My daughter is 16 and was given Levaquin 500 for a sinus infection. While on the medication she was tired but not much else in the side effect category. Now here we are 4 weeks later and she has acute abdomen pain, extreme fatigue, nausea, a headache, and she has lost 21 lbs in 2 weeks. I took her to the doctor and they ran a cbc, chem 12, urinalysis, and an electrolyte panel. All came back negative. Basically my perfectly healthy little girl is suffering from this. I went back and looked at the Levaquin packet because I know it can sometimes take a few weeks AFTER medications are stopped for side effects to show themselves and of course, all her symptoms are listed.

As a pediatrician I write for singulair every day.
The medication is for allergies.
Allergies cause adenoidal swelling, which cause sleep disturbances which makes the child tired the next day with makes him over weight, less attentive, hyper and eventually act out.
This in turn makes the child experience parental, peers and teachers criticism/ abuse, with leads to the child feel inadequate, embarrassed, frustrated and eventually depressed and suicidal.
Yes, singulair does cause behavioral change but they appear within the first couple of peels, the rest is due to allergies, lack of medical care, i.e. sleep, singulair, and zyrtec deficiency.
Allergy shots cause 4 times the incidence of suicidally than singulair, and Ritalin 10 times more.
They say in hebrew "once a stone is thrown into a well, thousands of smart people won't find it".
Check it, it's true.

I have been on Yasmin for almost three years. At first it was a miracle. I lost weight, my skin cleared up, and I was sexually active so my fear of pregnancy was lower...fast forward to now...I am not in a committed relationship and if I were I would have a very unhappy partner...NO SEX DRIVE...I am nearing 30 and I am supposed to be at the top of my game...nada. My skin is still pretty good, but I feel bloated all the time...I have gained back the 10 pounds I lost. I workout 5-6 times a week and eat healthy. After three months of being heavier than I could handle I started with a trainer. I have worked so hard and still holding on to this bloat and round feeling. My attitude is lazy...not towards work but towards social...dating, friends...all I do is work, workout (not showing) and watch tv. I do not have motivation for men because I am not even sexually interested...and the emotional would be overwhelming because I do not have any patience for that either. I want my old self back...and after reading all the side effects from coming off the pill I am even nervous to do that. Will I break out, will I gain even more weight...and now I am reading about heart palpitations...and leg cramps (which I have been having lately but only after I have had a drink). Please give me some words of encouragement for throwing out yasmin after this last packet. Is life really better without yasmin or will I be in the same place only with acne???

I have been on Yasmin for about 8 months, although I did not notice any symptoms initially about three months later I was at my MD. having some real trouble w/ anxiety and panic attacks( I was really troubled by this as I never considered myself an anxious person) He wanted to put me on Paxil and I said no- I would find another way to manage. I joined a gym and this helped alleviate some of the symptoms. It was not until I discovered this website that this all is starting to make sense. However my story gets worse before better. About 1 month ago I started with a series of strange symptoms. Perhaps the most troubling was a constant trembling of my hands! I was also experiencing extreme fatigue, dizziness, and lightheadedness, and strange spots in front of my eyes. (this all got worse after I ate for some reason) Back to the MD again who ran 2 tests, thyroid and blood sugar. Nada! he again recommended Paxil!!! I was so disgusted. Mt co-workers convinced me to try getting off of Yasmin just to see if it would help. I am happy to report, 9 days after stopping my symptoms are starting to subside. My symptoms were very scary... I even started w/ heart palpitations!! Doc said"long term stress" please!!! I'm sorry stress is not to blame for everything. GOODBYE YASMIN and GOOD RIDANCE!!!
