After reading so much about Armour, earlier this year I decided that I would like to try it. I was actually feeling very good on Synthroid but wondered if I could feel even better. I was on Armour for a month and got very ill. Dizzy, legs swelling, hard time walking and standing. I went back to the Synthroid and it has taken me about six months to recover. I had a thyroidectomy about 3 years ago and never gained any weight until I was on the Armour, about 15lbs. My Endo says everyone is different with the meds. I really wanted the Armour to work out for me and will be hesitant to try anything else now because of my terrible experience.

I had the mirena inserted 6 weeks after I delivered my second daughter. I love it. I haven't really had any problems with it at all. I mean yeah i have had headaches and the fluttery belly and hair loss nausea all of that. But people need to understand, there are side effects to every drug. I am also a cosmetologist and most women tend to have excessive hair loss after giving birth its your hormones. when you have extra hormones pumping through your body you are going to have symptoms likes these. good luck to you all.

I used the nuvaring for 2 months stopped and started again three months ago. The first time I used it I had no side effects this time is TOTALLY DIFFERENT! I thought it would be convenient since u only have to worry about it every three weeks unlike remembering to take the pill everyday at the same time, but all the side effects make it not so worthwhile. I have
nausea, headaches, dizzy spells, mood swings (I literally can cry at the drop of a dime), stomach cramps on and off my cycle (I can't get out of bed sometimes), and recently i've had diarrhea but i'm not sure if its caused by the nv. I'm not recommending it to ANYONE. I think i'm about fed up anyone have any suggestions for a better BC?

Has anyone had side effects pop up after 3 years? Yes, you heard me. Three years. Hair falling out. Joint pain. "Foggy headedness." Chest discomfort. Gotta be that. Please share.

I am a 38 year old female on Lisinopril for approx. 2 months on and off. I am in excellent physical shape and ideal weight with a family history of hbp. I immediately noticed negative side effects from this drug. Extreme fatigue and confusion the first day I took this pill. The first month it was in combination with water pill and that was a disaster. I could not stop craving salt. I stopped taking this on my own and went back to the Dr. She then prescribed the Lisinopril w/o the water pill and the salt cravings were not as severe but I was constantly hungry! Yesterday I decided to not take the pill and see how I felt and of course I was NOT tired or having any unusual hunger issues. There was an immediate difference! I also have the dry cough which until now I thought was something I had p/u from one of my children and could not shake. This drug is ridiculous. I have taken meds for bp on and off through 2 pregnancies over a 10 yr. period and the pills are worse than being pregnant as far as exhaustion and cravings!!!! This is very scary and I know hbp is deadly, but there are other meds which do not come with all the negative side effects. I will keep experimenting until I find one that works for me. This pill is headed for the trash!!

I had the Mirena since November of 2007 til yesterday, I started having side effects about six months after I stated gaining weight, acne, cramps, anxiety, facial hair and moodiness I had never put the two together until I came upon this website. The only thing it helped was my migraines and my heavy bleeding I probably had a period 3 times 1 yr 7 months which was great. But I hate the other side effects. I have worked at a clinic before and know that what the doctor does to remove it is to just pull on the strings. I have also read on these comments how some have taken out themselves or by their spouse/partner so I decided to try it yesterday. It was easier than I imagined I won't lie and say I did not feel a thing but it was worst when the doctor put it in then to take it out. If felt like a light cramp and that was it I just reached in and with two fingers pulled it out with a light tug. Now lets wait and see happens....

This is my second time writing in. I wrote about symptoms in Feb. and now have MORE to add. I have had Mirena in for a year and a half and things are starting to add up! I still get a period though it is a little lighter than before. I am still spotting (even after all this time and there is no knowing when this will happen), heart burn, hair loss, heart palpitations (even have gone in to ER and had test run with no conclusion except I need more sleep and less stress - ha - been a mom for 9 years and haven't slept forever, why would this happen only now?) dizziness, back pain, constipation, bloating (my stomach will not go back to pre pregnancy size), gas, fatigue. My doctor says no way related! More needs to be done to make women aware of these side effects! Especially when they tell you before that there are no side effects!!!

