I was excited to learn that my doctor would allow me to get Mirena as I have never had any children. He said that it would be more uncomfortable but besides that there was no reason I should not have it. I was 22 when it was inserted and I still don't want children for a long time, if ever. I had been on NuvaRing since I began birth control but I was about to lose my health insurance so I thought this was the best bet. I started putting on weight and I attributed it to the fact that I had just lost a lot of weight and after a few months of getting too comfortable at barbecues and holidays, it was catching up to me. I got that pair of pants thinking it would just be til I got it back off. I started exercising more than I ever had and was eating well and nothing. I started getting down on myself. I tried to explain to someone that it wasn't the way I looked, it was how I felt. I said I never felt so heavy, like my body was dragging at all times, and I've been heavier than this in the past and didn't feel this awful. I kept attributing it to one thing or another, the worse it gets the worse I eat and now it is by my own fault. I was getting depressed around the holidays and usually love everything that comes with it, yet was happy to work this year. I've been avoiding everyone. I've had the worse cramps I've ever had. I can tolerate pain...piercings, tattoos, the whole shabang. I was literally doubled over that it would stop me in my tracks. I usually avoid painkillers as they give me nausea but even after taking muscle relaxers and ibuprofen I could barely function, in fact I was happy to try to sleep it off. I have been bleeding for well over a month now, when I usually only bleed for a few days. When I wasn't "bleeding" I was spotting which was actually something even less appealing. The only headache I've ever previously had were after wisdom teeth extraction and I now get headaches almost everyday. I'm rambling, but I could go on and on. I've been so tired that I drag all day but I can't sleep. It's been suggested that I might be anemic and I try to eat well and take vitamins and nothing is helping but caffeine which just makes my mood swings worse, and like I said I try to eat well. I don't drink soda and have a sensible diet (outside of the past few months getting worse and worse anxiety about my weight). I'm not a cryer and have found myself sobbing while "PMSing" if that's what you call it when you feel like there's no more "pre" because it's almost constant, and saying that I know these thoughts are absurd. A year ago if something was wrong I'd have taken aggressive steps to improving my mental health. I love everything in my life. I've got a great job and everything, but something just doesn't seem right. I heard a lyric that said something along the lines of, "Everything's right but something's still wrong." I actually found myself telling someone, "I'm not sad anymore. I've just accepted that I'll never really be happy...at least I won't allow myself to be for long." I just haven't felt myself in a long time. I've had the worst UTIs I've ever had, more than one but one that was almost enough to encourage me to have it removed then. Again, I attributed it to something else. I had been on vacation and since I had recently had it inserted thought it was natural, considering that a-little-more-frequent-sex-during-vacation-thing. I work with mentally ill patients, who seem to be comfortable saying just about anything that pops in their heads and they have commented, not only on my weight, but on my facial hair. I mean I don't have a mustache growing, but my normal peach fuzz is turning into peach furr. I've had absolutely no sex drive, none. Not to get too personal, but I usually thoroughly enjoy masturbating. I don't even enjoy that. I actually forced myself one day when I was feeling down, thinking my lack of it was affecting my mood due to hormone levels. That's about the only thing I want to occasionally do, again thought the lack of sex drive was due to body issues but now I'm not so sure. My man actually told me one day he thought I was being more aggressive at one point, but it was because as he was getting intimate I almost had to force myself to get it over with (nothing against him). He comes near me just to hug me or sit near me and I pull away. I know I've rambled and rambled and rambled. However, I just didn't put all of these things together. I thought this might all be in my head, stress, etc. etc. Just reading this gave me so much hope. Like I said, I've barely been said anymore. I've been able to say that I'm happy with a frown on my face...I know everything IS right in my life, but it hasn't FELT right in a long time. Thank you all for this. I will be sure to come back and note the aftermath when I have it removed. I don't have insurance anymore, but I am going to see what I can do about getting it removed as soon as possible. Just for a comparable point, last year at this point in time (pre-Mirena) I was at about 133 pounds. I had leveled out at about 140 and been steady for awhile. I had Mirena inserted last November and now, in mid-April, I am a little over 160. I will be calling my doctor today. I thank you all again, so SO much. I hope this helps someone else as much as it did me.

