I was prescribed tramacet which did nothing for me.. Ralivia was useless.. but Tridural, which is a type of Tramadol, is working for me very well. I take 300mg slow-release tablets every 24 hours. It is, however, extremely dehydrating at first, and gives me difficulty urinating. I used to be up 7 times a night to pee, and then sat there and had to concentrate to pee! I just thought I would ask if anyone else had the following problem with Tridural: I had been taking it in the afternoon, and I was extremely lethargic and sluggish midday when it began to wear off. I also had insomnia at nighttime. After suffering like this for a few months, I finally clued in to what was causing this lack of energy, and I decided to experiment with the time I took my pill. When I took it before bed, I was wide awake at 5am ready to clean the house! When I waited till morning to take it, my pain was too severe to get out of bed, and I was sluggish again (from withdrawal). Finally I set my alarm and took it at 4:30am, and by 7:30 am I am feeling terrific and am full of energy all day long. I just thought it was important to share this since the time of day really made a huge difference to my quality of life.
By the way, I am using Tridural for pain from "Enthesopathy" or migratory polyarthropathy. In my own words, all of my tendons in my body are weak and very painful. I have trouble walking and carrying my little kids, and some days I feel like all of my limbs are broken and I can't even function or be around my kids, they find it too upsetting.

I got my Mirena in on 10/28/08. It was probably the most painful experience ever. I was in tears before they were done, once they got it in I fainted and woke up to someone taking my blood pressure. I had to wait about 30 minutes after they inserted it until I felt okay to stand. They told me I would bleed and cramp for about 3 months. The bleeding at first was heavy and constant. Now, I spot completely randomly...it does seem to be getting a little bit better but it's completely unpredictable. The cramps hurt so bad that I bought my own heating pad. Now I get cramping about twice a week...it's so bad that I have to lay in bed for hours. The summer prior to getting my mirena I noticed some weight gain. However, i am still gaining weight despite going to the gym and improving my diet. I also have bouts of acne, mostly around my jawline. I have been very fatigued as well. The past week or so it has been much more noticeable, around midday. Lower back pain has also been a side effect for me. I'm getting my mirena removed today in an hour, I will update when I return... I hope it doesn't hurt as much. I did however, love the sexual freedom that came along with mirena. I was awful at remembering my pill...hopefully I can find something else that will work as well without the side effects.

I had the most horrible experience with this medication. Part of it was due to my doctors poor care. On Monday I started at a new doctors office which is rather large. I gave him him my history with migraines and told him I was finally ready to start some sort of treatment. My previous doctor in the town had often recommended that I take something but I didn't want to take a daily medication. I am a fairly healthy 21 year old who gets between 5 to 10 migraines a month and many more headaches a month. I told him that my doctor and I had always concluded that my migraines were stress related. I told him that I have been experiencing a high degree of anxiety (I am a junior in college and it's the last week of class before exams.) He recommended Topamax and told me that it was an anti-seizure medication that was often used to treat migraines. He warned me that if I had any trouble with speech to let him know immediately but other than that he hasn't seen any other problems. He prescribed me 50mg twice a day, which he did not titrate as he should have. I took the first dose before bed Monday night and woke up so dizzy Tuesday morning I missed my first class. The dizziness passed and I just thought it was an adjustment period so I took my morning dose. I began to feel some tingling in my hands and feet and my reflexes were slowed (I felt like a drunk driver) I am a manager at a retail store and I forgot to do some of my most basic tasks. I took my evening dose and was described by fiancee as zombie. On Wednesday I woke up very emotional and cried a lot but didn't really think much of it. I took that mornings dose. By midday my anxiety and depression was so high I became suicidal. I had a panic attack while driving, i stopped off at my place of work because i couldn't drive anymore and my manager informed me that I was having a panic attack. I had never had one before. I have not been taking this medication for 48 hours but it has not left my system yet. I sought out counseling and am no longer depressed but I still have a great deal of anxiety and have been on the verge of two panic attacks today. I can write today, which I could not do yesterday. I do not recommend this medication to anything. Especially after what it did to me in just 3 days.

Today, I,m starting the day with a limp from the piercing pain shooting thru my right hip. Guess I,ll phone the doctor, see if he,s got a replacement, HIP that is.

