Mucsle symptoms and conditions

I was given Levaquin after a post surgical Staph infection was confirmed. I too had the side effects described by so many others. Extreme muscle aches, joint pain even in my fingers, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, dizziness. My Dr. said to try to fight through it because the Staph infection needed thia particular antibiotic to cure it. I am 5 days into my 10 day dose and I can't keep taking the pills. I am scared and don't want to end up in the hospital again. He tried to give me a prescription for Bactrim but I said no because i can't take it. I have worse side effects with it than I have the Levaquin. I can't stay wake for more then 1 hour and I dose off but wake up with 15 minutes feeling drained. I can't walk very far without my legs feeling like jello. My WHOLE BODY HURTS!!

I was prescribed Levaquin 1000 mg. for 5 days for pneumonia the last week of December 2006. I was also prescribed Prednisone. Everything I ate tasted like metal. A couple of days after I started taking the Levaquin I started experiencing muscle cramps in my rib cage which are so severe it makes me double over in pain. After more than a year I still have the muscle cramps which now include not only my rib cage, but the arch of my feet and sometimes legs. I have a torn tendon in my left arm which didn't happen until about a month ago, but I am sure it is caused from muscle damage from the Levaquin. I am also on Advair Discus 250 which I didn't take before using the Levaquin. I didn't require inhalers or other medication before the pneumonia. My doctor now says I have COPD caused from asthma and chronic bronchitis. I used an Albuterol inhaler when I first got sick because the pneumonia was so bad. I thought after taking the Levaquin I would get back to normal. But even after the infection was cleared up I would get out of breath, so I returned to my doctor. She did an x-ray and said I had COPD and prescribed the inhalant. What I don't understand is that I didn't have breathing problems before the Pneumonia. I didn't have joint pain and muscle cramps either. I have had to quit working this past year because of it. I cannot go without the Advair, I can no longer walk long distances without pain. I have constant muscle pain just trying to do normal housework. How long do the effects last? Must be a lifetime.

I am on now 400mg of Topamax a day. I take it for epilepsy. I have some halluciations but I ignore them. I lost over 30 lbs. The weight loss was needed because of a seond medication I am still currently on that made me gain weight. The Topamax gives my legs and neck the worst pain and mucsle achs... I get blurred vision. I will be trying to talk and my speech will start to slur or I forget words that I will need help remembering that are right on the tip of my tongue. My short term memory, that is not so good, I forget things most of the time. The medicine is for migrane relief but since I have been on it I have had the worst headaches ever! Along with the rest of you I do have gas problems also......The only reason I do not get off this stuff is that I have tried over 10 different medicines that didn't control my seizures, this does. I have had all the tests, Just went in for an MRI, what else can we do?

I've been taking Welchol for about 6 wks. in this time I have had urinarie infection, constipation with blood , gas, and some headaches. I've been unable to take the crestor it made me sick at my stomach. Zocor and Lipator effects my sleep pattern and causes mucsle problems.

I get a sharp stabbing pains in the mucsle of my arm...I take 1/2 of a 25mg. I was just changed to every other day dose, and the day I take it puts me in pain until it wares off, the pain is so painful
I can barely stand it. Other medicine I take is diovan, synthroid.
fluid medicaton k-dur, the pain starts when I take chlorthalidone.
Is this possible?...........LORETTA

I WAS ON LIPITOR FOR 2 YEARS. I STARTED HAVING MUCSLE PAIN BUT MY DOCTOR BLAMED THE PAIN ON SOMETHING ELSE UNTIL I WENT IN ONE DAY AND THE PAIN IN MY ARMS WAS SEVERE. I COULDN'T RAISE THEM EVEN 12 INCHES FROM MY SIDES. THIS WAS ON AUG.22,03 AND TODAY IS NOW OCT.25,03 AND THE PAIN IS STILL SEVERE. THE ONLY HELP IS STRONG PAIN MEDS AND STEROIDS. SO FAR THE STEROIDS HAVE HELPED THE MOST BUT THEY CAN'T BE TAKEN FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. I HAVE STOPPED THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOWN IF PAIN EVER LEAVES AND HOW LONG IT COULD TAKE. I'VE BEEN OFF LIPITDR FOR OVER 2 MONTHS NOW WITHOUT ANY IMPROVEMENT. MY DOCTOR HAS NOW SENT TO AN ARTHRITIS SPECIALIST TO SEE IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME FIND OUT HOW LONG THE PAIN MIGHT LAST. MY HAIR HAS ALSO THINNED.
