I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been taking Reglan since i was about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant after being admitted for sever dehydration and hypermesis(i think the two are the same) I was having severe nausea and vomiting and couldn't keep water or food down and i was to the point where i didn't want to eat anything. This is my 3rd pregnancy and this is the longest that I had to deal with these symptoms. I was on phenergan anal suppository and Zofran which was supposed to stop the nausea and allow me to eat which at first it kept me sleeping. After i was admitted in high risk unit they gave me Reglan and took me off of the Zofran and phenegan and put me on potassium and reglan along with benadryl. Nothing has stopped the vomiting it has gone down but not subsided. I have been out of work and has advised the doctor that it isn't working and they still want me to take this pill. I don't think that it is safe to be on so many medications which my doctor wants me to take the zofran again. I am spiritual and there has been two many times where my meds have gone missing and i have been put in the position where i can't afford to buy more. i think it is a sign and i just keep having this bad feeling about the baby taking all these pills. My tongue numb sometimes. my sleep pattern is of i have fatigue at night and am tired through out the day. I am more paranoid than ever. I am going back to work and will just suffer the natural symptoms i have done with my other children. Taking prescription drugs during pregnancy is just not natural and i will not sacrafice my child for promise of only suppressed symptoms for my child any longer.

My daughter was taking Yaz as a predecessor to going on Acutane for acne. After a couple months began having severe nausea and vomiting which we thought was due to the Acutane (it is known to have potentially powerful side effects) so we took her off of that treatment. The nausea and vomitting increased to the extent that she had MRI, sonogram, and ultimately colonoscopy and endoscopy to determine if there was cancer, etc. All tests were totally clean...so doctors said it must be in her head. She was also having significant mood swings and almost a paranoia. That is when I sat down and tracked back to as early as I could the initial slight nausea symptoms occurred. Determine it started at the same time as this BCP. Looked up the message boards and was horrified to see what young women were going through. I immediately told her to stop taking the drug. Within one week, my daughter could eat again and her spirits were lifted. Nice to have her back after thousands of dollars in medical tests. Very frustrating that the doctors, who knew her prescriptions, did not see the potential. Because of this and another prescription issue, I will severely consider whether I or anyone in my family will use the 'latest and greatest' drug. Will ask for what has been tried and true.

I took 1 pill (100mg) Doxycycline HCl, went to bed, slept very groggy, exhausted. Next day, second pill, 1 hr later feeling nauseated, then severe migraine headache, thew up, felt like in a severe fever. This lasted about 5 hours then reduced to exhaustion, dizziness with some heartburn. It was intolerable. I also felt very depressed and negative.

One website describing a patent for a different formulation of Doxycycline reported that 31% of patients taking this experience nausea and vomiting.

Why is this drug so frequently prescribed?

Stop taking this drug if you have side effects.
After doing a little research it seems that the "Hyclate" formulation has many side effect problems. The other formulations (monohydrate or carrageenan) may be better. The Hyclate formulation is very rapidly absorbed and is acidic and can cause local damage to the stomach or esophagus. Some report these symptoms on this website. Also it seems foolish for this to be in capsule form, since this increases the rapidity of dissolving and probably also local damage. The drug is 'good' in that it stays in your system a long time and brings your body to a high amount of antibiotic rapidly.

I have never had a bad reaction to an antibiotic before. I'm glad this website allows for these reports.

I am not sure if Vytorin is the cause. I saw the doctor today. I have taken Vytorin approximately 5 months. The past 3 months I have sever nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, frequent headaches, aches and pains in joints. I have lost 20 lbs. Sweaty palms and feet, chills to burning up.I am exhausted and depressed. Some slight lower abdomen pain. It is difficult to even leave the house. I saw the Dr. today and he hardly recognized me. I have no idea what is wrong, but today I stopped Vytorin. If it turns out to be Vytorin I will post it immediately.

