hi guest 36372,
i set up the new forum precicely so that people could chat and carry on personal correspondance and leave this site for posting factual information and personal stories as well as seekng advice as i agree that the site has become very hard to find answers from if you are a newcomer. i have been "advertising" daily to keep the link where regular visitors and newcomers can see it because it was only set up on friday and many people are not aware of it yet,as time goes on it will not be necessary to post the link. we have quite a few members already. i am sorry if this has offended you in any way but a lot of ladies on here just need some support and understanding and maybe just someone else that understands how they are feeling to chat too. i do not make any money from the new site,it is not a business it is just something i wanted to do to help people who want help and understanding. i am glad that the information you have found in the guests long postings have helped you, that is precisely the point of this site,if you want to chat about what you have discovered then please come to the new site. i won't post the link as it is on this page already.
I thought that a new site was needed to share personal experiences instead of clogging up this page, kind of like a yasmin support group...as the TV advert says it's good to talk!
once again,i wish you all the best,if you find out anything that could help all the other ladies please post it here and the new forum,we should all be doing as much as we can to help each other get through this nightmare.
Oh and in answer to your question about the chest pain,i get that too, especially before my period, sometimes it goes into my shoulder too and i feltl i am having a heart attack! my pulse races for a while then calms down but skips a few beats here and there,i had an ecg done and was told everything was fine,it was just anxiety, but my doctor would say that as he does not believe that yasmin caused any of my problems anyway. There are lots of reasons why your heart may feel this way but no definative answers,it is all if's but's and maybe's. it could be to do with dehydration, could be to do with lack of magnesium or it could be a surge or lack of the correct hormone peaking at the correct time. the truth is only time will tell, hopefully it will start to improve soon.
best wishes.

hi kim123.
sorry i was not around yesterday,my youngest has just gone off to nursery school so has been a bit manic. as the Guest below seems to think we should not use this forum to chat (even though support is a MAJOR part of why people come to this forum) i will email you personally.
hi,guest 35696.
sorry if the above remark sounds rude,it is not meant that way. i understand what you are saying, that new people come here to find out if their symptoms are linked to yasmin and all they can find is personal chit chat and not a full list of symptoms, but i have no idea how to set up a forum for all the ladies here that find just chatting to other sufferers helps.this site and chatting to people on it literally saved my life. if you know how to do it then please let us know. a lot people seem to post side effects on the other page (yasmin forum) that is where i initially found all my symptoms.
once again sorry if the above sounds rude it really is not meant that way but i am passionate about this site and helping support the newcomers as they did when i was a newcomer and nobody understood me and how i was feeling. i am a computer idiot so have no idea how to start up a forum,if any of you ladies out there know how to do it please post on here.
To the lady with the sore breast... mine were agony pre menstrually and just plain huge the rest of the time. i agree with you saying that it feels like engorged breast like when you were breastfeeding that is exactly how mine felt. they were solid and shiny most of the time!!!
i have been off yasmin since june 06 and mine are much better now although i still get a little discomfort premenstrually but they no longer feel lumpy and hurt just with a t-shirt touching them.i used to cringe if my kids wanted a hug as they were so sore. apparently evening primrose oil is good for breast tenderness.

hi i am a newcomer to this site and i have been on prednisone for 3 weeks and actually i took my last pill todayi have also been experiencing side effects like, little sleep, aching bones and muscles, acid reflux/hearburn, quite often urinating and hunger..actually hunger is the only side effect that i don't mind having as i had very little appetite before and is underweight for my height so i actually hope to gain a little weight..how long does it take for the side effects to leave your body and if i only took this for 3 weeks will it leave any permanent damage, like bone problems?????

i am a newcomer to this website, and have happened upon it by an overwhelming urge (from God, i believe) to research this medication that my 5 yr old daughter was on for 2 years. She had been a happy, sweet, sunday-school loving child, but started to become a somewhat demonic, temper tantrum, "nothing was ever good enough" evil child. it kills me to write these descriptives of my one & only child, but i was ready to call social services to come & pick her up because i could not, in any way shape or form, "handle" her anymore. i thought with the new school, moving to a new area had something to do with it, but i was mistaken! chills run up & down me as i read what others have written about this Singulair POISON!!! Let the Lawsuits roll, as God gave me the knowledge to look at this site for something...I thank Him daily for giving me my child back! She's "coming back to life" again after 2 wks of being weaned off....For the love of your child, and your own sanity, Get your Children (& yourselves) off of this stuff!! if you do continue to take it, lock up the gun cabinet for your sake & your childrens.

I am a 70 year old woman, I have been on 20mg Lipitor for high cholesterol, 200 total and 25mg of Spironolactone for a not so high blood pressure, for 3 1/2 yrs. Oh, my God, the Spironolactone is a potassium sparing diuretic that is very dangerous and has many uses I didn't know about or the terrible side effects, it causes breast cancer. It's also used to treat women who have an over growth of hairiness, or on a higher dose to treat hair loss and I've gone bald on the top of my head! Plus all of the good foods we're supposed to eat for high cholesterol, fruit & veggies one isn't to eat on this drug, because of lot's of potassium, what a huge contradiction. And muscle pains, and rashes, (eczema, atopic dermatitis) that I've suffered from both.
-- By dorothy100 | Reply | (5) replies | Private Message meAnyway, Lipitor, had know idea about the side effects until I looked it up on the internet and read these posts on here.
I stopped taking Lipitor last week and Spironolactone 2 days ago.
I had cholesterol test last week too and saw my dr. Wednesday. He said it was okay that I stopped the Lipitor, but not the other one, why not the other one worse then Lipitor and why am I on this strong drug, geez.
The pain and burning started in my hip for no reason, then my ankles with eczema which started soon after Lipitor, then my fingers, numbness, can't pick things up, tingling, burning. Then my feet, yes, just like all of you I have these same problems. This is not just coincidental, this is from the drug Lipitor. I get severe joint cramps in my legs, feet and fingers.
For now on before I take any drug I've prescribed I will thoroughly check for side effects and not take it if they're seriously impairing like Lipitor. I feel like a cripple and older then I should feel, I almost just felt like why live anymore if this is how it's going to be.
Since I've stopped Lipitor I feel a little better, I read that it causes permanent muscle and nerve damage though, oh I hope not, I can barely walk anymore or get up out of my chair. This is all drug induced toxicity of my system. Thanks so much everyone who posted for sharing and enlightening all of us who are suffering from this drug and others.
It should be banned along with Baycol, (a statin) which was banned a few months ago because of these same side effects. With the studies that it only helps maybe to prevent heart attack, well I'd rather be able to walk again and hopefully all this will go away, the rash, etc.