YAZ changed my life. And not in a good way. I'm now 40 yrs old. I've been on BC since age 16 and only OFF BC to have two children. I had NEVER had any problems with BC, and it helped me with my Endometriosis. I was switched to yaz about 1 1/2 years ago to help with some depression/acne. I was told it had the same side effects as my OrthoLo. So I took it. My skin looked great. I felt better emotionally in the beginning, but physically I started having trouble. It started with little things. I had no sex drive, I was tired all the time. Slowly I started getting infections that would take FOREVER to go away. (mostly sinus) I felt like I had the flu all the time, I had fevers for no reason and was achy and irritable. I then started to become anxious for no reason, I wasn't sleeping well and was becoming more and more exhausted. I saw my doctor and they tested my thyroid...no problem. Then after a few months, I saw my doctor after having bad pain in my side/neck/back and she gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers. I got better slowly...but never felt the same after that. I never had energy. Nobody knew they were BLOOD CLOTS in my lungs. It was a YEAR later when I went back with the exact same pain/symptoms and was sent home with the same meds. I knew it was something more. I saw another doctor that did more tests, then went to the ER and was sent home with pneumonia and pleurisy. 4 Days later I went to the ER and was admitted with MASSIVE PE's. I spent 1 week in the hospital and after a week at home I had a mini-stroke and my 3rd visit to the ER. Since the stroke I have had 2 seizures. I can't drive, my life has changed so much. I can't do everything I used to, can't function the way I used to and all of it is from YAZ!! I may have to be on Warfarin for LIFE. It all depends on how much scar tissue I have from the blood clots. I tell everyone I talk to NOT to take YAZ for any reason. It's NASTY, NASTY stuff...posing as a BC pill like the others. Of course...NOW they have changed thier commercials to be more descriptive. But I'll join any class action suit!! Just contact me.

I am a 31 year old male, in decent shape (play basketball, volleyball, workout at least 3 times a week) but I have a family history of high blood pressure and have had it myself as long as I've been tested. Went to cardiologist as a check up on my slightly enlarged heart, long story short, ended up on Metoprolol (25mg) beginning of 2008 and have been fine but no real help with bp. Then was put Lisinopril (5mg) a few months ago and my blood pressure was great at last checkup. However during that time I had a couple of weeks where I was very dizzy, that sort of feeling your brain is taking a second to keep up with your head as you get up, along with a fogginess and what seemed like sinus issues but I chalked it up to weaning off of a small dosage of Zoloft I had taken for over a year. I also developed "the cough" everyone refers to, but since it is winter in New England I chalked it up to dry heat, even though it was a choking cough unlike any I've ever had before. Also during that time I seemed to completely lose my sex drive, again figuring it was just something to do with the Zoloft or general anxiety. Then in the past week I started getting a constant headache, having really interrupted sleep, very foggy and out of it, tired, dehydrated, constipation, nausea, all things that I would normally associate with allergies or some kind of sinus/flu, but yet I couldn't really pinpoint anything that would be causing it.
Then I finally started looking up things about the meds I was taking and came upon this site, and guess what? Everything and every way I was feeling was described in hundreds and hundreds of posts on this site. I don't think my side affects were quite as strong as some have experienced (for instance the cough is very infrequent, like twice a day) but I have only begun my journey with Lisinopril. So despite the warnings, I decided to stop taking it a few nights ago, and almost instantly I began feeling better the next day and since then.
I have since called my cardiologist and he has recommended I switch to Diovan, basically saying that based just on the cough symptom alone, he wants me off of Lisinopril as this is a known side affect. Now I am left debating whether or not I want to continue down this path of trying different combinations of pills to poison my body in order to lower my bp. It seems like others have noted marked differences between taking Diovan and Lisinopril, where the Diovan has been much more tolerable than Lisinopril (with a great decrease in any side-affects) but I'm 31 and although I know it will be very difficult to reduce my bp on my own (believe me, I've tried) maybe I'm too young to start with the "last resort" of these toxins. Just reading about the possibility that Lisinopril was robbing my body of zinc or other minerals, so that my immune system is greatly weakened, likely being the cause for most of the symptoms, is enough to ward me off of pills altogether. It's a sad statement on the state of health care in America when I am left to basically make such an important decision on my own, because I can't trust that my doctors aren't just working in the interest of the drug companies to boost their income. I don't want to have to choose between a silent killer and a horrible existence filled with "side-affects".
In the end, based on some of the reports on here, I think starting on 40mg of Diovan will be fine, but I will certainly be VERY wary of anything unusual and immediately find other options.

