I am 21 years old and i had a child 2 years ago. I really wish i would have seen this site before i got mirena, i have had mirena for a little over a week. i have horrible cramping and back pain throughout the day, it almost feels like im going into labor. weird. and i have been taking Motrin for the past week and a half which im sure isnt good for me but it works . and i still have been bleeding ever since. when i had sex it was a little painful. i called my doctor and they said it was normal and it should last no longer than 3 to 6 months ... WHAT !! so this could have been explained before i had it placed.. Thanks a lot. >:-<

my side effects are lower back pain, cramping, bleeding, spotting,

I really wish I would have found this site before making the decision to have Mirena inserted. I had it put in yesterday, September 24,2009. It was the most painful things I have experienced. My Gyn had told me that I would have "period type camps" for a couple of hours after insertion. Well I spent my entire day on the couch with a heating pad on high and 800MG of Motrin. None of this touched the pain. I ended up having to take a sleeping aid so that I could go to sleep and hoped I would wake up the next morning feeling much better. Well I woke up this morning and the cramping was not as bad, but still more than "period type cramps". I also noticed that I was having very bad lower back pain. I was cleaning my house and every time I moved the pain would be stabbing. I have not spotted at all yet, but I know it has only been a day. Today I was working and noticed that my right arm went numb from the elbow to my finger tips and my eyes seem very tired.
I am a little upset because the Mirena booklet did not discuss any of these side effects. And also my Gyn had made it sound really promising because I cannot take regular birth control pills. I think I will be calling them on Monday and asking to have it removed. I really wish I would have done more research before having this done.

I've had the mirena out now for close to 3 months. At first I was losing a lot of water weight - I had gained well over 20 pounds in 6 weeks after having it inserted. Unfortunately, I have plateaued in my weight loss, it's always easier to gain weight than to lose it, right? I still have numbness in my hands, to the point where I am quite clumsy, and I have spells of fatigue and dry-mouth. Before removal I had suffered from the anger and depression towards myself and others, and though it has improved significantly, I still have days where I feel like I could snap just because the 2 year is talking too much. I have found that a multivitamin in the morning gives me a little more boost through the day, and Motrin helps with some of the aches and pains. I'm not quite back to 100%, but I'm getting there. The hardest part for me to come to terms with is how poorly I've treated my boyfriend and our children because of the side effects. Even after 2 or 3 months without it I do suffer some of the side effects, but each day I can feel it starting to get better. I've even woken up a few mornings with feeling in my hands, instead of the tingling "sleep" sensation. All of this from 6 weeks of an IUD... Ugh.

All of the symptoms I suffered were made in previous posts including:
Nausea, severe cramping, severe mood swings, minor hair-loss, increased back pain - especially in lower and middle back, souring/reduction in breast milk, severe weight gain, fatigue, mental fog, vision changes, dry mouth, loss of libido, aggression towards others and myself, severe depression (thoughts of hurting myself), shortness of breath, hives and many more I'm probably not even aware of hahaha. Good luck ladies, this one is a doozy - and remember to report ALL symptoms related to Mirena to the FDA.

My 17 year old daughter is on Yasmin and has been for over a year. She is taking it to regulate her periods and heavy bleeding. We have not noticed any side effects at all. She has a learning disability and a low IQ. She is also on Buspar for anxiety which she has had long before Yasmin. She is also on Strattera for her ADD. Now, after reading and hearing about all these terrible side effects such as stroke, heart disease, kidney failure, blood clots, etc. I am going to ask our doctor about this. I read one post that said if you were on Yasmin and you had to take Motrin you should have blood tests...what kind if this is true? She just had her wisdom teeth out and has taken plenty of Motrin along with other pain medication. This is just way too scary....scared Mom in SC

I am amazed at how many of us are having these problems, yet our doctors call it normal? I got mine put in Jan 09 and have been going downhill in terms of my health ever since. I finally came to the realization that it had to be the Mirena because nothing else in my life had changed. I am currently waiting for my period to start back up so that I can go in an have this removed and replaced by the non-hormonal copper IUD. Good luck to us all.

I just turned "51"

I've been on Yasmin for the past 5 years.

I never have been on a birth control pill in the past as when I was a young teen I tried and couldn't handle the first side effects.

I have had a lifetime of the most HEAVY periods. I have to stayed glued to the toilet on my first two days.

I was diagnosed 20 years ago with ITP where blood platelets deplete. I thought my periods were so heavy because of this. I just couldn't take it anymore so my DR put me on Yasmin.

