I recently back in April of this year received Cyberknife radiation for Adenocarcinoma with metastasis to my brain. After surgery to remove my brain tumor in March of 2009. I went though whole brain radiation and the Cyberknife to my lung. The doctor was very adamant that as the lung heals from radiation you will develop what they call wet lung or neumonesis sp? This will have to be treated separately, or severe coughing would continue. My primary care doctor in the mean time put me on Lisinopril 20 mg for hypertension. I have not gotten a good nights sleep in 2.5 months since, then came the pneumonosis. This cough persist to this day waking me from what little sleep I do get, and amazingly am now suffering from joint pain especial in my hips. It's to the point I can't even cross my legs anymore it hurts. When discussing this with my primary she says its in my head as of today and reading this site and side effects I am taking myself off of Lisinopril and will seek a second opinion, even a third if need be thank you all so much for posting your side effects from this drug.

Im 35 have 2 children and had mirena fitted in Feb of 2008. It was the most painful thing i have ever experienced. There was a med student in the room when he did it and she said after it was over that was the most brutal thing shes ever seen. After it was inserted i bled for about two weeks but it did let up. In the months that followed I experienced the acne,(i have always had clear skin), the weight gain, the fatigue, the headaches, the fogginess, and the worst to me was a major personality change. I was miserable. Depressed and extremely on edge all the time. I blamed my constant crankiness on the fact that I could no longer fit into any of my clothes, and the 15lbs that i had gained. In August my mom asked me if i was pregnant cuz she said I looked like i was. The day after my mom said that I went to weight watchers and did manage to lose 10 of those lbs. Which isnt that great considering i lost 42 lbs in 4mths when i went on it after i had my 2nd daughter and it took me 3 1/2 mths to lose 10! Anyway, 2 weeks ago i started with this dizziness and the tingling feeling in my arms and legs. Went to the doc and she said I had an inner ear infection. Took the meds she gave me and still felt crappy. Then last Monday i had a total breakdown. I couldn't get out of bed, the left side of my face was feeling like it was numb. My cousin came to see me and asked me what was wrong and I simply said "I think im losing my mind!" She said well u haven't been yourself since you had "that thing put in". So her and i got on the computer and googled mirena side effects and WOW!! I could not believe what I was reading. I could relate to every woman's story. I called my doc and had to fight with the idiots at the front desk but I got an appointment tues the 25th to have it removed. The doc looked at me like I was crazy when I told her what was going on. She said theres no way mirena was causing that and i should go see a neurologist but shed take it out for me anyway just to ease my mind.
Well let me tell you how I feel today 5 days post mirena. I feel WONDERFUL!!! I actually felt better within an hour after she removed it. The tingling and numbness stopped and that foggy feeling was gone, and my insides no longer felt like they were being squeezed together. I started heavy bleeding on Friday (at walmart on black Friday, to give you a laugh). Im going through a tampon every two hours but i have to say it feels wonderful. I just feel great I don't care about the bleeding at all thats how good I feel. My stomach is flat again, and when i weighed myself this morning i was 7lbs down from Monday, and i haven't been dieting at all, ate like a cow on thanksgiving. I even look different in the mirror. I swear my skin had a grayish tint to it when i had the mirena and today im all pink and rosy again. When i think about how i felt and the mths of my life that i lost, i cant believe a form of birth control caused that. They really need to educated people more on this device. Yea the thought of not having a period is cool but at what expense? Ill take my period over feeling like that any day!

For the first time in 10 years I chose to go to a medical doctor instead of my usual Homeopath to receive treatment for a UTI. 2-3 weeks after taking Cipro My knee would suddenly give out while I was walking (no pain, yet). A week or so later the tendon behind my knee starting hurting. Another week the front of my knee hurt. Another week and it’s as if my muscles & tendons in my calfs completely froze. I could not walk. Excruciating pain at even resting feet on floor...could not bear any weight or pressure. Also swelling, strange crawling sensations, pinching pains, dull ache in leg bones, stabbing pains, tearing sensations in calfs...it seems to be a little different every day. Also some insomnia and anxiety, shortness of breath, and a strange sensation that my throat or tongue was swollen so I had to sleep in a raised position because it felt like I was suffocating when I laid down. Now 8 months later...only very slight improvement. I can grocery shop for about 20 minutes before I’m so exhausted and in so much pain that I’m sweating. Cannot lift or carry anything that’s even slightly heavy because it puts too much strain on my legs. When I can walk, I walk funny - kinda like Frankenstein’s monster (straight-legged) and also limp. I never thought at the age of 44 that just grocery shopping would be enough to wipe me out for 2 or more days. And yes...depression too. Who would’nt be? If you have any advice please share it with me.

