About 8 weeks ago i was doing a really hard training session and had to pull out because of severe chest pain. i was taken to hospital where i was for 2 weeks and told i had multiple 'quite substantial' clots in both my lungs which had caused tissue death through lack of blood supply - pretty scary for a fit and healthy 18 year old. since then ive been having INR blood tests twice a week and been on Warfarin. they say i have to be on it for 6 months then they can test to see if its a genetic thing and if i'll have to be on it forever. im doing just as much exercise now as i was before it happened but i've put on about 5kgs. have other people been told they can't drink while on Warfarin? i asked my doc if he meant moderation or zero and he was like 'do you want to have a stroke?'
what 18 year old gets PE? it's such an old person thing, and seriously stuffed up my life, hopefully only for now.

I am 38 and I have been using the NuvaRing since 3/23/08. My GYN thought it would help regulate my hormones, as I was experiencing vaginal dryness and decreased libido. I have been on BCPs since I was 18, except for 2 pregnancies and breast feeding. I had no problems on BCPs, except the vaginal dryness and decreased libido (which have been coming on gradually). So far, I have breast enlargement and tenderness, emotional lability, and I have not slept well since it went in (waking up frequently and vivid dreams). I'm going to stick it out a little while, but WOW, I didn't sign up for this. If this form of BC has less hormones then why do I feel this way?

I had 2 c-sections back to back and I had so much complications with the patch in the past that I figured the natural choice was the IUD. I talked to my OB/GYN and he suggested the MIrena. I did a little research and talked to a few women who had it and htey seemed to like it, so I figured what the heck, might as well...
BIG MISTAKE!!! I had a lot of pain when the IUD was put in, but right away I started gaining weight. I gained 30 lbs and even with running 2 miles 4 times a day and doing other activities, I lost nothing. Additionally I started having my cycle for 2 weeks straight and had constant breast sensitivity and pain, back pain, pain in my lower abs, weakness in my joints, mood swings, NO SEX DRIVE WHAT-SO-EVER, gassy, bloated all the time, etc... Basically, you name the symptoms, I had them.
I finally had the Mirena removed on Thursday 19 Mar, 08 and I am so happy I did. I am seeing changes already, my body is in serious withdrawal though. I am tired and listless, sleepy and moody, but I am hoping these symptoms will soon past.
My advice to anyone wanting to get this IUD put in, think twice!
Can someone tell me how long it took for the symptoms to go away?

I have been taking Singulair for I'm guessing, 9 years now. I have had good results with it. I have Chemical Sensitivities and have trouble with many drugs, but Singulair seems to be fine. I have noticed lately that Singulair may be making my reactions to mold worse. So I am going to do my own trials/tweeking to see if it is the singulair that is th culprit. I am not by any means bashing Singulair, I believe it has helped me greatly over the years. I would suggest however that you do your own assesment as to whether the Singulair is causing the problems, don't always trust the doctors or Phamacuetical Companies that tell you your observations are false. I know myself that you can have reactions that are not the most reported or obvious ones. Trust your self and your body. Prescription drugs are both miracles and yet badly overused. Like everything else, moderation is best. Unfortunately the temptation of profits overshadows sound judgement too much these days. A very good any funny look at this growing problem is on the Dr. Mercola web site (www 'dot' mercola 'dot' com) click on 'Watch the town of Allopath Video Now' Link. Trust your own judgement especially where you children are concerned, but don't count Singulair out without a test first ( try going off of it for a while to see if symptoms improve and go back on to see if they comeback, maybe)