Yes at first my boobs were big and sore. But after 3 months I thought I had died and gone to heaven with a better life. Period so light.

BUT:
I've gained 40 lbs over this time frame. I look pregnant with the tummy Bloating. I've just had the most thorough physical, ultra sound for fibroids and everything came back normal except which never had previous: Borderline high Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure.

So, I've been power walking and never eat anything bad. ???? so why can't I loose even a pound?

Back in November I went off Yasmin for a month and had a period that hemorrhaged! So I went back on Yasmin. But I'm bloated now more than ever. I know it is the hormone changes.

I'm hooked on Motrin for my headaches which is like a sinus ache in my hear.... weird headache.

BUT: Hmmmmm I've had arthritic symptoms in my joints just over the past 4 years, severe Dry Eyes in the morning. All I googled is Bloated all the time and got Yasmin.

I'm in between pills and seriously think I need to just put up the the bad bleeding and get off the Yasmin. It is like quitting coffee, the headache is because of stopping the pill. I took one pill today even tho I have my period right now. My head is clearing up and I am feeling better.

I Don't think it is just Yasmin I REALLY BELIEVE WE ALL HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS WHEN THE HORMONES ARE IMBALANCED.

I Loved Yasmin for giving me back a life. But I'm so BLOATED right now I've got to try going off.

I do not take any other drug. I did a Candida cleanse but it didn't elevate the Bloating.

I will keep you all posted........

This is another update. I had the Mirena removed about 3 weeks ago and my hip joint pain has calmed down A LOT since then! My headaches are gone, my breasts don't feel like they're going to explode, and I am gaining some of my energy back. My hip pain is still there somewhat, but I am hoping in time it will disappear - in the meantime, Motrin helps immensely whereas it didn't touch it when I had the Mirena in. I will be having my regular doctor check out the hip just to be sure nothing else is going on, but I am CONVINCED that this device caused all of the above. I was really surprised that my gyno didn't fight me at all when I told her I wanted it removed. I told her that I felt the benefits no longer outweighed the side effects, and she told me if I felt that way it was best to get it removed. The removal was nothing compared to the insertion - she was done before I even realized she had started to remove it! I haven't had any cramping or bleeding since it was removed beyond the first day or two. I guess that makes sense since the Mirena was supposedly keeping the lining from building up in the first place - guess there's nothing to shed yet. All in all, I am glad I got it taken out, and I am here to tell anyone with similar symptoms to follow your gut and push for what you want - it's your body, not your doctor's!

I was given 500 mg of Levaquin a day for 10 days for pneumonia, which I later found out I didn't have. Anyway, before he ten days were up, I started couldn't lift my arms above my head, then my joints started to pop and crack and all my joints ache me, ore severe pain in my knee that hasn't gotten better. It has been over a month and I am still in pain and don't know how to get relief. I tried Motrin, but this doesn't help. I also tried Tylenol and this doesn't help either. I tried going to the chiropractor and it helped a little, but the pain came back after the icing wore off. I don't know which way to turn with all this pain. It feels like my bones are falling apart.
If anyone has any remedies that work to get rid of this toxic poison in my body, please let me know. Thank you, Antoinette

I know this is long, but I could really use your help, so I would appreciate you taking the time to read through to the end. (thanks :-) )

First, I want to thank everyone posting. I needed to read this stuff because I'm absolutely terrified of what's happening to me. I'm on the second week of my very first pack of Loestrin- my very first birth control pill EVER. I didn't want to start, but my OBGYN encouraged me to, once I told her I had 8 day long episodes of clots, cramping, vomiting and just sheer misery once a month. She said this would help if I'm sure to take it as recommended.

So I took the first one the Sunday after my period started, at 8:45am and have taken it religiously since. I have not changed my diet or routine. I exercise and eat fairly well. And there are no particularly stressful factors in my life. I am also quitting smoking- just down to 2-3 a day instead of 10 or 15.

Now that I've been doing this for 2 weeks, I think I would rather suffer what I had before. At least it was predictable! I have been bleeding for 5 days now. And this is NOT my time to be on my period. I'm sad and tired. I have back pain and on-and-off cramps. I have nearly no sex-drive. My boyfriend and I had sex at least 4 times a week and I masturbated on the nights we didn't. And although he is INCREDIBLY supportive, I can tell he feels lost and helpless around me. I don't want him to touch me, hold me, or even breathe on me! Normally, we are very affectionate and I am active and fun. Now, I just want to be left alone. I feel fat, unwanted, dirty, depressed...the list goes on.

