Began taking doxy 6 days ago for infected cut on my face. It worked great on the infection. However, the side effects are killing me. The first 3 days I had sore areas in my mouth, tongue, and one side of my throat, as well as congestion and cold-like symptoms. These are all listed as side effects. Also listed are stomach upset, diarrhea, and muscle aches, which I've had as well. It seems to make my GERD a little worse, but I'm careful not to lie down for an hour after taking it.

While the mouth & throat pain has cleared, the muscle aches are nearly unbearable. About 2 hours after taking the doxy I am almost floored with fatigue. At the same time diarrhea starts and menstrual spotting starts as well. On top of all that I'm finding myself more anxious, depressed, and physically exhausted. It's overwhelming.

My husband took doxy a month ago for epididymitis. He had serious mood issues, upset stomach, and sensitivity to heat as well as sun. He took his pills with food (he wasn't told not to) so his side effects were less severe, but I suspect it's because he wasn't absorbing as much of the medication.

WOW! I can't believe what I'm hearing. I have been on Advair for almost a year. 500/50 dose. I have severe asthma and it was my only hope of getting off oral steroids. YEAH it worked! I even lost 60lbs do to being off steroids. But about 5 months ago I woke up with horrible pain in my muscles. They haven't let up. It has been hard to go about my daily life. I can't walk sometimes and it feels like I have arthritis. I have been to several docs and no one ever mentioned Advair as a possible reason. I now have to wonder after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. That is how bad my pain is. I also have repeated sinus pain. I had sinus surgery but the pain is still awful. I have ear pain, throat pain, mouth/tongue pain. My anxiety has been so bad over all of this. I will talk with my asthma doctor about this.

You should not drive while taking this Medication, I ran my car off the roaad twice in one day due to a lack of coordination. Had to purchase a new tire. If you have heart problems I don't recommend that you take this medication, the side effect are very close to having a heart attack. I just returned from the emergency room due to white bumps on the roof of my mouth & tongue & difficulty breathing. The doctors pescrived Nystatin oral supension. for the white bumps. also I had to take an iupb due to a loss of electrolites. Weight loss of 10lbs within 10 days.

Noticed tartive diskonesia to begin with. Involuntary tongue, arm and leg movement. Dry mouth, confusion, difficulty talking, etc. I was on this for about 6 months. I have been off of it for a week and four days and still have a dry mouth, burning sensation in my mouth, tongue movement, sores on my tongue and a real "sour" taste in my mouth. Has anyone else experienced this and how long does it last after stopping the meds.

I'm really glad I found this board. It reassures me I'm not nuts. I'm a 53 yr old woman. I'm overweight and underactive. I'm on 10 mg Lipitor and just started 2 days ago. I also take Toprol to reduce my blood pressure which is now at 120/80. I started the Toprol last week. The Toprol puts me in a daze during the day. I take the Lipitor at night. This morning I woke up groggy. I felt light-headed and spacey. Funny taste in mouth. Tongue kind of burns. Some pressure in ears. My feet were freezing and the left foot tingly. It took hours for my feet to warm up and feel normal. Sometimes my scalp feels tingly too. I went to my doctor because I was feeling light-headed and had other symptoms. So I'm going through a series of tests: stress test, brain MRI etc. Most of my labs came back great. Here's my plan: if there are no other problems with my heart or brain I plan to move my diet toward vegetarianism. I've already started doing that. I also found a gym that I hope to join. After 6 months of a good diet and exercise I'll ask my Dr. if I can come off the Lipitor for a certain number of months. We can do a cholesterol test and see where I'm at. Staying on any statin long term doesn't sound safe at all. Thanks!

Dry Mouth, causing havoc with my teeth. Cavities all over, never had them before, VERY sore mouth, tongue almost raw.
Taking it to stop Gustatory Sweating it worked.....have to stop taking or I will lose all my teeth. Its the only thing that has worked, my sweating was from head to foot, now my last hope is gone. Rose-marie (Will I get an answer to this note)
