Hello! After a 3 1/2 day stay in the hospital for atrial Fibb. which has since gone away and was likely cuased by extreme low blood potassium and sodium which has since been brought to all but normal levels.. I was taken off of Plavix a blood thinner which I had been taking since a heart attack in 2003, and put on the Warfarin, that was on June 22nd that I began taking Warfarin/Coumadin!. About 2 weeks ago I began having neck and shoulder pain, then slowly side and back pains deep down in the muscles. It is much worse in laying down position, have a hard time to sleep well, and if I trun or move while lying down the pain is very intense. I am going to assk the Dr. to take me off of the Warfarin and put me back on Plavix so I can see it it is the reason for the pains. I am quite sure it is! Please reply if you have the same symptoms as I do! Thanks, B.E.

Wow, I got on the internet this morning looking got side effects of advair b/c I mail ordered my script so i've been without for a few days. i have been experiencing severe neck pain, thought I slept on my neck wrong, but it's still here after 3 days. I have been on Advair 100/50 for 6 years, and have now worn glasses for 3 years, on nerve blocker medication for neck and shoulder pain, horrible heart palpitations, but I've never thought these things related to the Advair until recently. I've been asthmatic all my life and thought Advair was a lifesaver, but always had some concerns. I knew any medication could not be safe for life, and after 6 years. I'm really starting to pay a price.

I had a 10 mg. shot of Kenalog for my neck and shoulder pain.I got the shot in the left shoulder My face has been red and burning. I sweat really bad .and have a very bad headache.I would have rather suffered from my pain then go thru this. I wasn't given any information on this medication before i was given the shot.Or i wouldn't have had it with these known side affects.Does anyone know how long my face will stay red and burning i can't stand it. I will go for physical therapy from now on.

I have only been taking Budeprion for 4 days now, and the last 3 days have been excruciating! Horrible neck and shoulder pain that comes and goes. I wake up fine in the morning, but right around lunch time or a little after my upper back, shoulders and neck start to tighten and I get a terrible headache - usually only on one side of my head. I also have a fuzzy feeling in my head, and have a hard time focusing.
The pain lasts until I go to bed, but then I wake up feeling relatively ok again in the morning.
This is the first antidepressant that I have taken, and I know these kinds of drugs can take a couple of weeks before you start to notice anything, but I am really scared to keep taking the Budeprion because it makes me feel so awful. The worst part about the situation is that doctor actually prescribed me Wellbutrin, not this generic, and I just found out today that my insurance company covers both. I REALLY wish I would have done more research on this drug before I got the prescription filled. Now I have to wait a month before I can get it switched.

A couple of days after switching from Wellbutrin XL (which was effective for me, with no side effects) to Budeprion XL, I began to experience feelings of panic, a choking-like tightness in my throat/neck area, and extreme tension throughout my shoulders and neck. (I have never had a panic attack before.) My doctor said that my symptoms sounded like anxiety. Neither of us made the connection to the recent switch from Wellbutrin to Budeprion. These Budeprion XL side effects began each day in the late afternoon and continued for at least two hours, sometimes longer. Nothing relieved them. I tried relaxation breathing, yoga, meditation, and even Ativan! After several days of this torture, in desperation for some relief from the panic/tightness/tension, I drank a glass of wine when the symptoms set in. The symptoms grew even more severe. It finally occurred to me that the Budeprion might be the source of this frightening problem, and I insisted on being switched back to the Wellbutrin. Ta-da. No more freaking afternoon attacks. A few months later, while experiencing some lower back pain, I took a Budeprion by accident (I found a single tablet in my desk drawer and I mistook it for a codeine-based pain tablet that has a similar appearance...I know--a dumb thing to do!) Hours later, the original side effects returned: extreme panic with neck/shoulder tightness and tension. I have not taken Budeprion since that day (about three months ago), and I have never again experienced those side effects (or any similar symptoms). The name brand Wellbutrin XL is working effectively for me, with no side effects. Because of these experiences, I am convinced that Budeprion XL's contents (or composition) are very different from those of Wellbutrin XL. They may or may not have the same chemical formula, but they certainly do not react the same way in my body.