I started taking Levaquin on Thursday October 4 for a sinus/throat infection. 5 days later and I feel wired out of my mind. Strange thoughts, increased energy intertwined with panic, wrist/hip pain, very little sleep. Severe stomach pain, constipation, nausea and vomiting, gagging reflex. Also mouth sores, and terrible taste in mouth. This has me very concerned. I am grateful that this isn't my imagination. Thanks for this forum. Why is this drug still on the market. Karen in Winnipeg, Canada

I'm a 37 y/f that has had three children. I took bc way back when in my teen years but never needed it again till now. I've been on the pill 7 days. I was wondering how often anyone gets really bad nausea and vomiting with this pill? I've been sick everyday. I was advised to take the pill before I went to bed and to make sure I had some type of heavy protein to stick in my stomach while i was sleeping to calm the nausea... But that has not worked. within 4 hours of waking i'm feeling very nauseated... 90 percent and will get "ill" each night before I go to work. At first I thought it was a stomach bug... doc said I could expect some nausau but didn't want to switch me for the first month. Will this nausau feeling go away? It's very hard for me to do my job and be sick alot. Anyone have suggestions? I have nausau, vomitting, stomach pains and major acidity in my stomach. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I started the NuvaRing 2 days ago and since reading this site I have just run to the bathroom and swiped the thing out as fast as I could.
I did not really want to go to another form of hormonal birth control as I have had some severe side effects in the past on the Pill (Loette 28), which I took for seven years. I had no idea that all the symptoms I was having had anything to do with the Pill until I decided to stop taking it about 8 months ago. Since then, I have been a new person, according to my boyfriend. I no longer feel depressed, sad, anxious, or have severe nausea and vomiting. It's sad to think that for seven years I was doing so much damage to my body and my mind because of this.
The one other thing I noticed being off the Pill was an increase in yeast and vaginal infections. I have also been having abnormal PAP smears and have since discovered that I have mild dysplaysia.
So I went to the doctor and he told me that if I go back on the Pill or the NuvaRing, he thinks it might help the yeast infections. I was really skeptical and have been putting it off for months, but finally, I inserted it 2 days ago. The very first day I was having symptoms: Severe headaches (I NEVER get headaches!), nausea, depression, and the worst heart palpitations and dizziness I have ever felt!! I felt weird, like something was taking control of my body. Anyway, after trying to eat something last night and feeling queasy throughout the meal and then vomiting for the first time in 8 months, I am convinced that this is not me!!! It is the NUVARING!!!
Two days was enough for me- I am not going to wait it out this time. I want to be hormone free! If you really think about it, how can putting your body in a constant state of pregnancy be healthy?? We are not made for that. It is completely unnatural!!! We are inevitably playing with fire here.
My advice to any women out there? Seriously watch for ALL symptoms you are having with the Ring or any Pill and if there are any that are similar to this site, then please try and go off it and see what you feel. You may feel like a different person, like I did!!
Good Luck

I am so glad that I found this site, and I don’t feel like I’m going crazy anymore! I’m 22 and had been taking Yasmin for 2 years. About two months into taking Yasmin I began having unexplained migraines for days that would not go away. I was prescribed medication for my migraines, and it didn’t help. Then, I became depressed and would cry about everything. I also became moody and would yell at everybody for no reason at all. I was also tired all the time and was constantly having hot flashes. I also had terrible nausea and vomiting with Yasmin. I vomited almost every night for two months! The worst symptom of all though, was panic attacks that almost put me in the hospital one time. I finally looked up the side effects of Yasmin and thankfully found this site. I have been off Yasmin for two weeks now, and already I feel like myself again! I have more energy, and I am no longer moody or sick to my stomach. I have also not had a migraine and I even feel more clear headed. Yasmin destroyed my relationship with my fiancé and I’ll never get that back. Hopefully, other woman will see this and stop taking Yasmin before it ruins their relationships. I thank all of you woman who shared your stories! I felt so much better after reading them.

