I just happened to do some research about lisinopril, and happened to stumble into this website. I am 43 years old, newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetics, i also have a history of hypertension and migraine which is under control. my physician just switch my medication from Norvasc to lisinopril, Im already on my 3rd week of taking it, 20mg a day, however, i noticed that i have more frequent headaches, more of a migraine headache that pulsate in one side of my head, i tried taking some over the counter medicine, but with no relief, i went back to see my doctor, and i was given some sumatriptan for the migraine, but at the back of my mind, i already suspected that the lisinopril might have triggered my migraine headaches, i have a relief when i take the sumatriptan, however the migraines keeps coming back. and its been seven days already, i was not able to work one day, because the migraine made me nauseated and vomit. i was doing well with my other medication, and never had migraine like this that last for 7 days up to now.after reading the comments. i have second thought of taking this medication.it seem like it might be the one that triggers my migraine headache. what do you think?

I had my Mirena inserted yesterday afternoon during a hysteroscopy. The procedure went fine, and other than some cramping (and bleeding - which I knew would happen), last night I was feeling fine.

I woke up this morning with the absolute worst migraine headache I have ever experienced. I believe the nausea and dry heaving I've been experiencing all day are from this huge headache. So far, I am not impressed with Mirena - I wish I had found this website prior to my surgery. Although I'm not entirely sure at this point whether my migraine is due to the Mirena, or the anesthesia from my surgery. My doctor was VERY high on Mirena, and basically talked me into it. I went to her with the intention of having a robotic-assist hysterectomy. I have three children (and don't want any more), and have severely heavy periods - I get anemic every month. She seemed to indicate that she'd like me to try the Mirena first, and if it doesn't work out, then the hysterectomy. With three small kids, I don't think I can withstand the months and months of side affects that I have read on this site.

I was prescribed this medicine by my back doctor as I have a herniated disk in my lower back. Injections didn't seem to be doing anything and since this medicine which is intended to treat seizures, has the side effect of blocking nerve pulses to the brain. I thought I would give it a try and see if I could get through the day. I had been on Hydrocodone but that stuff made me dizzy and nauseated if I didn't lie down after taking it. I don't remember the exact dose but I don't care to one way or the other. I had auditory hallucinations and a migraine headache for 3 days. I ended up missing two days of work and could barely function. Maybe that was the idea as a seizure medication it would dope them up and they wouldn't need to function.

Hello hello,
I am feeling like myself again. WOW!!!! Who could have thought that something so small could cause so much havoc. Taking it out was not painful at all. I was about to ask my doctor how painful it was going to be when she told me "I already took it out". I was like whoa!!!!! Instantly, the intensity I feel from the migraine headache subsidized. I mean I could actually open my eyes fully and not worry about the light in my eyes. That headache was so bad I will never be able to describe it fully.

I AM HAPPY again. I almost forgot how happy and fun I used to be, but not anymore. No more headaches, bleeding, bloating, severe TIREDNESS AND MOOD SWINGS, migraine headaches, aches in my entire body and the tingling feeling, low energy, etc etc....no more of these. And guess what? I am able to fit in my size 8 pants again and mind you; I only took this thing out on May 21, 2009--yes I mean it. I was barely fitting in my size 10s because I was always so bloated. I have had energy to cook, clean, play with my 13mth old, work out, eat when I'm hungry (not the other way round with the Mirena), and so many other things I wasn't ablt to do before.

My husband and I are close again if you know what I mean-:).
Ladies, I said it here before and I will says it again - you know your body better than anyone. If you are not feeling like yourself (and u're sure u started noticing the changes after you had the Mirena put it), please have a talk with your doctor and insist they remove it.
My doctor was very understanding about the whole issue. She even took the site address and made notes of all the symptoms I talked about. She has known me since I was a teenager and she knows I cannot simply be imagining these things that were going through my body.

I just wanted you all to know that you see and feel the difference - you really do. I dropped 6Ibs since it was removed...I hope the trend continues. Wish you all the best!

