i have arthritis in my right knee. my knee cap was chewing up my knee joint causing a grinding and clicking noise.
i got a cortizone shot and it hurt like crazy for about 10 minutes.
20 hours post shot my heart is racing like i was terrified, my knee is swollen, and i am nautious, but the pain is at a minimum. the doctor told me to take it easy though because i still have arthritis. this just lubricates it. but if i exercise too much it could send me right back to square one.

It works wonders for my migraines if you take it at the first sign. The downside is that it makes you VERY SLEEPY. However, I would rather have that then the headache. There were only a few times it did not work but I caught the migraine too late..Imitrex (SR) made me nauseous.

The first b.c pill my doctor put me on was Yaz and that was a complete nightmare for three months. I felt nautious everyday and my mood went psycho. I cant tell you how many times I flipped out on my family and boyfriend. I also was beginning to feel symptoms of anxiety attacks and it was then that I asked my doctor to switch me to another pill. Well, she switched me to Loestrin 24 and I've been on it for a week. I know that it is too early to tell how it will work out for me but after reading all of the responses I'm beginning to freak out. Yaz was horrible for me and I am hoping that Loestrin 24 will be better, especially since I told my doctor the anxiety and moodiness I had with Yaz. So far I have only experienced a bit more acne than usual and my stomach is upset sometimes. I also have been spotting a bit and had cramps which felt like menstraul cramps to me...which is weird considering I definitly won't be getting my period for another few weeks. My boobs are sore, but not too bad- i wish i had the growth side effects others are getting haha! Well, hope everything works out well and I'll keep updating.

i started taking doxy for acne. so far my acne is if anything, worse, and last night i woke up around 2 am due to severe heartburn. i made myself puke because i felt so nautious, then quickly ate some food and drank a lot of water with the assumption that it would make me feel better (last time i got nautious with this medication food solved the problem) but this morning i still have bad heartburn.

alrighty, well this is day 7 of taking yasmin and i've been feeling ill all week, but just thought my body had to get used to the pill after being pill free for the past 2 years. so when i got home tonight and had butt pee i figured it was botulism, looked it up, and NOPE that's not it. came on here and read all of your lovely stories.......and now i'm freaked out.
i've not had much of an appetite this past week, which is weird, since i love to eat. i've had butt pee now 3 days of the 7 i've been on it, i've felt nautious like i was going to throw up (as though i'd drank a few shots of jack or something). i have no desire to have sex, which i don't want to effect my soon to be marriage.
i think i'm going to finish out this pack and throw in the towel, i didn't even want to get on the pill in the first place. the doctor said "do you want to get pregnant? cuz if all you're using is condoms, you're going to get pregnant". yeah screw him, i can't do this, this is exactly why i didn't want on the pill. the boyfriend can just continue to invest in trojan....

Dear flower babies.
i have only onepiece of advice GET OFF THIS POISON NOW before it kills you. i wsa going through everything you have said and more and it got worse and worse. I was on ysamin for 3 years only experiencing like you did after a while not straight away. I have been off yasmin now since nov 05 and its been a low haul and many times i just wanted to lay down and die and yet i came back to this site each and very day and got encouragement from those around here who had been there. Get off now and start regaining your life again. I would get on a good mulitvitamin immediately and some magnesium to help rebuild all htat has been deplete. Its not going to be easy but start now and in time you will be able to cope with your children again i know i have 3 and it was so hard in the beginning and now its getting better even though i still have those bad days but more good than bad.

I have been taking Yasmin for 2 weeks now. After about 3 days of switching to Yasmin from Ortho-Tri Lo, I noticed a itchy rash spreading all over my body. I didnt even think this had to do with the Yasmin. I also started to notice shortness in breathe, trouble falling asleep, and acid reflux, none of which I had ever experienced before. Still at this point I did not believe they were all related. I went to my MD to find out what the rash spreading all over my body was, he wasn't sure what it was either. He gave me a steroid pack and figured it would clear up on its own. Now, 9 days later, the rash is still here and I am getting new symptoms. Now I'm extremely nautious and dizzy. I have missed a week of work due to these issues. I just today found this web site and figured all these symptoms must be related. I called my gyno and explained to him my problems, he told me to stop taking Yasmin immediately. I hope these symptoms will stop now that I stopeed taking the pills. Lets hope so at least.......I am glad I found this site it helped me alot