Hi Ladies, I am glad to have found this site. I got my Mirena inserted on July/08. I was very nervous and anticipated the pain, however with the 2 Tylenol that I popped prior to the appointment and the wonderful nurse I had the pain was bearable, nothing more than a bit of cramping and a little pinch and it was over. I figured we had got off to a great start, except for the uncomfortable feeling of having a foreign object in my body that lasted about a month. My partner complained that it poked him during intercourse but he understood our WHY to having this done, I was determined to make it work. Now Im a 28day cycle girl that is regular...lasting only 4-5 days. Since Mirena has been in my life I am bleeding for up to 2 weeks long, seems like my periods get longer and longer! I have experienced bacteria vaganosis, along with yeast infections. Yuck! Weight gain of 15lbs, minor stomach pains and the mood swings. This is starting to affect my life and its very frustrating...Im sitting on the fence with what to do. I go to my doctor next week and will have made up my mind by then, I cant take it anymore! Even if it were not for the irregular, looong periods, I think I would hang in there, but am tired of constantly feeling wet! and not being able to touch my partner!

Hi
I just started taking 20mg of Prednisone for a shoulder injury. So far I have all but loss my appetite, which sounds strange to me since my doctor told me to expect to gain weight very quickly. I have also loss my need to sleep. I was up from Saturday 11:15 am morning the first day I began Prednisone and wasn't able to get to sleep until Sunday night around 10:00pm. I'm sweating like I'm constantly being rained on, it is so darn annoying. I also started to lose my voice last night and then again today, is that normal with is drug? I'm so full of energy all I do is clean our house, work out in my flower beds, etc. I'm kinda of scare of this drug and I'm glad I will be off of it next Tuesday unless my shoulder isn't better when I start physical therapy tomorrow. I wish you all the best while you are taking this drug.
Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Well what more can be said really ? most all of us have suffered a great deal for a long time with going to a bunch of quack dr.'s listening to drug reps (Pushers) sell their dope and we all want to believe there is hope but there is none .these problems we have know one knows the actual cause so therefore there won't be a cure . sure there are a few success stories but for the majority these side effects are only the beginning I really don't want to bear children anymore due to i am afraid of what I put in my body and are my plumbing problems hereditary? I couldn't live with myself knowing that I passed on all theese problems to my child. I have been off lupron now for well I can't remember what year it was I think it was 2005or 2006 and I am still having issues.....................
Bone/Joint pain , MEMORY , G I problems , Weight gain , Depression , Tired all the time , Dizzyness , I can't walk straight , heart palpatations , upset stomach , impatient , the hair thinning has got better , but the dandreff hasn't , i'm irritable , moody , and my fave acne the night sweats went away after they gave me the northindrone it really helped and the prozac really helped with the sever mood swings . But I am not myself I haven't been in a long time . the worst side effect is a broken spirit. the con's FAR outweigh the pro's
pain killers and muscle relaxers with a laporoscopy with a briliant surgeon like a endocrinoligist not a plain GYN Along with a great diet and exercise and maybe throw some metformin in for kicks and that my friends is a great start . we do have alternitives . we just have to search for them sometimes .

