Nasty taste symptoms and conditions

I am a 34 year old woman in Texas.My daughter got sick at School and so it spread and we all got it.I have a problem with my spit glands backing up.I don't know the medical term,anyway.I went to my ear nose and throat specialist and he said I had fluid in my ears and had a bad sinus infection so he prescribed me Avelox.This is my fourth day on it.I have noticed every since I started taking it I have a nasty taste in my mouth.My mouth is dry most of the time.But it seemed i felt a little better.I was on the computer talking to my Mother and BAM! Immediately my lymph nodes are very swollen,My neck,there is a huge bump on the right side of my neck,A bump where my wind pipe,I am dizzy,I was trying to write down everything and I kept misspelling everything,It feels at times I am out of my body if that makes any since,The pain is like someone beat the crap out of me and I am bruised all over randomly on different parts of my Body,I keep getting what feels like vibrations in my hands,My eyes at times feel like they are going out and in really fast,I still have extreme whizzing even after using the inhaler,When I cough you can hear stuff in there but it will not come out,I feel like I can't catch my breath,My back feels bruised at my shoulder blades..If I would have seen this site before I took Avalox I would have never taken them.
I feel like we are all just experiments to see what the drug does to different people.There's gotta be something we can do about this.This is not right.We need answers like,What are the long term effects.????
Now I am tired I feel like it has made me so tired but I am to afraid to go to sleep in fear that I won't wake up.I have 3 kids and I am not ready to die.I am suppose to be going to a pep rally tomorrow at my Kids School but instead I will have to spend my time in a Hospital.This is B.S.
I am so happy I found this web site.I thought it was just me.About a year and a half ago they found a mass in my lymph node and the doctor said after I get better he will set me up with another ct scan to see if it has gotten any bigger.It is 2 x the size since I was at the doctor's 4 days ago.This is ridiculous!

I am a single mother of 2 children, I wanted to quit smoking so my doctor said to try Bupropion ER150MG for a 1 week and 3days The first week it was 1 pill a day then 2pills from there on out. The affects hit me the second day it has helped with cutting down on smoking and it makes them taste very plain and nasty. I have these systems/side affects already>feel slow, dry mouth, horrible taste in mouth, food and sodas taste nasty food has nasty taste as well and headaches first week. Very emotional ever since I started taking 2pills, just a thought and I would tear up. Like today this morning I was emotional and around 1o'clock I was Bitchy and irritable. I feel drudged honestly. Totally not me I only get emotional when on my period and Bitchy hardly ever! Sleep well lets say I wake up a couple times every night since I have been on it period. I am a deep sleepier too. I have no clue on what to do if I should give it more time or tell the doctor I'm done? I just want to quit smoking with something thats not going to affect me like this. I have no anger problems or anything like that just smoking. I am actually under weight for my age I don't know if thats why it has affected me so quickly 5'5 and weight 107-109 26yrs old I have not been eating as much as I usually do and have a high metabolism and I seem that I have gained a pd or 2. Don't understand I just think it's mess me all up. I waited an hr or two later to take my next pill tonight and I felt so good like myself, I will also say it seems to leave my system within 9 to 10 hrs it suppose to stay in your system for 12hrs but not me. Provigil so far and made some inhancements in my life. i am diagnosed as:A Narcoleptic\Insomniac,W/Apnea. At this time i am a stay at home mom. //very good for me and my family. b4 the Provigil i couldn't stay awake, sometimes i looked awake, but i surely wasn't((( T H E R E))). nOW I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SOME HYPERSENSITIVY I'M EXPERIANCEING. things like hearing things, and also seeing stuff moving around.
And what's with the horrible, nasty taste of peroxide in my mouth. This comes on after about 1 hour @100mg dose in the AM and progressively gets worse as the day wears on, then comes the 2nd dose 100mg. By this time I feel as if I'm foaming at the mouth. My mouth has sort of like a foam with a strong peroxide flavor. It's horrible. HOW can i get rid of the taste? Should i be looking for a new med?

I am on biaxin xl...2-500mg once a day. started it today and have nasty taste in my mouth, feel like my heart is pounding, mild headache, anxiety, increased salivation, increased urination....this sucks

After 5 days of taking Avelox woke up with a nasty taste in my mouth. It gets worse when I take a breath or lick my lips. It almost tastes like a metallic taste. I can even smell the taste when I breath through my nose. The taste has lasted all day. I also find myself spitting alot and not normal mucas but foamy saliva. It feels like I have some kind of nasty coating all over my teeth. Smoking makes the taste 10 times worse. I was give the 400Mg 5 day dose for bacterial bronchitis. I have had severe musle aches in legs and arms as if I had worked out for first time in years. Tips of elbows painfull if rested on. and sharp pain in left arm.