Hi,
I started takin Yasmin only 4 days ago. I'm having really bad nausia. I'm not actually throwing up, but just nautious. I'm also very very tired. These symptoms are very similar to the first few months of pregnancy. I know I'm not pregnant because I haven't been with anyone in several years, but I do have a child, so I know what its like. I'm not sure if this is something that will pass or if I should get off now while its still early.
Thanks,
Aimee

I am taking Zpak for strep throat. I was treated with it because I am 23 and have had strep throat/ear infections very frequently lately and the other antibiotics do zip for me. I also work in child care, and wish to get my tonsils out ASAP! The first day I had eaten nothing all day, except for drinking water. (Because my doctors office sent me to the ER, they thought I had menengitis. I DID NOT!) The medication said may take with or without food... DO TAKE WITH FOOD. Even the CVS pharmacist said so after my boyfriend called and said that I had thrown up from it. Eat with it. It has made me 1) Throw up, 2) Feel Nautious, 3) Have Diarrhea, 4) Not Feel Better Yet. It's day 4 and I better feel better soon!!! Also, I was told these are not allergic reactions. If you don't need this medication, ask for SOMETHING ELSE!!

I have been taking Effexor for around 2 to 3 years for depression. I am currenty taking two 150 mg at night, though I was told to take one in the morning and one at night... I found it easier to take them both at night. The only side effect I am sure comes from the Effexor is the reduction in my libido (and I am female). Effexor is the only anti-depressant I have been on, and I think I got extremely lucky in that I found the one that works for me on the first try. I also see a psycho-therapist, and between the two, I feel I have managed to get a better hold on my life. I am a thirty-five year old mom (married, and with a seven-year-old daughter) and I have "almost" nothing but praise for Effexor.
HOWEVER, I do know that the withdrawal side effects are terrible... I have missed it for up to three days when I went out of town and forgot my medication. I can usually miss one day and the side effects will most likely just be a bad headache, and maybe a little nautious. But when I missed three doses:
Missing one dose at night: I had a headache the following day.
After missing two doses: The headache became worse, I would occasionally get dizzy spellls, and I started getting very emotional - swaying between sad and cranky.
After missing third dose: The headache became worse still, and was aggravated by light - I wanted to just keep my eyes closed. I felt dizzy and nautious - nautious to the point I couldn't tell if I was going to throw-up (never did).
Oh... and I should add that the dreams while I was off the medication were incredible... like watching movies... so detailed and complex. I usually don't remember my dreams... but these I could recall... not in perfect detail... but they were amazing.
After I got back home and took my dose that night: I missed three days of work while being back on the medication. I was nautious, had a terrible headache, wanted to just stay in bed, I was no longer ultra sensitive emotional-wise - but I was ultra-pissed-off. I became very angry that I was on a medication that was addictive after having been told it was "not addictive". I was angry that I have never had an addiction before, but now suddenly I was addicted to a prescribed drug. I don't smoke, I only drink a couple of alcholic drinks in a month (socially), no canabis (pot... is that an out-dated term? ... everyone here says canabis), or any other illegal or legal addictive drugs... the only other drugs I take are allergy (Clarinex) and birth control (Nuva Ring), neither of which are addictive.
That whole experience was months ago, and now that I have had time to calm down and get a clear perspective on the situation... I wouldn't stop taking Effexor for just being addictive... and YES... it is addictive... I don't give a rat's ass what any "expert" says about it. If you can't stop taking something without your body freaking out... then IT IS ADDICTIVE.
I don't know that I will ever be able to stop the medication. I go back and forth as to how I feel about this. At times it bothers me being so dependant on a medication... but on the other-hand, I'm dependant on the allergy medication, and that doesn't bother me, so why should I let being dependant on an anti-depressant bother me? Who cares what everybody else thinks, right? - - Boy, that's loaded...
Effexor has helped me tremendously. My thoughts about death are very infrequent. I don't feel like crawling into a hole and disappearing all the time. I have found "my voice" with the help of this drug and my therapist to voice my opinions more often to help me from not feeling so trapped and helpless in situations. It does cut down on emotional sensations... I don't feel overwhelming sad at all the terrible things I hear on the news. And I don't cry at sappy commercials and movies any more (Thank you!). For the first time, I feel much more in control of my feelings and my life.
So, I can understand the anger in a lot of these postings, but I would like to add, that I don't think the people who have benefited from Effexor are posting here. They have no reason to be looking for this site. I found this site when I had been angry over finding out it was habit-forming. I believe Effexor has probably helped a lot of people - and it isn't an "evil" drug... it's just a drug. For some, it just isn't the right drug.
I should add, that I'm on here today because I've recently started experiencing night sweats, but I wasn't sure if it was a side effect of Effexor or not. I hope that it is a side effect of Effexor and not a symptom of menopause... cripes... I'm only 35! The first site that popped up after searching under "Nightsweats" was about nightweats being a symptom of perimenopause or menopause... ugh!
But if I have to weigh the benefits I have experienced using Effexor, with the downfalls: addictive, sexual side-effects, and maybe night sweats... I still am of the mind that it is a good drug for me.
I wish all of you luck in finding what helps you most to be happy with your life.

