i am 20 year old male with high blood pressure. i have been on lisinopril for about 3 months and since i started taking it my sinus is always clogged, i get mad for no reason, i flip out on my friends and coworkers, i don't care about stuff, i say stuff i normally wouldn't even think, i feel depressed randomly, i cough really bad for a few minutes after i eat a meal, and am very tired all the time for little or no reason. i am planing on stopping the medication as soon as i can talk to my doctor but i don't have much free time to drive across town and am afraid to stop taking it on my own with out letting her know.

I am sure glad to hear from other people about the side effects of this drug. It did help bring my blood pressure down, also taking furosemide (lasix) and labetalol, synthroid and was diagnosed diabetic and am controlling it with diet mainly. This all started about 5 months ago, when I found out all these things plus I had pneumonia. I've lost about 60 pounds since then, and have been doing pretty well. My doctor stepped my pressure down, not all at once, and only after she upped the lisinpril did I have any negative reactions, and that was what some might call lightheadedness, but someone on here referred to as "not quite right," and that's what I'd call it.
I woke up Tuesday, went to have breakfast, take my meds, went back to bed as always, maybe nap a bit, or listen to music, dozed off when alarm went off, got up, went to get dressed, then felt the not right feeling only worse, think I sat down, found myself on the floor a minute later, wondering why my face was in the carpet. Luckily,I have only a black eye and some carpet burns. I think it was too much meds, went to my dr, who put me in the hospital, ran ekg, fine, had me on a heart monitor that day, next morning , had a cat scan, found out that was normal this am, but the eeg showed "possible" seizure activity, so I'm waiting to hear about another eeg, when I'm walking around, and to see a neurologist. My dr did cut the lisinopril in half, and seems to be helping. I also have the dry cough, but not too bad.
I'll be checking out the side effects of the other drugs whi;le I wait, too.
Just turned 50 last month, NOT the way to celebrate.
Thanks for being here.

On an 8-week taper down from 80mg for ulcerative colitis. Lost 30 pounds from UC and was bedridden, miserable, and fully dehydrated for about 3 weeks before hospitalization. I was very worried about taking Prednisone due to past reactions (primarily insomnia and associated extreme emotional distress). My UC responded immediately to the Prednisone, and I went from 20+ daily bowel movements to 2-3 in a matter of 3 days. I'm now 2 weeks in to the taper, taking 30mg and feeling completely refreshed.

Definitely having some negative reactions. I've been taking Ambien nightly for 2 weeks, permitting 6-8 hours of restless sleep, waking every 15-30 minutes. The first time I took predinose, I did not take any sleep aids. I did not sleep for over 3 days and extremely sporadically for the following 2 weeks, with frequent auditory hallucinations.(So 6-8 hours of restless sleep is fine by me). My face is very bloated, acne breaking out worse than ever, insatiable hunger(gaining my weight back too quickly), muscle weakness-spasms-cramping, abnormally pulse/blood pressure, and fatigue/unnatural energy. Had severe dizziness and headrushes for the first 3-4 days before tapering to 40 mg.

All in all, I'm very thankful for the results. I feel considerable relief. My apartment is spotless, I have heightened concentration and motivation. Hopefully the negative effects will dissipate by the end of my dosage, and I won't be too far overweight.

I have been getting the shot about every month to month and 1/2 for about a year to treat Pompholyx a type of eczema on my hands. Turns out I am allergic to formaldehyde from cigarette smoke, I've been a smoker for about 10 years and I am now allergic to my own smoke, ironic... Well, I just quit smoking but, my hands have broken out so its time for one last injection. Kenolog is the only thing that allowed me to continue to work while I narrowed down the source of my allergy. Hopefully now I won't have to get any more injections now that I quit smoking. I have never had any negative reactions or side effects of this drug but, now that I've read some, I'm glad I won't need it anymore. anyone got a cigarette I can bum??lol

The only side effect after 7 months of the gum is a nausea.
This only occurs if I have chewn too many pieces in one day.

Aside from this (which has only happened when I have been careless) I can not see any negative reactions or results.

I am smoke free and free of the hand to mouth habit. When I have my 2MG boxes ready to wheen me off the gum. I have chosen to continue this long not out of necessity, but the fact that I actually like it

I feel bad for all of you who have had negative reactions to this drug. I was put on it because my body decided to go out of whack this past year (15 day periods...nooo!!!). Maybe I'm made for this drug, but I have had no trouble whatsoever. No bloating (which would happen each month...I'd go up a whole pant size), my acne is gone, I've lost weight, and my breasts have actually shrunk. That's not something most people would see as a benefit, but when you're 5'2", and a DD-cup, it's a VERY good thing! I did feel a bit fatigued, so my roommate who's been taking BCP's for close to 12 years recommended that I take an iron pill. Seems anemia can be a result of taking this kind of medicine. I started the iron, and have felt like normal since then!

Just a warning, though...make sure you get your daily dose of calcium! Hormones have been known to leech calcium from your bones, and we don't want to end up with osteoporosis!
