Hello All,
I would like to Thank everyone so much! I thought I was really losing my mind. I started NuvaRing on Sept.27th. The nurse told me I could leave it in for four weeks if i wanted abd not have my cycle. And I did. The doc put me on NR due to the PH in my vagina off. He said it would help. While i think i has helped the PH it has caused: vagina dryness, headaches, nervousness, burning feeling, tiredness, depression, angry Bitchy attitude, low sex drive, paranoid, scared feelings, don't want anyone to talk to me, don't want to party or kick it with my friends, and a weird discharge thats kinda nasty. I also have freaked out on all my male friends. I feel like im somebody else. Some crazy woman. Im 34 years old. And i don't know who I am right now or what I want. I thought about taking this thing out tonight and throwing it in the trash compactor but i have one week to go till my cycle. I was on Desogen pill before and switched for the convince only. Darn NR. Well Thanks ladies this is it for me. And my OBGYN doctor will be having a serious talk next week. Shame on me for not doing more research before switching. And i have a pain in my side and very loose bowels. Run from NR ladies RUN!!!! ******

I am a 35 year old male in perfect health. last week i received two Kenalog injections in my trap muscles to to treat muscle spasms{trigger points) from a pinched nerve in my back. When I went home later that day as I layed down I begin having severe heart palpitations. I went to my doctor and my blood pressure was very high 169/94 with a heart rate of 127. For the last week I have been experiencing anxiety attacks, insomnia, hot flashes, sweating, nervousness jittery, very emotional. I had my heart checked out and had bloodwork drawn all normal. I was put on lopressor 50 mg 2times per day and xanax to help me sleep at night. I am crawling out of my skin! I can feel my heart beating all hours of the day and night! It is driving me crazy!! I regret getting the injection!!! The doctor told me it could take 2 months before the steroid leaves my body. I hope I will not have any lasting affects of the drug! I am very nervous these symptoms will not go away! I also am experiencing headaches and burning in my stomach. I am also always hungry and yet I am losing weight.Im thinking about seeing an endocrinologist. Im scared!!

One week into taking the meds . I did feel anxiety and nervousness. I have never felt those feeling until I have taken that medicine. i also had diarrhea.I started feeling a sensation above my knee where is would start tingling and it would go numb and then start burning after standing for like 10 mins .I have never had any problems with my legs. Then the second week into in the middle of my thigh started a burning sensation. The third week it just kept getting worse . I went back to my doc and told him he said it was my weight and me walking. So Sept 11,09 I stop taking it. I have been off it for like a 7days . the burning has gone down to a soreness in my right leg but my right foot is very sensitive. It very annoying. I do not what it did to me . It has been the worse 1 month experience in my life. I have lost 25 pounds which is great eating right and walking. If it was not for this website and my mother in law I would of kept taking it. Like a dummy. I am looking for a good doctor in

I am not sure if it is the change from Ortho Tricylin lo to this one but after being on sprintec i felt like i was pregnant after the third week. I did get my period the first month on it but it was different. It lasted for only 3 days and I had spotted a few days prior to it. I have been extremely tired, like as if i am pregnant and I go to the bathroom just about every hour, which is not normal. I am nauseated all day long and feel a sense of nervousness throughout the day. I also get dizzy spells and have a higher level of appetite. My period is suppose to be here in 2 weeks, if it is not then I can only think that i am pregnant, but if it does come down i am switching back to the Ortho....this is really bad that a pill can make you feel like you are pregnant as i have heard some of the ladies on the site say so, when you are on a pill to avoid getting pregnant.