I went to the doctor's office recently because I was pretty sure I had a sinus infection...and it turns out I did. My doctor prescribed me biaxin and told me that I should stay on this for at least 3 weeks until the infection clears up.. When I first started taking this medication, everything was fine....but now things seem to be worse.. I am on week two of this medicine, and my sinus infection has developed into a terrible cold.. I have a funny smell in my nose(I don't know if it's because of the cold or the medicine) I have an AWFUL metallic taste in my mouth, sometimes I have severe abdominal cramping, and for the last two weeks I've had difficulty sleeping.. I will fall asleep around 12:00 p.m but find myself awake by 4 am and then I have trouble falling asleep(when I do sleep I have terrible nightmares).. Almost every time I wake up in the middle of the night, I have this nasty taste in my mouth... I do find that when I eat certain foods it helps to stop the metallic taste.. I have adhd/ocd and I have noticed that this has gotten much WORSE since I started taking the medicine...I feel space out all the time and dizzy and my vision is blurry.. I have a funny smell in my nose right now and difficulty breathing sometimes.. I am about to call the doctor and find out if I should stop taking this, or just keep taking it for the next 5 days.. I just can't handle it anymore because I feel like I'm going insane.. I don't even know as of now if I still have a sinus infection.. Please do me a favor-if you are considering taking this medication please avoid it at all costs because it will make you feel like complete crap.. There are other medicines that you can take I am sure.. I don't even know why this is on the market....it's worse than the birth control pill!

I was prescribed Biaxin Extended Release, 500 mg/2x daily for 10 days, for a sinus infection. I am on the 5th day, and feel absolutely horrible. The nausea is CONSTANT, I am very tired, headaches, stomach cramping, bad gas, sleeplessness..the list goes on and on. Also, am very emotional. I have a history of depression, but this is a whole new ball game. I cry at almost anything. I called my doctor today to switch to a new antibiotic, and am waiting to hear back.

I started taking Topamax 3 weeks ago. My Neurologist started me on the 25mg dose and gradually moved me up to the 75mg dose. I've had several different side effects. I don't like this medication at all. I want to stop it but I'm afraid because all the web sites say when you stop it you can have seizure's. I have suffered the last 3 years with everyday headache's and would do anything to have relief but cant stand the way this medicine is making me feel. I have felt nausea's for day's. My 3year old has ate more than me. I cry over anything. I'm tired! I've had a headache everyday while on the med's. I have a nasty taste in my mouth. My vision is impaired. I definitely will not stay on this medicine. I would rather deal with my Migraines, then to deal with Migraines and side effects!!!

I took the recommended dose for the first month. I felt really good (except the dreams) Then I suddenly got very depressed, lost feeling in my tongue,could not sleep. I felt horrible and would just go to bed but never really slept like I was in La La land. I cut the dosage in half which helped alittle and eventually cut it to 1/2 pill a day.The headache started then. I quit smoking for 2 months. I felt so depressed I started having 2 cigs a day. I felt less depressed as it was at least something I could look forward to. It has been a month since I stopped taking the Chantix but I still have the nasty taste in my mouth and numb tongue. The stuff works but I don't know that it is worth the side effects. Pizer blames all the side effects on withdraw from the nicotine but I have heard too many horror stories!

It is funny to see so many side effects to Biaxin. I am normally very lightweight on any drug, but Biaxin has been awesome. I have been on it one year or Lyme Disease and co-infection treatment and I love this drug, I sleep like a baby, never had bad aftertaste, ever. Chew gum the say if "metal" taste happens. I would recommend this drug in a second. Just wanted to post something positive, because we are all so different.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this site. I was prescribed Imitrex for my migraines. I got a migraine at work one day and took Imitrex, it made me so sick, I couldnt move, I broke out in a cold sweat, my body started burning, the nasty taste in my mouth and the nausea was worse than the headache. I was so weak, I couldnt find my way to tell anyone I was sick so I could go home and I felt so bad I probably wouldn't have been able to drive anyway. After about 1 1/2 hours, the sick feelings subsided somewhat, and I decided I will never again take another Imitrex. I would rather suffer, and I don't want to ask my doctor for something else, because I don't think I could stomach any more horrific side effects from a new med.

I have been taken Cephalexin for 4 days now, 500mg my pill is red. My side affects are loose bowels, stomach boiling like it maybe upset, and a very bad case of the burps .Although it is hot air that come up. It leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth and almost makes me want to vomit. I also feel as though I could go to sleep every time I sit down .

Yup, all of the above... I have been dizzy, restless at night, nausious, but like you have all said, the worst is the TASTE that is in your mouth all day and night, it tastes like a combination of grass and metal and it gets worse every time I cough (I am taking Biaxin for a very bad lung infection). I wake up in the middle of the night gagging and I have to run to the bathroom to basically drink mouthwash so that it will go away for an hour or so and give me some relief. It is disgusting and if it weren't for the fact that I NEED to get rid of this infection I would definitly stop taking it if only to just get rid of the taste in my mouth.

