I get migraines all the time and Excedrin Migraine really helped for a long time. It's the only thing that gets rid of my migraines. However, One day I was doing a lot of different stuff while battling a migraine and I took excedrin more than the reccomended dose for 24 hours without realizing it. I took 2 when I woke up, 2 after lunch and one more at about 5. I think I overdosed because I was having panic attacks and sweating and almost vomiting and losing my vision. Since then I have been more careful and payed attention to only taking it once a day. I have not had the same results since the incident and now whenever I take it I get fatigue, nausea, and most importantly I get depression so bad i can't get out of bed. I have such bad thoughts and everything when I take it and it lasts for about 26 hours. I cry and can't stop thinking about bad stuff and I refuse to leave my bed and can't go to class or talk to anyone. it's really bad. This is also bad for me because I have to choose between haviing a migraine or taking it, getting rid of my migraine but being depressed for one day.

So i began taking the birth control pill as a way to regulate my period and decrease cramping. Needless to say, i started with Alesse and all was fine, except i broke out badly on my back (i have never had acne especially in that area before).. so i switched to Yasmin and have been on it for a few months. Yasmin was great in removing the acne and regulating my period. I now have it for 4 days instead of 6 and my cramps are entirely gone. Recently however i began experiencing headaches and slight bouts of depression. The depression isn't very extreme, but i am feeling a lot more tired than usual, i'm sleeping a lot, and most importantly i've been feeling melancholic and indifferent about things. Therefore i have decided to stop taking it as of today (during my pack) and see if my mood changes. It isn't worth doing this to yourself.

I'm a 38 year old male who has had asthma, allergies, and bronchitis ever since I was a small child. I've tried many different medicines and steroids over the past decades to try an control my asthma. I recently was introduced to Singulair by my doctor, and in the first 2 weeks I had no symptoms and my asthma was miraculously controlled. However, after those first initial 2 weeks I started showing some serious symptoms; nausea, joint stiffness, dizziness, lack of energy, dehydration. But the worst side effect is the MIGRAINES! I used to suffer from migraines in the past (about 4 per year that would each last about 2-3 days max.). Now I have had a migraine for the past 10 days, and if you've ever had a migraine before then you would know how crippling it is. I was waking in the night because the headaches were so bad. I put this solely on the Singulair because I am not taking any other medication except Ventolin (which I have used since I was 5), and I've juggled my diet trying to see if it was a food reaction but it wasn't. I have stopped taking the Singulair for 3 days and counting, but I still have my migraine, I know it takes some time to get it out of my system. Originally I was excited to see the Singulair working but now I can't wait until its gone, its made my life hell. I will go back on to SYMBICORT because it did help manage my asthma, and most importantly; it didn't suffer any side effects from it.

I like it so far... but it's only been 4 days. Does anyone have anything positive to say to get my hopes up? I've tried ovcon35 and ortho-low and both made me really naucious from the start but this one only a little bit. I also lost weight on the other ones because I was always naucious and didn't eat but my appetite so far seems normal. I feel slightly lethargic but that's minor to me. My breasts feel a little tender but I'm an A so if it makes me a B I'll take the pain! haha...... I'll post again in a month once it's been in my system awhile.

I have been using topomax 100mg daily for 6 months now. I started at that dose immediately, as I was having occular migraines on a daily basis. I experienced terrible side effects of memory lapses, tingling in my face and hands, & speech issues for about 6 weeks. It was about that time that I also realized carbonated beverages were tasting like liquid tin. I also have decreased appetite, and have lost 35 lbs. The side effects were awful in the beginning, but I was told they would subside after my body adjusted to the medication. So, I kept telling myself the effects were due to the medication, and would eventually go away, and they did. I have to admit, those 6 weeks were awful. My kids, hubby and I would joke, because Mom just had a "loopy" topomax moment. As of today, the only side effects are the liquid tin taste of carbonated beverages and loss of appetite, and I am now experiencing difficulties sleeping, which could be caused by something else. For me, the 6 weeks of feeling like I was losing my mind were worth going through, as I am continuing to lose some needed poundage, and most importantly, I am headache free!