I
I am currently taking a 40mg lipotor. I have devloped chronic hives mosttly on my arms and thighs. The itchng is so bad that I scratch these welts in my sleep. I have been on Plavix 75 mg since my first cardio-chatherization which has made my blood so thin that I actually bleed when I scratch. I'm now in a itch and scratch cycle that keeps me from sleeping. My doctor originally started me on 10 mg. This was before I started having clogged coronary arteries'. I am 74 years old. I have just had my second bypass operation. I started on lipitor 10 mg about eight years ago. I developed a hive like welt in my groin area. This welt or hive itched so bad that I damaged the skin. I went to a dermatoligist and the only answer he had after a biopsy was that it was probably Lichon Planus. I had a triple pass July 18 2007. That is when my doctor increased my lipitor dosage to 40 mg. He had increased it to 20 mg several years. I finally realized that it may be the 40 mg dose that causes me to wake about three hours later with Hives and itching that is so bad that even scratching doesen't relieve the itch.
I have seen two dermotoligsts. They can find nothing that I am allergic to. This condition has gotten progressivly worse over the last three years. I am taking Zanix and Benedryl I have eliminated all of my other medicines as the cause.
The only thing I could see as a possible cause is acute anxiety. After seeing my family doctor he prescribed the Zanix.
My last hope for relief is to get off Lipitor. I stopped taking it two days ago
and I already see a change in this chronic hive condition; I am assuming that it may take a while to see if I have solved my problem.
Incidently I started takng Zocor about three years ago instead of the Lipitor and I had such severe neck and shoulder pain that it was obvious Zocor was the cause.
zocor was the cause

I have been diagnosed with ADHD,I've been on Wellbutrin SR, for one week now and started with 150mg, This week I am to double my dose, I feel light headed all the time, a little lack of sleep and small headaches that move around, fade in and out alot.also Heart Pains now and then too. I've had alcohol and my Dr. said it would be o.k in moderation, when the instructions say not to, So i'll stop. I don't want a seizure. I'm in school and i'm not sure I should be testing this now, as i HAVE TO PASS, all i need is help with attention, not really depression, my question is should I be on this now or at all, what can i expect in the future, and are holistic alternatives good or better? Is it safe to excersize or will i get a heart attack at 23---PLEASE ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED.

This medication should be used in moderation. It is very
addictive and you can really become dependant on it. I first
used it for pain but it would make me feel so good that i would
take it every morning before work because it made me hyper
and very awake!!!!! When you finally run out of medication
you start having withdrawls such as irritable, grouchie,
mean, hot flashes ect. If I had it to do over again I would
never have started taking it , however it effects people
different and Im sure it does help people if they take it
correctly.

It is nearly 2 years since having a bilateral mastectomy with affected axillary lymph nodes removed on both sides. This was followed by AC and CMF chemo and radiotherapy, all completed a year ago.
I was put on Tamoxifen but after a while I had side effects such as aching of muscles and joints. I was then put on Arimidex, but by April, I could no longer function through loss of sleep caused by the aches etc. I came off it for 3 months to go on overseas.
I resumed taking Arimidex and now after 3 months, I began to take them every other day to see if the symptoms would lessen. They didn't in any way, and now I have decided not to take anymore until I see the specialist in January for my check up.
I am unable to take anything stronger than paracetamol and then in moderation as it brings on IBS which is not any fun either!

I have noticed that neurontin has caused me to feel better emotionally and mentally. It has remarkably decreased my depression and anxiety. I am the type of person who has intense fear about things in life and neurontin seems to take it away. It gives me the courage to "get things done". I am a very hurt person and need this type of medicinal help. Yes, it does seem to make me very hungry; therefore, increasing weight, but a person doesn't have to give into their hunger. It makes me feel like life has meaning again. Yes, I have noticed dry mouth, but I just simply drink water. It seems to intensify my libido to no end. I want to have intercourse all the time when I'm taking neurontin; however, I have a hard time climaxing. It takes me at least 3 to 4 hours to have an orgasm, but it feels pleasant until then. At this point, I have nothing, but good things to say about neurontin because I have been a girl who has been severely depressed with intense anxiety and this seems to help me out tremendously. I truly believe that Jesus has sent this medicine to me in order for me to get through these difficult times in life. Yes, my hair has seemed to be falling out a little, but I have attributed it to the stressful event of my ex-boyfriend beating me up. I have often been told that the closer you get to Jesus, the harder the devil tries to hurt you, but the devil is not going to win my soul. There is no shame in admitting that we need medicinal help at times or even for the rest of our lives. That is what doctors and medicine is for. Every drug has their side effects. Everything needs to be done in moderation. I will continue to post when I notice other side effects. This is nice to have other people share in their good and bad experiences with neurontin.
