Let me just say THANK GOD for this website...i began taking yaz last may because i saw so many commercials for it and thought it would be great... all summer long i LOVED it and raved about it to anyone who would listen, probably because of the rapid breast growth it caused ( i went from a small b to a double d in a period of six months), but ive been feeling extremely melancholy and moody as of late, and i have ZERO patience; ill snap at the smallest thing. but what inspired me to finally get off of yaz is the weight gain; i used to have a wonderfully toned body, very nice abs and muscular slender legs; since taking yaz, i have gained 17 POUNDS and working out incessantly and watching my diet is doing absolutely NOTHING to help this weight gain...it didn't cause acne, but ive never had acne so im not sure if that side effect really applies to me...but im constantly tired, bitchy, and craving junk food, even when im not hungry. all i want to do is nap all day long and im just extremely depressed all the time. im throwing my pack out as we speak and i suggest anyone who is having similar side effects do the same because they always get worse.

I am a 40 year old woman. I was having to do a lot of mediation for my work and discovered I had situational high blood pressure. BP was 160/105, pulse 90. Started taking metroprolol and have had terrible dreams about huge spiders at night. That they're in my bed or dropped on my head. Creepy.

My major complaint however is that I feel fuzzy in my mind. I am a paralegal and I have difficulty grasping the word I'm looking for in situations - which is a terrible problem. I do believe that the medication calms me down - but I feel a tiny bit out of it - not really forgetful, just a lot of difficulty grabbing onto and expressing what I'm trying to say. "Fuzzy" is the best word I can use to describe it.

My daughter has been on Yasmin for a year and a half - it was prescribed for irregular periods and spotty skin. She is 15 and has had a year of nausea, leg cramps, hair loss, headaches, elevated heart rate, fatigue , irritation, angry outbursts ,dehydration severe moodiness and depression and lately- uncontrolled crying for no reason. She also sees black dots after exercising. She has gone from a happy girl who loved exercise to a grumpy couch potato! The doctor diagnosed it as a viral infection and suspected glandular fever - she missed a lot of school!
Today she had a day from hell - fought with a teacher and cried for hours. She also takes Ritalin as she is ADD- so I thought it was that - I decided to look up Yasmin and am so glad I did! What a great website! She has just taken a multivitamin and mag.phos - NO MORE YASMIN!!! Any advice on what she can use for her skin? and irregular periods?
A million thanks
Caron

I was looking on the Internet to try to figure out which of my former BP meds the Lisinopril was to replace. I recently had to change insurance and my doc and I were looking for generics to replace what I was taking. One of the new drugs says Lisinopril - HCTZ 20/12.5mg one per day. So my side effect, having read all your posts, is fear of starting it!!! I'm thinking I will just keep an eye on my BP and wait until he returns after the first of the year. Thanks everyone and Merry Christmas. Molly

Does anyone know how vomiting can lessen or negate the effects of birth control? I've been bulimic for years and didn't know if that would cause the birth control to not work. It's not as bad as it used to be, but I still worry. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

God lord! I can't believe everything I'm reading! This has been a HUGE help everyone, thank you!!!!! I've only been on Yasmin for three days and already I'm starting to feel nauseous and having chest pain. My heart feels like it's racing!
My boyfriend wanted me to take the pill, and I'm 26 years old and have never been on it before since he's my first,(I'm a late bloomer) but is it really worth it to take this pill for him if it's going to make me miserable? I'm really debating not going through with this after reading all these posts.

So...would the general consensus be....get the heck off the pill while you still can? Or is there any real benefit to it at all?

Searching for answers,

Molly

My husband, 37 yrs. old, has been on lipitor for 6 months due to high cholestrol (family history).
My question is this: He is a very moody person. Not as calm as before and loses his temper easily. Of course his doctor says lipitor has nothing to due with this. Whatever the doctor says my husband believes. My husband thinks I am foolish.
Could there be a connection? Anyone else have or have seen mood swings in lipitor users?
