My doctor prescribed Avelox 400 mg tablets to treat pneumonia. I was warned by the pharmacist not to take it with my morning vitamins, so I took it 1/2 hour before bed time - needless to say I hardly slept. I started itching all over, my arms started tingling, my heart was racing a hundred miles an hour. Believe it or not I took another one the next night, and yep it happened again, I thought I was dying. My blood pressure dropped to 99/78 and my pulse was 50 - my normal vitals are 120/60, and pulse is 95. It seemed that within minutes my pulse jumped to 115 and my pressure was 138/90. I guess that is what an anxiety attach feels like. Then to top it all off, it felt like someone was pouring water in my veins, this feeling of rushing water ran from my fingers up my arms in into my shoulders then my heart would jump again; I had weakness is my legs and felt nausea the entire next day. I contacted my doctor with no return call, so I discontinued the medication. I do not believe the benefits of this medication out weigh the side effects. I will not ever take this medicine again. I will pray for healing for all of you, God bless and keep smiling.

I have noticed numerous side effects within the last 2 months. I had mine inserted last year, and it seems the longer I have had this in the more effects I get that stay with me longer also. I would please like to hear replies on any one that has had muscle swelling/fluid in the hip/thigh buttocks area. Like sciatiac pain with swelling.
Mine comes and goes and I would like to know who else has this.
Thank you.

I was prescribed a 14 day course on the 9th March, I experienced headache, burning of the throat when taking the tablets. But now am concerned because I have missed a period and just feel very tired, anxious and feel very low, not my normal self. Can anyone advise if they have had experience of missed periods and how long before your cycle goes back to normal.

Thanks for your help

Kind regards
M.

My son started taking Singulair in Sept 08 when he was 22 months old. I never really gave it to him consistently, since it was just to help with his reoccurring ear infections. I noticed a little change in his behavior, but I thought it was the "terrible two's". I started giving it to him religiously at the beginning of Nov 08. He had his first meltdown on Nov 15. He was totally uncontrollable. I call it the "Exorcist" tantrum. I took him to the ER, but they told me nothing was wrong. (I did tell the ER all of the medications he was taking.) He started waking up in the middle of the night screaming. Each day, he got a little worse. Defiant, hateful, destructive, etc. He still isn't talking much, so he can't tell me what is going on. Christmas and New Year were horrible. We had NO idea that it could cause mood changes (that is putting it mildly). The pediatrician had no idea what could be causing the behavioral changes. He also started biting his fingernails and obsessing over little things, like the strings hanging off of his blanket.

We decided to take him off Singulair after double checking the side effects. We stopped a week ago, and the change is amazing. He is back to my great little boy. I am sooooo glad that we discovered this after only a few months. I cannot imagine living like that for years.

Two days after stopping the Singluair, I found this website: ******

As I read the different cases, I thought that it was exactly like my son. I was convinced it was the medicine. Each day that he gets better and better-like his normal self- I keep getting madder and madder that no one informed me about the possible side effect. The Dr. did not know nor the pharmacist.

Yesterday, I went to the FDA site to complain about the side effects. It just so happens that the FDA released a statement yesterday that they are still investigating the link between suicidality and Singulair.

We need to let everyone know, that if you are using Singulair, please pay attention to their child's behavior. Some people may be just fine, but others (like my son) are not fine.

I am 3 weeks post removal and I am still experiencing aches and pains throughout my body, still have the 10lb weight gain, some mood swings and extreme tiredness and some periodic bloating...I am fed up! I have 2 questions: Has anyone found anything about this hormone levonorgestrel and how long it takes to get out of your system? Second, if anyone knows of any suits against these people, let me know because this is really interfering with my life and with my children and my boyfriend!! This is ridiculous, I didn't know about all of this crap prior to getting the Mirena and wouldn't have gotten it if I did know, and I am still paying for it after removal! Please let me know...thanks!! : )

My son came down with pneumonia about two years ago. After being hospitalized for his pneumonia for five days(his oxygen was at 83 percent), he was put on Albuterol and Pulmicort for about a year which was working ok till his wheezing started to get worse .His doctor said it was time to see a asthma specialist in Forth Worth, Texas named Dr. Rogers. Well, Dr. Rogers evaluated my son and took an xray of his nose, diagnosed him with sinusitis and with severe asthma . MY son was put on Advair 115/21 immediately and told to get off all other medicine including his Pulmicort. He was to use the Advair two puffs twice daily every day . HE was to use the Albuterol when he was coughing or needed it for rescue. I got the Advair and as a cautious parent , I always read all of the medication guide that comes with the medication I give my son . I read all the side effects and became at that very night I was to give the medication to him very scared but I was told by Dr. Adams that it would control his asthma. The next day I tried to get in touch with my doctor but was talked to by his nurse and assured the medication was safe. My son at the time also had an upper sinus infection and was put on Prednisone and Zyrtec for his allergies, Nasonex, and also Omnicef which is an antibiotic for 20 days.
Even one day after taking the medicine, my son was sleeping and started sweating really bad that night and he had tremors in his legs and his arms and his heart was racing . As I watched my son sleep even on that second night of taking Advair, I put my head to his chest and would listen to his heartbeat cause now I was worried . His heartbeat was regular at first then when I listened more his heartbeat actually would skip a beat every now and then and his body would shake when it started to beat normal again .
I called the doctor two days after he was on the medicine and he assured me it was the Prednisone my son was on and not the Advair and I told the doctor about the tremors and he also said it was the other medicine . Then I asked the doctor about all the information in the medicine guide that came with the medicine that was conducted in 2006 a few years ago and all the side affects and all he said was that Advair was the safest on the market at this time and that the study in the report was a horribly conducted study and that usually people were dying not cause of the Advair but the Salmeterol being used alone and not a bronchioldialator used to treat both symptoms . It has been four weeks, one month since my son has been using Advair and he is off the other medications he was taking for his sinus infection. These are his symptoms after he takes the medication. About one hour after he take his medication he is very hyper, nervous, his heart is racing a mile a minute without even running around, he is sweating, he can not sit still for one minute and he has muscle spasms. At night when he goes to sleep his whole body shakes as though in a convulsion and I have even had to be there with him to calm him down. He has bad leg shakes and his arms shake and every single night since he has taken this medication he has sweated so badly that it soaks the pillow through and the pillowcase down to the mattress. He had been running fevers at night for five nights now . I was told this medication was safe but when I look at my son his eyes are glassy all the time and he is just not the same and he does not seem happy with all these tremors he has with this medicine . If anyone is reading this please print these pages out and take to a lawyer so we can all get money from the makers of Advair because I'm sure like me we were all told this medication was safe and not harmful . I am calling my sons asthma specialist and telling him to take him off this medication immediately as I had requested before and he told me it wasn't wise because it was controlling his asthma . How can a medication control asthma symptoms that will cause a person to die from taking it and cause them worse symptoms when they try to get off of it?