I started with Provera in early March 2009 then my doctor prescribed for me to start taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo as soon as I'm done with Provera to control my heavy bleeding, both pills were not strong enough so I was prescribed to take Femcon Fe in the same month. I have finished 2 packs and have experienced a major weight gain, my appetite increased and always hungry. I feel nauseated all the time after taking it and I'm always sleepy and fatigue (don't know if this is from Femcon or my anemia). Towards the last week of my 2nd pack, I had a severe migraine attack that caused me to extremely vomit which I have strained or pulled a muscle in my chest and had numbness on my left side of my head and body. Ever since this migraine episode, I have headache everyday and blurr vision on my left side and decided to discontinue taking the pills. My Internal doctor performed an EKG and made me set up an appointment to take an Echo Stress Test which resulted an abnormal unspecified cardiovascular. Now I'm doing a thorough follow up with my Cardiologist and doing a second step of Nuclear Stress Test to identify the abnormality of my heart. In addition, my Neurologist set up an MRI to follow up on my migraine, headache. and numbness on my left side of my body. Before taking this pill, I only had the bleeding problem now I have additional "serious" medical condition that I have to worry about. Taking this pill is not worth it and I would not recommend this to anyone.

I am quitting Yaz tomorrow. All totaled, I've been on it for about 3 years (I quit a year and a half ago because I was getting terrible yeast infections and gross brown discharge every month, but then after I quit I didn't have a period for three months, and that drove me nuts, so I got back on). I've recently realized that I have EVERY symptom. I have zero sex drive (actually, less than zero--the thought of sex makes me sick to my stomach) and I used to be way more "excitable" than my boyfriends. Now my bf thinks I don't find him to be attractive, which couldn't be more false! When we do have sex, I do not get wet (ever) and do not have an orgasm about 90% of the time (I used to have multiple EVERY time). I get foot cramps every night (no joke), sometimes multiple times per night. I've gained 20 lbs since I started. I get migraines every month with my period, and sometimes as many as one per week. Though it cleared up my acne, I still get really big cystic acne around my period, so that small benefit isn't enough to outweigh all of the horrible side effects.

Like someone else said, it also has taken away my feelings. I don't feel much of anything anymore...no happiness, no sadness...nothing. I'm always exhausted, no matter how much I sleep, and even with regular exercise and an extremely healthy diet. I get sore nipples and cramps...something I never got pre-Yaz. I just can't take it anymore (literally). I'd rather be zitty than be a fat, sad lady with ZERO sex drive.

I was started last Thursday for sinus infection. I ended up in ER on Sunday with what I thought was a migraine headache with nausea and vomiting. Which I have a history of. Thank God the doctor on call did not give me the normal shot which I usually get and send me home. He was did blood work and found out the my liver function test was so high that it was not safe for me to go home so I spent two days in the hospital to get my liver functions back to safest enough level to send me home. And they are not normal yet. So be ware of this meds or any meds that it is related to

Thank God I am not crazy! I am so glad that I found this website and now know that other women are experiencing the same things that I have been experiencing with the Mirena. I had my Mirena put in a little over 3 months ago and almost immediately started feeling like I had aged 15 years. My back was killing me, my knees have never stopped hurting, I have acne in places that I have never had it before. I also have had heart palpitations and almost passed out at a Disney On Ice Show for no apparent reason. The headaches were not that bad at first but they are getting worse and last week I had a major migraine headache that made me sick to my stomach. I had to call my husband home from work because I was worried that something was going to happen to me and I was home alone with my 2 daughters. I have naseau daily and sore breasts which led me to think I had gotten pregnant. The mood swings have also been terrible. I am short with my husband and my daughters. I also do in home daycare and have had no patience with my daycare kids. I have not felt like myself at all. After I had my baby girl in August 2008, I ended up being 15 pounds below my pregnancy weight but within the 3 months of having the Mirena, I have gained 20 pounds! I have cut back my caloric intake but the weight just seems to keep packing on. That is when I started connecting the Mirena to my problems and found this forum. I am convinced that my problems are from the Mirena and my husband and I have decided to have it removed. I could go on and on with the symptoms but these are the major ones.

My younger sister has had the Mirena for over a year and claims to not have had any problems. However, I know she is battling depression and she is putting on weight. I guess it is a medicine that works for some people but not for others.

I have an appointment to have mine removed tomorrow. I may not have given it enough time but it is my body and it is my decision. I just hope my doctor respects my wishes. And I pray that I will get to feeling like myself again someday. Thanks to everyone that has posted because it definitely sheds new light on the situation. I will come back and post after I have the IUD removed. God Bless!

