A grateful thank you to Adele and Oldcarpetcleaner-
I am so sorry that you having such problems- but it is reassuring to know that I am alone-
I am going to the U of Miami Liver Institute next week- and I will ask about CO-Q10; I have had a muscle biopsy-and I will make every effort not to have a liver biopsy-
I will try to find out what the time frame is for muscular pains- weakness-
even AFTER discontinuing Lipitor.
The bizarre thing -for me- is that the pain and weakness travel- not always in the same spot- but almost always reamin in my buttocks. The reason I ignored it for a couple of monthes as I was so actively doing squats aand weights- and thought it was the exercise. This drug seems to have had bad consequences for so many otherwise- previously healthy people.I will repost after I attend the liver Institute- -by the way- finding a true Liver Hepatologist- (NOT a gastroenterologist- they have liver and I have to travel to Miami . Good luck everybody.

Taken Lipitor for 4 years, 20mg.
Along with the muscular pains I've noticed an attitude change in my work. I am a self employed engineer, and attention to detail is essential. Nowadays, I can hardly be bothered to chase up a job, especially if it involves travel. I make mistakes more often (like connectiong 240VAC to a 24VDC device!) and I lose my temper more easily.
Been off the tablets for 2 days due to a mistake in ordering my repeat. I actually feel slightly more human in that short time! Problem is I dare not stop taking them.
On the physical side, if I remain in a position for any length of time, I have to carefully un-knot myself when I move, or the pain is horrible.
Great eh?

Been on Lipitor since 2000. Low cholesterol, but:
Neck pain
Muscular pains in chest and down arms ('Oh God - heart attack! What? every day, all day heart attacks? no!)
Feel like something 'caught up' in side muscles - relieved by bending sideways or creating huge click from neck!
Dizziness (can't look up without falling over)
Depression
Oh, I cant go on....

I am om my fifth zometa treatment. The first one,day 1,was
very scary...could not move hands and fingers post 12 hrs.
receiving zometa.fevers/chills for one day with generalized body malaise and anthralgias. This time,I thought these so
called transient muscular pains which are becoming so annoying especially when you're a nurse yourself trying to help sick people get out of bed and realizing you can't help
them due to aching bones and wrists...the books say all these
are temporary...but as I go every month, these symptoms are
increasingly getting worse...I begin to wonder if this is the
sign of the disease progressing or just the side and adverse
reactions of the zometa.......

I was diagnosed with graves disease last year, I had a really acute case that turned me into a total nut job.
-- By mostrovsky06 | Reply | (2) replies | Private Message meIn October after going through several thyroid storms and the doctors not being able to keep me stable with medications, I had a full thyroidectomy in October.
I started on .100 mcg of levothyroxine and then the dosage was gradually decreased, I started having a lot of random body aches, mood swings, lots of muscular pains and no energy.
They ended up raising my dosage and detected that I had a large vitamin D deficiency, after several treatments of taking 50,000 units of vitamin D, and also adding my levothyroxine dosage I started feeling better. I still have mood swings here and there, and feel sad periodically, but the last month or so I've been feeling more fine than I have in a long time. They have me on .170 mcg of levothyroxine for two months now. Last week I started getting headaches more frequently, and one of the times I got this nose bleed.
This past weekend I got a headache, and then later that night I had another nose bleed.
I don't usually get nose bleeds or this many headaches so I'm a little concerned.
Also the last time I was getting headaches and constant nosebleeds was when I was really hyperthyroid.
As far as the doctors go, I'm in between insurances and quite honestly I've been frustrated with both my pcp and endocrinologist...