I had been taking Zocor for 10 days when I woke up in the night with heart palpitations, wobbly legs, a severe headache and dizziness. Shortly afterwards, my legs began to twitch on their own and cramped up. This happened several nights in a row. Then the twitching spread into my arms and neck. My muscles became very sore, then weak to the point where I couldn't stand up long enough to take a shower or get out of bed without help. Thankfully after being off of Zocor for 3 weeks I am getting some of my strength back, but I am plagued with a constant headache and dizziness, sometimes nausea and vomiting. Tests for muscle enzymes, liver damage, etc. have all come back with normal results. I am 21 years old and Zocor has made me feel about 75. Like others on this site my doctor did not think the problems had anything to do with the Zocor, but helpfully suggested I try incorporating more fat into my diet.

Can anyone tell me from experience how long I can expect these side effects to last? I've been out of work for 3 weeks and can't go back until I stop feeling dizzy and can stand up/walk for a full 8 hours.

hi all,
just wondered if anyone has had problems with NR after a long period of use? I have been on the ring for 2 years, without a problem. I felt like i had finally found the perfect contraceptive! Then, out of the blue my periods changed- severe cramping and bloating, nausea and vomiting and diarehha (sp?) I called my doc and her response was that it was a side effect of hormornal birth control. She said to leave the ring in and have fewer periods... less times a year that I am that miserable. To me, this seems like a horrible solution. Anyone else out there have a similar experience? What have you done to make it better?

Sever stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting from day one of treatment. I keep taking it as nothing else helps my severe bronchitis in the winter. None of the drugs which have an infinity for the lungs. bactrim, cipro, etc. help at all. Question i have to decide with each bronchial illness is, which is worse, the disease or the treatment?

I have been taking Yasmin for about two weeks now. I have taken other BCPs before with no bad effects. The last week I have been extremely depressed with suicidal thoughts and EXTREME nausea and vomiting, migraine, and very irritable mood. I thought it was another medicine I was taking but I quit that medicine and am still having bad side effects. The other medicine has only a 6 hour half life, so I am starting to wonder if the Yasmin could be causing this. I wonder if anyone else has experienced the nausea and vomiting.

I am sure that several women have had positve experiences with Yasmin however, mine has been the polar opposite. I only started taking it five days ago however I have experienced severe nausea, and vomiting. I feel shakey and dizzy and I have turned into a very moody and angry person. I feel confused and tearful throughout the morning and have not slept a full night since I began taking it whcih makes me a zombie at work. I have experienced bloating and extreme back pain as if I am going through PMS. I will stop taking Yasmin today.

I have experienced severe pain at injection site along with awful nausea and vomiting the first few weeks following the injections; unsightly rash/acne over neck, chest and shoulders that is taking over a month to clear; irregular and quite heavy menstruation...even midcycle... equaling three periods in 6 weeks. Palpitations sent me to my primary care md. These side effects have been an insult to injury and embarrassing. The rash has left scars and the constant bleeding has left me exhausted and a little scared. I use an SPF on my face...maybe why it was spared from the breakout. I told my orthopod about the breakout and he and his assistant laughed at me pretty much and said they never ever heard that before. I have been in to see my OBGYN, last week, and will speak to her soon about the likely correllation between Kenalog and my heavy/irregular and never ending periods. I did not make the OBGYN connection until after I read some testimonials. I was going to have some pretty uncomfortable obgyn tests done and they would have been in vain. It sounds like the pharm reps selling Kenalog...or a generic brand...have not been educating their docs on these awful and life changing side effects. I feel that the physicians choosing to use a specific corticosteroid should informl every patient what it is exactly they are injecting into them. Each woman shoud be told of the potential menstrual irregularities and major inconvenience. My husband and I have been trying to conceive and now it seems impossible.

I lowered the dose after 2 days and stopped the medicine after five days. It has now been 1 week since she took her first dose and she is still having nausea and stomach cramps when she gets up in the morning

I started taking trimethoprim for a bladder infection on 29.12.05. It gave me the most severe headache nausea and vomiting and total restlessness!! I needed to drink plenty because of the infection but couldn't keep anything down. I only took three but when I stopped the effect gradually wore wore off I was so relieved and felt so much better! I think I must have been allergic. How is it cultered???? The cure was far worse than the actual infection which was bad enough.
