My four old son has been on singulair for about two weeks. The change from wheezing/coughing attacks at night and terrible allergies during the day has been amazing. They are almost non-existent to this point a great plus. However, a i stress however his behavior and speech has been VERY INAPPROPRIATE and quite frankly it concerns me. He now states "im a bad boy" and "i dont listen" and his mornings are very testy to say the least. Granted these sound like normal 4 yr. old sayings that he would pick up from other children on the playground but how do you explain them happening almost simultaneously with his taking singulair. I find it very hard to believe that it is a coincidence and that these are normal things for a 4 yr old to say/do when all other things have remained the same. My advice is to diligently watch your child for these warning signs and find other remedies if you have reservations. Im not promoting natural cures but i am leaning toward a diet change for the whole family and consulting my doctor for food allergen testing. I hope this helps. Be Well.

I was told to take Singulair by my doctor to help with my allergies and asthma. We trust what they tell us to take, I had a HORRIBLE experience with this medicine my mind was always racing, I was mean, and I HATED LIFE, and I never had these problems before. I thought my husband and I were just having stress problems with money, bills, etc. I stopped taking the medicine three months ago only because we couldnt' afford to get it. I pray and thank god for that because we almost ended up in a divorce and I have noticed A HUGE DIFFERENCE since I haven't been taking it. I have my patience back and I am not angry. My prayers and thoughts go out to ANYONE who has lost someone because of this, I do know how they felt, GOD BLESS you all!!!! This proves my husbands point...... DON'T TAKE ANY MEDICINE!!!!!! EVER!!!! TRY natural CURES!!!! You NEVER know what your taking!!! God bless you all!!!!

Be very wary of this drug! My son was on it for a year and a half ...the last six months were a veritable nightmare for him. Severe anxiety issues (had to be hospitalized at one point ) and depression. Doctors kept saying it was not the medication but when I googled the drug side effects and stumbled on a blog about singulair problems , I told my son and off the medication he went. Within a month he was back to his normal self .
Thank goodness he was old enough to tell me how he was feeling ( 17 years old at the time) but what about very young children on this drug...how can they voice their problems when they don't have the vocabulary or knowledge of what is "normal"?

I'm 50 years old. Have been on beta blockers for at least 10 years. Recently I developed a wheezing and then got the cold from hell. I was referred to a lung specialist who asked me to stop taking Toprol-XL immediately as it was causing me to wheeze and have shortness of breath. I stopped taking Toprol and the wheezing stopped. I'm still coughing though. I hope it goes away soon. I think I'm going to look into natural cures for my hypertension. These meds have too many side effects.

I HAD been on Advair for almost 2 years. Like the young man before me I thought it was a godsend then my voice started changing. I have to keep clearing my throat because there is a mucus like substance on it all thetime. My "casual" singing career is now over because i can't hit any notes, and that was after constantly rinsing. they wanted to put me on the 250 and I threw the prescription away. I have decided to go with the natural cures from chetday.com....

Yes, I reported my side effects to the FDA as well as to Berlex. its really important to do so. I don't know how else we'll get this off the market. I've been horrified with how many and how horrible they have suffered. It is disgusting actually. I am 2/3 reading Kevin Trudeau's book on Natural Cures-and honestly at first I thought it just wreaked of Conspiracy Theory and now, I am learning that so much of what he's documenting is true! For example-CODEX-this will take all our vitamins and natural supplements and make them only available through and by prescription! Talk about monopoly. I hear that this is already the case in Europe and has been for some time. It means, you will need a prescription for Vitamin C! And it will be costly!

Now after reading through all of this. After suffering personally the last 9 months, after seeing how many women's symptoms are similar and all of them being told by their Doctors that it could not be Yasmin-I AM CONVINCED! The RN I just saw tried to get me to take Nexium which is also on www.worstpills.org website. In addition to Yasmin. I was so mad. I know this isn't Heartburn. Not when the heart murmur started. I am starting to think the entire medical community thinks all women are morons telling eveyrone its stress and anxiety--totally discounting our symptoms. I've come across 5 articles now on heart disease and women and all 5 expressedly talk about just this-how women are not taken seriously ---misdiagnosed 3 to 5 times and after costly exams, trips to the ER-they actually have heart attacks. Pisses me off. More than that, there are/have been moments at night when I lie awake and think about all of you, wondering what part of the world you are in, how this has effected your quality of life, all our abilities to trust, our familes, our work....and finding your responses during stressful times is so uplifting. I pray for each and everyone of you. I'm sickened that this drug-Yasmin and now its sister Yaz ever made it to the market. Based upon a couple of other's women's entries, I would join an effort to bring lawsuit.