This is to serve as a personal warning to ANYONE taking
Effexor XR or thinking about taking it.
After my husband and I experienced HORRIBLE withdrawal symptoms within a week from coming off of our medication, and has continued for 4 months now. I feet compelled to inform people about the risks that this drug carries with it.
This drug helped my husband and I immensely while we were on it, but I just wish that I had been more knowledgeable about the risks of going off this medication so abruptly.
I understand that the medical professional that is prescribing you the drug is supposed to inform you that you are not to stop taking the medication abruptly (which is exactly what I was told). IN NO WAY was I told the consequences of NOT taking the medication.
So here are some of the symptoms that I experienced within the first two days (there are many more symptoms that other Effexor XR patients have experienced, but I feel that it is only right to list mine):
• Akathisia - a syndrome characterized by unpleasant sensations of "inner" restlessness that manifests itself with an inability to sit still or remain motionless.
• Ataxia – Loss of the ability to move the body with coordination.
• "Brain Zaps", "Brain Shocks," "Brain Shivers" or "Head Shocks" Descriptions include dizziness, electric shock-like sensations, sweating, nausea, insomnia, tremor, confusion, and vertigo.
• Cold Sweat – The skin is clammy and moist and you feel chilled. This is a reaction to a shock or pain as well as to fear and nervousness.
• Colitis – A condition where the large intestine becomes irritated from the use of the drug.
• Dehydration – An extreme loss of water from the body or the organs of the body as in sickness or not drinking enough fluids.
• Depersonalization - A feeling of watching oneself act, while having no control over a situation. (A sufferer feels that he or she has changed and the world has become less real, vague, dreamlike, or lacking in significance.)
• Diplopia – A condition where a person is looking a one object and instead of normally seeing just the one object he sees two. This is also call double vision.
• Disequilibrium - Dizziness, light-headedness and vertigo with a sense of losing balance.
• Dysarthria – The inability to control the mouth muscles when forming words so the words are not clearly spoken and heard.
• Gastric Irritation – An inflamed and sore stomach.
• Hyperhidrosis – The triggering of an excess of sweat being produced on the soles of the feet and/or the palms.
• Hypoesthesia – A partial loss of sensation or general loss of awareness.
• Influenza-like - Fatigue, lethargy, chills, sweating, headache, weakness and palpitations.
• Insomnia – Not able to fall asleep or sleeping for a shorter time than desired, thus not being able to properly rest and feeling un-refreshed. As a result, a person can become irritable, have difficulty concentrating and feel a lack of energy.
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome – A painful condition where the either the muscles or the nerves of the lower intestines, are not responding normally. This results in an alternating condition of diarrhea followed by constipation, back and forth.
• Mania – Unusually irrational, excessive and/or exaggerated behavior or moods ranging from enthusiasm, sexuality, gaiety, impulsiveness and irritability to violence.
• Mood Swings – An emotional shifting as from a state of happiness to a state of depression for a period of time.
• Night Sweats – With night sweats you become wide awake in the middle of the night shivering and cold and wet with your sheets/pajamas soaked in perspiration making it difficult to go back to sleep.
• Nightmare – Dreams that make you afraid or leave feelings of fear, terror, and upset long after waking up.
• Abnormal Orgasm – Unable to have an orgasm with normal sexual stimulation.
• Pain in Extremity – A painful feeling in the legs, arms, hands, and/or feet.
• Paresthesia - A sensation of tingling, pricking, or numbness of a person’s skin with no apparent long-term physical effect.
• Photopsia – A condition where a person sees lights, sparks, or colors in front of their eyes.
• Pressure of Speech – A condition where the individual cannot voice his ideas fast enough with the pressure of there being not enough time to say it.
• Pyrexia – Fever or the increase in body temperature that is usually a sign of infection.
Now some of you may be thinking that I might be overreacting, but I assure you that I am not. Quite the opposite actually, I feel that there are probably more symptoms that I am leaving out.
When I went online to research the symptoms that we had been experiencing, there was little information that I could find. I went onto the website for Wyeth (the company that produces Effexor XR) and the only thing that I could find was, and I quote,
“When people suddenly stop using or quickly lower their daily dose of EFFEXOR XR, discontinuation symptoms may occur. Talk to your doctor before discontinuing or reducing your dose of EFFEXOR XR.”
Wyeth also states that Effexor XR is, and I quote AGAIN,
“ Effexor XR Is Not Addictive. Effexor XR and other antidepressants are not addictive. You cannot become addicted to an antidepressant even if you take it for long-term maintenance therapy. An antidepressant is not a controlled substance like a narcotic or a stimulant.”
I am very sorry Wyeth, but I disagree.

chronic diarrhea x2 weeks-began 4 days after initial dose of lisinopril.....
diarrhea x 12+daily.....
also, experienced headaches, nervousness, waking at night, sweats, acid-like taste in mouth. I discontinued usage, went to dr-she gave me an RX for procardia via nurse without even seeing me on the sole complaint of chronic diarrhea X2weeks......I surely hope this is the solution, and from the postings here, it does appear that Lisinopril is poisonous.
Good luck everyone. My prayers are with all experiencing similar ill effects.