Yes I too have been noticing recent disabilities regarding brain function. Ive only been on lamictal for 5 mths and there has been remarkable improvement for its intentional purpose but I feel like such a dumbass.
I am a 4.0 student who is obsessed with A's and have been on the deans list for 3 yrs. However, recently I cant spell, take notes without immediately forgetting what my professor said, loose my point, or like just now, I completely forgot what I was trying to say. I have trouble speaking and finding the right words and its extremely difficult to think through anything because I loose what it is I was previously thinking! GGGRrrr.... Does that make any sense?
I am however seriously relieved to find I am not the only one having these issues and that its not mental regression or lack of intelligence.
Also, since being on Lamictal I have never experienced any skin problems, but 3 days ago I started tanning (which I know is already horrible for you) and today I have red blotches between my chest and on my back. These are places I normally burn a little bit when I start tanning again, but now there are welps and they burn and itch like crazy. Does anyone know if UV exposure causes this in Lamictal patients? Could it also possibly be a reaction to the tanning lotion?
Thanks

During my 6 months on Warfarin (Coumidin) I experienced tremendous lethargy and short term memory loss. No issues with other commonly reported symptoms of hair loss, heavy legs,…
I am a 49 year old male. In January 2008 I was diagnosed with DVT's in my right lung. Interestingly I experienced 100% of the pain on my left side though the DVT’s were on the right. The onset of symptoms was a pain in my chest like I pulled a muscle lifting something. The pain progressed from "notable" to progressively uncomfortable, where I was restless in bed to the point of not sleeping. On the 3rd day after fitful sleeping and progressively more painful breathing, I made a doctor's appointment for that afternoon. By the time I got to the Dr. I was sure I had made the right decision (I am male and avoid these things).
My primary care did an EKG to rule out a heart attack which the symptoms were identical to; sharp pain in chest toward left shoulder and arm, trouble breathing. I was sent for an X-ray and was very uncomfortable laying still on the Xray bed as the pain as I inhaled had gotten sharper. I went home and resumed office work but soon was in extreme pain with each breath. So much pain that I could not lay or sit, but collapsed to my knees where I stayed for 20 minutes until I could move again. I called the doctor's office and was advised to go directly to the ER. Duh. The ER again ran an EKG and ruled out cardiac issues.
Three ER Attendings pondered my condition for an hour or so and then began asking as series of questions and at the 3rd question – had I flown any long flights recently? Yes, several transatlantic – at which I saw their glances and was whisked off to a CAT scan which confirmed DVT’s. I was put on morphine and some IV’s and admitted for 5 days. I started Lovenox shots and by the 4th day was feeling better.
Blood tests did not revel any genetic disposition (factor V) for clots and no family history so it was recorded as “Coach Class Syndrome”. I was put on Warfarin for (5mg/day) for 6 months. I was able to keep relatively good INR’s. I came off Warfarin (12 August 2008). I will have to take Lovenox shots before long flights. I am happy to come off the Warfarin as I experienced tremendous lethargy and short term memory loss. No issues and I have been off coumadim for 6 months now. Glad to have that behind me… hopefully.

I've had my mirena in for 4 years now..and can relate to some of the symptoms mentioned. It never occurred to me before that mirena may be the cause. I'm extremely exhausted all the time. I'm a mother of 3 and I maintain a very healthy lifestyle. I go to the gym at least 4 times a week and eat all the right foods. Instead of my workout leaving me refreshed(as should) it nearly takes everything out of me. The rest of the day is a total struggle. Its like ive used up all the energy available to me. I turned 33 less than 2 months ago. I taught of aerobics prior to the birth of my 4 year old son. I had my mirena inserted at my 6 wk checkup. I lost my motivation to continue my workout habits..yet still maintained an active lifestyle without the intensity until 6 months ago. I was 112 lbs @ 5'1 when I got pregnant with my son. I was 144lbs when I delivered. I was down to 120 at my 6 week checkup...and still haven't budge from there! (after the mirena). I'm bloated all the time. As others have said...looking like they're 3 months pregnant...thats me! I've also have swelling in my hands and feet randomly. (mostly my hands) My periods are light..spotting mostly and come approx every 3 weeks. My breast become extremely tender a week prior to. Sleeping is not a problem here...I'm practically out before my head hits the pillow. I often have trouble focusing and feel lightheaded. I also hope to have another child next year some time being that I am remarried and my husband doesn't have any children of his own. After reading some of these stories I'm wondering if that will be possible. In the past...my husband had often complained of feeling scaping during intercourse...yet hasn't felt it in quite some time. I wonder if that's good or bad? I hope I don't have to get mine surgically removed! I'm scared now! If anyone can relate to me...please comment.