I have 3 children on singulair they are 11,8 and 4. My 4 yr old started it when he was almost 1 when we found out he had asthma and the other two were put on it for allergies for about a year now. I have heard from my 4 yr old that his stomach hurts, he says it all the time, everyday I keep getting on to my 11 yr old telling her if she wouldnt say things like that he wouldnt hear it and repeat it. My 11 yr old has ADD and is on Ritlin. My 8 yr old is ADHD and has been on different Meds to figure out which is the best for him. He has been really depressed and so has my 11 yr old. I put both of them on anti-depressents. My 11 yr old had to be hospitalized in October of 07 for taking medications, anything she could get her hands on. I would find baby tylenol missing knowing I hadnt used it all. Then it was pain pills and muscle relaxers that I had put up from when I hurt my back. When I first found out what she was doing I locked everything up took her to see her Psychiatrist and her Psycologist and I was told by one of them not to worry It was her age that it was normal and basicaly blamed it on tv. I spent more time taking her to her doctors. I asked question with so many people on what to do I got nowhere. I finally found a hospital they took her for a week, her answer to taking the pills was if she took them then she would die and everything bad in her life would all go away. She was released before she could finish treatment because insurance wouldnt cover her stay inless it was outpatient. I couldnt find a place that would was close to do out patient so we stopped going. I finally found a doctor that treated everything her eatting disorder, nightmares, ithching, depression, moodiness, anger, stomach aches, crying and leg cramps, We have been going to these doctors and it has never helped. My 8 yr old has been mean, screaming at everyone crying all the time for no reason you ask him why he cries and all he can say is he doesnt know why. The crying is different than any other crying its not the same as when he gets into trouble or when he gets hurt, its just a very sad cry.He has OCD, seavere depression, ticks, anger, night mares and is very moody. He is never happy, he never smiles. Its really sad to see him like this and to not know why and what to do. My 4 yr old He has asthma that is why he was put on it. He used to get ear infections all the time, no sooner than he got over one, another one started. He is always saying his stomach hurts. I took him to the doctor she said nothing was wrong. He has been really mean I just always thought he see's his brother and sister acting this way so he learned it from them. He has been in Speech therapy since he was 2 and is finally doing better, I always thought because of the ear infections thats why his speech has been so bad, the school thought the same thing, he has been tested and and everything is normal so the infections have been to blame. He wont sleep in his own bed he is afraid we are going to leave him. I took them off of it and it has been about 7 days now and my 8 yr old has stopped crying, he is happy I dont have to get onto him for being mean, My 4 yr old has not complained about his stomach hurting. He has been nicer to his brother and sister. Its amazing at how there is such a big difference in them and I can only hope it will get better since it has only been a few days. I have pulled them off of there anti-depressents and they havent needed them. Its amazing at how there is such a big difference in them and I can only hope it will get better since it has only been a few days.

I was on Lisinopril for a while until the dry hacking cough drove me crazy. It got so bad I had trouble driving. I would start coughing severely and could not stop. Had trouble with bladder control due to coughing. Went to my Urologyst, he mentioned coughing and Lisinopril. I looked it up online and immediately stopped taking it. Cough stopped in about 2 weeks. Husband has been on it for about 6 yrs and 3 wks ago started having SEVERE muscle cramping on back. Drs. give him muscle relaxers and pain killers. One of his toes is twitching (mine used to do that too) and seems to be confused and forgetful. I just told him he's not taking it any more. Lisinopril is pure poison!!!!!!!!!

I had what I thought was a sinus infection for three months, I was treated with various antibiotics and Prednisone. Finally a CT Scan was done and I had clear sinuses. I was having pain/tingling under my eyes, extreme tension in my cheeks, jaw, neck and shoulders. It turned out that I was having "involuntary muscle contractions" related to the medication. I had to take muscle relaxers for several days after getting off Topamax. It has been 3 months since I've been off and I am still having some tingling/discomfort under my eyes. I am seeing a neurologist soon to see if this is permanent nerve damage.