hi tabbycat.
please don't be scared just be aware. for some people yasmin is the best thing ever for others it is not. i am not sure why doctors keep insisting on changing our pills when we are fine on the ones we are taking already! the only thing i can say is try it but take a good multivit with b6 and b12. tale a cal mag supplement also. drink plenty of water as yasmin has a diuretic built into it. and most importantly watch yourself for any changes, any strange feelings, anything out of character. if you feel bad in any way stop it and go back to your original pill. i am not sure if it bad for the majority of people. i would guess not as it has been approved but it can be bad for some people.
good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I had a kenalog shot in Jan 06. After that I had two pweriods a month for 5 months. It has now been 6 months and I have had no period at all. Also and most importantly I have yhe largest Hole in my buttocks. It looks as if someone took a large bite out of my rear. I have had experience with restalin, and at 550$ It would easily take four doses to fill it in, might I add temporarily. I was not told of this posible side effect. And the doctor did admit that the kenalog is the cause. What worrys me is that it seems to be growing larger. I have appt. with my dermatoligist in two weeks.

I have been taking lisinopril for just over a year now in combination with the generic form of ziac. Within the last week to week and a half, I have had terrible dizzy spells where I thought low blood sugar was the culprit. I have learned it low blood sugar isn't the case. I now have dizziness and extreme weekness where all i want to do is lay iin bed. Today is the first day I have not taken lisinopril. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the extreme lethargic reaction but most importantly, how long does the side effect stay with you once stopping lisinopril intake?

"This patients medication has just been replaced with nasty syrup water. Let's see if he notices." Absolutely nothing. Is this a placebo medication? No nausea, no dizziness, but most importantly, no cough relief - just a disgusting taste in my mouth. Dr said if nothing else, it will help me sleep. Uh, no, it's not good for that either. Maybe I'm resistant to this drug?

Hello. I was on Yasmin for two years. I had a lot of crying and emotional problems, but I never linked it to Yasmin. Then Planned Parenthood put me on Desogen, for no reason other than they were pushing Desogen that month. I developed irritability and no interest in sex so I went off pills completely for 4 months. I went back on Yasmin and OH MY GOD. Everything you guys are saying as far as headaches, nasea, and most importantly - SUICIDAL THOUGHTS! I was crying daily and screaming at everyone. I was petrified that my life was going to end. It was DEFINATELY the Yasmin. Someone else here said they went off for awhile, then when they went back on it was much WORSE. That is what happened to me. I went off and literally a WEEK later all those crazy thoughts and upset feelings left. Evaporated.
Now I'm faced with WHAT THE HELL birth control pill do I try? I've been studying all the differences by reading up on things. Isn't it too bad these stupid doctors don't care enough to really learn about birth control pills and their effects on different people before the DOSE AWAY. I might try the ring. I don't know...

I'm 24 with Endo, I'm getting my 2nd shot on the 16th of Dec.
I am dreding it! I don't think I can go another 3 months. I guess I have to, so I don't get the "Endo pain". Most importantly I'm taking it, so I don't become infertial. I'm looking forward to having a baby. I can't handle all of the symtoms; like hot flashes and then I suddenly get very cold! My sexual feeling is gone, I'm tormenting my boyfriend from the mood swings. There is so much pressure in my head. I get very forgetful and dizzy. I can't sleep at night. I think crazy thoughts. I have bad aches in my back and neck I thought about yoga to help the aches. I can't wait for it to all be over!! Please feel free to email me with any comments at ******
I'm glad to know that I'm not crazy after reading all of your comments.

I know this might sound strange, but I actually suffered hair loss from Yasmin. Now that I'm off Yasmin, I've seen a noticeable and positive difference in my hair.
Because Yasmin is a diuretic, many of our essential vitamins and minerals escape our bodies daily. This is not healthy long term.
Most women have side effects from birth control pills. What we have to realize is that there are other options: why don't we just use condoms instead? That way we don't have to worry about hormonal or other problems and most importantly, condoms offer the best protection against STDs. Plus, if we aren't on the birth control pill, maybe we'll actually want to have sex because we won't feel so darn moody!

I've been taking Yasmin for a year and a half now and have been suffering so many side effects I thought I might be imagining them. But now I know I'm NOT! 2 months after taking Yasmin my hair started to fall out in clumps, and has been falling out for over a year now. As if that wasn't bad enough, I've been moody, weepy, anxious, feeling ringing in my ears and vertigo, tiredness and so many other side effects described by other women on this forum.
I felt not myself for so long now and put it all down to the stress of a moving to a new country. But I know better now and only wish I made the connection sooner. I am going to stop taking Yamin immediately, but am worried about losing even more hair. Have any of you had similar experience, and most importantly - will it grow back?