The gynecologist examined me and refused to insert a copper IUD because he said my uterus was too small. After I got dressed, he handed me a FREE SAMPLE of NuvaRing. I said : "But I don't want to use hormonal bc." He said : "This has less hormones and doesn't go through the liver." Well I guessed that was a GOOD thing, which he wanted me to believe of course. The mood swings, serious anxiety, irritability (I would go as far as to say, anger and impulse control problems) and burning vaginal pain during sex seriously affected my relationship with my boyfriend. We may even be broken up now and I blame it partly on NuvaRing and other hormonal bc I took after my 2 months on NuvaRing. I am so sad that I had to go through all that! I wonder how many gifts the doctors get for giving us the prescriptions of bc. Anyone interested in non hormonal bc? There is the cervical cap in many varieties and sizes. It doesn't affect sexual spontaneity because you can insert it several hours before sex and you can have intercourse several times with it on. You can even keep it in for up to 3 days.

I have been diagnosed as a homozygous Factor V Leiden mutation and will have to be on warfarin for the rest of my life. I feel really dragged out and tired and need a couple hours of sleep midday. Sometimes though I wake up at 4 am and am wide awake. It is not dependent on my nap. In general, since going on warfarin I feel generally weak and tired. I sunburn more easily and it takes longer to heal. They do not say these are side effects but it sure seems odd that it has happened since warfarin 8 months ago.

Bad sinus infection which almost cauesd my eardrum to burst. I took my first pill(500mg) of Levaquin on a Monday afternoon and the 2nd on Tuesday morning. That Tuesday night I noticed my hands were ver hot as I rested them on my stomach...thought I had fever so didn't think much about it. I woke up in the middle of the night and my feet were feeling funny and my left shoulder was starting to hurt. Took my 3rd pill on Wednesday morning as I lie in bed. When I got up my feet felt as if they on on fire. I could hardly walk. Both hands and feet feel as though the nerve endings are exposed. About midday, my shoulder pain had grown to feel like it had been dis-jointed(left-shoulder only). I have absolutely NO movement of my left shoulder. My knees also feel like they could give way at any moment. I cannot walk barefoot on anything. imagine yourself in the summer, about 110 degrees, walking on rough concrete....that would be mild. Wednesday was the last pill. It is now Friday and all pain is still there. Waiting on call from Doctor. I would NOT advise anyone to take this stuff!

I am on my third cycle of Yasmin and I have PCOS.
I have lost my appetite most of the time; my libido is ok; though I do see a slight decrease. My problems seem to be fatigue; no energy, and I am starting to see a slow rise in anxiety.
I have 2 kids and the fatigue and overall blah feeling is really killing my days here. By midday I just want to nap! Mid-cycle last month I had boughts of diarrhea after 1/3 of a glass of wine. So I tried a mixed drink instead with fruit juice and the same thing happened. Horrific abdominal pain came within the hour of the drink. I haven't touched it since. Has this happened to anyone else?
I REALLY do not want to take bcps of any kind but my dh will not consent to a vasectomy. I don't know how much more I can do this with Yasmin.
Just wondered if I was alone; obviously not by reading some of these posts.
Thanks-
Denise

Been on it since first of June, and boy, what a disruption! After a week (started at 60 mg/day for a week, then 50 for a week, then 40 for a week, and have been at 30 ever since), I couldn't sleep, was eating like I had a tapeworm, was moody as everything, and just felt miserable. My face puffed up after about 2 weeks, and my stomach is following suit. I've gained 15 lbs., now weighing more than I ever have (other than pregnancy). Still hungry all the time, mostly at night. My muscles in my shoulders and thighs stay tight, like I'm flexing them, even when I'm not. My knees hurt by midday, and they swell with fluid. Propping my legs when I sleep seems to help. Oh, and I go to the bathroom ALL the time and my period came 10 days early this month. Ugh. I'll be on this drug until December.