YAZ BELLY!! anyone else got it? I have been on this pill for 9 months now & about to switch back to ortho novum product. Within the first mth of Yaz I developed a very round (almost menopausal or pregnant shape) lower belly. It has increased over the past 8 months to a ridiculous size that no pants fit but go figure....no weight gain for 7 months. How does ones shape change that much with no weight gain?? I actually am diligent on diet & workout 3 - 6 days a week. Have looked the same for 2 years til Yaz. Now I have to size up due to the belly & rollover. Also past 3 months I started to experience ovary pain that has become significantly worse. Ob/gyn brushed off my issues at first & passed me on to GI. I have had every stomach test & all good! Remarkable they say! So back to GI to switch this week. The only plus of this pill has been a much improved complexion & actually unlike the rest of you...increased sex drive. All I want to know is I am the only one with Yaz shape belly??

Hi, I am so relieved that I decided to finish with Yasmin after just 4 months. ...ESPECIALLY, after reading all the above severe health warnings and symptoms many have experienced. I am 38 with 2 small children and after over 10 yrs of not being on the pill I decided to take it again for PMT reasons and lighter periods. I too have noticed the migraine type headaches are far more frequent but more so I have noticed a worrying tightness in what seems the arteries in my neck which I have been paranoid could be the beginning of clots. Last week I also had a heaviness in my right side mainly my arm and went numb on right side of my face and lips whilst out shopping last week. I was scared to death as thought I was having a mild stroke at the time. This was the end for me. That day I never took another pill from that Yasmin pack. It is not worth it. I also felt quite anxious, wound - up, depressed and neurotic during the last 4 months on Yasmin. I am now back to ovulation cramps and heavier periods again but who cares at least I know this isn't life threatening which I believe Yasmin has the potential to be with regards to thrombosis and other severs health risks etc to some users.

My daughter had her gardasil injections in 2007 at age 16. Until then she'd had 3 years of normal regular periods. Since then her period has all but stopped, just appearing every 4 or 5 months for a day. We are now worried if this will effect her fertility.
Since the injection she has also developed vairly severe acne.
She has also had 2 episodes of passing out and seeming to have a seizure after just 2 alcoholic drinks. The doctor says none of this has anything to do with the vaccine, however I am sure that the sudden change in her periods came directly after her first shot. Qld. Australia

Does anyone taking Loestrin 24 Fe have lower back pain. I have a feeling in my lower back area that I need to be very careful how I move as to not move the "wrong' way and my right hip hurts. I had the Mirena and with complications the Dr. put me on this pill for 3 months to try solve my bleeding problems with the Mirena. I started having back pain. i thought it was the Mirena. I have been off the pill for a month and I decided to have the Mirena removed last week. He started me back on the pill and i am having back pain again along with nausea and headaches. My back actually "caught" on me this morning and took me 2 hours to stand again. Thank God I was at home. I call the GYN and they say the back pain is not related to female problems. I originally went to my Primary doctor with the back problem and he did a CT scan and x-ray- all came back good. My back only seems to hurt when my stomach is cramping. Can't get my GYN to understand. anyone else having these back problems? ******

I had my Mirena removed yesterday due to complications since i had it replaced in May 08. (little to no complications with the first one) The GYN said I now have an infection in my uterus (Endometritis). My symptoms are: lower back ache, headaches, abdominal pain, bloated, nausea, irritability, breast tenderness, fatigue. I got a shot while in the office and am on Doxycyclin Hyc for 10 days. My primary Dr called today with results from a CT Scan done last week due to these symptoms and I have lesions on my liver. I now have an ultra sound scheduled for tomorrow. Listen to your body. If you have the Mirena and do not feel well, please do not put off having it removed. I hope my symptoms will subside soon. I faught to keep this 2nd mirena for 8 months now. I hope I haven't waited to late, and more damage is yet to show up.