I've had my Mirena for about 15 and a half months and I am having it removed today at 2 o'clock. At first I had sharp pains when I would sit down and I felt like the cords were poking me and irritating me. My OB/GYN requires patients to come back one month after having it put in so he can check it and make sure it is still in place. At this visit he also trimmed the cords although he acted like he didn't believe me when I told him that I could feel them poking me when I sat down and that it hurt. At first I didn't notice any bad side effects, but I did have one good one: my periods stopped, but I still had occasional and sporadic spotting. I didn't think to look for any bad side effects because I got the device under the impression that it had no bad side effects. I thought it only had a rare complication of perforating the uterus, but since mine was in place at the one month check, I didn't think about anymore until I started thinking about having another baby recently. I went online to see if I had to have a doctor remove the Mirena or if I could do it myself, and I found out that it's best done by a professional because bad things can happen and then you'd have to go to the doctor anyway. Plus, I didn't want to hurt my chances of having another baby. While online I discovered this whole world of message boards where women were having a lot of the same problems I'd been having in recent months and they all blamed their Mirenas. Some claimed that their problems had gone away since having it removed. I never thought to link my circumstances to the Mirena, but when I saw how many women are having the exact same problems as me I knew that I needed to go ahead and get mine out ASAP. Here is a list of my side effects, and I've found other women have had them as well with Mirena: weight gain, bloated stomach, depression, short temper with husband and daughter, acne, low sex drive, spotting, cramps, constipation, and back pain. There may be more, but I can't remember them all right now. Some of them may not even be related to the device, but I've read of so many women with Mirena who are having or have had the same issues, so I suspect a link between my problems and Mirena. I hope this helps someone out there looking for answers. God Bless!

I started having extreme pain in my shoulder. Then in my hip and lower back. Then one day I was fifty miles from home and I had extreme pain in my stomach and back. The pain was so bad I couldn't hardly drive. I had to call someone to come and pick me up and take me to a doctor.
I was given a pain shot and an antibiotic shot. He said my white blood cell count was pretty high. The pain shot did nothing for me.I've been given a round of antibiotics, Z pack, inflammation tablets, and muscle relaxers.
The pain has eased up a little, but the pain is still pretty bad. The doctor wanted to know if I had started a new medicine recently. The only new medicine I was taking is Vytorin. I had also had chest pains. I had no idea that any of these pains had anything to do with each other.
To me Vytorin has been a nightmare.
My whole Christmas was ruined because I was in extreme pain.

I had the Mirena IUD inserted in September 2007... BIG MISTAKE! I paid $550.00 for the stupid IUD & another 225.00 for doctor fees!!
Okay here's my story.. I have three children, 26 yrs old, married, 120/122 pounds.. can stay in shape/get in shape easily, happy, VERY short 3-4 day periods.. BEFORE Mirena..
Now.. its been 7 weeks.. And even though I keep to the same diet, I have gained 8 pounds! I have been on a period & constantly spotting for 15 DAYS~ oh yeah.. AND bad, bad, bad, BLOATING!! Yesterday I had Severe Cramps- my doctor is out of town so the nurse actually called in muscle relaxers to help with the pain.. I was in TEARS yesterday. I NEVER EVER had menstrual cramps before.... to make things worse..I am so moody & I hate my quick temper. I have never had acne, but now I get a few spots.. not so bad, but I shouldn't have any. I feel like I don't have control over my body.
My appointment is for this Thursday.. I am getting this thing removed, so I can return to normal!
Before getting this awful thing ( which hurts when inserted & bad cramps afterward) I was using NuvaRing for two months.. I did not have any of these bad side effects with NuvaRing... I am going to try that again.
IN SHORT.. I PAID over $800.00 for severe cramping, 15 day long periods, constant spotting, brown discharge, EXTREME BLOATING, huge weight gain, and acne!! WHAT?!? I want a refund!!

I started taking yaz about 8 months ago January 2007. I started getting some calf pain in the morning but didn't think anything about it, then when I went on vacation at the end of June both calves were hurting, I ended up going to a doctor on vacation and she gave me some muscle relaxers. By the time I flew back home in July, I ended up in the emergency room and given a strong pain reliever. I ended up going on line and went to my doctor the next day and told her that I thought it was Yaz, she send me for an ultra sound and I had a superficial clot in my left calf. Since I have ended up going to a vein specialist and am wearing support hose. Both legs are still really hurting (including my knees and ankles), I also have had severe eye pain and have gone to the opthalmologist, I have been prescribed glasses but feel now that it is the yaz, I have been off yaz for about 2 months and still having severe muscle pain, does anyone know how long this lasts...

