. My heart feels like it is going to jump out of my chest. Cramping in my stomach and I'm extremely scared to eat anything because the smell of food makes me lightheaded and. My best friend has had the shots and she said her's went okay so I agreed to go ahead and get the shot.....worst mistake !

Well we have stopped the lisinopril for the first time this am, my dads last dose was yesterday morning @7am. Wow I cannot believe the difference, his muscle pain and joint swelling is going down before my eyes. The nursing staff is still unsure of it being the problem. I am sure he will not take lisinopril ever again in his life. yesterday I thought he was dying, today he is wiggling around in his hospital bed wanting to eat lunch and go for a walk!!! and the TV is on for the first time in 10 days along with the shades up. He is no longer lethargic and sleepy!!! and best of all he is not in complete pain all over his body.

I have only been on Synthroid for 2 months, but my appetite is out of control. I read that gaining weight might be a side effect of Synthroid. You would think that you would lose weight with it since it makes your thyroid run more efficiently. My TSH is 4.3, still normal, so I don't guess I really need it yet. I am going off of it and going to the health food store and take Thyroid support.

I have been on 10 MG of Lipitor for almost 3 years. Since I began taking it I have had recurring issues with an anxious feelings, my lower GI is constantly churning and I feel like I am stressed out. I have a low stress job, a stable happy family life and yet I feel nervous all the time. I sleep for 3-4 hours and then wake up and am unable to get back to sleep. I have been forced to take a nap ever day after lunch just to get through the day. Additionally, I developed tremors in my hands and was diagnosed with something called Benign Essential Tremor and put on another medication to control the shaking.

Yesterday I decided I had enough of this and went to see my cardiologist to discuss the symptoms. I stopped taking the Lipitor on my own 2 days before. The doctor told me that none of my symptoms were related to Lipitor! I replied that I was convinced that they were all in fact caused by this drug. He suggested I stop taking the statin for 2 weeks and see if the symptoms stop. I am now on day 4 without lipitor and am already feeling less anxious.

I went to the Nuerologist 2 weeks ago and got her to discontinue the anti-tremor medication. I am going to get all this crap out of my system and hopefully get my life back.

I had the same symptoms you all list here: heart palpitations, lack of sleep (leading to emotional meltdowns at work), acne, and inability to lose the last baby weight despite a near perfect diet and miles & miles of running. And of course, my husband was at his end with my crying and constant stress. I also couldn't focus on my children b/c I've been consumed with myself, my apparent stress, and hours spent running.

Finally, a friend told me that my weight is stuck b/c of my hormones. Knowing that the weight came off easily after my first baby, I had the "a-ha".

Literally, I searched on "mirena side effects" this very morning, found this site, and read your stories. I called the doctor and had it removed before lunch.

I'm so relieved that it's almost over. I will be doing a cleanse to expedite that process. Can't wait to have my life back.

Please spread the word. No more suffering. No other women should experience what we know all too well.

My son has been on Singulair for about a year and a half...it really seemed to help his allergies...at least at first. This winter has been very dry and I have been having to give him other over the counter allergy medication as the Singulair isn't helping much. He also started losing weight..just not hungry. At first that was ok as he needed to lose a little but then he was getting too thin. He wasn't eating much at school but refused to take a lunch from home. I took him to the doctor just recently to see if he was physical ok since I didn't know what was causing the weight loss. The blood testing showed everything was normal and I just told him he had to start eating better...he has somewhat...but also he finally told me he has been feeling very depressed...seriously depressed and having suicidal thoughts too due to some kids picking on him at school.

I knew there were problems as he complained alot but I had no idea it was this serious. I have taken him out of that school. Right now I don't know if the Singulair could be adding to this depression or if its all just due to the bullies. While he complained a lot he never acted as if it was bothering him that badly or I would have gone to the school about it. Anyway I stopped the Singulair and am going to see if his mood improves or not. After reading some of the scary posts on here regarding the side effects I am wondering if this is a good idea stopping it or not. I am waiting for a call back from his doctor on it. Since its once a day..its kind of hard to wean them off of it...but I could cut it in half ..do that for a few days, then cut it smaller and so forth. His is chewable so I could do that with no problems. He is 13.

Every morning after I take my Lisinopril, I start having chest palpitation and my pulse is very irregular and when I take my BP it is usually high because my pulse is so low. It lasts until noon and then I'm fine after lunch. When I'm having these palpitations I get so anxious that I'm having a MI. I'm going to make an appointment to see my PCM. This has been going on for almost a month. I was started on Lisinopril in Sept of 2007. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

The nurse practitioner i go to see for Worker's Compensation gave me this medicine to see if it will work on my bulging disks, severe compression, arthritis, and degenerative disk disease, to reduce any inflammation I have. I took 3 pills at once at lunch on the day I started and I couldn't get rid of the taste for hours! Then later I noticed a flushed feeling, which is supposed to be normal. I then started to get really annoyed with my 3 year old son. I stopped taking the meds that night and started taking them in the morning. I again felt flushed and easily angered by either my wife or my son. My problem is this: Either take this medication as prescribed, go through the bad side effects or take my chances with the steroid shots and hope I don't develop worse back problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I posted a while back about the symptoms I was experiencing from Yasmin. Well, I've been off of the drug for just about a month now. My libido has DRASTICALLY improved, my moods are better, and I am getting along with my boyfriend like I haven't in a long time.

The only problem I'm now having is that my weight is continually creeping up. I have been very busy with various things for the past few months (searching for and finding a new job & new apartment in a different state, going on a week-long food-filled vacation, packing, moving, unpacking etc etc). I thought that I was up a few lbs (3) as a result of being very busy and not having as much time to commit to exercise and eating healthy. Don't get me wrong, I have still been exercising and eating healthy, I just haven't been able to commit quite as much time as normal to these things.

In the past two weeks I have gotten back into my old routine and have been doing 60 minutes of cardio approximately 5 days/week and really not eating very much. Most days I have eaten a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and not been hungry until dinner. Since I've gotten back into this routine I have done nothing but gain MORE weight. Additionally, I have absolutely no appetite. My stomach looks poochy and my pants are getting tighter.

I have been able to keep my weight in the same range (127-129) since I started running, 4 years ago. It would VERY occasionally creep up to MAYBE 131, but I haven't seen a higher number than that until now. I feel that I literally LOOK at food and gain a pound.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be that my hormones are just adjusting? Honestly, I'd almost rather deal with the side effects of Yasmin than deal with gaining weight as a result of not being on it.

I'm a 61 year old female who has been on Singular and Asmanex (puffer) for about 3 weeks. My sinuses are greatly improved and so has the cough. HOWEVER, I have had horrific nightmares, and last night, (obviously sleepwalking) went downstairs, had a left over taco (one of two) and went back to bed. Today, I went to have a taco for lunch, found just the one, and asked my husband if he had the other last night, NOPE! He was even asleep on the couch, guess I was quiet, but I always microwave on a paper plate, with one on top, found in the garbage. Last week I was sad, for no reason, and I have had bruising. "Sleeping with snakes and tacos."