Having breathing problems since taking yaz?-- I have been reading all the postings on ladies having breathing problems. It has been maybe 7 years ago now, but I feel a necessity to share my story. I had been on Yaz for 2 months. I became short of breath to the point I could not walk across the room without having to sit down. My primary dr did an EKG and immediately had me rushed to the ER for test. I was sent to different specialist and over $10K in test were done within a week. By this time I WAS ON OXYGEN! They ran blood work, test on my heart, lungs and checked my legs for blood clots. I ask my GYN if it could be the Yaz. (the only med I was taking) and he said no- never heard of such. I took it upon myself to stop taking it and guess what!---I immediately was better. I turned my oxygen tanks in, doctor's never diagnosed me and I never heard from them again. I am 34 and have always been healthy with the exception of this incident which praise God was resolved "in time".
However, I would like to share that I now have a Mirena. The first 5 years was great, I had it replaced in May 08 and I believe this second one is not agreeing with me. I bled for 5 months, have a very heavy feeling in the bottom on my stomach, lower back pain, & fatigue. My appt is Jan 29th to have it removed. ******

I am so miserable. I had the mirena inserted at 6 wks post partem in June 2008. My doctor told me I'd bleed for about 3-6 months initially until my body "stabilized". I spotted on and off for 4 mths, and had my first yeast infection ever within that 4 months! I also began to become very moody, weepy, tired all the time, experienced terrible constipation, bad headaches and had the most irritating acne. I even went to my regular doc about being tired to get my thyroid levels checked and they were fine. I didn't even think that it could be the mirena b/c I didn't do the research on it before hand! I wish I would have! I have also experienced another yeast infection-and think I may have another now! That makes 3 since I've had this thing-in a 6 month period! Then in early October I began having hives on my extremities, and since have it on and off all over-no change in soaps or lotions or anything like that. I have no reason for them...except for the mirena. This past week I've had terrible abdominal cramps and painful intercourse. So I went to check for the placement of my strings...and...they're not hanging out anymore! So I will definately be calling my OB in the morning and having this thing removed...hopefully no damage has occured!

I've only been on topamax for about a month and a half and already I'm feeling some interesting side effects. In the first week of taking the medication I had such pressure behind my left eye I thought it was going to pop. It eventually went away and has not come back (thank the Lord). I also experienced some pretty nasty numbness, tingling, and uncomfortable pins and needles in my fingertips and toes/sole of my foot. The tingling in my hands usually lasted a few hours and the tingling in my feet only lasted for a couple of minutes. This tingling is never predictable.
Eventually the tingles went away and I was tingle free for a while. But in the past few days they came back. It actually coincided with my PMS. The tingles came back and with intensity about three days before my period started. I was wondering if it was common to have a side effect return or increase in intensity around your menstrual cycle? My hormones are pretty nutty and the reason I'm on topamax is to stop severe migraine auras and slight seizures that are tied to my menstrual cycle.
The feet tingles are the worst. It feels like I'm being jabbed with needles and I hate when it happens while I'm sleeping because it wakes me up and I can't fall back asleep again until they go away... they are that irritating. The hands I can deal with because I'm used to my left arm going numb when I was having the auras.
My sleep patterns have been disturbed because of topamax... I'm not too peeved about that. I still manage to get enough sleep. However there are times when I'm out with friends or having conversations and I'll know the word I want to say and I'll just bust out the wrong one. Like for example saying symphony instead of sympathy. My friends have gotten used to it and know what I'm trying to say. It cracks them up when my word salad produces sexual innuendos on accident when I really mean something else. BUT it's really messing up job interviews at the moment. I'm a bright and articulate person who is getting her BA in Anthroplogy and Archaeology, minor in History and am trying to get research assistant jobs at museums and universities. It's really hard to get a job when you are sitting there sounding like an uneducated moron high on crack.
I haven't had problems with memory, thank the Lord. Even though I've got the word salad going on (and it's strange... the word jumbles are only when I'm speaking... I'm super coherent when typing) I'm not forgetful. I was able to make it through finals week perfect, while juggling a full work load. I hope I don't start losing my memory.
I haven't lost any weight (AW SHUCKS!!!!!). I was looking forward to that one. How soon should I expect to lose weight by, if I do in fact lose weight? I'm a difficult duck when it comes to weight loss. I've been at a stable weight since I was 13. I'm an athlete so my body is my temple sort of thing. But in the past two years I've put on a little bit of unwanted weight in certain areas when I stopped hitting the weight machines :( My question is, if I haven't lost it yet... will I lose any?
I'm also classified as type II bipolar, obsessive compulsive, and anxiety disordered. I've noticed my mood has stabilized. I'm not as all over the place as I used to be. My highs could get pretty high and when they would get up there my obsessive compulsive would almost go on a little joy ride. And when I was low, I was super low and my anxiety would take the depression out for a spin. But now I feel a calmness and a zen that I never felt previously. It's not an apathy I can certainly tell you that. I feel like I am in control of my life. I thank topamax for that.
Reading all of these posts I just worry that the honeymoon period of my medication maybe over. I worry about other side effects cropping up. I think that I can deal with my tingling extremities and that I can manage my word salads. I don't want the pressure in my eye to come back. I also don't want to start exhibiting the other side effects. What is the possibility that I will start exhibiting more side effects or are you generally stuck with what initially presents in the first month or so? My doctor also does NOT intend on increase my dosage. He thinks 50mg once a day will do me just fine. Oh and one last question, anyone else experiencing the side effect increase coinciding with PMS?
Sorry for the super long post! All replies are welcome!

