I've just started taking Yazmin again for the 3rd time. The first time I took it I was on it for two years and when I split up with my partner I decided to take a break from it. It wasnt until I went back onto it again after about 8months I started getting very moody and decided to stop taking it to see if it made a difference. Within a few months I was back to my usual self. After a miscarriage during this year I decided to take things easy and go back onto the pill for a while. I am now on my second pack and I feel terrible. I am very depressed, my body is very sore and I am extremely thirsty and nauseous. The slightest little thing bothers me which is not usually the case. I have read through quite a few of these comments and I can relate to a lot of them, thank goodness I thought I was going mad. All I hear is good things about Yasmin, which I am sure is the case for a lot of women but it just does not seem to work for me.

I have been on NuvaRing for almost three weeks. Just a few days in I experienced headaches, nausea, cramps, a loss of sex drive, I have been extremely irritable. I just recently had a miscarriage and hadn't started my period so I decided to start taking birth control to make me regular again. I was told to keep taking it that side effects would lower and I would feel fine again soon. Still waiting for that to happen.

I had a Kenalog injection in my left bum check in June 2007 to reduce hayfever symtoms. My menstrual periods are always regular - since the injection they have been VERY irregular, more days on than off. I also had a very heavy bleed which i thought was a miscarriage at the time (if it was a pregnancy then it would have been unplanned). I now think that my irregular periods and the heavy bleed are due to the Kenalog. I also have a mark at the site of the injection which is not fading - i think it will scar. When i went to my GP to complain about my irregular periods the GP dismissed me and said that i had an STD and sent me for a swab!!! I knew he was wrong and i felt very humiliated. My GP did not warn me about this side-effect of Kenalog, even though i asked about them. I have been told that the Kenalog will be in my body for 3 months - i only hope that things return to normal once it has left my system. I will never have it again.

I've been on the pill for almost two weeks now, the first week I had no symptoms then on Monday I started bleeding and have been bleeding ever since. I hope the symptoms go away soon because I don't know how much longer I can take the bleeding espically since I just had my period less than two weeks ago.

I have just come across this site, while looking to find out why I have been experiencing heart palpitations for the past two months - out of the blue!!! and usually "exercise" induced. I had some tests and have been told they are Premature Atrial Contractions "PACs". I started taking Yasmin in April, after having tried others over the past year (tri-cyclen lo and alesse) which did not work for me as the progestin was not strong enough. I am in my 40s and never took the pill before. Yasmin was great, it significantly reduced my "physical" pms (severe inflamation, severe bloating, severe sore breasts) which I experience for 2-3 weeks a month. However, sometime in mid to late June, I started getting palpitations/tremors out of the blue. The first episode freaked me out and lasted for about two weeks. At first I thought it was allergy medication mixed with my thyroid med, which can happen - but I cut out the allergy meds and still got them. They seem to come about 6hrs to a day after I fexercise/figure skate and they last from 2 to 5 five days. It's very irritating and nerve wracking, and I feel very agitated. I am also out of breath more than usual when walking up stairs, a little light headed and have some tightness in the chest. My legs also are weak, which makes no sense given my exercise regimen. I then lowered my thyroid replacement from .125 synthroid to .100 - too much thyroid med can cause some palpitations. Anyone who has mistakenly taken a second thyroid pill having forgotten that they already took one will understand. Even with the lower dose I am still getting the palpilations. I am totally at a loss as to why all of a sudden this is happening to me (perhaps perimenopause??). I have had the odd flutter here and there in my live, but nothing like this. It just doesn't make any sense ag ll. Can one's health just change like this overnight?. I am otherwise healthy, slim, have "lower" blood pressure (apprx 100-90/70-60)I skate 3 to 5 times a week, I have a full time job and yes I do push myself, but this is getting ridiculous. The only thing I can attribute it to is the Yasmin, ... but my symptoms only started after a few months not instantly, whereas it would seem that most of the the women here noticed the side effects faster. I hate to stop the Yasmin because I will have to return to pms "hell", but I suppose I will give it a try to see if the palpitations subside. At this point, I have been offered a low dose "beta blocker" and have refused. I am stunned to think that all of a sudden I have heart issues, especially since my Dr has always kidded me my that I will never have heart problems with my blood pressure. I will stop the Yasmin tonight and post another message in a few weeks one it is out my system. Here's hoping it is the Yasmin.

I was exposed to Lupron in the early weeks of my pregnancy. The pregnancy did not survive and I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. Lupron is pregnancy category X. I am afraid that it caused me to lose the baby.

I had a Kenalog injection for severe hayfever a month ago during my period. The hayfever was cured immediately. However I wasn't told of any side effects. My period lasted for 2 weeds which was most unusual and another started a few days later. It didn't even look like a period as the bleeding was black. I was extremely worried as i had severe stomach and back pain. My doctor mentioned that it could be a miscarriage until I reminded him of the injection which he then told me of the side effects. I was still charged for the doctor's visit!

Hi,
I was on Yasmin for 2 years and didnt have any side affects while on the pill. Then I stopped taking it May 2005, the first threes months were fine and then I got pregnant and had a miscarriage.... the pregnancy hormone stayed in my system till October! so my hormones have been completely out of control. After that I suffered extreme panice attacks, I really thought I was having a heart attack! I was driving myself to the ER every other weekend, and had every test done under the sun to make sure I was indeed healthy. Thankfully all test came back normal and my anxiety/panic attacks have gotten much better. I never thought any of this had to do with Yasmin until I recently have been thinking about going back on it to help my skin (which has gotten horrible) and was doing some research on line. Now that I'm reading all these post I dont know what to do....

