The experience my daughter had is all the same as others, her situation happen when she was on her menstrual, first she seen the string and the plastic passed in a blood clot the size of a fifty cent piece, I could not believe it, I am going to file against them, in reading the pamphlets there are no side affects saying that the Mirena will fall out!!!!!! (A mom that is MAD AS HELL) she also stayed with headache, stomach cramps, even when she didn't have her menstrual (before and after).

I am halfway into the second week of Femcon FE, I was put on it to help suppress recurrent ovarian cysts, and yeast infections. A couple a days ago, I started getting headaches. However, last night I could barely sleep, and have no idea why, and today I've had severe menstrual like cramps with irregular bleeding, the cramps are so bad I'm having trouble falling asleep. Plus, I was very moody, and sensitive over the past week or so for no apparent reason. I think I will give the doctor a call tomorrow to see if these could be attributed by the Femcon FE.

O how glad to know where my problems are coming from!!! Im 22 years old and just became sexually active. Because of the "cheery" Yasmine commerical I decided to give it a try. Well I've been on pill for a total of 3 months and its been an emotional rollercoaster! I was condsidering having a pshycological evaluation to determine if I was clinically depressed. I found myself crying for no apparent reason. I even lost interest in some of my hobbies. Prior to the pill my body lubricated itself, not any more. Headaches and nausea were never a problem during my menstral, now it definately is. I started the pill the middle of January 5'8'' and 164 lbs, now its April I'm still 5'8'' but good ole Yasmine took me up to 179. Thanks everyone, Im getting a new birth control.

I noticed my breast growing while I started this birth control. Then I noticed about 10lbs of weight gain. I am a small person. So 10lbs is a lot. I started this because the NuvaRing didn't get rid of my severe cramps and heavy menstrual. I am extremely moody, and I am very emotional.

I have had the mirena out now since the 17th October, I had had it for about 2years.it was causing me mood swings, very bad acne, chest pains, insomnia, a weird feeling-sometimes painful-during sex, lowered sex drive, itchy skin, a weird tingling in my facial skin and very bad pre-menstral depression. Am now using condoms as my sole contraceptive(bit scary, but doing fine so far!).
So far my skin has improved alot-I thought it would take a lot longer, the spots haven't completely gone, but no new ones and it looks alot brighter. Also, mood swings are alot better, no pmt and no depression. The chest pains have gone and the tingling, havent had such horrible sleeps and sex drive is definately back!
If this thing is affecting you, then get it taken out! I feel like a new woman! I have not had another period yet, due in the next week. mmmm...I wonder what that will be like! Weird. Anyway, Im just pissed off I never had it taken out earlier an that I thought I had no other choice. It definately didn't agree with me. Do not listen to any docs/nurses who tell you it is 'only local hormones and will therefore not cause side-effects'! LIES!!! It tells you on the leaflet that it may cause these side effects. I dont know why they give you this contradictory info.
Cheers X

Hey-lo,

I have been on Yasmin for almost a month now, and the side-effects at the beginning were almost unbearable - dizziness, leg aches and moodiness, plus my skin, which was always acne-prone, broke out something fierce.

As the weeks wore on, all these seemed to subside somewhat. There's no more physical soreness and the dizzy spells are gone. Still a little on the mean side - hoping that will work itself out.

I am hoping, since you who frequent seem so kind, someone might respond to a rather... interesting if not disturbing side-effect I've noticed since starting my period. This is my first menstration since going on the pill, so I can only assume it's related... my menstral blood has an extremely strong, extremely unpleasant odor. It's almost fish-like. Really, it's disgusting and I'm a little worried about it. Has anyone had a similar change?

Other than that, I must say that this period is a cause for celebration. Ever since I was twelve, my menstration has been painful - writhing in my bed, crying and screaming, the pain was so intense. It's kind of a given that I would call in sick to work/stay home from school one day out of the month (my "bad day"). But this month, on the day I usually would have been dead on the bed, I was up, I went to work, it all went smoothly. This is not to say I still didn't feel fatigued and irritable, but the fact that I was able to function was amazing.

I hope it's always like this.

- Elfie

I'm 21 years old and was treated for endometriosis back in August of 2004. I started my Lupron shots one week ago because my endo., has already returned. Even though it's only been a week, I've aleady started feeling the side effects. I started feeling extremely tired, weak, and I've had severe nausea that started a few days ago, not to mention migranes. Are these normal side effects of the Depo-Lupron injections? The day before yesterday I stayed home from work because I felt weak, severe cramping and nausea. Yesterday when I returned to work, I had to come home early because I started vomiting and couldn't stop. Today, I'm back at work, I haven't been vomiting, but still have headaches, and nausea. I know I'm not pregnant because I just had a heavy menstral last week and I even took two pregnancy tests early on to see if I was and both tests came out negative. I just got married 3 weeks ago, so my poor husband has to put up with all of this, but he's been really helpful and supportive. If I decide not to continue on, will it hurt anything? I don't want to keep going on like this.

I stopped taking Desogen two months ago after being on it for about 3 years (just wanted to take a break from pills). When I first started taking it, my skin stopped breaking out (face and body acne), which was nice, but my lips were dry and irritated for the first few months. My breasts increased in size slightly---they seemed to be more full (they returned to normal size one month after I stopped taking it). I gained about 10-15 pounds in the first few months, which made me feel bulky everywhere (even arms). This weight did not come off when I stopped taking it, but it seems that the weight has shifted to my mid section. Not pleasant. I was extremely irritable while taking this pill, and found it hard to contain anger once I started feeling upset (very short temper). I wasn't so much depressed, it was more that I didn't enjoy things as much as I used to. I also started getting horrible HORRIBLE premenstral abdominal pain/cramping over the last year while taking the Desogen. My sex drive decreased greatly during the first 3-4 months while taking it, but it did return (never as strong as before though). Other observations that I've made since being OFF this pill: change in overall body odor (body odor was almost non-existant while on the pill), vaginal dryness immediately after periods, skin started breaking out everywhere about 1.5 months after stopping, irregular periods (start time and length), I feel much more happy/relaxed, incredibly severe yeast infection 2 months after stopped (none during 3 years taking it), pregnancy-like symptoms during pre-menstral time (first two periods after stopped taking). I guess I am shocked at how much pills can affect the body. I am afraid to start taking it again --even if my skin was beautiful. My doctor gave me a perscription for a lower estrogen pill, but I haven't started it yet--- I just feel so unsure about this whole birth control method now. I hope this helps someone make a decision if nothing else!

I am on seroquel as an "alternative" to other drugs while I am trying to get pregnant. I just found out this evening that Seroquel can make me anovulatory! Not only that, but I have mistaken breast enlargment and abdominal bloating for menstral/pregnancy signs. I have lost faith in my doctor, my body and in drugs all together. I am bipolar.