I feel as though there is something seriously wrong with my body, because I shouldn't look or the feel the way I do or bleed like I am. I called the doctor and she said that I should give it till the end of the month. But 1 month is a long time to live with a depressed quality of life. 1 month is a long time to cry yourself to sleep with alcohol and Motrin.

I feel angry that the best the medical society can do is give us something that is trial and error, fully aware that it may hurt us, though temporarily, and make the lives of the people around us miserable. I am concerned the even my doc is in the pocket of some pharmaceutical company to give me a drug that she said would help and has only hurt.

Or maybe I'm just paranoid...

Anyone have any encouraging reasons why I should continue this? My sister, who was on Ortho for a while and DIDN'T like it, suggests that I stick out a little longer and I trust her opinion, but would like more. I'm open to suggestions or comments. (Especially if you know a way to stop my period so I spend less days of the month on it than I am on...)
Thanks :-)

About 4 months ago I took 7 days worth of Levaquin after my sinus surgery. It was a preventative measure, I never had an infection. A few days into the prescription I started having tendon pain in my knees & ankles. I couldn't sleep, I was having nightmares, I was emotional, anxious and drained. My doctor told me to stop taking the Levaquin immediately. 4 months later and I am still suffering from entire body tendonapathy, neuropathic pain, joint pain, skin sensitivity, severe migraines, temperature sensitivity, twitching (muscles convulsing), basically my entire body hurts. Some days are a little better than others but not by much.

I have been to rhuemetologists, neurologists, pm & r doctors, physical therapists, acupunture, orthopedic surgeons, & allergists (in Chico Ca, & @ UC Davis in Sacramento Ca). NONE OF THE DOCTORS KNEW WHAT TO DO. My general physician actually told me to "go home and wait it out" because there was "no hope of finding help" (I'm not kidding). I've had tons of blood tests with fairly normal results. Thankfully I have a wonderful neurologist who has taken some interest in my situation. All of the other doctors told me that my case was very rare & that they had heard of such side effects but had never seen any patients with them! After some research on the internet I seriously doubt that my condition is as "rare" as they claim.

I am only 28 years old, I can't walk, I can't work, and my life has been turned upside down. I was very healthy before, I don't have a family history of health problems, nothing like that...it was the Levaquin.

Here is what I am currently taking: Lyrica for neuropathic pain, twitching, not being able to sleep etc., and oral morphine for the severe pain, Milk Thistle to promote glutathione (important because it helps your liver detox), Magnesium Malate (also helps detox), a multivitamin, vitamin c, and fish oil pills. I also attend acupuncture 2x per week (honestly feel some relief from it). Also, I heard that glutathione infusions are helpful but I haven't tried them yet. At this point I will try anything.

IF YOU HAVE HEARD OF ANYTHING OR ANYONE WHO CAN HELP WITH THESE DEVASTATING SIDE EFFECTS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

~J.

I was injected with Lupron and the shot last for three months. I had the shot in order to stop my periods to increase my blood count for surgery to remove fibroids. The first two weeks, I spent having a very light cycle. I'm 2 1/2 months in and haven't had one since. I have, however, had menstrual cycles and never had them when I had my cycles before Lupron. I have a high tolerance for pain, but I was constantly popping Motrin to deal with the cramps. I experience pressure in my head during the second month, but it has gone away. My sex drive sky rocketed since I've been on the shot, but I have some vaginal dryness. My energy has also decreased since being on the shot and I don't work out like I use to. The three months is almost up so hopefully I can get back to normal once it's over.

I've had severe joint pain in my thumb, hands, wrists, and arm all the way up to my shoulder. One side is worst than the other. My muscles hurt! I stopped Advair two days ago and I hope this pain ceases soon. The only thing that helps is Motrin 800 mg and Zostrix cream. I will NEVER take Advair again! I am a 55 year old woman and the pain makes me feel like I'm 80!

