Neurotin symptoms and conditions

I have been taking Zocor for 6 months. In the past 3 weeks I have developed intense tingling and burning in both legs from my feet to my knees. I also have a feeling of numbness in my right foot that at times is in the whole ball of my foot but will move to the side of the ball of my foot. I have been to the ER twice and all my neuro checks were normal even though my legs felt like they were on fire. I just this past week had a MRI of cervical and lumbar spine. My doctor is thing the symptoms may be related to the significant arthritis I have in my neck and may be due to nerve compression at one of the discs but I don't think so. I was worried about MS and Guillian Barre as these can be symptoms of those diseases as well but I didn't have any other symptoms of those diseases. At my last ER visit the doctor put me on Neurotin for the burning in my legs. I just happened to think to look on line for med interactions and side effects of the meds I am on and would have never expected that Zocor could be the culprit. I was astounded to find that the tingling and burning was more than likely due to the zocor. I stopped taking it about 4 days ago and am showing some improvement but I am still taking the neurotin. Does anyone know how long it takes Zocor to get completely out of your syste.? I also have nerve conduction studies scheduled.

60 yr old/young female: I started generic toprol (metoprolol 50mg xr) yesterday (11/22/07). Took about 3:00 PM. The next morning around 6:00 AM, I had a hot flash that equated to one you would have if you had taken niacin. Body was burning and I was sweating. Looked in the mirror to see if I was flushed, because of the severity of the hot flash I thought my body would be totally red. It wasn't. I called my pharmacist to report this event. He researched and found no evidence of such. He did say that it did not rule out the possibility that it was caused by the Toprol. Asked me to keep him posted as his customers were the ones that helped him be able to report side effects to other. Well I found this site and low and behold I have read of the hot flashes and all of the other problems. I will not be taking this medication. I am not a pro medication person anyway and related that to my dr, but at some point you feel you have to have trust in someone. I don't trust medications. I know at some point in my life I will probably have to take something, but not Toprol. Sounds as though it will cause more problems than it will cure. Thanks so much for your input. It will prevent me from having to wean myself off this mess. Oh yeah, I was also feeling the depressed, anxiety mentioned. Not at a high level , but just knew I wasn't myself. That was after just one dose. I can't imagine how it would have progress. I feel very blessed.

sexual side effects, fall asleep all of the time. Cannot even watch tv without falling asleep, no matter what time of day. Also I have noticed that I cannot have climax while having sex, as I have not had any problem. Hope to hear from you. I thank you in advance

My Internist doctor prescribe me Neurotin for a nerve pain.
I took only one pill of 100mg, well in the moring I felt sick, nausea... the strange thing was that I see dreams passing through my sight. This never happen to me. I went to my family phisician he discontinued he immediately.
Thank God my mother and brother prayed with in the name Jesus to cleanse from this drug.

60 YEAR OLD FEMALE: IN 01-05 I STARTED TAKING SINGULAIR 10MG AND ADVAIR 100/50 FOR ALLERGY ASTHMA SYMPTOMS. BY FEB. I WAS HAVING FOOT AND LEG CRAMPS. BY MARCH I STARTED COMPLAINING TO MY PULMOMARY DR.(WHO PERSCRIBED THESE), MY ENDO DR., MY ALLERGIST AND GYNO. MY ENDO REFERRED ME TO A NEUROGOLIST. I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE SINGULAIR AND ADVAIR SIDE EFFECTS WHICH MY PHARMACY CONFIRMED FOR ME. WELL I GET TO GO THROUGH A NERVE TEST AND AN EMG. NOW I AM TOLD THAT I HAVE A NEUROPATHY IN MY FOOT AND THAT I NEED A NERVE BIOSPY TO FIND OUT WHY. HE HAS NOT EVEN MENTIONED THE LEG CRAMPS THAT I CAME TO HIM FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEN HE GIVES ME A PERSCRIPTION FOR NEUROTIN FOR PAIN. I TOLD HIM BEFORE THE EMG THAT WHEN I STOPPED USING ADVAIR THAT MY CRAMPS STOPPED. THEY DO NOT LISTEN. I STILL TAKE SINGULAIR BUT MY LEGS STILL FEEL FUNNY LIKE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROM. I DO INTEND TO STOP SINGULAIR. I AM NOW CONVINCED SINCE I TOO FOUND THIS WEB SITE THAT IMY PROBLEM IS DUE TO MEDICATION. I DO NOT INTEND TO GO GET CUT ON SO THEY CAN THEN TELL ME ITS MY MEDICATION. I TAKE UNITHROID, ZETIA, SINGULAIR, ADVAIR. THE LAST THREE ALL HAVE JOINT/ MUSCLE PAIN/CRAMPS AS SIDE EFFECTS. I REALLY THOUGHT THAT I HAD SOME SORT OF MUSCLE DISEASE.

my husband is taking 100mg. for( neuropathy) that is the diagnosis he was given. I'm not quite sure it's correct and i noticed that he seems to be very tired after taking this medication- he takes it at 6:00pm
He is also taking neurotin and other medication which supposedly does not interfere with the amitriptyline. he seems very low key, which isn't really his personality. thank you

I am a 41 yr old woman w/high cholesterol. I am on 1200 mg of Neurotin and 200 mg. of Cyclobenzaprene for spinal injury & resulting surgery 2 years ago. I have been dx'd with fibromyalgia, but I am cautious with that label. I couldn't tolerate lipitor due to new muscle pain and weakness tied to onset of lipitor usage. I was put on 20 mg. Zocor 15 days ago & I feel my life has slipped away from me. I didn't even equate this to my new drug. Today I went on the net & found this message board. So it's the zocor. :>( I cannot sleep. I can't really seem to function. The joint pain especially, and in all of my limbs is red hot & debilitating. The muscle pain, well, I feel that this must be what it's like to have a broken shoulder. Most muscle groups affected. Right now, my doc is running every test, but based upon what I am reading here, I think we know the culprit. This new, harder pain in my joints is comparable to the severe neuro hits I would get in my extremities just after the neuro surgery. It is akin to red-hot electrical hits. I hate it. I'm beginning to hate everything. Sorry for the long post.