Hi,
I am a 28 year old male diagnosed with "accute sinusitis" and "seasonal" allergies. My ENT put me on Singulair after numerous attempts at other drugs, including, Allegra D, Allegra 180, Clarinex, and Zyrtec. I have mild nerves and anxiety as it is but since I have been on Singulair, I have been fatigued, weak, nautious, no appetite, depressed, more anxious, more nervous , tingling in my face and skin and tightness in my chest. I am freaking out thinking I am dying of stomach cancer or heart disease and I can barely function. These symptoms/side effects started 4 days after starting Singulair. Someone out there please tell me I am normal and that if I stop taking this I will feel better because I cannot go on like this much longer. It is helping my allergies and my ears but I'd rather live with stuffy ears and nose compared to the side effects.

Hello Ladies,
This is an update to my post from April 21 #5317. After calling my Gyn, she immediatly took me off Yasmin and put me on Othro Tri Cyclen Lo without me even having to go in. Within the first few DAYS of being off Yasmin, I was nearly 100% better. My sexdrive came back, I started SMILING again! I don't fall asleep in the middle of the day and I'm actually getting up before 2pm on my days off. I'm no longer depressed at all, I have the energy to work out and I am back to feeling like myself again. I haven't broken out at all or had headaches or been nautious. Now that's what I call a miracle.
It's been almost 2 months now and I am so much happier. Granted, I had some side-effects when starting the new pill, but I'll take a little heartburn over near-suicidal bouts of depression any day of the week! I just wanted to update to let you all know not to let this evil product scare you off of all forms of the pill. Yasmin is the problem, not you, and there's plenty out there to try that will not suck the life blood out of you.
Be well, Ladies!

After reading all these posts it finally makes sense. DO NOT take this pill. I have been headachy and nautious and extremely depressed for the 3 months Ive been on it. I cry at the drop of a hat and I cant remember the last time I was happy. Ive had a migraine every day and feel like puking. I thought it was just me! I am so glad I found this site. I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen before and besides a little weight gain I NEVER felt this awful. Dont take Yasmin!

I am an extremely healthy 27 year old male and was prescribed Levaquin for an abscessed tooth that had broken off. I requested Zythromax as I had had great success with it before, but was told by the doc that this was much better at treating what I had. So of course I took his word for it and got the medicine. I actually left the pharmacy and had almost decided not to buy it because it was so expensive, but I really wanted to get rid of the abscess. I went back and shelled out the 110 dollars for 10 pills and started day one. Had very minimal side effects and thought that it was just maybe the infection which had brought several adverse reactions itself. After sleeping way into the next night, I woke up at 4am and took my second pill. Needless to say, the next day was probably one of the top three worst days of my life as far as health goes. I had the worst headache of my life, VERY nautious, extreme sweats followed by chills, even in a hot house-with no fever, and my only relief was to sleep which brought on very bad dreams. When I would wake back up I literally thought I was going to die and even hoped to at one point I felt so bad. Maybe this doesn't happen to everybody, but I wanted to let SOMEBODY out there know that they ARE NOT crazy if they experience any of this. Dont be scared by the "you have to take them all" phrase you hear from your doc. STOP immediately if you experience this.

I've been on this thing for about 3 days. I've been feeling nautious since the first day, but at first it would be mild & would go away within a few minutes. Tonight I'm lying in bed, dying with stomach pains, not cramps, intense stomach pains. Nausea...... stomach pains again. Nausea..... pain again. I ran to the bathroom like 5 or 6 times to puke and eventually gave up. I look like a freaking whale, too. I'm a little 110lb girl but I've gained easily a few pounds in the past few days and it shows. My dad slapped me on the stomach today & asked me if it was "a new addition to the family." My lower stomach area is all bloated. Just sitting here I can feel my stomach churning. Anyone else feeling my stomach pains? I mean really.