54 year old Male, Retired Marine, Very physically active, with Type II Diabetes; 5mg. Thanks for this Website. Started Lisinopril 3/25/09. Took it for 25 days, found this website and stopped taking it immediately. I had severe JOINT PAIN. It started in my hands, then feet, knees were next, then moved into my shoulders. The pain was the worst I've ever felt. Approximately 60 days after stopping the drug I went to see the Dr. after the Pharmacist told me Lisinopril should have been out of my system after 2 weeks. The Dr gave me Steroids (Prednisol) which completely eliminated ALL pain in 2 days . I was tested for Polymyalgia Rheumatica, however the my Sed Rate was normal. The blood tests did reveal that my RHEUMATIOD FACTOR is elevated (34.3 where the normal range is 0.0-20.1 IU/ML). Was told that if the pain returned, then I would be referred to a Rheumatologist. 3 Days after finishing the dosage pack of Prednisol, the pain/swelling in my hands and shoulder has returned. Going back to see the Dr today to discuss next steps.

Although the doctors don't agree, I believe Lisinopril caused this pain, and although out of my system now, triggered something that isn't going away.

The rest of this describes the roving pains I experienced.

Hand pain included swollen fingers, inability to make a fist or type on a keyboard. After light yard work on Sat., shooting burning pain up the inside of both arms. Trying to close your hands into a fist, you can feel the tendons up your arm burn with pain. Motrin did not alleviate the pain. Hot water did not help.

Pain in my knees each morning. The pain worsened over night and frequently causes you to wake up. The pain was like your knees were being squeezed in a vice. No position is comfortable. Motrin sometimes helped, but after awoken, getting back to sleep was impossible.

Feet swollen. Couldn't wear any shoes for extended periods. Loosening the laces helps, but still caused pressure which becomes unbearable and the shoes have to come off.

Shoulders; This is the strangest one. First pain was in the left shoulder, like I had impacted a brick wall at a full run (actually no trauma occurred). The pain felt like someone had stabbed it in my shoulder in the socket. At it's worst, no position is comfortable. Had to put my arm in a sling. 5 Days later, the same type pain moved to the right shoulder.

I have been on Simvastatin for about 4 months now. For the past 2 months, I have been having unexplained muscle/joint pain and tightness in my hips and thighs. I couldn't figure out what I'd done but thought it was just one of those things (slept wrong, stepped wrong, etc.). I've been working with a foam roller to get the knots out, even getting up in the middle of the night to work on the roller because it hurt so much. That helped some. Took Motrin but that didn't work at all! Added Omega 3 fish oil and glucosamine and that did help a little. Have been limping for 2 months now and it finally occurred to me, "I wonder if it's the Simvastatin?" I already knew I was sensitive to chemicals like sodium lauryl sulfate, so everything I see written here makes sense to me. I emailed my MD today and she said to stay off it for 3 weeks and see if I see any improvement, plus get blood work. I sure hope I don't have any muscle damage. Thank all of you for posting your experiences

hello everyone. i have had the mirena in for 3 years since the birth of my first child. I am 24 years old, and i am in the worst pain of my life. you see i have this pain, that i can only equate to stabbing pain that either occurs on my right or left lower abdomen. it starts out very dull and then like as if to warn me of the potential stress, comes back harder and harder. it can happen anytime, laying down in the middle of the night, standing up, driving in the car, anywhere any time. it will also come back more than once in a day, but then on the other hand sometimes i wont have it for a week at a time. the last time this happened, i was at work. i am a cna and its not a pleasant idea to be taking care of someone and all of a sudden you experience this pain. when the pain is fully involved, my whole leg on the affected side goes numb. i have tried to use Motrin, naproxen, heating pads, but nothing helps the pain. after seeing everyone else posts in this forum, i am going in this Thursday to get it out. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. i feel it has hurt me more than i even know. this is a very very scary feeling. i do also experience the bitchiness, and the constant bloating that everyone else does but i CANT DEAL with this pain anymore running my life. PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!

I have been taking lisinopril for about one month. Shortly after taking this drug I began to experience muscle aches and pain. Just figured because I do a lot of yard work this was the problem. I have been "eating" Goody powders and Vicodin and Motrin.. still no real relief for the muscle pain. I cannot sleep at night..this is why I am up now. The pain is so intense that I cannot sleep.Right now I Have no pain..but, just as sure as I lay down the pain will come. Thought about going to the ER but I decided to do research first.I take the pill at night because I could not function too well in the day. Felt sleepy, mood altered..just could not do it. I am not taking it anymore beginning tomorrow. The trash is the best place for this drug.I've noticed tonight tingling in my legs and foot as well as aches in my fingers. I'm done with this drug. I know what's best for me. So glad that I found this site. Kinda thought that I was nuts too.