I was prescribed Levaquin (500 mg) for a respiratory infection to be taken once daily for 7 days. I took the first two doses without incident. I remember feeling pretty good before taking my third dose of Levaquin at bedtime, but all that was about to change. I awoke at 2:00 AM from a disturbing nightmare feeling very agitated and depressed. I somehow managed to calm myself down and get a few hours of sleep. When I woke up I was still feeling very anxious and depressed. I knew right away that this had to be the Levaquin, so I immediately threw it in the trash. My depression finally lifted around midday; however, the anxiety stayed with me until evening. I am normally a very calm, healthy, and happy person with no history of depression, and I don't ever recall having any side effects to medication. The most disturbing thing about this experience was how I went from my normal disposition to becoming a completely different person in a matter of hours. I felt very emotionally unstable and kept having random thoughts and images of suicide. I never really felt in danger of doing harm to myself, but the fact that I was even having thoughts and images of this was extremely disturbing. I submitted an incident report through the FDA web site and I encourage others to do the same. Needless to say, I will never take any medication in the future without first investigating its potential side effects. I hope this information will be helpful to others. I felt comfort in this site knowing that others have shared similar experiences. I also wish the best for those of you who still suffer from your side effects from this dangerous medication.

I am an average, somewhat healthy 46-year-old woman who is presently taking 50 mgs. daily of Toprol XL for a heart condition - triple arrythmias. For months I have been feeling lethargic and just generally feeling ill with soreness in my ears and throat, and a daily bout with congestion in the mornings that usually clears up midday each day. It finally progressed to the point of fever, chills, muscle aches and pains and general malaise, and I was prescribed Levaquin 500 1xdaily for a diagnosis sinusitus. (Although it's been a few years since I've experienced an acute attack, I do have a history of sinus trouble) Additionally, my facial complexion had become terribly ruddy, blotched and broken out from the underlying sinus infection....
Well, let me just say, that, on my 8th day of Levaquin, perhaps I have noticed a few muscle aches and pains and weakness, as most persons on this website have claimed, but then, in my 46 years of life I have only been on antibiotics 5-6 times and each time I become weak and with muscle aches and pains. Similarly, when one is recovering from anesthesia after surgery, one feels achey and weak. Hello, your body is being subjected to a man-made synthetic to assist your body to achieve its original goal. This most recent goal of mine with levaquin was to rid my body of a sinus infection that had developed an abscess in the sinus cavity. Well, let me add that I have not been able to breathe as clearly and deeply for months, as I have since I started this medication. My lethargy has gone away, and while I still feel the overall feeling of being on a strong antibiotic, I feel extremely improved. I have not developed a red rash. (Perhaps staying in bed resting, and not going in the sun has helped. I do live in sunny Florida) In fact, my ruddy facial complexion has totally improved! I have not had ear ringing, or hallucinations, or an outer body experience, or any other side effect that seems to be popular on this site. Additionally, I experienced not one heart palpitation or heart arrythmia. I agree with the good doctor who recommended on this site that we all take a look at our health history and our symptoms prior to taking the medication and don't blame every symptom on the medication. I am not one to rush to a doctor when I'm feeling a little under the weather, but let me tell you, when I need something to rid my body of bacteria and infection, I thank God for medicenes like Levaquin and the good Doctors who care to really listen to your symptoms and prescribe what you may need.

I just started my first pack of Loestrin today, so we'll see what happens... But it can't be worse than my previous 2 BC's - Yaz and Desogen. The desogen gor worse and worse over a period of 8 years or so... I began having mood swings, depression issues, severe anxiety... it was starting to affect my relationship... Not ok. So i talked to my doc and she switched me to Yaz.... the first 2 months were ok.... the next 3.... NIGHTMARES. I was exhausted all the time, sad all the time, depressed 3 weeks out of the month, bloated, gaining weight, breaking out with acne on my chin and jaw... I never even had acne as a teenager. It was awful. I'd cry over nothing. I felt like I was losing my mind... So the Loestrin was the next option. Time will tell... but it can't be any worse than it was on Yaz!
Honestly... Don't be afraid to try a new pill because of reading one of these sites. If you read up on any of the major BC's: Yaz, Loestrin, Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo, Yasmin, etc. They all the say the same thing for the most part, and everyone is experiencing all the side effects from this site on those as well.. Everyone reacts differently to the pill, so don't let it deter you from making a decision to try something new.