I have been on Advair 2X a day for 2 weeks with a history of migraines. The last 3 days I have had 3 separate migraines with preceding scotomas- the third migraine headache on the third day- was the worst ever and didn't respond to migraine medicine. My husband figured out it was the Advair and I stopped the medication. For those with a history of migraines- don't take Advair as run the risk of severe migraine headaches.

This pill is dumb! I would rather be pregnant than bleed 24/7. I have taken the pill for three weeks and stopped a few days ago. I am still bleeding and its heavy. I normally have a period every three months but since this pill, its been once a week. I will never recommend this pill to anyone.

First off, I am an RN. I was working the night shift and about midnight was struck with a migraine that any light or sound and I thought my head would explode. I personally never had a "migraine" just headaches that 2 Tylenol took care of. Within 15 minutes of this migraine attack I was running for the bathroom and vomited non stop till I felt my stomach was inside out. I left work early. When I got home I took 1 Percocet prescribed for muscle spasm pain following an auto accident. It did not touch the pain. I could not sleep and felt restless. It took a lot of encouragement, but finally let my family take me to the local ER (not my hospital). Upon arrival they inserted an IV which immediately infiltrated and my hand blew up like a balloon. I knew I was off to a bad start and trouble ahead. Another IV line was inserted on my wrist by my thumb. I was told I was dehydrated and needed fluids; meanwhile no bloods were drawn to even know whether I was dehydrated or not, or to even check for some toxin or something; maybe the meatballs in tomato sauce I had for dinner were tainted with salmonella?..Next in comes the nurse and gives me Reglan into the IV for what? She says it will help my nausea.....I did not have any and told her so....she can't to inject it and within 5 minutes I am jumping off the gurney and freaking out with my whole body in some sort of muscle spasm. I am agitated and yelling for someone to help me. My skin on my entire body felt like it was being burned by branding irons. The nurse comes in and gives me IV Valium 10mg twice......I am now more agitated and ready to rip out the IV which is burning my wrist and I am losing control. Meanwhile my migraine/headache is more intense and I felt like my head would explode. Another doctor came in and then ordered 2 750mg Robaxin's and 2 Percocets by mouth. 1/2 hr of jumping around like a jumping bean I finally was able to calm down. I was then D/Cd from the ER without any diagnosis and told to take 2 Robaxin 750 mg 4 times a day with 2 Percocets 4 times a day...As a nurse who just went thru 1 year of Robaxin and Skelaxin treatment following the car accident I was no way going back on those drugs that caused me to be depressed and useless.I saw my own MD the next day and my neurologist and they told me to take what I was prior to this experience. Well, the whole body spasms sneek up on me esp at night and now I am taking Robaxin only when it happens.Needless to say, ER's and all doctors really have no idea what is wrong with anyone unless they have a bleeding open wound that needs sutures. Sad to say this being a health care professional. I have been to 15 doctors in 1 year who have yet to treat me with a cure. Now the migraine thing....was a waste of time in an ER. I have phlebitis on my wrist and can't use my thumb and its been 3 days since the IV was there.

I've been on Topamax since Sept 2007 and the only side effects I have had were at the beginning were the tingling in the hands and feet when I was brining my dosage up. Soda tastes awful but I no longer drink it and that is a godsend after being a heavy drinker of it for years. I do find there are time when I can't find the right word to say, or I forget what I was doing, but I deal with it. I have lost 20 pounds since being on the medication. After being on it for 6 months the tingling is gone, I usually counteracted it by drinking plenty of water in the morning, that got rid of it. The drug has taken away the migraines, and regular headaches I have suffered from for years. It has also stabilized my moods and taken away my anxiety issues. I'm 36 and have never felt better. Topamax is definitely not for everyone. For those that are suffering, please do contact your doctors and try to get off the medication.