I am allergic to Prednisone. My primary Dr. does not believe me nor does most of the medical profession. The arrogance and assumptions that Dr.'s make has me at my wits end as I am allergic to many things. The 2 main things are any form of Ibuprofen and Prednisone.
I had an LAVH and oophorectomy performed last Tuesday.
To make a long story short, after surgery the attending Dr. ordered Motrin. I went into anaphylactic shock and was aware that I was in serious trouble but didn't know why. I thought I had developed a new allergy as all my known allergies were clearly listed on my chart. As they were moving me to ICU he stated he was going to give me Prednisone and my family told him no, you cannot give her that, she is allergic to it. Once inside ICU I became aware that I was in a fight for my life as they were going to keep experimenting on me like a guinea pig until they killed me. The Dr. came to me and said he was going to give me Prednisone and I fought back. I told him l would NOT take the Prednisone. I told him I did not want him or anyone else there to administer one more thing to me. I would not take anything except Benadryl and I demanded to be discharged. (IV/Oxygen/Catheter/everything still hooked up to me) Luckily, my surgeon showed back up at that point and took charge of the situation, immediately administered the Benadryl I had been asking for and I did indeed leave the hospital later that night with her blessing.
I believe in my heart that had they given me the Prednisone there is a good probability it would have turned tragic.
You have to fight for yourself because sometimes the Dr.'s think they know more than you do about your own body.

I got Mirena 8 weeks after my daughter was born, March 3rd. The only thing that hurt about the insertion was when the doctor put the clamp on my cervix. Everything else I didn't feel a thing. I also took some Motrin before I went because I was super nervous. Afterward, I had cramps that felt like mild contractions. Nothing too bad. The only thing that bothers me about Mirena, is I've been spotting ever since I got it. It gets heavier when I work my abs. As far as losing weight or gaining it, I'm breastfeeding and it's always been a struggle with me to lose weight until I wean.

Prescribed Avelox 400 mg for 10 days, to combat sinusitis and lung congestion bordering on pneumonia. Dr. suggested taking it with Mucinex to increase impact on sinuses. Took first pill Monday, 4/13 and didn't have any unexpected side effects. Took 2nd pill Tuesday morning along with Mucinex, pretty much on an empty stomach, with too little liquid. I was having slight headaches, jitters, mild inability to focus, and some buzzing in my ears. After a few hours, I thought it would be safe to take an Aleve to work on the headache. BAD MOVE on my part. Within 10 - 15 minutes, I was violently ill, vomiting everything from an essentially empty stomach. I called my Dr. but he didn't return my call for a few hours. When we talked, I related the episode, and he advised that we should change medications. As we talked, I thought that maybe I had not been careful enough. Maybe there was a magnifier effect from the Avelox, the empty stomach, too little water, the Mucinex, and then adding the Aleve to the mixture. Bottom line, we decided that I'd take it again today, and be careful to avoid the combination issue. So far, it seems to be working. I'm still experiencing the buzzing ears, slight agitation/nervousness, and slight headache, but nothing scary.

There is one thing, though, that also concerns me. I have a recurring inflammation of my right Achilles heel tendon, and this illness or drug treatment brought it on big-time. My right Achilles is extremely painful and is throbbing like crazy. I normally take a Motrin (anti-inflammatory) and it goes away, but I'm not taking a chance with that until I stop the Avelox. My Patient Prescription Information makes a big deal about possible Tendon damage for those over 60, and I'm just about there.

Interesting counter-effect is that instead of not being able to sleep, I slept much better even after the first pill.

I am new to Topamax. Just started for severe/horrific migraine pain - I have been getting migraines that lasted 8 days long without relief for the past few years, popping imitrex like m & m's. Mine seem to be related to a drop in barometric pressure as well as to being perimenopausal. They were ruining my life. I am currently on the 25 mg in the am dose and 50 mg pm dose schedule to titrate up to 50 mg twice daily. So far I have had only 2 migraines in the past 30 days instead of 8-16!!! I am a much happier person- I can't even describe it. People at work even tell me I LOOK different! I do however, have some intermittent tingling/numbness in my fingers mostly, passes quickly, little back pain, and some little headaches that come and go. I can so deal with these. I have only had to take Tylenol or Motrin on three occasions in the past month. I used to take two imitrex and still had take 400mg of Motrin and 1000 mg of Tylenol just to numb my migraines. Can I tell you I used to be somewhat non-functional and still go to work everyday- I am a nurse!
So far Topamax has given me my life back because I seriously considered driving into a tree one day on my way to work before starting it. Wish me luck.

