i have been on yaz for about 2.5 yrs and i have had it im 23yrs old and have absolutely no sex drive and before i started the pill it was great! i freak out on just about anything.i also am constantly tired i will sleep whenever i can and still be able to go to sleep at night. i'm lucky to have such a great boyfriend who tolerates me and still loves and wants to be with me. i have to get off this pill i was very questionable about it anyway and now after reading all these posts i'm done. i can't believe how much one pill can do. i did read the people who love it and i'm glad it works for them, but for those who hate it i'm with you i cant believe how much i've changed mentally, physically, sexually, and emotionally how can one pill change all this i have no idea but i'm hoping that once i stop yaz i will feel like my old self again..i've actually kinda forgotten how that feels but looking forward to getting better.

I began a new dose of Prednisone yesterday. I was diagnosed w/ RA about 3 years ago. I have been on Embrel (didn't work) and am now on Humira and Methotrexate. I have been having extreme difficulty the last month and finally returned to my doctor for relief. (I have been on Prednisone before and had only the headaches) I was prescribed a higher dose this time (60 mgs 2 x daily) and have been battling with a racing heart that beats so hard it hurts. I have now taken my second dose and cannot walk more than 10 feet without feeling like I am having a heart attack! While it is helping the RA pain in my joints, I am so scared to move and so uncomfortable when I do, I am not sure what is better. The disease or the cure? Has anyone else battled with the racing heart? Oh and I also have high blood pressure and the Prednisone is making it higher even with my meds!
My only other instance with this effect was from a steroid injection about a month ago. That episode placed me in the ER receiving medication to lower my heart rate.

During the 2000/2001 school year I became extremely ill from a pnuemonia type disease. It was my first year as a public school teacher and I was reluctant to miss any days. I tried self medicating myself and was not able to get over it. I sought relief from this from my family doctor. He examined me and prescribed the antibiotic levaquin. He described the drug as the "cadilac" of all antibiotics. I took the medication as prescribed. During this course of this medication I developed yeast infection in my mouth. My doctor prescribed the recommened medication for the yeast infection. Soon after the levaquin I began to experience severe ulcerated colitus including bleeding stools several times a day. I notified my doctor who emphatically denied that levaquin was in any way the cause of this. He advise me to seek treatment from a specialist. I was treated with such drugs as Asacol (12 capsules a day) and for a time predisone. These symptoms continued for the next two to three years. As a middle school teacher I experienced much stress from my duties as a new teacher and along with the daily rigor of the effects of the disease was unable to perform my teaching duties to the standards of expectation. In the spring of 2003 my teaching contract was not renewed. I have not been in the class room since. Additionally in the Spring of 2004 I switched medical plans and went under the care of a new specialist. He performed a colonoscopy outpatient and determined that I was free from the Colitus. Even though I am pronounced free from the disease the above circumstances have had a direct impact on my general health.

I am on 25mg once a day for migraines, I am a middle school teacher and I am also experiencing trouble with getting my words out. It is pretty frustrating when you are in front of a class of students and your mind goes completely blank. My biggest whine is I am addicted to Diet Coke and now it tastes awful I about died the first time I drank one after I took my medicine I was hoping it was the drink that was bad...... afraid not I miss them!!! I am also still waiting on the weight loss