I've been prescribed biaxin XL before and had no serious side effects. However, I was recently prescribed this antibiotic on 1000mg once a day for seven days. I've experienced diarrhea, vomitting, pain in the chest, sleeplessness. The worst side effect is the nasty taste in my mouth...and the constant vomitting to the point where I can barely swallow my own spit. Totally disgusted with this medication.

i started taking biaxin xl 500 mg for 3 days on the 3rd day i knotice a white spot in my mouth the next day i woke up and knotice i had white spots all on the inside of cheeks and on my tounge it seemed everytime i looked i saw a new cluster form went to the doctor and he said it was a yeast infection in my mouth only other side effect was that i had a realy nasty taste in my mouth i stoped taking the biaxin for it scared me to death when i looked up yeast infection in mouth on the internet

I have been taking imitrex for a few weeks now and it is great. The only side effect is the nasty taste in my throat about 5 minutes after taking it but than my headache is gone and I feel great!

I personally take the imitrex nasal spray. The only side effect that I had was the nasty taste in my mouth about 5 minutes of taking Imitrex. It lasts for about 5 minutes and then the headache and the nasty taste is gone. I really like Imitrex and I plan to keep taking it as needed.

i just started taking a methylpred pack today for a condition called "costochondritis". its this pain in your chest that feels like a heart attack i imagine. i havent even finished the full dose for today and my legs are aching and tired, i feel kinda tired and sluggish and have a nasty taste in my mouth that wont go away....hopefully i dont get worse...we'll see

I had been on 60mgs of prednisone for a month and a half for ITP. Initially it brought my counts up slightly but they crashed back to where they were when I started after a month of the treatment. I did my research, and demanded I be given anti-D treatment (win-rho). My hematologist (blood vampire) gave me it and it brought my counts up considerably. Three weeks later they fell and he won't let me be weaned off the prednisone saying that its jepordizing my counts. The prednisone did not work for me, dropping as it did while on such a high dose. He says he won't advise me to go off the drug nor will he write me a perscription for a tapering dose. I go to a clinic because I'm a poor 23 year old that just graduated from college. This drug has made my life a living nightmare. The first two weeks it gave me severe depression and I did not eat. Gave me horrible mood swings, killer fatigue, joint pain, double vision, skin and acne problems, nasty taste in my mouth, muscle weakness, fat distribution on my stomach, waggy skin, etc. I am so ashamed of my body. I got edema all in one place my stomach one night and I could barely breathe and my heart was pumping so hard. It stretched out my stomach permanently and gave me stretch marks. I have gained 17 lbs dispite following a strict diet - I went off sugar and watched my salt and carb intake. My idiot of a doctor won't let me get off this drug from hell. I am so miserable and depressed. I basically threw any chance away of growing into a healthy person when I am older, I think. I think that because of this drug I am facing irrepairable damage. I am not even married or have children and yet who knows what damage it is doing to my reproductive system. If I knew what I knew now, I would never put that drug in my body, or I would have never even seen anybody for my disease, I would rather bleed to death. This drug should be taken off the market. It's handed out like it is candy. If I was just given the safest treatment for my disorder (anti-d) and seen that it worked then I would have never had to gone through this. But preds are nice and cheap let's give it to a 23 year old and ruin her life. What do they care what it does to me? They ignore me, even after telling them it made me suicidal. I feel like a shell of a person and haven't been myself since. I'll either have to find another doctor or taper myself off which I hear isn't too good since I'm on 20mg pills and can't accurately measure a taper. I'm lookin foward to premature aging with prednisone.

My doctor prescribed me Guaifenex for a sinus infection along with trimethobenx for upset stomach along with advair ( a powder inhaler) never knew why she prescribed all of this medication just for a sinus infection. I stopped taken the advair an experienced shortness of breath, bad headaches, but one things for sure I only eat one meal a day. Oh by the way I can't sleep at night and extremely tired in the morning to start the cycle all over again the next day. It leave a very nasty taste in my mouth i'm constantly brushing my tongue it leave a coating on it. The drainage I can never cough up and my ears has been clogged since I started these meds. I take tylenol pm just to sleep. Something to think about before taking this medication. You get it for a sinus infection but end up with a headache.

Had the following reported: "My mother was treated for cystitis with a strong course of antibiotics back in october & since then has not been able to eat certain foods(such as nuts, chocolate, strong tea, fruit) without a nasty taste in her mouth & sometimes blistering on her lips. No help from her doc & is thoroughly miserable.Any ideas as to combat this ?"

HUNGER..i ate a 7/11 big bite for breakfast the otehr day!! GROSS!! also pms'ing though. Nasty nasty taste in my mouth, anxiety, heart palps, the works. quitting it and azmacort, cant deal, back to epinephrine and herbal cures (clear lung)