I've had the MIRENA in for 6 weeks today. Immediately after I stood up from the table at the doctor's office once it was inserted ((very PAINFUL insertion)), i almost fainted. I felt very weak and began throwing up. After leaving the clinic, I had to pull over on the side the road quite a few times before I made it home because I was so light headed and weak I thought I was going to wreck. I began thinking right then and there that maybe this wasn't for me. Maybe my body was already telling me that it didn't want this thing in there. How could this birth control be doing this to me I thought?? Then the cramps started. They felt like contractions at certain points...very painful and there was no relief. I tried motrin, Tylenol, & vicodin...they lasted for 2 days then I seemed to be fine for a little while. The headaches came in the first week of getting it, but I didn't put it together. I thought I was just stressed out. About 3 weeks ago, my boobs began to be really sore and a lot bigger then they were before, I'm extremely tired all the time yet can't seem to fall asleep at night when I'm actually trying, I seem to be very forgetful of small things, extremely up & down moody, no patience at all with anyone..especially with my daughter, careless, loss interest in almost everything, very depressed, crying all the time, bloated, blurred vision, also my left arm goes numb quite a bit...AND THESE HEADACHES are so horrible. I'm practically living on BC powder because it seems to be the only medicine to get rid of it for awhile at least. The thing I liked about this birth control is there was supposedly no weight gain...well I've gain 10 lbs in 6 weeks and I've been the same weight since after I had my daughter who is 4 now. I thank GOD that I know it's the MIRENA doing all these things to me so I can just get it out and be normal again. I did not have one of these symptoms before this thing was inserted, and I'm very proud to say that it will be removed tomorrow. I feel so bad for all of you that had this thing in for a year, or two, or even three and didn't know what was causing all your symptoms and emotional distress. I also thank GOD for all of you and for finding this website because the person I've become in the last 6 weeks definitely isn't me, and is not someone I would like to continue being since it only seems to be getting worse instead of better. Not only am I suffering from this emotionally & physically, but also everyone around me because I've become the biggest CRAB and don't care about anything anymore. I urge women to think this through before they get this MIRENA implanted. It's not for everyone, and as many women have fantastic results with it, there are probably that many that are battling all the same symptoms I am & are miserable. Had I known some of these things were even a possibility with this birth control, I would've never put this in my body. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Everyone is different, but you know yourself. Don't let the doctor try to sugar coat things for you. Do the research before you decide to go with MIRENA. I would rather accidentally get pregnant than have to go through all this :( GOOD LUCK everyone

My 12 yr. old daughter had her first gardasil shot last summer and her 3rd in January. She has been complaining of headaches, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, confusion, as she put it 'she felt like an alien'. I just figured it was preteen/body change/that time of the month stuff and thought it would pass. She only complained of headaches a few times after the first shot, didn't even think of them being from the shot but then more after the 2nd shot, still didn't make a connection, and now it's an every day thing. This morning again the headache/nausea/stomach pain, crying from the pain and Tylenol isn't helping. I got her to go to school but after 2 hours had to go pick her up. She said it was worse. We will be back at the doctors for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. With the possibility of this being from the gardasil, I wish I had never gotten the shots. The not knowing, is this from the gardasil? will it pass? get worse? and what she is going through. No it's not worth it

My first post was yesterday. Today I called my doctor and got an appt for 2:15. I went to work for a 1/2 day...Cried most of the time in my office. Barely got through the 1/2 day. Cried most of the way to the Dr.'s. She finally saw me at about 4:00ish. I was crying hysterically... I think I scared her. Her first question was...are you suicidal...I said NO! But what was going on was UNCONTROLLABLE and NOT ME!!!! She didn't think it could be the Mirena but I insisted it had to be! She agreed to take The Beast Mirena out! Thank you God! It hurt a little bit but was over quickly. She gave me an anti-anxiety prescription because it will take awhile for my body to even back out she said. I was so relieved! I had two crying episodes on the way to the pharmacy. I have not taken the meds as I am alone with my three children and I don't want to chance any more problems without another adult with me. It's is about 2 hours after the removal....and guess what ladies....I am already feeling an improvement. Knock on wood...We'll see what the rest of the night brings. I do have some cramping and area pain. Gonna go pop a Motrin! I am so happy...you'll never know! Too bad for Valentine's Day though! I was hoping this year would be a nice one since I haven't had one since my Husband passed away in 1997...OH WELL...