I have been on synthroid for about 3 yrs. I am considered subclinical (can't find hypothyroidism with blood test- normal range).
Grant it, the medicine took away the almost angina pain and loss of breath. However, my body seems to have deteriated structurally. I have tremendous lower back pain, that worsened. I have been in pain every day since. I starve, (veggies - then dinner). It's been very, very difficult. Always looking for help.I'm hoping that a natural hormone will change this, I know my husband will be glad; he won't have to hear me cry anymore.

I was on advair 250/50 for six months initially with no problems. Started it again 6 months later and the side effects began. The first night I experienced a stabbing pain in one wrist. The wrist became painful and weakened. The pain subsided but then there was a throbbing pain in my breast bone. That went on for about 1 month. Stopped the advair and it went away. Unfortunately, I was relying heavily on my rescue inhaler again so I resumed the Advair. This time I experienced neck and shoulder pain. I quit Advair about a month ago. I still have some neck and shoulder pain and swelling. I bought a cleanse from the Garden of Life Company today in an effort to get rid of any Advair that may still be in my system. Hope it works.

I am a 54 year old male who has a chronic a-fib. My cholesterol was a wee bit high so my now retired MD put me on Zetia, which just about killed me- constant stomach pains and associated GI problems-we all can guess. So I went to see my cardiologist- he took me off Zetia and put me on Lipitor. It dropped my cholesterol levels significantly but the side effects are horrendous. My new MD was gooing to look into it because I was on 80 mg a day- but never did and never lowered the dose-229 is not all that high to warrant 80 mg a day.
I am now experiencing severe pain in my right rib-cage area, making sleep an event every night. Also have severe leg cramps the size of golf balls constanlty at night while sleeping. Pain in both elbows, and in the right foot, which when I can sleep wakes me up with a severe pounding pain. I am also experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain and am generally fatigued all the time- So I quit taking the stuff as of today on my own, I am seeing my MD in two week and I want to see what the difference is pain wise being off of the med for two weeks. I have always been a strong physical guy, played football all the way through college and am in pretty good shape for my age, but this stuff is killing me!! Hope this helps someone else also-Thanks for listening-John in Napa, CA.

Hi, I was injected with you guessed it Kenalog 4 months ago for neck and shoulder pain. I now have a dollar sized indent beside my left shoulder blade that is purpish in color and ugly as hell to look at. It has also caused increased shoulder pain, shoulder winging as well as bicep and tricep weakness in addition to shoulder drop. I am so pissed because if I would of been informed that any of this could of been a possibility I would of never of elected to have this done. (And think I actually paid for it) I have spoken to many Neurosurgeon as well as Neurologists and they all seem puzzeled by my outcomes and have scheduled me for an EMG NCS test to try to rule out nerve damage. I have also been told that this could be permenant and could continue to get worse. I am so saddened by everyone's post yet relieved that I am not the only one out there. I was beginning to believe that I was alone. Oh, I almost forgot... I also had my period for 22 days straight which caused me to think that there was a problem and had to go through a series of tests through my OBGYN to rule out potential problems which just ended up leading back to this drug. :(

I
I am currently taking a 40mg lipotor. I have devloped chronic hives mosttly on my arms and thighs. The itchng is so bad that I scratch these welts in my sleep. I have been on Plavix 75 mg since my first cardio-chatherization which has made my blood so thin that I actually bleed when I scratch. I'm now in a itch and scratch cycle that keeps me from sleeping. My doctor originally started me on 10 mg. This was before I started having clogged coronary arteries'. I am 74 years old. I have just had my second bypass operation. I started on lipitor 10 mg about eight years ago. I developed a hive like welt in my groin area. This welt or hive itched so bad that I damaged the skin. I went to a dermatoligist and the only answer he had after a biopsy was that it was probably Lichon Planus. I had a triple pass July 18 2007. That is when my doctor increased my lipitor dosage to 40 mg. He had increased it to 20 mg several years. I finally realized that it may be the 40 mg dose that causes me to wake about three hours later with Hives and itching that is so bad that even scratching doesen't relieve the itch.
I have seen two dermotoligsts. They can find nothing that I am allergic to. This condition has gotten progressivly worse over the last three years. I am taking Zanix and Benedryl I have eliminated all of my other medicines as the cause.
The only thing I could see as a possible cause is acute anxiety. After seeing my family doctor he prescribed the Zanix.
My last hope for relief is to get off Lipitor. I stopped taking it two days ago
and I already see a change in this chronic hive condition; I am assuming that it may take a while to see if I have solved my problem.
Incidently I started takng Zocor about three years ago instead of the Lipitor and I had such severe neck and shoulder pain that it was obvious Zocor was the cause.
zocor was the cause

