My husband had one by-pass and lung surgery. The doctor put him on Lipitor. He took this for several months until one morning he called me and told me he needed help because he couldn't get out of bed. In the meantime he complained about aching all over and he couldn't stand to have anyone even touch him. Luckly the morning he had trouble getting out of bed he had an appointment at the VA. He told the doctor what he was on and that he thought it was going to kill him. The doctor there told him it probably would if he continued to take it. One of my friends has been on it a long time, probably five or six years and has started to complain about various aches and pains. however when he asked the doctor about this because he is on Lipitor, the doctor told him that if he was going to have any side effects they would have appeared shortly after he started taking them.
The doctor wants my sister to start taking Lipitor so I have really started to research it and hope that it will be taken off the market.
I hope this will help

Hi polkanow,
I read your message and I wanted to write to tell you that we all go through the feeling of not being ourselves. It's a shame that we need to go through this for the pills to work on our bodies. Keep reminding yourself that once you are off the medication you will be your old self again. I have been on prednisone for over a year, I started at 80 I think, and we were reducing the dosage like you're supposed to with my disease (Wegener's Granulomatosis), and after my lung surgery about 6 months ago I had a flare up of the disease and had to restart prednisone at an even higher dose, at 100mg. This second time on predisone is much tougher than the first. Somehow, I guess because I've been on it longer, I'm experiencing more side effects, more ups and downs, more round face, more dark hairs on my face and neck. It doesn't help us at all that it makes us so unattractive either!!!! Does anyone know if the hairyness goes away like the moon face is supposed to? (thanks for the encouragement, sanndiego). I am small boned, and yet I've gained so much chubbiness on my face and neck that I can't wear some of the necklaces that I used to.
Patience

Headaches??? Really i have been getting headaches recently
-- By shreddyteddy | Reply | Private Message meI hate the new HFA inhalers
I have been a chronic user of the old inhalers for years and i never complained, I actually really liked them. I have been on a ventilator 3x and I am only 24 years old. The most recent hospitalization was the worst. I have been found to have an under productive heart. They did exploratory lung surgery and also gave me a chest tube and took numerous lung samples. I honestly believe that this was due to the new inhalers. Whenever I take the new inhalers I feel slightly better (not much) approx. 1/3 of the the way the old ones made me feel. I feel slightly better after about 15 minutes, but as soon as I take it I actually have a harder time breathing and it just SUCKS!!!