Just wanted to update my situation. Well the shaking muscles have subsided a bit (it's been 8 days since I've stopped levaquin) been to the dr's 2 more times and had new blood work done yesterday. One doc says 90% sure it's from the levaquin but wants me to take the doxycyline anyway and then see a rhumatologist. My primary disagrees, did more blood work believes it definitely from the levaquin and is sending me to rhumatologist. They also they are updating their warnings in their office to make sure that it states this is a SERIOUS side effect (she also printed me off all my symptoms that are side effects of levaquin from their computer but say "rare") My knees started to subside until I bent down and BAMN just like it was all brand new, they are burning like no tomorrow! My ankles (achilles) and my shoulder tips (where the tendons are) are still killing and I am getting muscle contractions in my thighs and left arm but not as much, this may be due to the muscle relaxers and motrin. I have also been taking diazapam for the spasms so who knows how I would feel otherwise. I am disguising the pain with medication it seems and my fear is I am going to hurt myself worse. One dr told me that if the tendons were going to rupture then there is NOTHING I can do about it, they're going to rupture, the other dr. disagrees. My primary feels I need to be seen and diagnosed asap with tendon and joint pain and feels as though it's serious, but also believes it will not last as long as the other dr said (about 4 months). I am going to go swimming tomorrow because it's suppose to be good excercise for the tendons and joints. I have been putting hot pack and nuprin cream on the knees and ankles (cold seems to aggravate it and make them feel like they're ripping). If I type (like now) I can feel the burning in my shoulders and my left elbow now. This is a serious disease this medication has given me and the second I see the rhumatologist and I am diagonosed with something I do NOT want to hear (like permanant, or long term) I am calling a lawyer. I am not a sue happy person but who the hell does this company think they are making MILLIONS off of this medication and leaving people disabled or dibilitated for long periods of time. I am too young (early 40's) to be feeling like a 80 year old as a matter of fact my mom is 70 and goes to the gym every day and walks and swims, I was the same way until this medication poisoned me. I have herniated discs in my spine and they are aggravated because I have not been able to excersise that is part of my life and routine and I am furious.
If anyone has contacted this company, can you post it here and let me know what they have said? Thank you all and I hope you are all feeling better!

I've been trying to find out if NuvaRing can cause Pelvic Inflammation. I've never had a problem with sex being painful, but since I started the Ring, Sex is so painful that I hate it. Nothing else has changed, I've only been with my husband, so the only thing I can think of is that it's the ring. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I also have had severe side effect from Levaquin. I took 3 pills(1 a day for 3 days). I was given a 10 day supply. By the second day I had a sore shoulder. The next day I could not even raise my right arm. I've been on pain pills, muscle relaxers, etc. No medicine has helped. I was refered to an orthopedic doc and I have had 2 inhections in my right shoulder and just started physical therapyfor 3 days a week for 4 weeks. That has still not correct the promlem, Oh! The problem is a torn rotator cuff.

I received a drip of levaquin in a hospital ER for a infected dog bite. I was given a prescription after that and took 1 dose of 750 mg for four days. On the fourth day I was doing some minor physical work and started experiencing what felt like cramps in my calfs. It got worse after a few hours and started to spread slightly into the hamstring area. I went directly to my Dr. who said he didn't think it was a reaction from the drug even though muscle pain and sudden pain in the legs is listed as an adverse reaction. He gave me a muscle relaxer (Skelaxin).
I am taking Tramadol (Ultram) for back pain and knew that some muscle relaxers, such as cyclobenzaprine, can cause fatal respritory failure. I had to mention this and have them check to make sure there would be no adverse reaction from mixing the drugs. This is the office that prescribed the Tramadol.
I was told to discontinue the Levaquin and given a prescription for Cephalaxin. When I got home from the pharmacy and read the printout in the package I find that the drug should not be taken by anyone who has had allergic reaction to penicillin type drugs. I am highly allergic to penicillin which is in my medical records at the doctor's office.
UNBELIEVABLE !!

I've been taking Lipitor for one week. For the past three days, I've been experiencing increasingly worse pain in my right shoulder and neck muscles.
To combat the pain, I started taking muscle relaxers yesterday. It helps for approximately 8 hours and then the pain returns. I am going to stop taking the Lipitor today and call my doctor tomorrow (Monday).

