I had Mirena inserted 3 weeks ago. Since then, I have a strange fluttering in the center of my chest and mild pain when I breathe. I also feel nervous at times when I'm resting. I am considering getting Mirena removed.

Took my first dose on Wednesday 11/12/08, and felt amazing. I could not believe how much better I felt when I got up Thursday morning. Took my second dose around lunch time, and noticed that by Thursday night I wasn't feeling too well. Had a hard time sleeping Thursday night as my legs were bothering me. Called the Dr. this morning, as I felt like I might be having some side effects. Wants to see me tomorrow to make sure I'm not having tendon problems. Legs feel weird...just a rubbery feeling, and some mild pain. Makes me feel like I have to move them. Also, felt jittery upon waking this morning. Can't sleep...wake up at 4:30am - 5:30am and can not get back to sleep. I just want to get well, and they give me a medicine that should not be prescribed unless other antibiotics have not worked, and then be supervised the entire time on the medicine. I am so mad, I can't see straight! Now I have to waste more time, going back to the Dr. (not my usual Dr. BTW...I had to go to a "walk in" clinic because I couldn't get into see my normal Dr. soon enough), so that he can tell me my legs are fine, and write me another stupid presciption! I've been dealing with trying to get some meds for almost a week now! CRAZY! Not to mention this crap is really expensive! $60 for 10 stinkin' pills. Would of been $160 if I didn't have insurance. That's a lot of money down the drain! Guess I'm glad I never took my 3rd dose of this stuff, or I might of done some serious damage! DO NOT TAKE THIS...IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK!!!!!!!!

I had been on Effexor for about three years and could no longer stand the side effects so doc put me on Cymbalta. Wonder drug to start with. I felt happy, normal. After two weeks on 30mg per day the doc increased the dose to 60mg per day. SHEER HELL! It started with a mild pain in my left foot and after a week at 60mg both my feet were swollen with intense burning and incredible pain. Went off the meds and four weeks later I am still in intense pain and my feet feel permanently on fire. Anti-inflammatories only take the edge off the pain but not the burning

I've been taking Fosamax once a week for about 4 months. During that time what began-before taking Fosamax-as mild pain in my lower back-has gotten progressively worse. This is the only negative possible symptom I’ve experienced, but of late it has increased and spread to my hips. I decided to stop taking it today, and see if it makes any difference. If it does, I will post another reply here with details.
I think all reading these personal accounts should consider this: obviously many medical professionals see far more benefit than loss in the majority of users. My osteoporosis was only diagnosed via a bone scan 6 months ago. -2.5 The increased pain and worsening conditions in my back might in fact be much worse if I hadn’t started taking the Fosamax. One must beware of apophenia setting in with self diagnosis.
Most posting here already had serious medical needs to have Fosamax prescribed in the first place, given a small percentage of diagnostic errors. Most of the conditions I’ve seen described vary greatly, and without a serious study are purely antidotal. I suspect there are legitimate adverse reactions, but for now the percentage and severity remains a big unknown. There seem to be some activists here, so get a campaign going for publicly funded analysis of the now considerable amount of data on file.
If my back gets better, I’ll still be unsure as it might have been a delayed benefit from the drug. Likely I will take Fosamax again either way. If it doesn’t improve in several months I’ll assume F-max wasn’t the cause and begin taking it again. If it gets better, I will take F-max again to see if the problems return when I do. If they don’t I’ll keep taking it. If they do, that will red-line my ‘coincidence meter’ and I’ll never touch the stuff again.
I hope some will find my approach to our common dilemma helpful. We all have to be our own advocates within the modern health care cabal. I worry about the old adage that when we do so, we have a fool for a client. Feel free to criticize my reasoning, and thanks to all the others that took the time to share your experience. It helped me make my decision, and I’ll share the results in about 6 months.

I just got mine in three days ago. Starting last night (which wasn't long ago because I have been up the whole time!), I got a nasty migraine, lower back pain (been there for 2 days) and I feel so uncomfortable and restless at night and I also got this disgusting taste in my mouth that will not go away. If I have to have someone violate my poor cervix to get it out...I might just have to wait to take it out and bare it. Unless I develop acne, weight gain or any of the other symptoms you ladies have mentioned. Never had a baby, don't want one, and have had a boyish life so maybe it has something to do with my body not wanting me to be a girl so much!! HA! Kidding. Oh yeah, mild pain, MY ARSE!! Breaking a bone felt a million times better than getting that thing inserted. I have never actually cried out in pain before, so you can imagine I was a little embarrassed. Cramps last into the next day but go away from then on?? Yeah flipping right.

Has anyone had any chest pain from taking Omnicef? I've had a dull very mild pain in my chest by my heart that comes and goes. I have no trouble breathing. I was on the drug for over a week and didn't really notice the chest pain because of all the coughing I was doing from my sinus infection. It wasn't till three days after I finished taking the drugs that the pain became more frequent. Has any one felt this?

I had a Kenalog injection into my knee joint after my orthopedic removed 30cc of fluid from the knee. about 2 hours later, I began to experience pain around the knee joint. Rapidly, over the course of 15 minutes, I went from mild pain to pain so actuate, I could not function. I could not move, speak, or do anything that might move my leg in the tiniest of motions. The pain extended down my calf, and into my foot. After 30 minutes, I was in such acute pain distress, I was transported to the emergency room. It was by far the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life, worse than labor, and even more severe than a disc herniation four years prior to that. I experienced flushing and stomach pains and it took too pain injections to bring it under control. After ruling out a cartilage tear or fold with an MRI, it was determined that I experienced what is known as a steroid flair. I spent the next day resting and recovering from stomach pains. The pain subsided but left my knee in a worsened state than before the injection, although the inflammation went down. Needless to say, I will not be accepting Kenalog injections again.

