Took a few tablets over a few days. Slept excessively. Extremely Mental Grogginess for a few weeks. Went Back to the Doctor & Explained the negative effects. He said, "That feeling of stupidity you had, some people don't come out of it. We don't prescribe it anymore." I feel it took about 6 months to regain sharp memory & mental abilities. I was prescribed Flexeril for cronic muscle ache & spasms. It did ease my back spasms & aches, but not worth it due to the side effects.

My Dr. prescribed Propoxy/Divarcet for my back pain. I have herniated disks. I took a few Propoxy and got no relief, then I observed a friend who was taking Propoxy and saw how really spaced out she looked and acted. She also suffers from back pain. We are "older" people, how can a doctor prescribe something that he well knows is going to diminish
ones's mental abilities ?? Better to suffer discomfort than end up mentally diminished.

This medication causes more ailments than it cures!! I am so thankful that I found this website! I searched Lisinopril on Google in hopes of finding how long the side effects lasted. Every day, from day 1 and for 6 days after starting this med, I suffered from severe stomach pains, constant nausea, headache, pain in my left shoulder, dry cough, depression, interrupted sleep, severe fatigue and one of the most distressing side effects for me personally was the "fuzziness" that enveloped my mental abilities. I kept hoping the side effects would abate. I was used to getting on the treadmill 6 days per week. After starting this med, I barely had the energy to walk from the bedroom to a chair in the living room where I sat for most of the day. I didn't feel capable of driving my car...didn't want to put anyone's life in jeopardy.

When I found this website, read the posts and saw that the side effects do not seem to lessen but in fact seem to worsen with time, I immediately had my RX for Univasc refilled and went back on it. That was 4 days ago and I am happy to say I feel I'm 95% better. The only lasting side effect is some fatigue and drowsiness...even that is improving, daily. I will start back on the treadmill tomorrow!

I had been on Univasc for 6 years. The only side effects I had were a runny nose and dry cough which lasted 3 days then completely disappeared. The only reason I went off the Univasc is my insurance no longer covers it! The Lisinopril is covered and only costs $10 per month...I would pay them $10 a month to NOT take the horrible stuff!!!!

I'm 58 years old and retired last year. The saying, "You are never to old to learn", is very true! In the future, if I have to start any new medications, I will research it BEFORE I start taking it!!!!!

Thanks to all of you who posted your symptoms...it was very helpful and I'm very grateful!!