62 yo female. I have been on 20mg Lipitor for a few years and the doctor ignored my complaints of thigh pain when I wake up in the mornings. When last tested my cholesteral level was still higher than she thought acceptable so the dose was increased to 40mg. I lasted on that for about 3 weeks. Unbearable pain all day rather than just in the mornings. I am back on 20mg but only taking one every second day. I am feeling so much better - less pain and much more energy (which I never associated with the meds). I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem with urine output. I have had this problem for a few years and after reading doing some internet research last night I am now wondering if that is also a result of taking Lipitor. I am very close to ceasing the Lipitor altogether as I think the cure may be worse than the disease!!

I am totally shocked at what I have learned about Lipitor. My physician prescribed 10mg for me over 4 years ago. No major problems until recently. Severe neck/shoulder pain for about 3 months. Dr said it was a pulled muscle. Gave me Skelaxin. No help. Went to Chiropractor--yanked, cracked, beat, etc--no help. In the past 2 weeks or so I have developed pain in my hips, back and legs. Blamed it on being 52 years old. As I read some of the experiences on here I could relate to each one. I also have gained about 30 pounds in the past 4 years, short term memory is terrible. NO ENERGY> 3 years ago-Dr started me on Wellbutrin for depression, then added Zoloft. I am to the point now I want to get off of all this and see how I could really feel. Not sure about withdrawals. Any comments on stopping the meds?

My husband, My mom and myself was put on lipitor and all suffered the same symptoms.. such as flu like symptoms, severe legs pain, sleeplesness, neck and shoulder pain. My mother suffers the worst she still can't get up from a sitting posistion without help, she gets paralyzed on one side of her body, she cant hold her arms over her head and her hand eye coordination is off which causes her to fall often. I quit taking the meds when they took my mother off, because her liver test was abnormal after taking the drug for a period of time. Now my doctor put me back on the med because my cholestural level 289 and its supposed to be 100 because I had double by-pass surgery, and the pro's outweighed the cons. The leg pains are worse now that im back on the medication again, is this symptom of lipitor?

Severe and constant pain, numbness and weakness in my left arm and tingly sensation in my left hands and fingers. Neck and shoulder pain on left side as well.
PCP recommended all sorts of expensive tests MRI, CatScan, Nerve conductance...everything is normal. Decided to take matters into my own hands and I found all this information about Toprol side-effects that sound familiar to my own.
I'm confused as to why my PCP wasn't aware of these side-effects and ordered up all the expensive tests instead of first lessening the dosage???
I decided to slowly wean myself off Toprol 50 to 25 and yesterday was my last day, today the side-effects are much less severe and much less frequent.
If the pain and numbness disappear totally after a few weeks off the Toprol I am going to change PCP's.
Oh well, I guess I have to spend more time exersizing.

Let me just begin by thanking all of the women who took the time to make these effects known. I am 31 years old and have been taking Yasmin for two years since the birth of my son. I have been suffering with horrible side effects such as neck and shoulder pain, heart palpitations, chest pains,(and I have a heart murmur) dehydration, dizziness, nauseau, dark spots on my skin, intense depression, anxiety, and mood swings, and disabling headaches a week before and the week of my period. I reported these to my doctor and he perscribed migraine medication (which did not work) and Xanax which I cannot take if I want to be able chase my son around. I tried to tell my doctor that it was the pill, but he disagreed and told me to just skip the inactive pills and try to see if that helpped the headaches, which he called "menstrual migraines." It only made everything worse. Why are doctors pushing this pill????Why do they refuse to connect these effects with it? Now that I have found this site, I know I'm not crazy, but poisoned. I am now divorced b/c I did not have a very understanding husband. I am stopping today, with the hopes of regaining some of my life back.