I have been taking 10 mg of Lipitor for several years now. I was on Zocor before that and had aching muscles in my thighs and couldn't even walk around the park like I used to. Doctor took me off that although I don't think he was convinced that was the problem. One year ago I was in therapy for pain in my shoulder which the doctor said was the muscle that goes into the rotator cup. About a month ago, my right calf started hurting when I walked and it felt as though the muscle was tight and when I got up to answer the phone in the middle of the night it felt like it popped or tore or something. I iced it, elevated it, etc. and when it didn't get much better (I was walking stiff-legged not to contract the muscle), I went to the doctor. They send me for a doppler just to make sure it wasn't a blood clot which it wasn't. I am on Coumadin for occasional Atrial Fibrillation and they did find a hematoma (bruising) probably caused by an injury while on Coumadin. Anyway, the doctor gave me some muscle relaxers and this helped for a couple of days. Then, last week the leg started hurting again and I started to have the same pain in my left leg. Now I have pain in both calves and it is painful to walk or contract the calf muscles. I also feel a tiredness or achiness in my top, front thighs and my arms.
After my experience with Zocor I decided to look on the web for anything about Lipitor and muscle pains. I was shocked by all the posts and information I found that makes me believe the problems I have been having are from the Lipitor. I didn't even think about the problem with my shoulder until I read these sites and put two and two together (especially since I didn't do anything to injure it). I have now missed two doses and I have an appointment at the docs in a week. I am hoping by that time I will feel some improvement in my legs.
My brother is on 20 mg Lipitor and he experiences light headedness, swollen lips, tongue and genitals. My other brother takes 80 mg and his wife has complained of his moodiness and I wonder now if that has something to do with it. This drug is not for everyone.

I am a female, I went to my doctor Maybe a month ago with a urinary tract infection, He put me on levaquin. I begun to get a little better but the infection was not completely gone, So I called him back and went a second round with levaquin. That was like a month ago. I went back to the doctor with a rash that would not seem to go away. It started on my feet and then my legs, he told me it was Chigger bites, he gave me an anti-inflammtory drug, predinsone, and a lotion for itching. Shortly after that I pulled muscles in my shoulder and neck swimming, Went back to the Doctor, Was told I just pulled some muscles and was gave muscle relaxers and loratab. My rash by this time was much worse, it had spread to under my arms, buttocks, arms. Basically all over. I went back to the doctor today and was sent to a dermatologist. She right off looking at it close under a light, Said I had a drug reaction. The rash had spread to my throat and she was concerned about that. We went over all the different medication I had been on, I absent mindly forgot about the levaquin. She told me to refer to my medical record and try to find out what drugs I had taken in the past, That I didn't normally take. Levaquin was it. Be careful taking this medication, Drug reactions can be very dangerous. I am almost 90% sure that it was caused by the levaquin. I will touch base tomorrow with my dermatologist to see what she thinks about the levaquin- But after reading all of these side effects you all have had, I am convinced. Next urinary infection I have, I think i will ask the doctor for a different antibiotic.

I have been taking Yasmin for about 4 months. My doctor thought it was better for preventing diabetes. I am not at risk for diabetes, so I'm not sure why she did this. Anyway, since I've taken Yasmin, I've had so much trouble breathing, I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. I've gotten horrible cramps that resemble menstrual cramps, but I get these like, nowhere near the start or end of my period, almost 20 days a month! I use heating pads, heavy muscle relaxers, EVERYTHING! I just started getting the worst headaches I've ever felt...literally waking me from sleep, causing me to just cry from the pain. I didn't even stop to think Yasmin could be the culprit for ALL of these symptoms. I can't believe what i've readon this site, but hundreds of women can't be wrong. This pill is not worth the 3 day periods I get from it.....give me cramps for the normal 7 days. It would be nice for a change.

Im sorry for all of you ladies who have had issues with the Mirena but I love mine. I had it put in 1/09 7 weeks PP with my 3rd Daughter. I never had any cramping or bleeding with the exceptional spotting for the first 3 days and my sex drive is better than ever knowing I have less of a chance of getting pregnant than when I was taking the pill. No headaches or dizziness either. After reading all of your comments, I asked my doctor about all of those side effects when I had to go back a month later to check and make sure mine was in place. She said that they are possible side effect because every woman's body is different and some peoples bodies react differently as with any method of BC. There is still many women out there like me who have no side effects and Mirena is god-sent. I do apologize to all of you and hope you do end up finding something that is right for you.
