Mindy symptoms and conditions

Wow, thank you all for your postings. I just wished I had found this before I had Mirena put in. I had it placed in Feb 2009, it's been exactly 5 months. I have been extremely tired and agitated. I didn't really associate this with the Mirena until reading the other posts. My hair comes out by the handful (with root attached), I never have solid stools, I have gained about 10 pounds even though I have been trying to lose weight through a diet and exercise program. All the weight is in my stomach and people keep asking me if I'm pregnant. I started to wonder if I could be seeing as I was crying all the time, extremely moody, and that I look at least 4 or 5 months pregnant. All pregnancy tests have come back negative. I got this put in the day before my fiance and I got engaged ( not knowing at the time) and last week we were about to call of the wedding because of my emotional state and constant conflicts. I have to wonder how much of this is caused by the Mirena. I have already made an appointment to talk to my doctor after reading what all these other women have been through. It's just so tough because with any type of birth control their are side effects so I don't want to make it out to be like this is the worst thing ever, it may be exactly what someone is looking for, but just be informed that there are some side effects because I like a lot of other women on this post was lead to believe that there were no side effects or very little side effects.

I am a 25 year old, who was perfectly healthy prior to recently when I was diagnosed with Nephritic Syndrome and Minimal Change Disease and possibly FSGS (kidney diseases) I was put on 60 mg of Prednisone for 1 month then I was lowered to 40 mg for one month and I am then dropping to 30 mg. I am also taking Fosamax for my bones and a Vitamin D pill because my last lab test showed low vitamin D levels.

I am dizzy constantly and can not live a normal life, I can not drive or do any activities that I had previously done. My chest is so tight and constricted all of the time, my heart rate is so fast and pounds at my chest. I have no energy to do anything, I can barely open a door at times. I am beginning to grow unwanted hair on my face. My abdomen is always bloated. I have pain in my rib cage, and shoulders. I feel very sore throughout my entire body. I do not really sleep at night, so I look very tired all the time.

I have actually lost weight, I have no appetite at all. I am down 10-15lbs.

Now for the Pro- my Kidney Diseases are currently in remission and this has happened much faster than the Nephrologist had thought.

I am very anxious to getting my life back to normal and getting off the Prednisone.

Has any one else experienced increased heart rate, chest tightness, or rib pain?

I just reread my posting, and I just wanted to let you know that I do not want to scare you! Since you've only been on the pill for 2 weeks, I would think that you would bounce back quickly. Of course, you need to talk to a doctor about all of this, but in my experience getting the poison out of my body was my only option. I just wanted to apologize for coming on too strong! It is just that when you have been through this nightmare, it angers you to hear about yet another person that has been negatively affected by this pill.

Question for anybody:
Is there any way that we can rally together and somehow either get this pill off the market or at least get the word out about how dangerous it is? I worry every day about the women who are on it and do not know that it is Yasmin that is causing their anxiety, depression and other symptoms. I do not know where I would be if I would not have figured out that Yasmin was causing me all these awful symptoms.

The butterflies and nervous feelings that you describe were my experience exactly. Then mine became much worse and turned into full fledged anxiety/panic attacks. It was horrible! I just wanted to let you know that from judging by my experience and hundreds of other womens postings here, your symptoms are much like all of ours on Yasmin. You will be in my thoughts. The Yasmin nightmare is no fun.

Seeing as im only 15 I didnt know how bad it could be. I was at my friends house and her uncle left the bottle in her room on accident. Befor he could relize he did that we snached the bottle up and took out a few. We washed them down and not too long after he came back to get the bottle we acted innocent. I started to feel dizzy while I was playing my video game. My neck was getting a little stiff too. My mom came to pick me up and I got in the car showing no emotion at all. I fell asleep in the car and when I got home I fell on the couch and fell asleep again. My mother told me to go to my room and I slept from 7am to 6:30pm that night. When I woke up I was suprised at what the time was and I called Mindy and she said she was asleep for two hours. I think there is nothing wrong with it if you dont take it often. If I was ever to take it again I would be really sleepy so it would knock me out.