I have muscle pain, weakness, and chronic lower back pain. Started statin drug, Simvastatin, on 11/21/07. I take no other drugs. Within two weeks, I could not sit without severe lower back pain. Reported problem to family medical doctor on 1/11/08. M.D. sent me to physical therapy for 8 sessions. No relief from physical therapy so I requested an X-ray on 3/20/08. X-ray shows very mild degeneration at one lower vertebrae. M.D. sent me to an orthopaedics doctor who recommended continued physical therapy. Went to a Chiropractor instead. After six chiropractic sessions with little relief, I made an appointment with an Osteopathic doctor. My M.D. sent me to a rheumatologist who prescribed high dose naproxen for two weeks. The rheumatologist ordered and X-ray of my lower back area. The lower back X-ray produced no negatives. The rheumatologist's next step will be to order and MRI of my lower back area. The D.O. suspects statin induced myopathy and because of hyper reflexes he ordered an MRI of my brain and cervical spine. I am now recommended to a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Am I getting the run around? Only one doctor said I might have statin induced myopathy. The rest will not even mention the statin drug theory. I just pray for ache and pain relief. I have some improvement after four months off of the statin which I believe is quite a strong point that it was the statin drug and not some unknown condition. I don't think arthritis or MS conditions improve. All I know is that I had no health issues before taking the simvastatin. Good luck to everyone who has or is taking a statin drug. BEWARE!!!

I"m 54 and have been taking Lisinopril for 5 years.
Decided to stop now. My late Mom was a retired nurse and she use to make jokes about taking snake venom. But I didn't take it seriously until, I found out that Lisinopril was made out of Brazilian Pit viper venom..
Had problems sleeping, fatigue, muscles burning, tingling. aches with high pulse when ever I took this drug.
Figured it was something that i just would have to live with.
That God I finally decided to stop taking it and switch to natural herbs instead My health care practitioner is a retired Medical Doctor.
And he said natural herbs are better without the adverse side effects.

I was prescribed Zyrtec a few years ago for allergies. I also have MPV and need to take Atenolol, I will need to take Atenolol for the rest of my life. My cardiologist recommended I stop taking Zyrtec because it can give you an irregular heart beat. When I tried to stop it I got very bad withdrawal symptoms, chills, heart racing, insomnia, itchy skin. I thought I was going crazy, so I took one Zyrtec as soon as I took it 15 min later the symptoms stopped. The next night I decided to try and cut the pill in half and only take 5 mg, that was ok for 3 day's then the symptoms returned. I had to take the other half of the Zyrtec and then the symptoms went away.
I can not believe that I have to find a way to wean off Zyrtec. I am very annoyed that they do not list on the label that their could be withdrawal symptoms after taking Zyrtec for a while. I am not giving up I am going to continue and try to wean myself off the Zyrtec, hopefully I won't have a heart attack in my attempt to get off this drug. If anyone has a successful way to wean off Zyrtec please post it. Thanks and I hope this helped someone who was thinking of taking this drug. STAY AWAY FROM IT..

Hi Gang,
Im on 20 mg of Lisinopril in the morning and 25 mg of atenolol at night. The Lisinoril is for my blood pressure and the Atenolol is for my anxiety attacks that i have. O.o But im still have anxiety attacks, and i don't know why. So ive had all the test, heart ultra sound, ekg's, blood work, treadmill ekg, halter monitor for 3 days. The works basicly. Im 40 and yes over weight. But i passed all the test with flying colors. Doc said he only ever wants to see me again, if im Really sick. Anyone know why im getting anxiety attacks (mine are rapid heart beats, and feeling like fainting) all of a sudden. When i started the lisinopril i had a minor cough, but not any more. Otherwise ive been pretty good with both meds. Just don't know what is triggering the anxiety!

I've never written on a blog in my life, and now that I've just read this, my stomach is doing flip flops and my blood is runnung cold. I have an 11 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. They have both been on singulair for quite a few years. My son has been on ADHD meds now since about a year and a half after starting Singulair because we tried to avoid them. Every few weeks he tells me he has this empty feeling inside him that makes him really sad and he doesn't know what it is. It just feels empty. I'll usually read with him or play a game or walk our dog with him to help him feel better.
As for my daughter, she exhibits all of the symptoms I have read about. She talks about life being terrible( trust me, she has it pretty good), she has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, OCD and Tourette Syndrome. Every psychiatric medication we have tried has made her worse. She was always a confident, outgoing little girl, and then she just changed. She's had stomach aches, which the docs always thought were in her head. She gets headaches. She is extremely sensitive, won't let me even brush her hair or touch her. She has extreme mood swings and gets upset over the most miniscule things, then writes about them, even saying she realizes her anger was too much for what the situation was! I will stop Singulair immediately and see what happens. What a miracle it would be if all of their symptoms disappeared.