I have been on lipitor 10mg for about 6 mths (after reacting to lipex with severe hip pain and going off that). Am now experiencing abdominal pain, severe headaches, excruciating neck pain and to top it off a droopy eyelid and loss of extreme peripheral vision after a bout of flashing auras and fluid like waves in the outer edge of my eye. After tests my retina is not detaching so what is the cause then. My cholesterol is high when not on lipitor and am wanting to lower it without drugs. I could do with losing 10kg weight but will that bring down the cholesterol. I walk every morning for 30-40 mins. Diet is healthy, a few junk things each week but not overly so.

My doctor prescribed Lisinopril for my high BP but before I took any I read all the stories on here and was too afraid to take it.Finally I had to do something to lower my BP because I needed surgery and the surgeon would not do the operation if my BP was high.Long story short, I started the Lisinopril, have been on it now for 2 months and I'm glad I did. It not only lowered my BP to normal in one day but I did not experience all the nasty side effects mentioned on this site. The only side effects I have experienced so far are the coughing but that was mild and it has since gone away and only happened a few times and just a little dizziness occasionally upon standing from a sitting position, I sleep very well, no hair loss, not cranky, appetite is good. I'm really happy with this medication.

Hi....Gosh and I glad I found this page! I was beginning to think I was Bi-Polar or having some kind of hormone imbalance! I have 6 children. And I have always been so laid back and had the most patience in the world until now! After baby # 6...I had the mirena put in because I did not want to have my tubes tied and did not want to go back on the pill because of the side effects I have had. I have had the mirena in now for about 16 months....and since I have had it in I am so moody and irritable all the time....just snapping at everyone and getting upset over little things that never used to bother me...no sex drive what so ever....weight gain....and I feel like I am forgetting things and that I am just scatterbrained! LOL! Also my Boobs hurt so bad....to the point where I took a PG test because I thought I was PG. When I went to by OB for my 1 year check-up I discussed all these symptoms with her...she did not believe it was all coming from the Mirena but that a lot of the side effects could be like the low sex drive and breast tenderness....and as for the mood changes just said there was medication that could help with those. So up until now I was really thinking something was wrong with me...but reading everyone else's comments I know now that I am not the only one...and that this really did not become a problem till after I had this put in. I love the fact that I do not have to worry about birth control...and periods! I have been period free for over a year now....but at the same time do not see how that is normal. So I do think I am gonna make an appt. after Christmas and get this taken out. My husband does not want me to....because he thinks we will end up with another 1/2 dozen kids...LOL! But I need to get back to my normal self and cannot do that until I figure out what is going on with me and getting this Mirena removed is my 1st step! If anyone would like to email me and talk more feel free to email me at ******. Thanks!