Hi I am from Nepal, and I am 28 years young, male. I have been taking Lisinopril for about 2 years now. At the beginning this drug seemed to have no side effects at all but as the days progressed I could see the side effects. As side effects started to climb up hill day after day, my friend suggested me to consult my physician immediately. So I consulted my physician yesterday and he told me to do an array of tests; blood test including thyroid hormone test, ECG, and chest X-Ray. My reports will come in due 1 weak time. For now my doctor has changed this medication and given me amlodipine and atenolol combination and its trade name is "amlobet" (manufactured in india by: sun pharmaceutical industries). I took 1 dose yesterday and some of my symptoms seemed to disappear, but I'm quite not sure whether its my Psychology that has contributed to the sudden disappearance of some symptoms or the drug itself. I still have to take this medication for some time to make sure of it.
Some side effects experience during Lisinopril intake:
1. Extreme fatigue and lack of interest in doing day to day work this symptom has disappeared as i started on the new medication.
2. Depression like feeling specially early in the morning and at night times.
3. Waking up in the middle of the night.
4. Vivid dreams.
5. Foggy thinking.
6. Nervousness.
7. Palpitation.
8. Anxiety.
9. Profuse sweating.
10. Shaking of hands and legs during nervousness.
11. Slight Memory loss.
12. Lack of concentration.
13. Mood swing (extreme).
14. Dullness (extreme).
As I progress on this new medication I will update this blog. And I'l also give information regarding my blood tests and ECG tests after my report comes. For now this much. But I recommend Lsinopril users to consult their respective physician seriously before taking this medication and consult even if you are on the medication. This drug seems to pass the blood brain barrier and reach the brain so it affects the central nervous system directly which is not the case in some HBP medications like; amlodipine, atenolol etc.

Hi, Ladies,
Thank you for this website. I used to be the picture of health. But then I had my Mirena inserted about 3 weeks ago. Ten days later I started experiencing high blood pressure, sporadic numbness in my arms and legs and dizziness. I told my doctor that I wanted it out and he said it wasn't the IUD. I explained how other women are experiencing the same side effects. He said, "There are scientific studies....." totally negating your voices. Then he lectured me about problems with the Internet knowing full well that I am a teacher. But, he said he wouldn't argue with me. I'm scheduled to have it out tomorrow at 8:00.
What can we do to get this removed from the market?

My experience with Mirena has been terrible, I have always been very cautious of hormone related medication, so I released this had hormones after he fact. It took a total of 2 and half years of torture and many hospital visits, and medication to finally read all these shared symptoms to narrow down my doubts to Mirena, I successfully had it removed yesterday,,,,,,,,,,,,,and cant wait for a normal life. Some of the symptoms I experienced are HEADACHE, NAUSEA, HYPERTENSION, NERVOUSNESS, JOINT ACHES, BACK ACHE, MOOD SWINGS, BLOATED STOMACH, WEIGHT GAIN-20 POUNDS,
I AM SO GLAD THIS TORTURE IS OVER. THEY NEED TO MAKE DOCTORS EDUCATE PATIENTS BEFORE THEY INSERT THINGS INTO THEIR BODY.......I WAS RUSHED ON THIS, I ORDINARILY WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED GETTING ALL THE INFORMATION BEFORE GETTING IT DONE......HOPE THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP IN PUTTING DATA TOGETHER AND HELP OTHER WOMEN WITH SIMILAR SYMPTOMS.

I took lexapro for anxiety and mild depression for 3 months, but after experiencing anorgasm, (the inability to reach orgasm) I talked to my doctor and we decided to try Wellbutrin. I have been on it for a week, and I am experiencing the jittery, boxed up nervousness. In addition today I dry heaved all day.....I almost feel like I did when I took adderall for ADHD in College (got off of that b/c it made me a zombie-ish b*tch) And last night I cried for 2 hours without really knowing why. So, I don't know if maybe this med is not good for me, and if I should notice some relief by now....lexapro was great for the mood--always happy, easy going and a bit nonchalant, but I gained 10 pounds in 3 months (started at 115 so 10 lbs is a lot for a person as small as I am) and the orgasm problem was not good as I am 27 and newly married....wondering if there is anyone out there that switched from lexapro to wellbutrin and if their symptoms subsided after a couple of weeks......

