Got Mirena in August 2006, 2 months after the birth of my son. It hurt and I was very dizzy afterwards. The bleeding lasted for about a couple of months, but got better. The problems have really been within the last 6 months. The small problems - joint pain, lower back pain, cramping, weight gain. Another problem, something similar to a catch in my uterus prior to orgasm. Oh my gosh! My husband has actually felt the threads during sex. The absolute worst problem is the migraines. I have a history of migraines - usually right before or after my period. Now, I cramp every week, have spotting about every two weeks along with migraines that put me to bed. Sometimes I vomit from the pain. I've used Midrin for years as a rescue medication. Most of the time, I have to take 3-4 to get rid of the pain. My regular doctor wants me to take Topamax. I'm afraid to. I'm thinking removal of this Mirena will help. Can anyone offer some info on how their migraines became after removal?

I'm a 24 year old female, the doctor put me on topamax about a year ago for my migraines, since they stopped making midrin. It made me sleepy beyond anything. Food and drinks started to taste odd, I stopped taking when I lost insurance because it was $170.00 a month. I had been wondering if I should take it again and now after reading this stuff, I am not going to be doing so, while the weight loss would be nice, I don't need to lose my memory at 24 when I have a 3 year old son to worry about, thanks to call that have posted. :D

I've had migraines almost all my life. I've tried numerous meds but have found that Fiorcet helps the most. The only problem with it is that it is somewhat addictive and I've built a tolerance to it. So, recently my dr. prescribed Midrin. I've been taking one a day for the last 3 days and am experiencing terrible side effects - nausea, confusion, extreme fatigue, tiredness, laziness, lack of motivation and, worst of all, my headaches have gotten worse!!! I'm waiting on a call-back from my dr. on what to do but I can't imagine this medicine possibly working for me.

My 14-Year-old daughter has very large bruising on both legs after taking this med for three days. This bruising was NOT from any injury, as she was bed-ridden from her migraines.

I've been off Yasmin for about 3 months now, my periods have been coming regularly and I haven't had too many problems. The last 2 weeks I have had a headache that I have woken up with everyday and it seldom goes away. I've tried taking decongestants in case it's sinus and also advil, ibuprofen, and midrin (a Rx migraine med). I have also started breaking out super bad. They aren't like normal zits though, just little blisterlike things all over my nose and cheeks, it's spreading down towards my mouth now and I don't know how to make it stop. I have never had a problem with acne before. Has this happened to anyone else going off the Yasmin? Does it go away? What products should I use?
