I am on two 500 mg doses of cephalexin daily to help heal a bug bite..Still waiting for the biopsy to come back. Doctor suggested could be a brown spider bite. Definitely want to stop the skin deterioration and get the wound from where the bite was removed healed but the itching started on day 3 on my stomach and has now spread to entire torso, back, insides of arms and legs. I have tried aveeno baths, benadryl (knocks me out) and eucerin itch-relief. Today I coated my entire body with 1% hydrocortisone with little relief. HELP - I am scratching to the point of bleeding and now that I have read these other comments will NOT take another one of these pills. Any other OTC relief anyone has found?

I am 74 years old and have been taking 50 mg dose of Amitriptyline for 12 years and I take it two hours before bedtime.

Recently it has been causing sleep apnea. I am now taking 25 mgs, two hours before bedtime at 8pm and need to know what time should I take the second dose in the am? I took it this morning around 9am and was sleepy most of the morning. I am guessing this has to do with how long between the dose the night before and the am dose was taking.

How long between these 25 mg doses should I take them.

Thanks Much. D.

After taking 5 doses of 750 mg Levaquin beginning Friday January 30 for lung congestion and infection, I literally can not walk! I have never had any leg pain, trouble, muscle cramps, etc...Sunday, my chest hurt so bad I had my hand on my home phone and my cell phone ready to dial 911 (I was home by myself). My legs started hurting and I felt like I needed a walker just to get around my house. My legs are in constant pain. I am only 45 and wonder if 5 days of this medicine is going to permanently handicap me!

I took 4 500 mg doses of Levaquin for a sinus infection on Aug 19-22 2008. I am now almost 5 months out. I suffered multiple adverse reactions and have been waiting to post to see how things resolved. I am 39 years old and in excellent health. I rarely see doctors and have never had anything chronic. This is what I experienced: extreme fatigue, all over muscle soreness/stiffness, severe headaches, tingling/numbness in hands/feets, serious shoulder problems requiring ortho, physical therapy and chiropractor, irregular heart rhythm, irregular kidney function, constant ringing in my ears, impaired vision. Currently most of these are resolved except irregular kidney function (although this has improved), shoulder issues (not normal yet) and ringing in my ears.

You can't judge the full scope of your reaction by your body's initial reaction. As time unfolds you will get the big picture of how this drug harms the various systems of the body.

I can not begin to explain how taking this drug has impacted my life and my family. I have 3 children to take care of. I thank God that I am healing and have now resumed almost all of my daily activities. I pray that I will soon be back to full health. This is absolute madness. I am so sorry that so many of us have been injury in such a way.

I'm on 240 mg a day and its no fun at all. I've built up a big tolerance to it, so much that even at this high of a dosage, I could fall asleep in no time at all. I've been at this dose fir like 4 years now. The good thing is that I have lost a lot of weight and managed to keep it off - going from a juniors size 11 to a 3 is the best thing thats happened though. Probably the only good thing. Otherwise, its made me different in many ways. I get to feeling that I just want to be left alone a lot so I can do my own thing, whatever that may be cause it varies. Some days I have a lot of energy, get lots done (cleaning, errands, some exercise classes, stuff like that), and other days I just feel like doing nothing. Mood swings are not uncommon for me, but I have always been that way I guess. Oh well, I guess if it works for you, take it. Its worked for me, but its about time I start to think about getting off of it as its effectiveness has run its course, at least I think it has. And I don't want to try anything else, its simply time to quit the ADD drug scene entirely. But like I said, if it works for you, then go for it. Just watch out cause it can build up on you fast like it did me, and you don't want to be taking as much as I do. (Its prescribed that way for me, BTW. I don't use it illegally).

I'm a 53 year old male,I've been a RN.on cardiac floors for almost 18 years. Prior to starting on lipitor I had been taking Tricor,at that time I started to have frequent chest pains,mid-sternal with pressure. I went for a CT of the heart, stress test,EKG and various blood test all came back negative however I continue to experience the chest pains. Finally I stopped the Tricor and the chest pains also stopped, just to be sure I started to take the Tricor about a month later at half the dose I was on originally, after only two doses the chest pains came back. Now I've started taking Lipitor(at this point I've only taken 7, 10 mg. doses) and the exact same type of chest pains have started again,I was on the verge of going to the ER yesterday. I stopped the Lipitor and the chest pain were almost completely gone today hopefully by tomarrow I'll be back to normal but it seems like the Lipitor symptoms are longer lasting plus I've been very sleepy and kinda foggy mentally.

I have been on Celexa for 3 months now, I am now at 40 mg doses. Everything has been been really good except that where I previously rarely had gas, I have ALOT now, constantly and it never goes away. Thank God I work at home!

II have been taking Lisonpril at 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg doses for the better part of a year. I have gotten over the cough but it does not seem to lower my BP that much and have experienced severe nervous reaction to the drug. !0mg is about all I can tolerate. My Doctor wanted me to keep increasing the dose up to 40 mg if I had to. When I reached 20 mg twice things got worse with no significant decrease in BP. I also began to experience a pain in my fingers as if I had arthritis. I take a dose in the morning and then about mid morning to Noon my ears begin to tighten up, some slight light headedness and I get nervous. Some of these nervous attacks have actually exasperated the BP problem by raising it. The Doctor prescribed some Xanex to take when this happens but do not want to get too hooked on taking it.

I also take Vitamins and Thyroxine(Synthroid) and wonder if there could be some interaction with this.

Has anyone experienced these symptoms especially the nervous reaction and light headiness??

My roomate is taking 2 (10 mg) doses per day. He is experiencing tiredness and a slow heart rate. I haven't seen these systems as typical. Has anyone else?