I am a female in my mid-to-late 30's. I was on Topamax for about a year. The memory, vocabulary, concentration, focus, loss of words and 'confusion' got so bad it became a real problem at work and the rest of my life. When I started forgetting how to get home, the neuro doctor took me off of it. Those problems decreased a bit, but never entirely disappeared. After weening off the medicine, the full-blown headaches/migraines returned (Topamax only moderately relieved pain). So now in addition to the pain in my head, I have the lingering sides-effects to deal with. It cost me my job. I've been off Topamax for over a year and still have not regained control of my own thought processes. Among other things, it's embarrassing because I feel stupid. I no longer understand about half of what I read, have trouble following (and remembering) conversations, habitually forget what I'm supposed to do/have done/am doing. Forget being able to follow a series of directions. I am afraid Topamax has caused permanent damage to my cognitive brain functions and I have no idea what to do about it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I just went in for my second shot of Lupron (out of a series of 6) for treatment of stage IV endometriosis. The most noticeable side effect I experienced was during my first menstrual cycle after my first dose of Lupron. I had never experienced menstrual pain or cramping (even though I had advanced endometriosis) until after Lupron. I have a fairly high pain tolerance and yet the cramping for the first 2 days of my period were almost debilitating. I had extremely heavy bleeding and have had spotting daily ever since (app.18 days). I have gained about 3 pounds because I have no energy at all. I'm usually active and work out 4-5 times a week but by the time I get off work, I'm too fatigued to do so (hence the weight gain I guess). I have hot flashes and night sweats all the time. The most recent side effect is high blood pressure. I have never had high blood pressure in my life (I'm a healthy 25-year-old woman) and when I went in for my 2nd Lupron shot today, they told me I all of a sudden do. I don't seem to have mood swings but do feel depressed and sometimes more anxious than normal. I have experienced a decreased interest in sex as well.

Hello everyone I just found out about this site today. I am 30 years old and I thought that mirena was a good choice for me after I had my second son. I got the mirena when my son was 8 weeks old June 2008. I was losing all the baby weight at first but, once I got the mirena the nightmare began. I gained 80 pounds in the two years in the stomach area I had it,My cycle stopped right after I got it. I had sharp stabbing pains in the uterus and lower stomach, I have had lower back pains, Nervousness (I use to think I was losing my mind). My breast was heavier, I was sleepy all the time, moody and picked fights with my husband constantly, I had no sex drive at all. I attempted several times to get it removed and the OB always talked me out of removing it. They claimed that it didn't caused any of the problems I was having. Then my OB told me that I was gonna die if I don't control my weight because I was 5 ft 1 inch and 220 pounds and have got hypertension and started taking two pills a day. I barely was hungry I could never keep any food down with the mirena I was vomiting everything up. So how could I was I gaining weight. Then finally I went and lied said I wanted another baby the doctor said that I would run a risk of having an abnormal baby I told him I didn't care I just wanted the mirena out and he took a long time to find it then he finally saw where it was and removed it. He showed it to me after removing it. Now that I gotten it taken out I fell better. My breast went right back to normal I lost ten pounds now. I am currently walking and drinking lots of water so I can continue to loose. My body is getting back on track with some eating I just eat small portion now, but i'm getting back on track slowly. I have a lot of gas from the time I wasn't eating I just hope i get to my normal size I use to be I wasn't my average size like he said I should be 115 pounds but I was never this fat. I use to be between 145 10 160 pounds and if GOD bless me to get back to that size I'll be happy but I'm still losing my doctor gave me a prescription to lose. I'm now 200 pounds. I'm glad I got that dern mirena removed and It was gone on 5/5/2009

I work for an OBGYN and I was getting samples of Ortho Tri Cyclene Lo, and had been on it for 2 years due to my cysts rupturing. Well Ortho went generic and we no longer carried it in the office and i was recommended to just try Loestrin before going to pay for an RX of my ortho. Well im in my 2nd week, and grant it i KNOW they say wait 3 months before you decide to switch but i CAN NOT take this any longer. Ortho gave me no problems, maybe cramps a few times out of the year, and with those, some heavy periods, which is normal for any pre-menopausal woman. Other than that it was great! No loestrin is almost giving me the same problems as Yaz did... yet Yaz was far worst, i am now experiencing moodiness, manic and depressive mood swings, uneasiness, nervousness, constipation, tiredness, and it really does not help that i am also in full time college while experiencing all of these side effects. I think the 35 dollars a month for ortho may just be well worth the price.