The American Medical Association is currently working to pass a law to make it even more difficult to sue the pharmaceutical companies....nice huh?

On Lipitor for about 10 years. Starting getting numbness in fingers and arms and upper shoulder. About the same time experienced weekness in arms and legs. Had to stop jogging as my legs were very weak. Lots of night leg cramps. Had an MRI which showed hernited cervical disk. Doctor had me go to rehab which accomplished nothering. Went to chiropractor who took more xray's and showed degenerative arthritis. She indicated she did not think the muscle deterioration was due to any of these problems and noted I had been on Lipitor. She was shocked that the doctor didnt consider this as the culprit. I stopped taking the Lipitor about a month ago. Have had no improvement. Doctors try to get me to take prednisone, mobic, and celebrex. I have refused them all and am going to check out natural cures. I am concerned about the fact that I read the muscle deterioration may not be reversible. It has even afftect the way I walk. I can hardley walk in a straight line. If ever stopped for an alcohol test I would probably be arrested for dui.

In 2000, a week before my wedding, my father came to visit and mentioned leg weakness, pain in his lower back, and tiredness. I asked if he had been doing anything different recently that would explain these symptoms. He thought about it and said the only change was that he'd started taking Lipitor. We finished up preparation for my wedding which included my father's fitting for his tux and shoes...that week, he had to take a size 11 shoe (his normal shoe size for the past 40 years was 9m. My wedding day arrived and he could barely walk me the 30 ft up the isle. Exactly a week to the date of my wedding, my father passed away from what I was told was a massive heart attack. He had never been diagnosed with heart problems only elevated cholesterol. Unfortunately, my mother, in her time of sorrow, did not request an autopsy but assumed one would be done before the hospital transferred my father to the funeral home. My father was cremated and we then found out no autopsy had been performed.

Last week, my cardiologist placed me on Lipitor for high cholesterol. She explained that there are about six other medications but that most of them were statins. After dose three, I'm having lower back pain but haven't yet experienced any leg pain. When I discussed this with my pharmacist, she thought leg pain would be the first sign of my having a problem so told me to hang in with the medication until my appointment with my cardiologist this week.

Is anyone else experiencing low back pain? It feels like a pull or even a cold in my back.

I am so appalled to read these sad stories as to what has happened to their loved ones while taking Lipitor (or, for that matter, any drug! I was lucky though. My doctor put me on Lipitor but only took it every other day. I'm not one that believes in medicines unless it's an emergency. I go by how my body feels. Well, did not respond well to Lipitor. Starting to forget names, places, and even got lost driving in my own neighborhood. I'm 55 yrs old.

What ashame. I now do not take anything except for red wine vinegar and honey (mix it together) and swallow that. Just in a shot glass. You only need a little. Do it maybe once every two weeks. But everyone needs to read this fantastic book by Kevin Trudeau. It's about natural cures and how all these pharmaceutical companies & doctors do not want us to know about what he (Trudeau) has to say.

Believe me, read this book and see what he has to say! It could save your life.

I started taking Levaquin for UTI on June 25th. I've had recurring UTIs since 1998 and since then have been on macrobid, bactrim, and cipro. I still had some macrobid and bactrim left, so I took a dose before I went to the ER on June 25th. I waited four hours before they saw me, and when I told the doctor about the antibiotics I've been on, he concluded that they probably weren't working for me anymore. So he prescribed a 7-day round of Levaquin, once a day. It's now the 29th, and just yesterday I woke up with my feet aching and today I woke up with aching hands. I've also experienced the frequent urination, but assumed it was due to the UTI until I saw this site. I have three more pills left, and am having a hard time deciding whether I should finish them or not. I'm frustrated and desperate to end my recurring UTIs, as I've had issues with them for MANY years, but at the same time, I don't want to have more health problems added by taking Levaquin. It's like being a cancer patient, suffering the consequences of chemo/radiation. Sure, it'll kill some cancer cells, but it'll also damage your other organs. I lost my father that way. I don't want to go through the same thing with this UTI issue and the antibiotics I've been taking for years. Sometimes I just want to stop them altogether, and look for natural cures instead. I feel like it's done a lot of damage to me already. And every doctor I see (and I've seen about 12 by now) tells me the same thing, and just gives me a bottle of pills to "shut me up." I wish they would actually do tests that look internally (ultrasounds, cystoscopy) to determine what the actual problem is instead of stuffing me full of antibiotics. No one should be getting recurring UTIs this often.