Hey all,
What can I say, but hello FAMILY. Are we all alike are what. Well this is my story! I started out on Depo over 10 years ago. It worked fine for me I thought! Came across a site similar to this talking about Depo that it scared me to death. I thought I am young, just got with a great guy and down the line may want to have a baby, so I got off of Depo and started the patch!!! Big mistake, it made my breast feel like cement blocks!!!!! So stopped the patch after two months and my Gyno said try Seasonale. Big mistake two, I felt like a balloon was in my stomach and I was going to die if someone would not just "punch" me in the stomach and bust it. So I called my gyno and she said we need to give you something else. Well in between the time of stopping the patch and switching to Seasonale, and taking a break of about 2 weeks, I found out I was pregnant. Well sadly to say, I had a miscarriage and decided that I needed to get back on something. Well they gave me Yasmin. Well I am not going to lie, i thought it was the best thing that happen since sliced bread. Yeah right!!! I have been on Yasmin maybe 5 months and the symptoms I was having from Depo, the patch and Seasonale never left and I continued the dreadful cycle putting this Yasmin in my body!!!!! The following are my symptoms!!!!:
NO SEX DRIVE AT ALL. It use to be there, would be open to it anytime of the day. Now I dread going to be cause I know my fiance, now husband is wanting it. I feel horrible for him and I need to do something before I lose him.
IBS, I have never had any problems, well now I have been told I have "IBS". Had to have a colonoscopy and everything. Anything I ate went right thru me if you know what I mean. It scared me, so I went to the doctor. Funny thing is I never had problems with High blood pressure, and the day of my procedure, my blood pressure was high. Then about 3 days later the doctors office called and said I neeeded to go see a PCP cause my blood count was low. Went to the doctor and my blood pressure was high again. They ran all kinds of test on me and nothing was wrong.
MOODY, good lord, can you say Capital "B". I am so evil, hate dealing with folks, very easily irritated and I hate my job.
Did I say NO SEX DRIVE AT ALL!!!!
Shortness of breath, headaches, always wondering if I am pregnant, but my periods are regular and if I stop taking something, I am one of those folks that my period always comes right back. So as you can see my husband is very fertile and I must be as well. So I must take something!!! Help please, what can I do, I don't want kids right now, but I love my husband and really don't want to use Condoms.
Another side effect, sore nipples/breast!!!! Help!!!~!!

I was put on Paxil after a recent miscarriage. I had an emotional breakdown several days after the D & C. Instead of thinking it was just hormones, the Dr;s thought I was having panic attacks, which I have never had before. They put me on Paxil CR &Xanax. I did not take the Xanax after the first does because I hated the way I felt. Almost as soon as I took the Paxil I became sick. Nausea, vomiting, total loss of appitite, insomnia, headaches, dizzy, cramping in my legs, and finally heart palpitations. After only 4 days of this drug, and being told I had a "bug" I went to the ER. They were baffeled by my heart problem, because after many tests my heart appeared to be fine. After the ER Dr made many phone calls she discovered that heart complications is a RARE side effect to Paxil. This was NOT listed on the papers the RX gave me, nor is it on the website for the drug. I was immediately taken off of it. Emotionaly I am fine. Physically I have been having all of the same symptoms, however they are decreasing. I will never take a drug again without doing my homework. This hate been a nightmare, and I have lost nearly 3 weeks of my life.

I am a 38 yr old woman who recently had a miscarriage and D&C. Then I was suffering from a sinus infection. My doctor prescribed Omnicef and it's been horrible. I've had abdominal cramping, which I couldn't tell whether it was from the D&C. Then on the 4th day started having diarrhea. On about the 6th day, I started getting maroon colored soft stool which appeared to be bloody upon wiping. I'm on my 11th day of the 15 day regimen, and I'm stopping, because of the bloody appearing stool and abdominal cramps. I called my doctor, and I was advised to come into the office.

I have taken many different brand of BC pills in the past 5 years. After my miscarriage doctor thought I should try Yasmin. Worst side effects. Only in the third week of pills and I have nausea, vomiting and severe leg cramps. Quiting today! Dont recommend it to others. Ortho tri-cyclen is way better.

I'm on my 2nd month of taking Femcon. The first week starting it, I had heart flutters and anxiety, then coinciding with depression and mood swings. I was patient though and all of that subsided. Throughout this entire time, I've had occassional nausea in the first few hours after I wake, but no vomiting. My ankles have been continuously swollen since on it, and I'm generally just bloated, I have to take a water pill to relieve some of it. My breasts have been tender, off and on, since I started taking it.
-- By misstammy1 | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meBy the end of the 1st pack, I figured I was ok, I had my last period just a little over a week ago. A week after my cycle had ended, I started spotting, and now in the past 24 hrs I'm heavily bleeding, I'm actually concerned. I'm passing clots, bleeding heavily, having moderate to severe cramps in my lower back area. I'm currently trying to reach my doctor and hoping they'll call me back, since I've had 2 miscarriages in the past, I'm showing signs of a possible miscarriage, but I've been told that the pill will give you symptoms of pregnancy, so I don't know. Any advice on what to do? I believe I will see if the doctor will put me on Estrostep, I took that about 7 years ago and had no problems with it, but the doctor felt that Femcon is more effective against pregnancy. Anyone know what could be happening with me?
