These hormones are responsible for tissue, skin, and muscle regeneration. I would not be suprised if thats what caused your muscle fatigue. Recently, I have tried to start to work out again and I have found that I lost a lot of muscle strength through out this whole episode. I had a lot of jaw aching/pain on and off the yasmin. You know the muscles around your jaw, mine would often be aching. I thought it was stress from the whole episode, but at the time I remember thinking it was strange because it didnt feel like I was clenching my jaw. It just ached. It even did it some this evening. My skin still feels sensitive and I have been getting big pimple like bumps around my hairline and on my neck, I was getting them a lot in my scalp, now it seems to have moved down. They arent really like pimples because they dont form a white head and pop like pimples, they seem to resolve quicker and go away without breaking the skin, thank god. I think it is the oil glands coming back? I dont know. Anyway are you still experiencing side effects besides the muscle aches/fatigue? I am still hopeful to make sense out of this whole nightmare. Trying to get the Dr.s to help is hopeless at times. The key is finding a good one I think. Let me know what you think of the website. I found it informative.
I dont know if they have labs that can test for saliva in Germany. The company is based in Oregon and then they contract out the testing to a facility closest to you. I will try to find out if this is done overseas as well if you are interested. look forward to hearing from you!
Take care,

I have been on Niaspan for about five days. After taking a dose last night, my body swelled and I experienced extremely harsh tingling under the skin that started in the neck and facial area then moved down the body. My heart rate was 100 b.p.m. and pounding. I experienced reduced hearing, vision and concentration. Quite scary.

After taking Levaquin for 4 days last May, woke up with severe pain and tightness in both knees. Didn't connect with the drug so I continued taking it for the entire course, 12 days. The severe pain moved down into my lower legs and remained for weeks. I finally connected the pain with the drug but my Dr. blew it off and said I had suffered an injury.
In July I could barely walk and both legs and both knees were heavily affected. Looking for answers, I found this website. Showed some of the emails to my Dr. and he finally ordered blood enzyme tests, which, to his surprise, indicated I have suffered muscle damage. NOW he believes me. This after 13 weeks of pain, and more to go, if the testimony of others is any indication. All this for a sinus infection.

I started taking Lipitor at the advice of my physcician even though I had just lowered my high cholesterol to normal levels by diet alone. Go figure. He said that new studies show that people with diebetis should take it because they have an increased chance of having a heart attack. I have diabetis but is controled by diet. So I reluctantly started taking it. I took 10 mg. At first, within a week I developed a fever I could not explain. Although my doctor said that Lipitor doesn't cause fevers, the warning on the package of the prescription said to stop taking it and consult your doctor if you develop a fever after taking. Mine was getting up to 102 degrees for about 4 or five days. I quit taking Lipitor and my fevers stopped. He accused me of "non-compliance" and told me to start taking them at bedtime instead of daytime. I thought I'd try again. No fevers but, I developed a severe neck pain on the left side that felt like a tight band or chord from under my chin, where the glands are, and it progressively over a few days moved down to my underarm. It would start every morning as soon as I awoke. It felt like any small movement really strained my muscles on that side of my neck. Then around the same time, I developed a pain in my knee. I thought I was just uncomfortable from our van and not having enough room, but I never had the pain before taking Lipitor. I also at the time, developed an excruciating and dibilitating pain in my right arm. It got so severe that I could not even lift a piece of paper without it hurting. I'd fell a sensation of burning as well as muscle weakness and pain whenever I moved it just slightly. I didn't even imagine it was all from Lipitor. My salvation was that I had forgotten to take it for about 3 nights in a row and to my surprise, I stopped experiencing the pain I was having with my neck, my knee and my arm! Then I decided to see if I could find out if there were any dangers to taking Lipitor before I started taking it again, and I found this site and read all the testimonials. I am convinced now that Lipitor was causing my fevers, my pain and is a very dangerous drug. I WILL NOT take it ever again. Thanks to this site, we are all warned. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou all for sharing your stories. And thanks to the creators of this site for giving so many people the answers that will litterally save lives and change us all for the better.

I took 10mg lipitor for 9 months and started having horrible arm pain that would not go away. Then the pain became mixed with weakness and I could not even lift a grocery bag. I am 53 and of good weight and I thought, good health - other than the elevated cholesterol level. My whole family has the elevated levels and there was an uncle who died at 43 of a massive heart attack. So, gave it a try. I got to where I thought I had ALS for sure. The leg twitching started in my calf and moved down to my feet and kept up even now. I have been off lipitor for 8 months. My strength came back in about 3 weeks and has progressively been better. The twitches are still here but am now taking 3 doses of CQ10 3x/day with Bcomplex and folic acid. All is helping and I am hoping the twitches stop. I will not ever take this again.