I am 59. Not overweight and now eat intelligently .Had moderate heart attack in August 2001 and have taken 20mg of ZOCOR every day since.About four years ago I stated getting mild pain in right buttocks muscle and groin but thought this was just "AGE" setting in.Doctor thought it was arthritis in lower back and causing associated musle strain.Went to physio but no progress in pain alleviation, in fact pain and weakness kept getting steadily worse.Pain then started in left shoulder last spring (2007) then about three months ago really severe in left hip and buttocks. Sleep was interrupted every night by pain.Movement from sitting position to standing/walking was like a ninety year old, slow and stumbling. My legs felt nearly numb when walking.Getting out of bed in the morning and putting on my socks became an ordeal of PAIN.
Seen my doctor last week and told him of current status and that I couldn't go on like thisanymore. He said to STOP the Zocor immediately. I can feel the difference already, in one week!!! Not perfect but maybe 50% improvement!!!
He ordered a battery of blood tests including PSA . I just hope something else isn't now really F--ked Up from taking this stuff for six years ?
I will defiately NOT TAKE ZOCOR or any other STATIN again!!!

My husband is taking Lipitor for high chol. just like all of you. In June 2007 he began to complain of mild pain in his body...including joints and muscles. He also had a very painful stomach ache with a feeling of tightness. He takes many meds. due to Parkinsonism and depression. As time has passed the pain has become so increasingly bad that I took him to a neutologist to determine if the pain could be a Park. symptom. His doctor is no dummy. He first determined that it was not parkinsons, but did order some tests to analyze a number of other possibilities....one being a form of rheumatiod arthritis that suddenly attacks the entire body without warning. ..it is very rare. In addition he ordered an immediate rheumatology appointment to have another doctor give him an opinion from that specific area of expertise. When we get there the rheumatologist will determine if it is a rheumatoid syndrom or not and then put him on a regimen to help that.if necessary...BUT, HERE IS THE THING THAT THIS FANTASTIC NEUROLOGIST ALSO DID....HE ORDERED HIM TO STOP TAKING ....LIPITOR.....FOR A MONTH AND SEE HIM AGAIN AFTERWARD FOR A FOLLOW-UP FOR THAT POSSIBILITY...LOVE HIM...DON'T YOU!!!!!!
For all those doctors out there who don't want to test the possibility that LIPITOR could be the cause for these life dibilitating symptoms....may ALL THE ATTORNEYS BONE UP ON THIS PROBLEM...AND PREPARE TO GO TO COURT. WE WILL BE FIRST IN LINE.....I am almost positive it is the Lipitor...and I will try to get back to this site and let you know what happens.
God Bless you all.....and God help all of the care givers who also feel pain from their loved ones' physical dilemas.

Propoxy / Darvocet is a very mild pain reliever. I have taken both Propoxy and Vicodin and would have to say that Vicoding worked much better for relieving pain. If you have serious pain Darvocet is not going to begin to give you relief. Actually in my experience Darvocet never even touched my pain, but it also had no side effects for me. I honestly felt like tylenol would have done a better job at relieving the pain though.

I am 45 and started taking Lipitor in December 2004. Iy lowered dramtically the cholesterol count from 225 to 130. After my first 3 month supply ended (with no side effects), I got another order but since I am an avid golfer, came up with horrible tendonitis near my left elbow (i.e. tennis elbow) while diligently practicing for a tournament in June 2005. The pain was so bad, I could not wash my hair after the golf round. I have never had an ache like this in my entire life. It then went into my right elbow. I halved my dose from 20 mg to 10 mg by taking every other day. After reading the posts here, I will now go cold turkey and see if the pain goes away. I have another golf tournament in 2 weeks which I will start practicing for again. It will be very interesting to see if this flares up again. I still have mild pain in both elbows right now. How can we get this information to the FDA? It is too important.

I have been on Zoloft for two and a half weeks, and in a constant mental struggle with the fact of being on psych medication (one minute I'm going to stop taking it, the next I'm giving it another week). Have seen few benefits, although early in the course of usage. One benefit is I'm tiring out earlier at night and getting good sleep. Another is probably a placebo effect of feeling a little more calm and less tempermental. But the negative side effects have been a minor sexual problem in finding great difficulty achieving climax. The worst side effect (assuming it is a side effect of the drug), is urinary incontinence, especially at night. I wake up with urgent bladder pain only to release a small amount of urine with almost no force behind it. This is followed by several daily episodes similar in nature and lately a mild pain in my lower left abdomen. I am visiting the doctor today in hopes of determining the cause of this, but it seems too coincidental to not be related to the Zoloft. I'm stopping cold turkey today.

I have been on a generic form of Norvasc (only 2.5 mg) for two months. No swelling that I have noticed but in the past few weeks I have had mild chest pain that comes and goes. First I thought it was stress or I was imagining it but today I was fine and 5 minutes after I took my dose I felt a mild pain/pressure in my chest. Also,at times I feel dizzy and tired. I am calling my doctor today to get me off of this and hopefully find another BP med. I am exercising now so I can eventually get off meds completely. These side effects scare me more than having mild hypertension.