90% BLOCKAGE OF MY SUPERIOR SAGITTAL VEIN IN MY BRAIN..... HUGE BLOOD CLOT IN MY BRAIN DUE TO LOESTRIN 24FE........... THANK GOD I AM ALIVE!!!!!! PLEASE READ BELOW ....................... I was placed on Loestrin 24fe Feb. of this year, after taking it for a month and a half I got a terrible headache on a Tuesday and no matter how much Advil or Tylenol I took it wouldn't go away, well finally I went to the 24hr urgent care center at about 1a.m.Thursday morning. after 3 shots of morphine that didn't work, a Dr. (MALE) trying to tell me that it was just a migraine (from birth control and I should switch to the Depro shot) and I didn't treat it fast enough, so I had to stick it out, mind you they had given me three shots of morphine by this time and my head still felt like it was going to explode. needless to say he discharged me and the nurse that was caring for me said against her better judgment she was letting me go home but grabbed my hands looked me square in the eyes and made me promise if I didn't feel any better or my headache got worse by the morning I would go to the nearest E.R and make them scan my head because at this point she said you don't have to tell me that the medication isn't relieving the pain I can look at you and tell you it isn't working... long story short.. I kept my promise to her and ended up back at the E.R less then 12hrs later, they to put me in minor care and said it was just a migraine headache, gave me morphine again (Which didn't work this time either) until I gave the run down of being at the urgent care center just a few hours earlier and the nurse making me promise to make them scan my head because her concern was what was causing the headaches that wasn't responding to the morphine?? Finally the Dr. (Male) listened to me and ordered a cat scan, said something looked abnormal the Dr. moved me to the real E.R. and then ordered an MRI then B4 they could wheel me back to my room in the regular hooked back up to my i.v. the wheeled me back and did MRV's with and with out contrast. A neurologist came and gave me my diagnosis and told me i was lucky to be alive that I was at extreme risk 4 seizures and strokes and that i needed to notify someone at home of what was going on. I was admitted from the e.r directly to ICU. My diagnosis was Superior sagittal venous thrombosis. I had a 90% (blood clot) blockage of the main vein that runs down the center of your brain (Dr. say its from the Birth control) feel free to write me with any questions, just be careful, with any birth control choice that involves hormones. theres more to this story I am not some crazy lady I am very lucky to be alive and would never want anyone else to go through the hell I have been going through since April of this year.my email address is ****** Thank you again Nurse ***, Fl for saving my life..... You are truly one of God's angels walking among us.

Check this out below... I cut this from a posting on the internet about cerebral venous thrombosis which they also refer to the blood clots of the veins in ones brain. take care, hope to hear from you soon. Headache is the most frequent symptom in patients with cerebral venous thrombosis. However, patients presenting with headache due to cerebral venous thrombosis are uncommon. The association between oral contraceptives and cerebral venous thrombosis is well known. We report the case of a young woman who was admitted to our department for sudden onset of headache. She had been taking oral contraceptives for 6 months. Early pharmacological approach with analgesics failed to alleviate symptoms. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed thrombosis of the posterior and middle thirds of the superior sagittal sinus (SSS). Because the patient was oligosymptomatic, medical treatment with high-dose heparin was started. A clinical follow-up showed headache regression after 2 weeks of therapy. Subsequent MRI showed partial re canalization of the SSS. The patient continued oral anticoagulants for 3 months. Eighteen months after discharge, the patient was symptom-free. We conclude that new, persistent or atypical headaches in patients taking oral contraceptives should be carefully evaluated for cerebral venous thrombosis.

Oh my god!!! I just read through all the posts looking for someone else with this issue! After using the NR for a few months, i developed this horrible back pain that kept me awake at night tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. I also had a tightness in my chest and although i did not develop a rash, i felt itchiness all over my body. I started having flu like symptoms and wondered if I developed adult onset allergies since I never had them before. I even went back to my GYN and told him and he made me feel like I was crazy...I had stopped the NR for a month and then restarted and the back pain returned...So, i stopped again...strangely enough though, the pain remained for another month...I did also develop a severe migraine headache a few days before I had to remove the ring each month. I tried switching to an oral contraceptive but the naseau always stops me from taking it. Reluctantly, I went back to the NR this month. So far, I have naseau daily which comes in waves, bloating, increased discharge, fatigue...I feel pregnant...just figure my body just needs to get used to it again. Not ready for another baby so don't feel i have much choice right now. Any suggestions?

I've been on the NR for 4 months and was really happy with it.... A little discharge and I knew it was from the ring because I don't ever have discharge but it was not bad at all. This past month I started having the most horrible LOWER BACK PAIN. I started mattress shopping and ALMOST bought a $4000.000 mattress to fix the problem.. Then it came time to remove the NR and within 1 minute (or less) of removing my back pain completely went away and I'm again sleeping like a baby, when before I was up most the night with lower back pain. I haven't seen lower back pain as a side effect so I just wanted to post to see if anyone might have the same problem. Not sure if it was just in the wrong spot and I should try again this next month or not..