Went to Dr. 2 days ago. BP was 142/80 and he about had a fit. I didn't think that was so terrible. But in addition to Dyazide and Verapamil (been on them for years with no major complaints), he added Lisinopril, 5 mg. daily. It's been two days now and I'm done with the Lisinopril. I immediately got a headache, chest pain, leg pain and weakness, dizziness with a feeling of just being "off", had to take naps both days, blurred vision, loss of appetite, and I have neck and shoulder pain. Lucky I found this website.
I usually tolerate prescription drugs very well - but feel poisoned after JUST 2 DAYS on a small dosage, 5mg. of Lisinopril.
I'm calling my Dr. tomorrow, out of courtesy, to let him know that I'm not continuing to take this nasty pill.
Thank you for listening.

Started Lipitor 40mg. in April 2004, am 52 years of age, female. October 2004, woke up with head pressure on left side, ear pressure left side only, neck and shoulder pain. Also spasms on one side of head. This got worse. Had CT scan, chest x-rays, sinus x-rays, saw a Neurologist and no one could find a problem. Dec 2004 had to go on antibotics for a mild infection and had to discontinue the Lipitor for 10 days. I noticed during this time, my neck and shoulder improving and had pressure less pronounced, but still unable to sleep on left side. I am frustrated and am happy by nature, but been getting depressed over this.
Resumed the Lipitor in January 2005 and although my signs were not completely gone, I got bad again, and returned to another doctor. On Feb 22, 2005, I am scheduled for a carotid doppler test. I came accross this board last night. And didn't take my Lipitor, today, I dont have the head pressure, and I am hoping my ear pressure with noise leave. I can't sleep on my left side yet due to the head pressure and I am hoping by me discontinuing Lipitor that I will one day beable to lay on my left side again.
I sure hope that this solves my "mysterious" aliment. Either way, I shall NEVER take a Lipitor pill again.

Diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Started taking lupron in October 2004. Initally, no side effects. About a week before the 2nd injection, started having hot flashes, some neck and shoulder pain, headaches and lightheadedness and some anxiety and paranoia. Due to have 3rd and final injection Dec 22. Hopefully the headaches will go away. Starting to think I need to go to a neurologist.

I have been on advair 250/50 about 6 months. The first couple weeks I had sore throat and slight cough, the symtoms went away. My asthma is under great control, breathing has never been better. The last 2 months I have had periodic bouts with diarrhea, stomach cramping and nausea. I have neck and shoulder pain. As well severe pain in my left leg and hip. I have sinus pressure, earaches, sore throat, occassional horseness and have been treated for cronic sinus and upper respitory infections. I am starting to feel depressed because I feel sick all the time. My husband said I was fine until they changed my asthma medication so I asked the doctor and pharmicist and was told the symptoms are from an infection not all like the symtoms I would get from taking advair. After veiwing this web site I am now convinced more then ever it is the medication.

Considerable muscle pain in legs and hips; severe neck
and shoulder pain, mental sluggishness, memory lapses,
weight gain. This was 70 mg. once a week from Nov. 02
to May 03. I had been on the 10 mg. per day regimen from '96-'00 and had similar side effects but not as severe.
Why are doctors so gung-ho on this stuff and patients know
it is a bummer? When they put their wives on it they'll
believe us!

Have been on Simvastatin since May 2007. Have experienced debilitating headaches every day for the first three months, neck and shoulder pain, lower back pain, tiredness to the point of having to stop what I am doing and go to bed and am wondering now whether any other female taking Simvastatin has experienced a burning sensation when passing very hot water and extremely uncomfortable and painful sex.
