After being on lipitor for several years, I suffered all of the most commonly reported side effects, extreme fatigue, muscle pain, weakness etc. I experienced some relief after being off of the drug for several months, but would hope for much more. I have preveiously asked to hear the results experienced by other individuals who have abandoned lipitor, and to hear of any remedies (exercise, other drugs, etc.) other individuals have found to be effective.

I have been on zocor, mevacor, and lipitor for five years or so. After I complained to my new doctor that I was experiencing killer fatigue, calf pains, muscle loss, and tinnitus, among other things, he put me on zetia and coreg and CQ-10. My status has improved much, and I am now laying off the zetia and coreg for a couple of weeks.
I am most disturbed by accounts from individuals who have quit lipitor but have gotten no relief from the symptoms most commonly attributed to lipitor.

I began using Nuvaring last year at around this time, and it was great for a while. Then I started getting yeast infections. And more yeast infections. In fact, they still haven't gone away, even though I switched birth control about 5 months ago. I've talked with two friends and they had the same problem. I have to take yogurt supplements up to 4 times per day to even function. Diflucan doesn't work, neither do the most commonly sold creams (Monistat, etc). I'm about to try a new remedy that worked for them and got rid of their chronic post-Nuvaring "beast infection" (what I have come to call it). It's gynazole cream 2 times for one week followed by 2-3 weeks of boric acid suppositories. Stay the heck away from Nuvaring, and warn all your friends. There's no excuse for them missing this hideous, miserable side effect.