I was prescribed Yasmin for PCOS in 2002. I took it and never had any problems and it made the PCOS easier to live with. This was until 2005. I started having real bad pain in my left side, so I went to the emergency room. They did x-rays and blood work on me. They admitted me to the hospital. They told me I had an infarct spleen. I was in there for almost a full week. My medical doctor told me he thought it was caused from my birth control (I did not take any other meds) and he took me off of it. Well I was having a lot of trouble with my PCOS so I went back to my gyno and told them about being in the hospital and what my medical doctor said. My gyno said they never heard of such a thing and put me back on Yasmin. They said I needed to be on it because it had an ingredient I needed to help me deal with the PCOS. So I went back on it after being off of it for 3 months. Well in May of 2007 I ended up in the ER once again. This time I was having severe headaches. I had never had headaches in my entire life until now. They ordered an MRI and gave me miagrane medication. I had the MRI done and they admitted me to the hospital once again. I saw at least 5 different doctors while I was in there. The MRI showed I had suffered 3 mild strokes (the cause of headache) and the only conclusion they could come to was the birth control again. I have never smoked in my entire life but yet I still suffered from strokes. I now have to take medication for my blood pressure, aspirin for blood clots, and migrane meds daily because of Yasmin. Yasmin is a very dangerous birth control. I also had to have an endometrial abaltion since I can't take any type of birth control. I am only 29 years old and can no longer have children because of this drug. It is very dangerous, I hope if I do nothing else someone will read this and stop taking Yasmin before it is to late for them also!!!

My doctor has taken me off Lisinipril because of elevated calcium and potassium levels, not to mention the terrible side effects of this drug, like fatigue, weakness, anxiety, etc. The doctor is hoping to wean me off high blood pressure drugs and trying to achieve a normal pressure by diet and exercise. I have been off the Lisinipril for two weeks. I am still feeling some of the side effects, however, I am wondering if anyone out there has been taken off Lisinipril and been able to bring down their blood pressure without drugs....anyone out there?

I had a kenelogs shot in my foot and immediatly after that burning went all over my foot and I couldn't wear a shoe for six months. I was menapausal and had a period for over two weeks. I've since had cranial release therapy that has done wonders for me. I will never see another medical doctor again. They don't look outside the box. I'm almost pain free and would love to share my recovery story.

I think I am just finding out the side effects of Singulair. My 10 year old son has been on the medication for two years and that is when his problems in school started.
We thought he may have ADD, but his teachers and a medical doctor refuted this.
My daughter was put on the mediaction earlier this year and within two days my sweet little girl became a "mouthy" little "B." I took her off the medication immediatly and within days she became her old self again.
We are in therapy right now for my son, but I've pin-pointed his problems to around the time he started taking Singulair.

Nearly 35 years ago I was given compazine for nausea. I was a young teen and didn't realize what was happening but my head started tilting back and I was unable to bring it back down. My neck muscles were locked. I was rushed to the emergency hospital and finally administered a shot to relax my neck and my medical doctor said he would never prescribe Compazine again.

I can't believe the nonsense going on here with those side
effects. I believe some have become illiterate and professional medical people.
I am sorry but the known side effects are not related to sex
or toes turning upside down. I am on lipitor for many years
and it is the only drug that has gotten me to, I pray, safe
levels of cholesterol. I am averaging around 150-170 now
and my triglycerides and cholesterol were out the roof. They
both are at a good level, and again I pray they stay there.
My doctor is an internal medical doctor with very careful
and precise requirements. He listens to any muscle cramps
I might have had, and they have come and gone, and I
did worry at those times but many of those times it was
probably conditioning and I am an ex high school football
coach and athlete in general for the biggest part of my life.
I am 58. Sometimes, I have a hard time remembering a
name or face, but I take several meds, and I am not as young as I used to be when I could focus on 3 or 4 different
things which was really bad for one's mental health and social
health. Who wants someone not paying 100 percent attention?
My point is that I feel exactly like I did when I went to pick
my car up at a dealer who had repaired it. One of my neigbors started giving me this herbal spill about Himalayan goat milk curing everything! Lipitor is not for everyone. My doctor EVERY 6 months does a thorough liver and blood exam on me.
If you are losing you hair or thinning like mine, welcome to
mother nature. It "aint" lipitor baby ,and those sexual side
effects need to be taken up with a sexual counselor it appears
to me.
Anyone, even with disclaimers, can see that this site once you go to if for some really curious serious intent, is seen
readily as a "natural herbal garden," listing only extremist
side effects for Lipitor.
I am not making fun of twisted toes or sexual disfunction but
please leave it off the herbal network. Go swap if for another
statin and pray that it works and you have no side effects, but
don't tell all those Enquirer type effects. I am sure the herbs would bring your cholesterol down in a week to 150 and cure
cancer, right?
Herbs have a place, but this is not a serious place for someone to learn about Lipitor. Lipitor is prescribed for a
potentially fatal disease or condition. Let it lay there.
Thanks for letting me tell you what I have experienced.