Surprisingly i have been ok on this pill. i was on yasmin, then switched to yaz (which was the worst pill ever! i had my period for over 3 weeks on that pill). I've just started on Femcon, and it immediately stopped my breakthrough bleeding. the only side affect i think im experiencing is the headaches! i've been really stressed lately so i dont know if it has to do with that or the pill. also i have been REALLY tired a lot. i seem to wake up, do something then want to crawl back to bed for a few hours. anyone else get tired on this pill? other than that, the pill is actually working. now if we could just fix these headaches...

Where do I begin??? I have been taking Yaz for six months. Migraines! The worst migraines ever, I cannot function for one full day and sometimes more, the pain was so intolerable.

Hives! For the past two months, I keep thinking that I had a food allergy; even my doctor diagnosed it as that. After going to the allergist, I was told that I have developed an allergy to the Yasmin pill. No part of my body has been discriminated with this medication. Hives from the top of my head, in my eyes, right down to the bottom of my feet! This has been the worst experience of my life with this pill.

Fatigue to the extreme! I fall asleep sitting up and never feel rested. Yaz has caused me to go up two cup sizes so far, I went from being a 38C to a 40DD and I can't fit into anything. My boobs are sore a lot.

Weight gain, at least 20 pounds heavier. Nausea; Indigestion; Diarrhea & Constipation; Decreased Sex Drive; and Mood swings; Uncontrollable Rages; Severe body aches; Hot Flashes/Chills; Crying Spells; Blurred Vision; Lack of Concentration; Trouble sleeping; Dizziness; Shaking; Restlessness mainly after 9pm when I should be winding down to go to bed; Terrible night sweats; Never ending cravings for junk food; Inability to cope with stressful situations; Feeling of being inadequate; Can’t concentrate; Gassy; Hate family & partners; Irrational.

I have been taking Singulair for about 2.5 weeks. The past few days, I've been experiencing a constant migraine headache, backache and leg aches. My doctor has told me to stop taking the medication. He has also given me an anti-inflamatory because apparently the singulair could have caused some inflammation in the back. Hopefully my symptoms will subside.

Epidural Cervical Injection in January. Immediately: Migraine headache, extreme excess salivation for many hours, BP 150/100, trouble breathing. Dr. told me I was having "stress" from the procedure. Bulls_ _ _! and lies. Menstrual irregularities for 4 months. Had to have uterine ultrasound and endometrial biopsy to rule out more severe conditions unrelated to Kenalog. PLEASE - EVERYBODY READ THE BURTON REPORT which relates to informed consent. I had nothing that even looked like INFORMED consent. I was told no side effects. Be careful for the fluoroscope patients: WHAT TYPE OF DYE WILL BE USED??? VERY IMPORTANT. MANY SIDE EFFECTS TO THAT AS WELL. I have more frequent migraines, food sensitivities, caffeine intolerance, etc., etc. These doctors suck. Funny thing: another "pain" doctor wants to shoot me full of Botox for the muscle spasms. Yeah, right. Let him shoot himself full of (himself) whatever! BE CAREFUL. THIS IS A SERIOUS DRUG AND THEY DON'T TELL US THAT!

Within an hour of the injection I suffered a headache which progressed to a severe migraine headache. I also experienced very high blood pressure and broke out in sweats. The blood pressure did not begin to normalize until 5 days and I am still experiencing a headache (although not a migraine. This is the fifth day after the injection. I was not aware of any of these side effects so I was hospitalized due to the extreme blood pressure and extreme headaches. A cat (sp?) scan and spinal tap was done in an effort to determine the reason.

I received an epidural shot of Kenalog in my cervical spine (C-7). Within 5 minutes after the procedure I had a burning cough and coult not take a deep breath; a problem with extreme excess saliva which lasted hours; a migraine headache; blood pressure of 150/100. Later that evening, I was so high I felt like I drank 20 cups of coffee. I could not go to sleep until I finally took valium at 4:00 am. I woke up a few hours later and once the valium wore off I was still higher than high for almost the whole next day. The doctor claims "you were having a stress reaction". I don't think so. Watch out for this stuff!