i went to my alergy doctor because i had some serious allergic reaction a while ago.. anyways I told him the drugs I was taking and I said lisinopril and that i was taking a 5mg tablet (after cutting it in half). Wow he got pissed.. he said to get off of that junk and that it has alot of horrible effects and its a horrible drug.. I guess my 5mg along with my very low blood pressure must of lead him to believe that id do fine whitout it.. He actually seemed like a doctor that cares about people.. not like my other one (drug dealer trying to prescribe everything). He was trying to get me free samples of my allergy medicne and gave me 50% off and stuff so It seems like he really cared about my health and not the money.. So im officially going off lisinopirl... Originally i went on it because my blood pressur ewas about 10 point shigher on the dia..

From this experience it has thought me that lisinopril is not a good thing.. I also started the DASH diet after seeing it mentioned on this board... wow i lost 10 pounds in about 2 weeks and my blood pressure was lowered about 8 point so far...I think if you are strong willed and are able to cut your sodium you should try it instead of taking this horrible medicine... Ill update all of you if my side affects finally go away. Right now its just some strong heart pumping and stomach pulling.. im still gonna do a stress test in a week just to make sure im safe.. id advise no one stop taknig their medicne just like that unless you take a few precautions like second opinions and other heart monitorings..

After 14 months of suffering from Levaquin I am getting worse.

I have had sore ankles and achilles heels for months but last two days this has increased to where I can't walk on them. My shoulders, arms, hands, legs have incresed in pain 50 % in last two days. All I can do is moan, all night in bed and even during day now.

Just loaded up on Lorazepam today.

Also, my nerve system has been severely damaged.

I am over 50. I know what my body feels. Everything involving my nerves has changed from the first 24 hours I took this stuff back in Dec. 2005. My skin feels prickly. My sensitivity to cold and heat is so off and unbearable.

I get haywire feeling all through me all the time. My heart jumps. My ears pop. I feel extreme anxiety.
Everything connected to my nerves seems effected. I get odd bladder feelings. Penile soreness like a nerve twinge.
My intestinal tract is shot. Everything from gastritis to gerd to middle intestinal inflammation. I have diagnosed tendinitis, torn rotator cuff, fractured vertebrae, neck disc damage, etc.
I am low in B-12 to 100 level. Also low in Male Hormone.Have acquired bronchial asthma, sinusits, scarring in left lung.

I do not know how much more I can take. And it all started that week I took Levaquin and "no other medicine".

Hadn't taken any medicne for years previous to this.

I called Ortho-McNeill to complain and they asked what happened to me. I told them I was given this after being diagnosed with beginning bronchitis and low electrolytes at our local ER. The lady on the Ortho McNeil complaint line told me " they ( the ER ) should have never given you Levaquin when you had diagnosed electrolyte imbalance."

She also said they were aware of many complaints of tendon damage.

And no attorney will even touch my case. Go figure. This country is crazy.

I was put on Lipitor probably about Feb 2005. Everything was fine. Cheoseterol went way down. In the Fall of 2005, I just felt tired all the time and thought it was just old age (I am 54 but yet I felt 104!!!!!). I thought this not quality of life. In Feb 2006, AFTER learning of all the side effects (my paper that comes with each RX does NOT say half of the stuff that could be side effects), I found out from several web sites what all could go wrong. I have been off Lipitor since Feb 2006 (it is now almost May 2006), and I still have pain in the backs of my legs and swelling of my feet and ankles and face. I suffered a huge weight gain as a result of the medicine also (which is one of the side effects that is not on my RX paperwork). I suffered loss of balance and my whole body still aches. Does anyone know if the swelling of the feet and ankles and face will go away? Should I see a dr in case the swelling (which I have had since Feb 2006) could be from High Blood pressure. I was never on any prescription drugs ever until I was given Lipitor. Now I am afraid to take ANY medicne at all. Please respond. Thanks. Diane