Im 35 have 2 children and had mirena fitted in Feb of 2008. It was the most painful thing i have ever experienced. There was a med student in the room when he did it and she said after it was over that was the most brutal thing shes ever seen. After it was inserted i bled for about two weeks but it did let up. In the months that followed I experienced the acne,(i have always had clear skin), the weight gain, the fatigue, the headaches, the fogginess, and the worst to me was a major personality change. I was miserable. Depressed and extremely on edge all the time. I blamed my constant crankiness on the fact that I could no longer fit into any of my clothes, and the 15lbs that i had gained. In August my mom asked me if i was pregnant cuz she said I looked like i was. The day after my mom said that I went to weight watchers and did manage to lose 10 of those lbs. Which isnt that great considering i lost 42 lbs in 4mths when i went on it after i had my 2nd daughter and it took me 3 1/2 mths to lose 10! Anyway, 2 weeks ago i started with this dizziness and the tingling feeling in my arms and legs. Went to the doc and she said I had an inner ear infection. Took the meds she gave me and still felt crappy. Then last Monday i had a total breakdown. I couldn't get out of bed, the left side of my face was feeling like it was numb. My cousin came to see me and asked me what was wrong and I simply said "I think im losing my mind!" She said well u haven't been yourself since you had "that thing put in". So her and i got on the computer and googled mirena side effects and WOW!! I could not believe what I was reading. I could relate to every woman's story. I called my doc and had to fight with the idiots at the front desk but I got an appointment tues the 25th to have it removed. The doc looked at me like I was crazy when I told her what was going on. She said theres no way mirena was causing that and i should go see a neurologist but shed take it out for me anyway just to ease my mind.
Well let me tell you how I feel today 5 days post mirena. I feel WONDERFUL!!! I actually felt better within an hour after she removed it. The tingling and numbness stopped and that foggy feeling was gone, and my insides no longer felt like they were being squeezed together. I started heavy bleeding on Friday (at walmart on black Friday, to give you a laugh). Im going through a tampon every two hours but i have to say it feels wonderful. I just feel great I don't care about the bleeding at all thats how good I feel. My stomach is flat again, and when i weighed myself this morning i was 7lbs down from Monday, and i haven't been dieting at all, ate like a cow on thanksgiving. I even look different in the mirror. I swear my skin had a grayish tint to it when i had the mirena and today im all pink and rosy again. When i think about how i felt and the mths of my life that i lost, i cant believe a form of birth control caused that. They really need to educated people more on this device. Yea the thought of not having a period is cool but at what expense? Ill take my period over feeling like that any day!

I had my Mirena inserted in Jan2008. After a few weeks of bleeding it finally stopped and things were ok for awhile. Recently I noticed how fat I had become (I gained 14 pounds in 10 months) and how bloated my abdomen is! I look like I am 4 month pregnant!! I had my Mirena removed today (Nov 25) and could not be happier or more relieved to have that horrible thing out of me!!! I am hoping that it won't take too long or be too difficult to lose the weight. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE GETTING A MIRENA IUD AND THEN DON'T!!!

For me having the Mirena removed just last Thursday was the right decision. I was not using it for birth control but as hormone therapy for heavy, crampy periods. I had it inserted in July 2008 and bled every single day for the entire time, I had it removed last week and now I am bleeding very heavily but hopefully that will stop once all those hormones are out of my body.
While on Mirena I lost all sex drive, I became severely anemic and with that fatigued terribly, and moody, crying at nothing and screaming at my kids or husband for stupid reasons, I felt bloated and gassy and didn't have those problems before.
I am 42 years old and I hate my heavy bleeding in fact I want a hysterectomy, but not sure now what I will do.
For those of you who had the Mirena removed, how long did it take to stop bleeding afterwards? This is draining every last ounce of energy for me and I am taking iron supplements.
What sucks is the cost of this, Even with insurance I ended up paying a lot out of pocket to get this thing and then all the Dr. visits due to bleeding and side affects in the 4 months it was in and now the removal of it. I am wondering if there is any way that we can get a Class action lawsuit against Bayer for this horrible thing they are trying to sell to women.
I know there are some out there who have not suffered all these horrible side effects at least not yet or that they are aware of, but I truly believe that there is nothing good about this IUD and those of us and there are a lot of us who have suffered with this should be reimbursed or compensated for the pain and loss of parts of our lives and expenses with this. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have had MIRENA for about two months now. Not real sure about it . During intercourse my husband says he can feel it. I was told that he would not notice it there at all. Now he actually said it felt like it was poking him. How is this normal ? When I'm not bleeding we still can not enjoy our sex life because of MIRENA. I believe i'm going to have it removed. Has anyone else experienced this problem???