In January, I slipped on the ice and hurt my back and right hip. My family medical doctor took some xrays and did and mri. Could see nothing. He then sent me to about six weeks of physical therapy. No relief so he sent me to a pain management doctor. The first visit with him, he examined me, looked over the mri and xray film, and read the reports from the radiologist. He started me back in physical therapy. The second visit, he injected my facets...still no relief. Back to therapy. The third visit, he injected my SI joints...still no relief. Back to therapy again. My fourth visit, he injected my hips...and it hurt like heck. At that time I was told to walk a lot. The pain in my back and my hip, caused by the accident, was so profuse, I could hardly stand it. But, I went to the mall and walked for about an hour. When I got home, I had to go straight to bed. For three nights and four days, I couldn't get out of bed. I had to keep myself knocked out with pain pills and muscle relaxors. On a scale of 1-10, the pain was a 20. It was terrible. The man kept sending me to therapy though. On my fifth, and final visit to him, he sent me for another mri. Guess what? My back is broken. 16 weeks of therapy and now it is too late to do anything about it. But I am noticing my blood surfacing under my skin in red blotches. My case worker says it could be caused by the kenalog injections. My question is, did anyone else who had kenalog injections experience the pain I had from them...or the red blotches under the skin? Thanks.

TOPROL XL 25mg (43yr old white male)
I went to the dentist where they took my blood pressure (180/95). they suggested seeing my medical doctor. my doctor started me on 50mg to get the pressure down. the first three or four days I felt like I had run 1000 miles everyday, I was so fatigued. I called the doctor and told him and asked if I could cut them in half (they have a cut line on them). I have now been taking 25mg for about year maybe a year and half (time flys). I am still fatigued but not as badly, I am over-weight by 30-40lbs and I also smoke. additonally, my knees "ACHE", my calves ache and most recently my right hip and my wrists and forearms are aching (like carple tunnel of something). Finally, my indigestion is back (after starting toprol that kind of subsided for several months). I have just been passing it off as getting older and having to chase two small children around.
after reading some of your posts, I wonder if it's not the toprol causing the fatigue, joint pain and the return of my acid-reflux.
I am sitting here typing and my knees are screaming, right now!
has anyone else experienced all these symptoms?

Thank you so much for all of yoru input! I started lisinopril a year ago. Shortly after became depressed. My physician put me on antidepressants. Ultimately I went off them and started seeing a counselor. He looked up my medications and reported that it was no coincidence that the depression & fatigue started shortly after the lisinopril. My physician is switching meds this week. Oh - my blood pressure is still elevated on the lisinopril also! I'm disappointed in this medication. As I have been a nurse for 16 years and am now pursuing my medical doctor degree, I certainly will never prescribe it!
Thanks Again. You've given me hope.

I was given a ten day precription of Levaquin 500mg. for a sinus infection and infected tooth by my medical doctor. Four weeks earlier I had stopped taking my hormone therapy. I woke up with very bad hot sweats and at the same time panic and anxiety attacks. My mind would focus on something upsetting and I couldn't stop it. I would wake up retching and had a sore shoulder and knee. After about a week of taking this drug I started with just crying for no reason. My husband thought I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.I went to my medical doctor and was told that I had three choices. To go back on HRT, Take a drug like paxil, or see a counceler. He never mentioned that this could be from Levaquin. I then went to my Gyn, and he put me back on the hormone therapy that I had been getting off. After eight days on Levaquin I decided to stop it. That first night I slept just fine. I am so angry that neither doctor mentioned that this drug had such bad side effects. I told my medical doctor that I have a hard time taking medicines as I always get reactions. At times I still feel a little shaky.I sure am going to let my doctors know about this. Thank goodness I found this site on the computer. I thought I was going crazy.

My whole life 120/70. Two months ago 160/103 wtf. I am on my second month of lisinopril. I am pretty sure it has caused me to be absent minded and grouchy. I was never these before. Worse yet for me is that I am a life long runner. I live to exercise so that I can enjoy the more fun things in life. beer wine and good food. ( I am 47 years old) I ran my first marathon 26.2 miles in January. I now have trouble running three miles with out getting fatigued, dizzy and winded. This sucks!!! any advice would be appreciated.
