I have been on Tri-Sprintec for about 3-4 months. I was noticing a few odd symptoms and kept asking my roommates if they knew how long I should keep taking it for it to "get comfortable" or for it to "get into my system." I am still on it and feeling very sad, moody, cranky, angry, anti-social and FAT! If you knew me, this is not who I am...I am very positive, happy, and lots of energy. My new boyfriend (of 3 months) is noticing my "critical" nature about petty things...I turn into a complete stranger that wants to be alone, unexpectedly! Very strange, and sad for him! But at least now I know that it could just be Tri-Sprintec....any comments or suggestions?

I have been on and off BC for almost 7 years. I started taking the Pill when I was only 16. From then on I fluctuated between a normal teenager and young woman to a crazy, depressed, bloated she-monster. I went off all hormones for about 11/2 years, and I tell you, it was like someone had lifted a veil. I had the sex drive of a 13 year old boy. I ran two marathons and felt like i was on top of the world. Recently, with a new boyfriend, I had a pregnancy scare and so I decided I'd jump on the BC bandwagon again. WRONG IDEA!! The instant I started the pill, those old depressed crazies came back. So, what did my doctor do? Told me to go on the NuvaRing. HAHA!! Not even three days into it, I'm already feeling exhausted, limited sexually and I have a rash on my face. Enough is enough..Hormones are the worst things to mess with, especially when you are so young. This country needs to stop being chained to the pharmaceutical companies and start opening up their eyes. There are reports of animals being affected by BC. Seriously, check it out. It's scary!! I'm going to go to my doctor and demand a change. I'm looking into IUD's. Take a look for yourself. And not Mirena...that still has hormones. I'm talking the old fashioned piece of plastic "T" that will last for 10 years!!! Ladies, do what's best for you, but honestly enough is enough. Don't be a slave to the worst group of people since the Railroad Barons of the 1800's!!!

I'm so glad to have found this website! i have been on NuvaRing for a year i think, and about half a year ago started to feel weird: all i wanted to do was sleep, or sit on the couch covered in blankets (was feeling cold all the time), not go out to exercise and eat eat eat! i am an extremely positive person, i love to go running and doing outdoor things, am almost never cold and never need more than 8hrs of sleep. a friend told me it might be the Ring, so i stopped with it for 2 months. immediately felt better and became my happy self again. just a week ago i decided to put it in again, because of a new boyfriend and leftover rings, not wanting to get pregnant. I've been on it for only half a week, but after reading all this took it out again immediately. i am not crazy, it really is the ring thats causing it all. i had a big fight with the boyfriend this morning, and it was only after i talked to a friend that i realized it was the ring. i understand that for some ppl it might work really well, but for now, I'm just gonna have another massive dinner and wait for the side effects to go again. good luck everyone, listen to your own body and talk to friends who know you, they'll be able to tell you somethings different.

I've been using the ring for a little over a month... My new boyfriend watched me go from really cool girl fun girl that he wanted to be around all the time to super moody, depressed and anxious :( I lost my sex drive .. which really sucks because I use to LOVE sex.
Just the other day i started coming down with a UTI and i noticed that if i adjusted the ring i felt a little better... and thought that that was strange. I decided yesterday that I didn't wanna use the ring anymore because of the emotional problems it seemed to be giving me .. But the strangest thing happened.. The UTI that i was planning on seeing a doctor in the morning for.. yeah It was gone after one night without that freaking ring in. I seriously think that the ring either caused my UTI or was just making it worse.
I wish i had read this site before i got it.

I discovered this site on Monday and stopped taking Yasmin on Tuesday. I've been on the pill for four years and had asked my doctor multiple times if my depression, anxiety and moodiness could be related to the pill. You know the answer. I felt such a sense of relief after reading everyone's experiences. I too am an upbeat person although I have a strong tendency to worry but it was never to the point of not getting out of bed, crying over very silly things and just know excitement about living life. With a new boyfriend and a new job, I thought I was just going through some MAJOR adjustments although in hindsight it's ridiculous to have lived feeling that crappy for so long. The side effects definitely got worse after the first year and that's when my libido started to tank as well.
It's only been a few days and I'm so elated to think that I'm going to get MY LIFE BACK that I'm optimistic the side effects many have mentioned in trying to get off Yasmin will not effect me. I will endure because anything's got to be better than how it's been. Thank you all very much!!!

I was on the "miracle birth control pill" Yasmin for three months, the typical amount of time you're to give a new bc pill. Anyone stating that they've been on it for 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. need to give it time to get into your system. Not saying it will be bad, but it takes awhile to get in there. Anyway, my side effects weren't that noticeable to me. But to my new boyfriend they were. And he pointed them out to me and researched the pill for me. And guess what? They're all side effects commonly known for with Yasmin. The no sex drive, the unbearable mood swings (I mean I was psycho!!), the bloatedness, the acne around the chin, the upset stomachs/diarrhea, headaches, etc. No, not every pill is for every woman, but I think they should of done a lot more research with this one. Granted I will give them the fact that the main reason I went on this pill was to stop my breakthrough bleeding. It did stop that, and only having my period for 2-3 days was pleasant. But not the rest!! And for those who think that this pill makes you lose weight, don't believe the hype. It's only been proven that you can lost ONE POUND being on this pill. Drink enough water and you can lose that normally!

I have been taking Yasmin for a year now and have gained 10lbs. The worst side effect for me is my stomach has doubled in size and feels so bloated all the time. My face has also bloated. I suffer headaches and feel depressed all the time about the way I look when a year before I felt great before starting this pill. I meet my new boyfriend when I had just started this pill and I feel so embarrassed as my sex drive vanished completely. Sometimes I have hurt him after sex because I am so dry down there. I am angry all the time over silly things and I am horrible to my poor boyfriend. I could never understand what was wrong with me. I also suffer heart heart plantations and it wakes me up from my sleep, its really frightening. After reading all these comments I stopped taking my pill two days ago 16th September, fingers crossed I can lose some of this water retention
